A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] Vide
PostSubject: A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] EmptySun 04 Aug 2013, 9:54 pm

In unity there is strength, in division there is weakness.

Rain came thrashing down against the peaceful village that was the great and wondrous Village Hidden in the Trees, bursts of flashes of lightning and the roaring echoes of thunder accompanied this dark, gloomy and turbulent night while the hardworking Hokage sat comfortably within his half - fitted office. The man expected no visitors during this night, in fact, the only staff that filled the building were guards that worked day and night to seek the protection of the Hokage, and even his assistant was, assumingly, at home. It was actually quite a curious sight to be seeing anyone, let alone the leader of the village, working at such a late hour, an hour when all were expected to be wrapped comfortably in bed next to their loved ones or fluffy and stuffed little friends. So why exactly was the Senju up at such an hour? Reports. As usual, the forgetful, or rather lazy, Hokage was behind on his mission logs and reports. However it wasn’t his that he was actually behind on, instead he was behind on reading through the reports of others. Being the Leader, Morijin found it a personal matter to begin proper debriefs on high ranking missions rather than simply reporting back to him in person. He wanted to know everything that occurred during these perilous missions, even if it meant creating a bad habit of causing mission report backlogs. This unwanted habit reminded him of his adolescent years, when he would remain up till dawn in some cases, so that he could have his reports started and finished for the following school day. Homework was always such a bore for Morijin and it continued to remain a bore to this day.

’Perhaps I should do something about that…’ He pondered to himself whilst continuing to read through the latest exploits of men and women who were once equal to him in rank. Being the Hokage, he was now in a chance to revolutionise the education system within his village, a system of education that truly taught students about the dangerous, challenging and thrilling life of being a ninja. But who was he kidding? The Vanquisher had neither the time nor the proper resources to begin conducting such a change, he had much more important matters to be attending to during such chaotic times, such as reading through these blasted mission reports! Education would only see a change once Hi no Kuni found itself within its restored level of peace, back when his predecessors were in charge. Times were becoming truly unstable and even worryingly, unpredictable. The deaths of the vile Mezamashii, Hikaru, Raikage of Kumogakure no Sato, and the admirable Ridori, Mitsu, Hokage of Konohagakure no Sato, sparked an obvious standoff between the two powerful villages. Yet now there was a third threat looming towards the two giants, for Kirigakure no Sato was beginning to grow in power and influence, with it now gaining prominence across the globe. These troubled times brought no good to the current Hokage, a man who favoured military might over the silver tongues of diplomats. And it was slowly becoming ever more apparent that diplomacy wasn’t having the ideal effect that Konohagakure had hoped for. The question was though, would Morijin truly risk the lives of his villagers by starting an all-out war with his opponents?

Power was what the man needed. Power came in many forms, jutsu, weapons, bijuu, though these were only the physical side of power. For power could even be found through diplomacy, the power of friendship, as frigid as it sounded, was actually useful in times of war by holding strong and friendly relationships with neighbouring countries. Then there was of course the power of economics, by holding the largest economy in the world, Hi no Kuni could slam sanctions left, right and centre on certain countries until they submitted to their will. Unfortunately for the Senju, this power doesn’t last forever and physical power, whether it meant holding the most bijuu, hosting the largest army or having the most powerful of techniques, was always an everlasting battle between the powerful nations of the world. Morijin needed to ensure that he had the upper hand in every field against his opponents before even considering the option of war. For now though, the Hokage kept himself busy with the many papers that littered his desk.

Yoroi Kaguya

Having just returned from the land of hot water, Yoroi was finally back home from his week long mission. Even though it was late and dark, Yoroi was still very much awake, having gotten used to it due to his nocturnal lifestyle. Even if he wanted to, there was no way for him to truly get a solid night of sleep, his dreams plagued with haunting visions of war and slaughter. As the rain kept pouring with shots of lightning blasting through the open air, Yoroi's mood was very much like the weather. One would expect him to be fairly well tempered, having made a new friend that followed him to the village. Not just that, but the completion of his missions was also something he was quite cheerful about. All of it seemed to fade when he entered the village again, leaving the free world and going back into his daily life. Walking through the streets, Yoroi walked ahead of Ophelia, leading the way so that she could easily follow him. Having no shirt on, every drop of rain that made contact with his skin sent a refreshing shiver down his spine. For a moment he stopped, looking up and pointing up towards the monument of the Hokage, the faces carved in stone. It was something Ophelia had asked to see, though he could not offer her a closer look right now. "I'm sorry about this, but once I am done in the administration building and the weather clears up a bit, I promise that I will give you an up-close view of the monument, that's a promise." he claimed before continuing his stride towards the administration building.

