Yamanaka Shinrai has a big and wide figure while at the same time not being fat, standing at a height of 5'9", somewhat tall for someone his age. In addition to that he has long arms and legs and large palms as well. Weighing in at 63 kilograms, he is neither strong nor weak, most of his weight caused by his bone weight and height, and the rest mostly by his muscles. He could careless about his strength for now as he prefers to fight his wars with his mind. He looks like a typical NBA Center, minus a foot in height of course. Rai has typical Yamanaka characteristics and is easy to identify as one. He has light blonde hair and stunning blue eyes. His eyes are sharp and soft, looking quite innocent and pleasant, and shining brightly. His hair is parted to one side and is simultaneously spiky and silky. One can tell that he properly maintains his hair. It is one of his most priced possessions and he often gets complimented for it. He has pale, delicate skin so fair that he often gets called a vampire.
He habitually wears long sleeved shirts to cover his skin and prevent harsh sunburns and tans he often gets due to his light skin tone. Like a disciplined Yamanaka, he emphasizes the color purple in his outfit. His purple shirt with violet vertical stripes on the right sleeve and right side of the chest as well as the left pocket proves this. He has a light purple belt as well. For his bottoms he wears a pair of black pants made of flexible material that looks like jeans but feels like cotton. Also, he often has a medium sized flower popping out from his shirt pocket, a different one each day depending on his mood. As for his footwear, he wears traditional sandals.

Personality:
Yamanaka Shinrai has a complexity of mind that is hard to grasp, especially for individuals who have not known him for a long period of time. He can be an asshole to people he has no emotional ties to. To them he can be deceptive, disloyal and heartless. It takes a lot for a person to eventually leave an impact on him as he is hard to impress. However, when and if he develops a bond with a person, he becomes very loyal and protective of them. So far only his parents and his home village have made such a connection to him.
Once one gets to know Rai more profoundly, one would comprehend his point of view. In general, he only cares about and acknowledges the present, and only the consequences of his actions momentarily. He only thinks about the benefits of his actions that he would get immediately, and not any ill effects that could derive from them on the long run. He often lets his curiosity get the better of him. With a thirst for infinite and eternal knowledge and for absolute dander and endless adventure that he cannot quench and constantly pursues, it is not rare for him to get carried away and more often than not, get into real deep shit. As he is meddlesome and loves to go around poking his nose into others' business, he often gets involved with dangerous individuals, having many as his enemies and an equal amount of enemies of aforementioned enemies (indirect allies). He is quick to betray acquaintances and people he do not necessarily care for, in order to save his own ass from such deep shit. However he does quite the opposite when a loved one is involved.
On small things, Shinrai usually does not care on what his loved ones are up to. Also, he normally acts as though they were not important to him and often treats them as such. He wants to isolate himself from society but loneliness drives him crazy. As such he is grateful for the company of someone he cares about. However he hates to and will not admit that fact. When it really matters, he is always the first to volunteer to aid his mates. When with his mates, he almost always gets the group into trouble with his stupid and unreasonable maneuvers. However he almost always compensates by dealing with and trying as hard as he can to fix the troubles he cause. Always the boy attempts to do these himself. When not with them, he can be quite crude when speaking to strangers or unfamiliar individuals. Also, he often speaks to everyone as if they were all his close friends, even though he never treats them as such. For example he would make up nicknames for strangers and cuss and insult people with a mocking demeanor. Like this, he is very comfortable around everyone. Since he is not shy to talk to strangers and make acquaintances everywhere in and around his village, he is often quick to hear about the latest rumors and happenings in is locality. He is boisterous and obnoxious most of the time. To add to his unlikable characteristics, Rai likes to be presumptuous. He likes to come up with proverbs of his own and use fancy words. Half of the time he just rants bullshit and he himself acknowledges that fact at times. Rarely, these pompous quotes actually do apply and occasionally make him look quite intellectual.
