Rosuto Kaguya was born in the Hidden Mist to a small family consisting of only his mother [Akane Kaguya] and her husband [Yue Tsukino]. The shinobis had a strenuous relationship before his birth as his mother always suspected his father of cheating. Her reasoning was that his father would always go out on missions for long periods of time and one of the kunochi in his team had a "thing" for him and so did he for her. Amaya would never confront Yue for the fact that she loved him too much and felt that she would rather be hurt with him than without. Well that mindset she kept for years until she came home from a mission early and seen Yue and the other woman in their bed. She was heartbroken and in a fit of rage tried to kill the other woman, but she managed to escape. Yue managed to calm her down with his charm and whispering sweet nothings as he swore that he only cared for her and that Hana [the other woman] meant nothing to him. Akane would let the words keep her calm, but deep down she knew that her husband would continue to do her wrong.

Soon after that, Akane was sent on another mission to hunt down and kill a shinobi from the Kumogakure. For what reason she was never told, but it was clear the man had to die for the better sake of the village and since she had alot of built up anger, she was the best for the job. When she departed the village, she knew that Yue would cheat on her again, but she vowed to not let that interefere with her mission. After days of hunting down the man, she finally found him and was going to kill him until he did something that none of her shinobi experience prepared her for. He told her that he would be just fine with dying at her hand as she was the most beautiful kunochi he had ever laid his eyes on. At first she started to attack him, but it was clear he wasn't going to try to stop her. Akane stared the man over and (using her sensory abilities and her own opinion) decided he was alot better of a person than her husband and decided to not kill him. Instead she was overrun with emotions that she hadn't felt in such a long time that for once, she cheated on Yue. When it was time to go back to the village, she took the man's headband as proof she "killed" him and returned home.

9 months later, Akane was in the hospital delievering a child. Yue was estatic that this was going to be his first child, but when Rosuto was born, something wasn't right. He had his mother's white hair but his skin tone was darker than either of the two and his eyes were light blue. Yue became enraged at the thought that his wife had been cheating and he wanted to know who the real father was. After weeks of looking around the village, it was clear whoever it was wasn't from the village and this led him to tell the Mizukage that Akane had failed her mission and didn't kill the man but instead slept with him. Hearing this enraged the Mizukage as well and sent for Akane to be killed, but she already knew that this would happen. She had already put Rosuto in a little basket with a note and left him in a back alley before skipping out the town to go be with her Kumogakure lover. Yue and the other shinobi searched endlessly for the woman and did find her with her lover on the way to Kumogakure and a fight broke out. By the time the fight was over Yue, Akane, and a few ANBU members were dead and the one that survived was her lover who continued back on his way to his home village.

A few hours after leaving the baby behind, an old man that was walking home found the basket and read the note inside. It stated that whoever found this child needed to raise it as their own and never tell him that his parents left him. Thinking hard on it, the old man decided that he would take the kid home to live with him. This is how the story of the "Orphan of the Mist" begins.

Some years passed by and the incident concerning Akane and Yue had died down as it was kept on a need to know basis among the higher ups. The child that was involved was presumed dead, but in all actuality, Rosuto [now 7 1/2 yrs old] was alive and well. The old man [Tatsuo] that saved him on that night had raised the young boy as if he were his own. He taught him values such as respect and loyalty and even taught him the basics on swords and how to make them as he himself was a retired blacksmith. His work during his glory days consisted of creating fine swords for magnificent shinobis and each weapon was a work of fine art. As Rosuto grew up, instead of getting bedtime stories, the old man told him about the legendary Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and the legendary blades that they each wielded. The young boy's favorite blade was Nuibaru and he would often dream about one day becoming a swordsman just so he could obtain the blade and use it. Tatsuo would find enjoyment in the his wild ambitions but his enjoyment would only grow as he would watch as the young boy began practicing making swords and then training with them. He would watch as with every sword he made his technique became better and with every time he trained his sword handling skills improved. It would only be a matter of time before the boy could handle a blade as well as a typical shinobi.

