Though she is a kunoichi of the village Konoha, Viridian does not often wear her hitai-ate directly, instead opting to have the metal band of it sewn into the right sleeve of her jacket. She does keep a spare of it, one with a white cloth, but does not carry this spare around without a good reason to, such as visiting another village or venturing outside of Konoha at all.

SEMBLANCE;
Though short in stature, Viridian handles herself in away that would make you think she was already an adult, far from her actual age of elven. Her red hair parts at the top left and sways down to cover her forehead and brace the sides of her face to give accent to the natural shape of it. Just below her green eyes are two tear-like marks that she's had since birth, black as the night. Her skin is light but fair, not too pale and not too tanned, which suits her just fine. Her right hand has a star on the palm of it, a tattoo applied by cutting into her hand in that fashion constantly for a few weeks, causing it to scar permanently. Though she's homeless, it's extremely rare to find dirt on her, since she hates filth so much and will go out of her way to clean herself off if she can.

Generally, she wears just about the same outfit most of the time. It almost always consists of her black coat with the Konohagakure Hitai-Ate sewn into the right sleeve on the upper bicep, just below the shoulder. Aside from that, the coat is relatively simple - it's made of simple smooth cloth and is very comfortable to wear, and keeps her safe from the natural elements of the world. Under the coat, she has bandages wrapped around her chest, with a black t-shirt over them. She also wears a pair of white shorts, with a black skirt over them that goes to just a few inches above her kneecaps. Since she can be a bit acrobatic and carefree, she tries to wear the shorts to make sure no one thinks she's a pervert by just displaying her underwear. Her white socks go up to just under halfway on her thighs, and she wears short boots that cover just above her ankles but have a one-inch sole on them to make her look five feet tall.

Overall, the short red-haired and green-eyed girl is a bit gentle to look at. She may be a bit mature for her young age, but for the most part she's still a child, and looks it. She's a bit scared that she'll never grow much taller, since she's been the height she's at for almost a year now, but she tries not to display the fear at all. Her childlike looks could always prove to be useful, as she tells herself.

GENERAL;
Most people get treated roughly the same. Viridian views everyone as a strange family, and for that reason dislikes killing unless it's unavoidable. When she can, she likes to view everyone as direct siblings to herself; this usually ends in her caring for them more than she should, and treating them much like an older sister would treat their baby brother. She tries her best to be patient with most people, unless they've previously irritated her, in which case her grudges can last a lifetime and a half.

ELDERS;
Elders of a village have earned the respect they should be given, and the respect they are given by Viridian. Even the elders who have never been shinobi or kunoichi, but were regular farmers or other such types of citizens of the village, they deserve at least SOME level of respect. Due to that, Elders are not treated as siblings, but as direct parents. She listens to what they have to say, and relatively enjoys listening to their stories.

CHILDREN;
While most people get treated like Viridian is an elder sister to them, this extends far beyond the standards when it comes to children. Especially those under the age of six, Viridian will stop anything else she's doing to help when they're in need, and gods help the person who makes a child cry in front of her.

ANIMALS;
Having been able to talk to them for as long as she can remember, Viridian has fallen in total love with animals of all sort, and enjoys talking with them and finding out how their days were and their lives so far and the uniqueness of each different species of animal. Her favorite type to talk to are birds, because they can see so much from way up high and always have the most interesting stories, in her opinion.

SYNOPSIS;
Viridian enjoys taking care of people even though she has no skill with eiseijutsu, and tends to view things as an elder sister would with most situations. Everyone is a family in her eyes, and killing is an absolute last resort that nothing else could ever possibly solve and it absolutely HAS to be done. Also, animals are cute; especially the fuzzy ones.

COMBAT STYLE
When it comes to combat, Viridian has something most others do not possess. While most shinobi have the capacity to utilize two elements to their advantage, few -- especially those of Genin rank -- Viridian has access to three unique and distinctive elements.