The Yamanaka clansman treats everyone equally, never judging a person on good or bad. He never cares about their villainous or heroic temperaments. If he likes their attitude towards him, he would be quick to accept them. However as he is hard to impress and please, he almost never likes another person right away unless they intrigue him. Thus, he somewhat dislikes everyone equally. As for his actual intellectual capabilities, he is both dumb and smart at the same time. While his lack of foresight lands him in tough positions and causes him to make silly mistake, the boy manages to show momentary skill and wits as he deals with the problems as they come with much cleverness. However, he does not always surprise his foes in the way it would be bad for them. Quite often his silly mistakes cause comical errors and surprise his foes in a way he would be a joke. However, foes that repeatedly take him on and have felt his wrath know otherwise. When it matters, Shinrai tries to think better but his aggressive nature makes it hard for him to do so. He actually has a high IQ but happens to be twice as aggressive as he is intelligent. He is quite competent outside of battle. In quite rare occasions, mostly only when it is absolutely necessary, he displays this full level of intelligence in battle but it is mostly advanced survival instinct. Then again, even when thinking momentarily, he is able to think enough for the momentary consequences its hard to tell he is not thinking for the long run anyway. In short, he likes to deal with problems as they come, and being used to that mindset he is decent at the task.
Shinrai has a very casual take on important tasks as well. Believing in a policy of when everything is left for the last minute, everything can be done in a minute, he chooses to enjoy his life as much as he can and not let little things worry him. When something is left up to him for him to do for himself, he often gets very careless and gives the task no priority. Then again, when doing something for another person, he gives it more priority than his own work. This is not because he does not value himself, more because of the fact that he does. He prefers to spend his time as he wishes when it comes to himself, as he sees that he would have more joy procrastinating than missing out on something fun he could be doing for the sake of prioritizing a task he is going to do at some point anyway. When its for someone else, he prefers to get unburden himself as quickly as he can. Even in battles, Shinrai's casualty can be noticed, especially when he is not amused. He loses interest as quickly as he is intrigued in the first place. Until and unless one has intrigued him thoroughly, one is unlikely to receive his undivided attention - in fights or otherwise.
Shinrai believes he was brought into this world to have fun, explore the world's secrets, gain knowledge on the vast subjects and do his duty for his allegiance (Konohagakure). Rai reads books on varieties of subjects from science to medicine to make progress in his life goals and is very resourceful. However, his specialty is unsurprisingly gossip. Above all, his main ambition is to quench his thirst for infinite and eternal knowledge, the ambition to be a pantomath. He has no clue on how to fully achieve such a feat but dedicates his life to the goal and perseveres it with determination and unabridged adherence.

Yamanaka Shinrai heavily relies on his Katon techniques to aid him in battles. When angry he fires them recklessly. However, when in a serious situation, he tends to seek help from his Genjutsu techniques to set up his opponents and deceive them. He loves confusing and mocking his foes. Since his Hijutsu techniques are hard to pull off in a one on one situation without putting himself in danger, he prefers to use them sparingly. His trump card is Gyoukakku no Jutsu. To start off battles, he likes to use throwing weapons with explosive tags set to explode in front of the enemy in an attempt to provoke or frighten him/her. During battles, he primarily uses Katon and that would be the first thing anyone would notice about his fighting style. Until needed he tends to disregard his Yamanaka Hijutsu and thus if it was not for his obvious outfit with his typical Yamanaka traits, one would find it hard to classify him as a Yamanaka. One who does not know about the Yamanaka traits would not be able to distinguish him from a regular shinobi. However, when working together as a team, he tends to rely on his Hijutsu more, but not as much as his Katon. He tends to use Fuuton on occasion to either power up his Katon or repel enemy attacks. Then again he can be quite creative with his academy jutsu, using them a lot as well. When pressured or outnumbered, he tends to utilize his Genjutsu. Since he likes to deal with things as they come and he tends to plan well when dealing with the problems, he usually shrugs it off with a smirk or gritted teeth when something doesn't go his way. Still, he lets it be and deals with the problem when he has to, should one arise. Special Characteristics:

Name: One-Handed Seals Rank: C Type: Physical Prerequisites: - Training: A 600 word training is required to gain this special characteristic. Restrictions: This cannot be used as a way to perform two jutsu at the same time. Description: the ninja discovers a unique talent which allows them to mix chakra by performing seals with only one hand. With an ability such as this the ninja can fight while also performing jutsu, delivering surprise attacks to their enemies. Since those who can perform one-handed seals are naturally good at what their talents, they are even capable of performing hand seals behind themselves, leaving the enemy oblivious to the ninja's next attack.