As the two wandered in, Yoroi did not feel like informing Ophelia about how he had never been inside of this building before and had no idea as to where he should go next to find the Hokage. Making a bit of a gamble, he wandered towards the stairs, figuring the Hokage would be somewhere at the top floor of the building. Ignoring several people that tried to tell him that he was not allowed to just walk on in, Yoroi figured that there was nothing embarrassing he could walk in on in someone's office, not seeing any reason as to why he could not just walk right in. Even if this man was the Hokage, titles did not mean a whole lot to the young Kaguya, for he had beaten people with higher ranks when he was still just a Genin, proving just how overrated the whole rank deal was. Figuring Ophelia would either listen to the people who asked for them to wait until the Hokage was ready for them, he wasted no more time as he opened the door without thinking twice. Noticing a man who was still working on his papers and dossiers at this hour, Yoroi was convinced that this was the right guy to ask about his problems. Never having any form of social or work related interaction with the man, Yoroi had never really shown much interest in the Hokage, not being able to recall any of their names. To him, they were just people with greater privileges and responsibility, though that did not make them into heroes or gods that needed to be worshiped.

It was just one of the reasons as to why he disliked the massive stone monument that portrayed the faces of all past and present Hokage. Right now, his dislike for such things did not matter, he had questions to ask and answers to receive. "I would have knocked, though I don't really have a lot of time to spare for such pleasantries. There are things that I would like to know, things I would like to hear from you personally, seeing as there is not really a better source then the one who goes through most of the paperwork in this place." Yoroi claimed, figuring that there was not that much disrespect in his words. Yoroi had never been the kind of person that addressed people with honorifics or things like that, not even accepting hand shakes or similar things, believing that no time should be wasted over such things. "The people believe that there is going to be a war. I am not much for rumors, though my sister Kimiko believes it too, and I know that she would not comment on such things unless she was certain of it. She told me about the way in which the Raikage and Hokage before you died, though I never got any details as to how they died or for what reason" he said, continuing where he left off. The war and the matter of the Hokage was among the kind of stuff that he truly wanted to learn more about, knowing what to expect in the future. There were many other things he wanted answers to, though for now, this would have to do.

Konohagakure no Sato, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, was not at all what Ophelia had expected. The sudden change of weather had torn her down to point of depression for she was waiting for a sunny and cheerful kind of climate and not something she was used to in Kirigakure. The rain slammed violently against the window of the carriage as she looked out of it, sulking. Oh how she disliked this weather. She wanted sunshine and warmth and not some drizzling clouds raining down on her once luminous attitude. Her red eyes stared at the rain drops racing down the window till they reached the bottom, disappearing from her sight. She sighed and rolled her eyes in annoyance as she pulled herself back to sit in her seat. “Should’ve stayed in Hot Springs, what.” She whispered more to herself than to Yoroi, for she didn’t want him to feel bad for taking her to Konoha; after all, she had wanted to go. The carriage stopped and Ophelia pulled out a grey hooded sweatshirt with a giant turtle imprinted on it, oh the irony, and pulled it over her head, putting it on. She was cold. Even though she was used to Kirigakure’s climate, still, she needed warmth and cosiness. The exact opposite of what was the case now. Her hair was damp and had started to frizzle in an abnormal manner, for it had become more like a lion mane than long strands of red silk. Her face, even though tanned, had turned a pale colour that wasn’t looking sick, but still much less beautiful than it was normally. In all her irritation and disappointment, Ophelia had placed her hands inside the pouches of the hoodie on the front, her backpack with her things hanging from one shoulder. She had pulled over the hood and the only thing that was visible from her beautiful face, was only her mouth deformed into a tightly pressed together expression of resentment and her long, red, curvy now, hair that reached till down her hips. It was strange to see Ophelia take on such expressions, for she rarely showed that she was discontented with something. She’d always just take it in, ignoring it, expecting it to go away.

Yoroi and she walked under the rain without any protection, the cool raindrops wetting her hoodie profoundly on the head and shoulders. Her red hair had started to turn into thick strands, full of water, weighing down on her chest. Her head hung low as they passed the streets, people with umbrellas passing them by, not even glancing at them. It was most likely that they knew Yoroi for walking around half naked and thus were used to it, or they just didn’t care. Ophelia, surely, noticed. Why wasn’t he wearing a shirt again? Maybe he wanted to be a little show off and brag about his trained body, though that was something Ophelia saw everyday, being a Ninja. Her own body was well formed with extraordinarily good analogies. She eyed his back; the scars she had tended to in the Hot Springs had long disappeared, leaving behind a skin so pure it could have been of a newborn’s. She took psychological satisfaction from this triumph, feeling accomplished that she had helped another person heal his wounds with ingredients found at a Spa. Oh, all the things they put in these Spa bottles good for your health; they indeed were. She smiled if only for a moment, before the rain getting harder. Ophelia let out an upset moan. “Jesus Christ, can it get any worse !?” she rhetorically asked, only to be answered by an angry sky throwing lightning across the sky like sprawled spider webs. Normally this weather wouldn’t have bothered her, but she was tired from the trip and exasperated that Konoha’s weather was much like Kiri’s. Maybe it was her fault, she thought; maybe she was cursed to bring bad weather wherever she went. She chuckled. What nonsense.