Raiton is used at long ranges to incapacitate opponents and prevent them from continuing to fight. The Konoha Genin also uses the element of Lightning to her advantage when it comes to melee combat, as she can coat her weapons in the element and cause mayhem in physical combat. Doton is primarily used as a form of defense against most other elemental attacks, thanks to her ninjutsu specialty in that using it to block other elements is very effective in most cases. Fire is snuffed, water is impeded, lightning is grounded out, wind is halted and other earth cancels out. With use of these two basic elements of her, Viridian manages to handle herself in most situations.

When it's called for, however, she also has access to a third element: Shouton, the release of crystal. Viridian doesn't like to carelessly use her crystal powers, and tries to only use her two basic elements. When she absolutely has to, though, Viridian will not relent in her use of Shouton. Due to its adaptability, it can be used for offense as well as defense, almost simultaneously. She doesn't usually use her weapons while she's using her elements, unless it's close-range raiton and there's no other option, but she does also have access to a range of weaponry; she likes to keep it simple, though, and stick to just using two katanas and two ninjato, usually alternating which hand has which type of weapon in it, keeping the enemy on their toes about how she will attack and do her things.

THEY CAME UPON ASH;
The Eta-Naru clan stems from Iwagkure. They were a clan of farmers and other such people, and none from their clan were ever very good at manipulating chakra. Eventually, the stone got bland to those in charge, and the clan requested to leave; since none among them were ninjas, the Tsuchikage granted this leave, and they departed.

Over the course of the next few years, the Eta-Naru clan slowly traveled around, looking for a good place to settle down and handle their farms. This search eventually took them into Hi no Kuni, the land of Fire; here, the grass was very green and the dirt was rich with nutrients. They settled down around the border of Hi no Kuni and Raikou no Kuni, the land of Lightning. On the border of the two countries, the Eta-Naru clan continued their farming lifestyle for quite some time, until a ninja from Konohagakure discovered them, on his way to Kumogakure. This ninja did not wish to disturb their lifestyle, but did want to help out in any way he could, and did so by clearing some heavy boulders and helping to fashion their life just a bit better before departing on his way.

Around a year later, another ninja came into their village. He'd been told their location by the first visitor, but he was not quite as kind. He asked if there were ways he could help to gain their trust, and promptly began destroying their houses and farms and livestock. The members of the clan Eta-Naru were not able to use Chakra very well and had no training in it, so the ninja who was using his jutsu proved to be too much for them to handle. Eventually the ninja got bored and left, not wanting to eradicate the clan but just scare them because he could. Most of the clan elders passed away soon after, unable to restart the entire farm and village they'd created.

The younger clan members were set into groups of four and outfitted as best they could be afforded to and set off in different directions to find other clans or villages and spread their clan out, while the rest of the Eta-Naru were going to do what they could to survive in the remains of their village. One such group contained a male who was unaware of it, but was able to manipulate chakra far better than anyone else in the clan ever had. This group found its way to a bigger village that was only a few day's travel from their home village, and after entering it and gaining permission for the whole clan to move in, the group went back to their home to tell the others of it.

They came upon ash.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS;
The four people in that group, all of whom were male, were the only survivors of the Eta-Naru clan. They had managed to avoid the ninja returning with friends to finish off the village, and came upon only the ashes of their former home. They spent a day going through everything they could to find news of the event or even a single survivor, but nothing was to be found. The Eta-Naru were all but extinct, and these four were the end of the line.

They journied back to the other village slowly, taking two days despite it being under a day the first trip. When they got there, the village elders of the new home were told the situation and were given a house to themselves, where the four could live temporarily until better arangements could be made. Over the next few years, two of the four passed away from natural causes and other such sicknesses.

The two who remained both agreed that they did not want the Eta-Naru to die out, and convinced each other that they would need to reproduce in order to keep the clan alive, and so they did. The next three years were spent by those two finding people they could fall in love with and did, marrying and having only a few children each. The man who was able to barely manipulate chakra had a child with a woman who excelled at it, and their child was able to do it just due to that fact.

Their son, Ryuuja, would never know the history of the Eta-Naru clan, but instead be told that it was a great clan and was well known in another country, but was never told what country that was. Ryuja would pass that knowledge on this own child, who would probably end up doing the same forever. The six Eta-Naru -- the two men, their wives and each of their one child -- now called this village their home.