Name: High IQ Rank: C Type: Social Based Prerequisites: - Training: A 600 word training is required to gain this special characteristic. Restrictions: - Description: The ninja innately possesses a high IQ which gives them a great deal of practical and analytically prowess. Whilst some might confuse a High IQ with a wealth of knowledge, that is not the case. More often than not possessing a High IQ equates more so to your ability to analyze and work your way through or around problems. To some degree many Shinobi who possess this Special Characteristic can be viewed as quick learners or even prodigies in their chosen areas of study. Like the obvious benefits of being very smart, the ninja may be well regarded for their great mathematical and thinking abilities.
THE BACKGROUND. History:
Birth Arc Yamanaka Shinrai was born in Konoha, as was both his parents. However, not his entire family and his ancestors had been born and raised there. He had roots in Kirigakure but his ancestors had migrated to the Fire Country somewhere along the way. Born into a pure Yamanaka family, he had great expectations from the family elders even before he was born, for his parents were well-learned and very much intellectual even in comparison to other Yamanaka clansmen. The same was expected of their son. Academy Arc As the bar was set really high for him, he was sent to the academy strictly, his parents not allowing him to skip any classes, and even sending him for extra classes. They were strict on him on all fields and taught him discipline. At the same time he was treated with respect and love. One would expect this to polish his personality and make him pleasant, but it was quite the opposite. He always hated how he was kept on a tight leash and resented his intellect early on and initially wished against its development. He loved his parents but hated their expectations of him. However, this soon changed when he was introduced to chakra. It intrigued him so much that he wished to know everything about it. This caused for him to appreciate his competency and started taking interest in education. Eventually he developed the idea of knowledge being the most powerful weapon. So, this happened early on in his life. It was about this time when his little sister was born. She is over 10 years younger to him. Genin Arc Taking an additional year of academy as well as an year spent solely educating himself through books, Rai officially ranked up to a Genin at the age of 15. A little late than the average shinobi, but a Genin nonetheless. He does not let his late promotion discourage him as he knows that the extra years were well spent. His acquaintances regularly called him Shinrai but he feels it to be too formal and insists on being called either Shin or Rai, preferring the latter. He has now made it a priority to join a team and take part in missions to enlighten himself and help in the progress of his village. He now lives in a small room of his own in a hotel like building where he has to earn his living. His parents decided to teach him of independence and he had no objections. His old and healthy parents still spend for and keep in touch with him, but expects him to take care of his basic necessities and expects him to look after his baby sister in the future. However, as of now she plays no significant role in his life as he only rarely goes to visit his obsessive parents, preferring freedom so much more. This is not to be mistaken with his lack of love for them, he sends them gifts on occasion. Roleplay Sample:

Naoki had looked in confusion as Touko had continued to gaze at the stars above without stopping to greet him or say hello. Naoki was bothered a little but did not want to complain. He waited patiently for him to reply. He realized he was in desperate need for something from the way he looked. He looked at his fists as he tightened them and feet as it sent ripples across the lake like a monster snoring. He was confused on why Touko was looking like this. The last time he met him back in the Manguro Marshes sparring with Take, he seemed like a normal kid happy to serve and now he seemed like a desperate, angered child in search of one specific something. Naoki had no idea what the specific something was but he was smart enough to realize of its presence. When he approached him, he expected him to snap out of the vast thoughts he was lost in and so he had walked towards him to thank him.
