 | Shi no Otoshiana (死の落とし穴; Literally meaning "Death Trap") is one of the most known landmarks within Kirigakure. This is one of the known land marks in the wars in which Kirigakure secured its independence. Basically, this is a long, deep trench that is completely covered in mist, making it almost impossible to see anything at all within a good three feet in front of your face. This tunnel is what was used to ambush attackers that would walk through the trench, unknowing. This massive and long, skinny trench stretches for a good couple miles before it leads to the main gate of Kirigakure, which is still hidden within a massive veil of mist and made to look like a natural dead end to the trench's rift.

Cross  | | Ochiru Cliffs (落ちる; Literally meaning "Drop Off Cliffs") are cliffs that are located along, and actually mark the outer boundaries of the village on the opposite side of the main gate. These cliffs are huge drop offs that overlook the ocean. The mist is very thick here, and the winds are so extreme that they can even be dangerous. The water below the cliffs is crashing against the rocks, and there are numerous beds of dangerous minerals below. This area is very dangerous for incoming ships and vessels due to the strong water currents and rocks, as well as the cliff walls and moving fog.

CleverYamanaka | | Gensō no Mori (幻想の森; Literally meaning "Illusion Forest") is a large forest that takes over a large portion of the land to the right, far side of Kirigakure's outskirts. This forest is filled with tall, beautiful trees that stretch up until one cannot see them through the mist's veil. Because of the breeze that blows through the forest, the thick fog is known to look as if it is making shapes and forms. Thus, the name was formed, dubbing it the illusion forest. Because of its expansive, it is easy to get lost in the village and quickly lose one's sense of direction.