They reached what seemed the administration building which was placed in front of the Hokage monument. Ophelia’s head lifted as Yoroi started talking, looking first at him and then the mountain in front of them. Her red eyes shone brightly as she saw the object of her interest, wanting to go see it now. However, Yoroi said that he would bring her later, when he was done with the Hokage and the weather had cleared up a bit. A slight disappointment caressed her face though she quickly nodded and smiled so he wouldn’t discern anything. The Kaguya proceeded to enter the building, the rain trying hard to follow them inside; but it was stopped by the vigorous stone walls. Ophelia followed closely as she didn’t want to get lost inside this huge building that looked more like a labyrinth than an office, oblivious to the fact that Yoroi had never been inside that building either. Being of a high rank she figured that he had been there about a thousand times and knew the way around it like his pocket. She did discern a certain degree of perplexity, though she thought nothing of it, dismissing it as trivial. As they ventured deeper within, she noticed people staring at them and figured it was because of her wearing a hood inside a closed space. Ophelia didn’t care much, though, to move her hands out of the comfy pockets to remove the hood and reveal her face so she just kept on walking behind Yoroi, taking no notice of the staring people. But as they gradually came closer to the Hokage’s office, people started telling them that they couldn’t just go inside and that this was a time not suitable for the Hokage to be visited. Ophelia looked at them in bewilderment, rather embarrassed that they would disturb the Hokage at such an hour for whatever reason Yoroi deemed so important. However, for him to want to speak immediately to the Kage at this hour, it must have been vital, so the Uzumaki didn’t question it. A thought crossed her mind that Yoroi would tell him about her being from Kirigakure, and maybe keep her hostage; in that case, Ophelia was pretty much screwed. Fear ran down her spine before she reminded herself that Yoroi wasn’t that kind of person to do such a thing.

Reaching a door that looked like the Hokage’s, Yoroi, instead of knocking like it was appropriate to do, burst right in in spite of the loud protest of the guards positioned at the door. Ophelia followed Yoroi inside, only to be halted by a grumpy guard, staring at her hood, for that was all he could see. That, and her vibrant red hair.  Ophelia blushed as blood started rushing to her face, looking like she had ran for miles and miles.  Her heart beat really fast. “Where you goin’, kid !?” he said, grabbing tightly her arm. “Inside?” she intensely said with a hint of irony in her voice, as she pulled away from him, freeing herself from his grasp, much more smoothly than a civilian would have done. The guard stared at her, confused, looking for a forehead protector. Before he could say anything, the Genin had already slipped inside the Hokage’s office, closing the door behind her. In the swift motion, her hood had fallen off, revealing all of her stunning features. The redness of her eyes combined with the intense red of her hair gave off a brilliant light, so to speak; she didn’t need a sun to shine, she was her own sun. As her red eyes looked up, she spotted a man sitting on his desk, doing paperwork. As Yoroi spoke, her previous blushing was reinforced, feeling ashamed that he was speaking to his leader in such a way, without any honorifics or anything else. It was strange that she should feel embarrassed, since it wasn’t her Kage or herself who was speaking that way; nonetheless, she felt awful and blushed, colour returning to her face. For now, she just stood there, hands in her pockets, all wet and cold, waiting for the Hokage to reply to Yoroi’s words about the war, all of which he had said she already knew.  She felt a strange warmth building up inside her hoodie; she was anxious.

A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] Vide
PostSubject: Re: A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] EmptySat 07 Sep 2013, 5:07 pm

The female felt extremely uncomfortable in the Hokage’s office, mostly because he wasn’t paying any attention to her. Of course, what had she expected? She was only a Genin after all, nobody important; but still, Ophelia wanted to be noticed by him, she wanted him to actually see her. She didn’t really know why, she didn’t even know this guy; but she felt that something deep inside her wanted him to know what she was, what she hid because she could feel that he could help her and that he would help her. Her feelings were rather mixed up right now, probably because of the tiring trip and the long and deep conversation she had with Yoroi. While the Hokage and Yoroi were talking, well the Hokage was more listening than saying anything really, Ophelia eyed the office. It was large and imposing, fitting a Kage with a window from which you could probably see the whole village if it weren’t raining right now. The girl found a chair in the corner of the room and let herself silently slip down on it, letting her bag to slide on the ground making a silent “thump”. She remained unmoving in her position, too anxious to even breathe. Many minutes passed like this and eventually, Ophelia grew bored. She didn’t like it that the Kage was kind of ignoring her, and thus decided to leave.