He was hopeful as he saw Touko's eyes widen, he just knew he would be positive on Naoki's thanking and so he had been, but in a strange manner. Confused as ever, Naoki looked as Touko did not face him as he went on with his thanking and greeting. He was puzzled to how he could remain straight and uninterested as a friend of him had greeted him. Naoki was a strong believer of friendship although he had only recently met his first friends; Hotaru, Touko, and Take. Up till now Naoki values them over his life even though he did not know them well. To be exact he saw Hotaru and Take only once, Touko being the first he saw twice. He waited patiently to see the brightness in his tone as Touko replied. However, he did not see it. He had continued with the second part of the thanking and waited patiently once again for a reply. When he received the first reply, he was just about satisfied. With a sudden smile he placed his right hand on Touko's shoulder and said, "Touko-san? Favors are to be thanked for. Touko-san didn't have to do what he did, he could have left Naoki to suffer but he didn't. It reminded Naoki of an incident in his own past but he won't be drifting into that. Naoki just wants to say thanks for caring for him. Naoki just realized the importance of friendship further so as a friend Naoki would like to repay something for Touko-san in gratitude for his favor that kept him alive," He said amazed by his own words, "So speak up, Naoki would do just about anything!" He said cheerfully. Naoki waited for a reply which didn't come. Touko was drifted in thoughts of his real self and identity and therefore did not turn to face him. Disappointed, Naoki sighed a little.
He had his right hand still on his shoulder as he had looked up and commented on the stars. Still no response he said to himself in his mind. He looked at Touko once more to see him still lost in thought. It was then had he decided to ask him some questions, seeing he was out this late at night all by himself at the lake gazing at the stars lost in thought. As he asked the questions, Touko had finally snapped out of it. He realized this and asked a second and third question. Flooding him with questions, Naoki leaned closer to him, curiously. He then saw him lost in thought again after finally replying. From what he said, Naoki's eyes brightened. So he was right all along! Touko was an orphan as well! At least Naoki had an adoptive parent to look after him, something Touko probably did not have, from what it seems like in his answers. Naoki's eyes brightened further as he looked away from the stars.
"So Touko finally stepped out of it. Say, from what you said I understand you do not have living parents to guide you. From how you acted, I also realized you need a purpose for life. The way you responded at first told me you think of yourself as a random guy going around healing people. That's not true. If you act more sociable, you'll make friends that will last you for an eternity. So stop thinking that way this instant. You might not have someone important to you alive, at least in your mindset you may not," He paused, "From what I have been told by the Sanrinkage, we're all family here so let's act like family for once, pour it all out, don't hide anything from me, tell me the truth about yourself I'll help you like a brother would! I won't hide anything about me either, to be honest my parents died in Konoha, I have an adoptive father however.." He said dropping his third person talking for once, like always full of energy in his words which he rarely says without purpose. He wasn't sick of talking that way but he was teased about it in Konoha childhood and therefore tried to avoid it. He saw the puzzled faces of people who talk to him. Having seen Hotaru's puzzled face, he tried his best not to talk that way. He decided to practice. Childish manner but with that he would be helping out his friends understand his words better.
Naoki looked confused once again as Touko stared at him with cold eyes in an odd fashion, as he told him to attack him, Naoki stepped a feet back in self defense. From his voice he could see he was getting out of control or something. "What are you talking about? You want me to injure you in turn for you healing me? That's pathetic, I wouldn't do such a thing!" He said, "If you want a friendly spar, I'll provide you with it, if not I'm afraid we're gonna have to drop the idea."