By the time Rosuto turned 9, he felt as if he had Kenjutsu down enough to hold his own against an opponent with his handmade Wakizashi and to test his theory out Tatsuo agreed to spar with him. Now it was clear that Tatsuo was a sword master himself and taught Rosuto everything that he currently knew, but he decided to go easy on the boy. Swing for swing the two went at it back and forth going on the attack and then going right back on the defensive until the boy began feeling tired. Sweating like crazy and looking as if he was going to pass out, Tatsuo decided it was time for them to stop, but Rosuto refused and asked how could he become the best swordsman if he simply quit? How could he join the Seven Swordsmen if he was only going to tire out and give up? This put a smile on the elderly man's face as he seen the boy start running at him once again delievering another set of impressive swings of his sword. The man continued to duck and dodge the attacks until he found an opening and delievered a pretty decent strike with the hilt of his cane to Rosuto chest knocking him out for the count. He went to pick him up and put him on his shoulder as he knew that the day would come soon enough for the kid to get his chance at becoming the best he could be. A few weeks after the intense spar between student and teacher, Tatsuo decided it would be best if he enrolled Rosuto into Kirigakure's Ninja Academy. At first the young boy was a little scared since he had never really left the house let alone be away from the old man.

Rosuto wasn't too sure how to feel as he seen all the different kids enter into the class. Some were short, some were tall, some were skinny, some were fat, but for the most part the entire class was lighter than himself and came in with their parents. This was a little odd to him and kind of struck home with him. All of the students had both their mother and father with them and all he had was an old man that he called his grampa. What was at first sadness in his heart turned to spite as he had started feeling as if the entire class was beneath him. As he continued to think to himself, the sensei came in a Chuunin named Daisuke. He looked quite tough and very intimidating as he had a scar that covered the entire left side of his face. The man began speaking on what was expected of them and that began the first day of class. Everyday afterwards was nothing but hardwork and intense training preparing the students for the life of a shinobi and everything that was expected of a Kirigakure shinobi.

A few months had passed since the Academy started and it was clear that it wasn't for everybody. Students were dropping out left and right because of how tough the courses were, but for the ones that were still in the program, they were showing great improvements. Rosuto's Kenjutsu skills only got more impressive as he began to do more than just random swings but use more precision and deliever more power in his strikes. He also began to show skill in Ninjutsu as he had started training for his Suiton chakra element as what most Kirigakure shinobi posessed. The first two jutsus he learned for his element were the basic techniques that Kirigakure was known for; Mist Clone technique and the Hidden Mist technique. He felt like he was getting closer to his dreams of becoming a Swordsman with the training he was recieving both from the Academy and at home with Tatsuo. During the days, he worked nonstop training his Suiton techniques while sparring with his classmates showing them his strength with a sword, more specifically his Wakizashi. During the nights, he trained even harder with his sword trying to develop better stances and fighting styles to utilize his greatest potential. The old man couldn't believe the progress the young boy was making at such a young age and was proud of the kid. He decided that since it was getting closer to his graduation that he would do something special for the boy as he knew something about the young boy that would indeed help him achieve his goals.

The week before graduation, Tatsuo took Rosuto to the outskirts of the village for a special kind of training. He knew that Rosuto was a Kaguya and therefore in his blood he had the physical prowess that would help him become even better than he could've possibly thought. The two began to spar as usual the only exception being they couldn't use their swords or any kind of technique. Basically it was hand-to-hand combat and the boy wasn't too sure why they would do something like that if he wanted to be a swordsman seeing to be that you needed a sword and not fists. The old man explained to him that there will be times that he wouldn't be able to use his sword and therefore he needed to use hand to hand combat. Feeling that Tatsuo knew what he was talking about, Rosuto didn't argue and the fighting began. As usual the boy thought he'd have the upper hand because of his age, but once again he was wrong. For an old man, Tatsuo was quite strong and delievered strong punches that would send him skidding back everytime a hit landed. To his surprise every punch felt harder and harder and he began to realize that the old man wasn't planning on going easy this go around.