During his teenage years, Ryuuja was taken by a few of the other villagers into Konoha for trade, so that he could see the greatest village of the Fire Country. This was done by shinobi, with the civilians blindfolded as to never know the path into the village, due to being a secret from the rest of the world. When they were at the gates to Konoha, the blindfolds were taken off and the citizens could view the great village from the outside before being taken in.

Once inside, Ryuuja found the village very much to his liking. He requested to stay, and after much deliberation his request was granted. He spent the next few years working odd jobs and getting any money he could until he found an apartment, and lived his life working as hard as he could before he found her.

VIRIDIAN;
The girl whom Ryuuja had found and instantly fallen in love with was named Kesshou Viridian, and it was with her that Ryuuja had his first and only child; a girl. During childbirth, Viridian passed away due to complications, which left Ryuuja all alone to raise the daughter he named after her, Viridian.

The child had her mother's Kekkei Genkai of Shouton, and it was due to that fact that she was let into the academy early, as to not cause accidents with her special element. One day on her way back from the academy, her father was missing. Completely gone, never to be seen again. She had no idea if he'd left or been killed or what, but he was never found. Using the money in the house she could find, Viridian continued living as best she could in the house all alone and going to the academy, but eventually the rent was not payable, and she snuck out into the streets to keep herself from going to a foster home, being too scared of them.

Without her father to guide her in life, Viridian matured rather quickly; in her mind, it was either 'be and adult', or 'die'. She didn't have any choice, and did her best to adapt to the situation she was in. For the next two years she continued living wherever she could find a shelter, using the training grounds' rivers and lakes to bathe herself and keep her appearance up so no one would ever know she was all alone in the world. At the age of eleven she graduated the academy, since she'd entered a year early due to her clan powers from her mother.

"Sweetie?" The voice called out, though the girl was too far gone to be able to respond. "It's time to wake up, darling. The sun's up, now." With a soft grunt, the small girl turned over onto her side, as if to argue a point that she was still tired and wanted to sleep more. "I know hun, I know... but if the sun is up, it's time to wake up. Isn't that our rule?" Whining loudly, the girl brought her blanket over her head and covered her eyes, wordlessly saying that she couldn't see the sun so it wasn't up. The man speaking laughed quietly, and then sat down on the edge of the bed, and shifted to laying next to the girl. "Your mother was the same way, you know. She refused to wake up until she was ready."

"She was?..." The little girl asked, peeking her vividly green eyes out from under the blanket, pupils shrinking due to the sudden influx of light. With the light the way it was, she could only see the silhouette of the man laying on the bed with her, but she knew very well what he looked like.

"Yeah, almost identical. You two are so similar it scares me sometimes... but I love you such an incredible amount, Viridian." He leaned forward, pressing his lips to the small red-haired girl's forehead, and she could feel him smiling as he did so. "You'll never understand just how much I love you." As the man pulled off, the girl smiled back.

"Of course I do, daddy! You're my dad, you love me like all parents!"

"No," the man spoke through the stifle of a laugh, "I love you much more than any other parent loves their child."Her father stood up and pulled the blanket off in one swift motion, causing her to whine loudly again as she covered her face. "Now come on! Let's go up to the Hokage Monument for some breakfast, 'kay?"

"Okay," the girl stated meekly. Her hands were moved from her face and the light blinded her once more but briefly. Wincing to block out what was unnecessary, the ginger girl slowly accustomed her eyes to the brightness of the light as she suddenly felt her heart sink and a twang of emptyness appear inside her as she realized what had just happened.

"No," she called out softly, "No god please no..." Though there was no one around her, she didn't care if anyone was as she brought both hands to her face and sat up in one motion, emptying her tears into her hands and crying loudly and hard. "Why would you..." as much as she wanted to finish that question, she was unable to do so, her tears getting in the way. A hundred and two questions were rattling in her brain, the least of which was not why she would dream of that particular morning.