Ophelia grabbed her bag silently and slid outside the room after whispering “I’ll be outside.”

She exited the room, closing it silently behind her for she didn’t want to interrupt their discussion, or rather Yoroi’s monologue, and found herself again amongst the guards. They stared at her with an evil expression but did not move to apprehend her or do anything else to her; looks like they realized that she was with Yoroi. The Uzumaki kindly smiled at them, and decided to walk a bit further away for she was feeling uncomfortable next to the towering guards. She walked down the hall lit by candles every half meter, giving off a very shadowy atmosphere. It was really late and really dark so the only people there seemed to be the guards and the Kage himself, Ophelia figured. She continued walking down when she noticed that a guard was following her. She sighed. Why was she always being followed? In a moment of incredible anger and frustration she wanted to turn around and slap the guard but caught herself again quickly and ignored him instead. After all he was just doing his job, protecting the Kage and all. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Ophelia knew the proceedings all too well of how to protect a Kage; or rather, of how important a Kage was. Slowly she reached the exit of the building, the rain still slamming against the wooden door. She sighed again, now because she had to get wet again. Stretching out her hand to open the door, she was too late for the door opened by another’s hand. It was the guard who had been following her. She looked up at him and he slightly smiled which surprised her a bit and made her smile an uneasy smile. She nodded as to say “thanks” and exited the building into the rain.

The sound of rain was calming on her nerves and yet she hated the fact that she was getting wet. At any rate she quickly reached a Hotel and entered, checking in for the night. “I need a shower...” she whispered and made her way to her room.

A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] Vide
PostSubject: Re: A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] A Change of Scenery [P | Spectre & Strawberry] EmptySun 08 Sep 2013, 11:38 pm

Yoroi Kaguya

It seemed that the man had no intention of talking to them, something that did not really work to inspire Yoroi as to believe in the greatness of the Kage. When he came here, he had done so in hopes of gaining some knowledge and getting to know who was in charge of the village and what he was like. What he got was a lack of words and the kind of treatment that was often given to civilians who had come to complain. If this was truly all he was to the village, than that meant that he could stop pulling his weight around the place and do as he pleased, just like a civilian. When Ophelia got up from her seat, she told him that she would be outside. Nodding kindly at her, he waited around for a few more minutes, though he did not receive any useful information at all. That was when he felt a hand on his shoulder and a warm breath in his neck. Looking over his shoulder, he could see that two of the guards he had passed earlier had come up to remove him from the Hokage office. Telling him to leave quietly or be moved by force, Yoroi placed his hand on the one that held his shoulder. With a powerful grip, a twist and a downward pull, he had forced one of the guards to the ground with his arm twisted behind his back, his knee weighing down on him.

"Don't worry about it, I will see myself out, I have seen enough already. Next time, don't touch me again.." Yoroi told the guards as he released his grip on the hand of the one he had just taken down, giving back his freedom as he started moving back to ground level. Yoroi was not the kind of person who enjoyed being touched, let alone being touched by those who believed themselves to be stronger than he was. It was always the same story with those guards, they all believed that they were special because they were granted the privilege to protect an important person, while all it meant was that they were obedient little hounds. Dropping the thought as he went down the stairs, his thoughts went back to Ophelia. He understood quite well why she left, even though she did not really express it. Moving outside, one of the people working in the office closed the door behind him, keeping others from following his example and barging right in without word or an invitation. It was understandable, though Yoroi was a high ranking Shinobi of Konohagakure no Sato and the younger brother of the Sennin, Kimiko Katsumi. That in itself seemed like he could be trusted enough to be spoken to without having to make reservations.

Obviously, he had been wrong about that, proving that this whole Kage business was nothing more than a joke. When he got outside, he looked around the building, even going as far as walking in a circle around it. As hard as he tried, the rain had erased what little of a footprint could have been left behind, keeping him from finding where she had gone. Whether she had chosen to just leave or if someone had taken her when he was inside, there was really no way of knowing what happened. Maybe she had just gone elsewhere in search of shelter, though that in itself seemed weird, knowing for a fact that she had told him how she would be outside, implying that she would be waiting for him there. Aside from that, the village was the largest one of the three, or so he had heard, making it hard for her to find him in all of this, while starting a search for her at this point in time seemed useless. Letting out a deep sigh, it seemed as if their time together was over after this terrible meeting with the Kage of Konoha, and now Ophelia was gone.