Name: Henge no Jutsu • Transformation Technique Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique transforms the user’s appearance to that of another object or person. However, it is not a permanent transformation and a mental image of what they are transformed into. Certain aspects of a ninja will not change merely by transformation, these things may include injuries, tool pocket placements etc. The jutsu will dispel should the user be injured. The user does not gain the properties of their transformation (ie. horse like strength), and may only transform into something ranging between 1/2 of their regular size, to 2x their regular size. Thus one cannot transform into large creatures. Chakra Cost: 1
Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu • Body Replacement Technique Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: 10 meters Element: N/A Description: After performing a tiger seal, this technique allows the user to alter places in a speedy manner with another nearby object. This is done mere seconds before an attack lands, thus making the attacker believe his or her attack was a success. Whatever object was used to alter places will receive the brunt of the enemy’s attack instead. The object that the user switches with must be preset somewhere else in the thread, meaning that the object must have received specific mention previously in the thread. Chakra Cost: 2
Name: Explosive Tag: Activate Rank: E Type: Fuuinjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to activate an explosive tag they have planted somewhere. Preferably they should be within close to mid range and visible to the user. You cannot activate another persons explosive tags unless your chakra has been channeled into them beforehand. Name: Kai • Release Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: By stopping the flow of chakra in their body, and then applying an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra; the user may dispel the effects of a genjutsu. This can also be used on another individual that is stuck in a genjutsu by preforming the necessary hand seal and then touching them, although it consumes half the chakra cost of the Genjutsu. Name: Nawanuke no Jutsu • Escaping Skill Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to free themselves should they be tied up. It is extremely basic. Using their physical training, the user will twist and contort their body to loosen their bindings, effectively relieving themselves of the tightness of their bindings and slipping through the restraints. This technique can only be used if the user is of equal or higher rank than their captor. Chakra Cost: 1
Name: Chozou no Jutsu • Storage Technique Rank: E Type: Fuuinjutsu, Supplementary Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: A simple jutsu that allows a ninja to seal or unseal any item, mostly weapons, from scrolls or from their body. After forming the necessary handsigns, the ninja will seal the item into a scroll etc. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons or have other seals inside of them, which expands the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use. The items themselves are unaffected by time. Ninjutsu can also be stored in scrolls, to be released when the scroll is opened, but require another person to cast said Ninjutsu; else it cannot be sealed. Chakra Cost: 1 to seal; 1 to unseal.
Name: Suimen Hokou no Waza • Act of Water Surface Walking Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: NA Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on water by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet or hands. Because of water’s nature, this requires the user to be quick to adjust the amount of chakra they must emit to their feet in order to maintain a constant balance. Users may also walk, run and “skate” across the water when using this technique. Chakra Cost: 1 (1 per post)
Name: Kinobori no Waza • Act of Tree Climbing Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on trees and vertical walls by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet. Gravity can easy be defined if this technique is mastered, allowing people to even stand upside down. If too much chakra is exerted the user will be pushed away; bark breaking and causing the user to then fall. If not enough chakra is exerted the user will lose their footing and fall. Name: Shinranshin no Jutsu | Mind Transfer Jutsu Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m), Mid (5m - 10m), Far (10+) Element: - Description: Mind Transfer Jutsu is a technique used by the members of the Yamanaka clan. This technique allows the user to enter the mind of another person or even an animal. The user transfers their consciousness to the opponent, giving them complete control of the body for the duration. Their original body is left defenseless while this jutsu is active, leaving it susceptible to attack until they return. The mind transfer is quick but moves in a straight direction, and takes a few seconds to return to the user's body if it misses. Should any physical injury befall the victim's body while the mind-link is active, it would cause the user's body to also receive those same injuries. For example, should the victim's arm be detached, the user's arm would be detached as well, leading to the conclusion that, should the victim die, the user would also die. This can be rectified if user cancels the jutsu before the victim's body receives the damage. This technique can be used on both characters, and NPC. Chakra Cost: 5CP (Additional 2CP Per Post)