Sitting there in the grass, knees clenched tightly to her chest and arms pressed into her eyes to prevent her from crying anymore, the green-eyed kunoichi had a thought. What if, it went, I'm supposed to go to the Hokage Monument?

She'd heard of Genjutsu doing crazier things than implant an idea in someone, and she didn't know how Genjutsu worked on someone while they were asleep. There was certainly potential for there to be something at the Hokage's Monument that she was supposed to discover... her father didn't have any chakra affinity that she knew of, but he could have easily hid it or had someone else do it for him. May after all these years, she'd finally see him again and get to ask him those questions she needed to; maybe, after all these years, she finally wouldn't be alone again.

Resolving herself to get to the Hokage Monument, Eta-Naru Viridian pulled herself to her feet, still visibly shaking. The skin under her clothing was wet with sweat as she tried to control herself, but she simply couldn't. She was too anxious from the thought of meeting her father again and too nervous from the dream she'd had; a dream she hadn't had in years. Randomly having it again... it had to be a sign. There had to be a reason.

She couldn't go to the Hokage's Monument and possibly meet her father covered in dirt and sweat, though, could she?

It was still very early in the morning; not even eight yet. The sun was just barely over the trees on the horizon, and there was plenty of shade under the trees she'd slept by. The village would still be waking up as a whole during this time, so now would be the best chance she had to do what she needed to. The girl pulled off her gloves and unzipped her coat, taking that off as well and laying both on the grass next to her. After removing her shirt as well, she began unwrapping the bandages around her chest and rolled them up, laying them on top of the pile as well. Next off was the skirt, and then her boots, followed by her socks. All that she had on for clothing was her shorts and undergarments now, both of which came off at once as she, now naked, placed her hands together in a quick string of hand seals, performing one of the more basic jutsu in her arsenal: Henge no jutsu!

The girl transformed into a clothed version of herself. She picked up the pile next to her and walked with it into the village, entering a house she knew cleaned clothes for a price. Pulling out the ryou she would need for her clothing, Viridian nervously placed it in the old lady's hands, who took her clothes and promptly started washing them. She'd done this before, but she was always nervous of the henge dropping for some reason, and she was always extra careful when in the henge because of that fear.

With her clothes being cleaned, Viridian had just over an hour to get anything else she needed to get done, done. The girl took this opportunity to head back out to the lake she always spent her time at if there was nothing else to do, glad that no one else would be in the area just yet. If people stuck to their schedules, she had at least half an hour before people even started heading up here, and well over an hour before anyone headed to this part of the lake. She dispelled the henge, stepping into the cool water of the crystal clear lake.

"I haven't been to the Hokage Monument since..." she started speaking out loud, but stopped when she realized that she was, in fact, speaking aloud. I haven't been there since the picnic, her mind continued, where dad told me everything i know about mom...

The red-haired girl spent a good twenty minutes just soaking in the comfortably cool water of the lake, then wiped herself down and got out, letting herself drip dry and shaking to get it off before she reapplied the henge technique, looking again like a clothed version of herself.

She still had plenty of time before her clothes were ready, so she kneeled onto the ground and sat on her ankles, bringing her fingertips together and closing her eyes. She remembered the old man in white telling her how to meditate, and breathed slowly, allowing her chakra to flow peacefully through her body, unobstructed by any natural means.

"Getting better?"

When she opened her eyes and scanned the area, no one was anywhere to be found. She stood up, looking up at the sky to notice the sun wasn't where it last was, and instead at least an hour had passed. Still in her henge form, the girl headed back into the village carefully and gratefully took her clothes from the kind old cleaner lady, heading into a back alley of Konohagakure to disperse the Henge once more. The clothing was comfortable and warm and soothing to the touch, so she took no delay in putting it all on. She wrapped up her torso in the bandages, slipped her shirt over her head and then pulled on her underwear and shorts, attaching her skirt and then slipping on her coat, socks and boots coming after followed by her gloves. Fully clothed, she stepped out of the alleyway and was glad no one was around, before she turned and started walking towards the Hokage's Monument.

Let's find out exactly why I had that dream.