Name: Ninpo Bakudan Konbo | Ninja Bomb Combo Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Element: - Description: Ninpo Bakudan Konbo is a technique used by the members of the Yamanaka clan. The user throws three exploding kunai from their hand towards a target, and with their other hand forms a seal which paralyzes the enemy in the kunai's mid flight. The target may only be paralyzed if they were standing still during the formation of the seal. The enemy is unable to move for a few seconds and by that time the three kunai would detonate, destroying the target in a massive explosion. Unfortunately there is a two second relapse between the paralysis wearing off and the tags detonating, providing the target a slim chance of escaping. Chakra Cost: 8CP
Name: Seishinetsudoku | Mind Reading Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m) Element: - Description: Seishinetsudoku is a technique used by the members of the Yamanaka clan. By placing a hand on the target's head, the user will be able to enter the target's subconscious and extract any information needed, even if the target has forgotten it himself or has had it blocked. One may not learn specific details such as secret clan jutsu through this method. Chakra Cost: 6CP
Name: Yamanaka's Telepathic Communication Rank: C-A (C) Type: Clan Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m), Mid (5m - 10m), Far (10+) Element: - Description: Yamanaka's Telepathic Communication a special technique used by the members of the Yamanaka clan. This technique allows the user to telepathically communicate with others at distances in proportion to the amount of chakra focused into this technique. At C Rank the user can telepathically communicate to others within Close range. At B Rank the user can communicate with others in Mid Range. At A Rank the user can communicate with others within miles. Retaining constant telepathic communication slowly drains the users chakra. This technique may only be used on comrades. Name: Yōso no Renshū - Element Practice Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m) Element: Variable Description: The most simplistic of techniques, it is precisely what is says on the tin; practicing elemental manipulation. The technique serves no purpose in battle, but simply serves to give one practice with their respective elements, and more importantly, using elemental chakra. Those with an affinity with fire focus on the raging ferocity of the flame, generating small flames along their fingers and palms, shifting them back and forth from hand to hand. Those with an affinity for wind focus on the free-flowing, easy-going but erratic nature of wind, coaxing the air into tiny whirlwinds in the palms of their hands, spinning leaves like tops. Those with an affinity for lightning focus their minds on the wild, erratic, spastic and unpredictable nature of lightning, tracing small sparks in electrical patterns from hand to hand. Those with an affinity for earth focus on the resilient, unyielding nature of stone, taking small rocks and pebbles and slowly shaping them in their hands. Those with an affinity for water focus on the flowing, flexible nature of water, gathering a small trickle and coaxing it into intricate patterns with their fingers. Chakra Cost: 1 per post
Name: Burēdo no Ha - Blades of Leaves Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0 - 5m) Element: - Description: Burēdo no Ha is a ninjutsu technique utilizing leaves. By using the leaves that are scattered across the ground in the surrounding five metre radius, the user is able to lift ten leaves by using chakra alone and launch them at their opponent. If contact is made, the intended target will suffer from small scratches that the leaves have to offer. Range: Line of Sight Element: - Description: Shinrai takes out the blossomed flower from his shirt pocket, raises it up in the air and lets it go, allowing it to fall. Should his opponent(s) (or allies) see the falling flower, the Gejutsu is cast on them (the one/s who saw the flower). At first, the affected person would notice the flower changing its color repeatedly into all the colors of the rainbow until it hits the floor. Then, weapons around the affected person start looking like vibrant flowers and everything else looks half saturated in an attempt to distract the target(s) by drawing their attention to the colorful 'flowers'. The affected weapons are: Shuriken, Senbon, Kunai, Makibushi, Exploding Notes, and Smoke bombs. No two objects (be it of the same type or otherwise) are the exact same shade of color, all of them are bright, flashy and in different shades. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon. Chakra Cost: 5 b]Name:[/b] Katon Bunshin no Jutsu - Fire Clone Technique Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m), Mid (5m - 10m) Element: Katon Description: Katon Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes fire to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Katon Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target, but none utilizing chakra. The range of the clone is limited however, it can travel no further than 10 meters from the original body. If the Katon Bunshin is injured, the clone will revert into a stream of fire that reaches two meters in height before dissipating. Chakra Cost: 7 (Per clone) Restrictions:
- No weapons, armor, or equipment can be replicated to have above C-rank quality.

If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. After forming the needed hand seals, the user will send a strong gust of wind towards his/her target.