The fight dragged on and Rosuto grew tired and began aching as he wasn't too sure how much more he could endure. It got to the point where he was kneeled down on the ground and he could barely look up to see the old man running at him. Tatsuo yelled to him to brace himself and right as he was going to land the finishing punch something unpredicatable happened. Rosuto had closed his eyes and winced under the pain as his entire body began to hurt but the pain wasn't what he expected from a simple punch. He opened his eyes and realized that his entire body was covered in bones protruding from his skin somewhat like a porcupine. The old man was standing back holding his hand that was bleeding but had a smile on his face. The reason being was he knew that if he beat the boy enough that he'd eventually tap into his inner strength and Kaguya blood. . . or die. Luckily his hypothesis was right and young boy discovered his ability. However the reaction wasn't the same for Rosuto as he was freaking out as he had no idea what had happened. Tatsuo went on to explain to him that they would work on it over time but in the meanwhile it was good to know that he carried on a bloodline that most thought was extinct. The kid nodded as he figured the old man did always have his reasons for doing things and after he calmed down, the bones retracted back into his body. The two decided that was enough training for one day and began there journey home.

The day of graduation had finally arrived and it was quite a grand day for the remaining students and their parents for what had started out as a class of 30 was now only 12. The village had once been known as the "Bloody Mist" because of the brutal way of how graduation was held but nowadays it was held with spars. Everyone would pass since they made it as far as they did, but it would help classify the Academy Students into their respective Genin teams. This did not matter to young Rosuto as he felt that he would not only win his sparring matches, but also prove to the spectators that he was the greatest the Academy had to offer. The instructor, Daisuke, spoke a little before the matches began as he said how proud he was of all the remaining students for their hard work and how he was glad to have them all. He talked a little more about some irrelevant things that the kids had no concern for and then he finally announced that the matches would begin and just like that everyone cheered.

Matches started and the young shinobi fought each other with the various techniques they learned. It was an impressive group of students as they all offered something different. Ninjutsu that Chuunin would use, Taijutsu that left holes in walls and craters in the floors, Genjutsu that ruined some kids heads, even a few others using their Puppetry and Medical skills were showing great skill. It was an amazing site that so many young ninjas were capable of such great feats and they all reigned from Kirigakure. Well as impressed as everyone else was with the matches, Rosuto acted as if he didn't care. He was ready to get his fight in so he could reveal his Kenjutsu skills that no one else in the Academy could compare to. Then the time came and his name was called. The moment he was waiting for. He rushed to the stage where he fought against some random kid that he didn't really pay attention to in class. Needless to say the fight was over fairly quickly since the other kid was only mediocre in Taijutsu and was in no way capable of holding his own against Rosuto. His fight was the last fight and after everyone's wounds were tended to, the actual graduation of handing out headbands began. The Kirigakure headband that all Kirigakure shinobi wore was a great honor to have and Rosuto was so happy he managed to become one. Just turning 11 a few days afterwards, he was a Genin but didn't even smile as he recieved his headband and tied it around his neck.

Months after passing the Genin Exam, Rosuto was still working hard at his training. He would start during the early mornings before the sun rised and continue on until the skies were pitch dark with only the moon providing his lighting. All he did was train and push himself to be even better. How could he rest from training when there was so much more for him to accomplish, especially with his newfound Kaguya abilities. Those abilities along with his kenjutsu would provide him the tools he needed to achieve his potential greatness. However, his grampa began to fear for the young boy. Often he would wonder how could one child be so driven to constantly train and work instead of enjoying his youth and making friends. Tatsuo suggested plenty of times for the boy to go out and make friends and even went as far as kicking him out the house so he had no choice, but that didn't stop him from training. Rosuto would still go find a secluded area away from people to hone his skills. He felt as he finished every training session that he grew closer to perfecting his fighting style.

One day during early spring, Tatsuo sent Rosuto on a simple trip to the store to buy some groceries which was nothing new for the boy. A simple trip that he would make often and he would use as his time to think of new ways to train. Well the old man decided to "interfere" somewhat by asking a friend of his to cross the boy's path. His friend knew the young boy for some time and thought that it would be nice if he had some kind of interaction with someone other than the Tatsuo and his training equipment. So as Rosuto exited the market, a younger lady [mid twenties] bumped into him causing him to drop a bag. Being the respectful kid he was, he apologized and began to pick up his groceries. The lady bent over and started helping him and tried starting a conversation with him. Not so much to her surprise, he didn't say too much and hurridly grabbed his things. He bid the woman good day and goodbye and continued on his way. By the time he got back home, the woman and Tatsuo were talking and laughing. Something he had only seen the old man do a few times prior. The old man introduced the two to each other properly as Rosuto earlier was in so much of a rush to even get her name. Reina. She owned a tattoo shop not too far away and had been good friends with the old man for quite some time. She explained to Rosuto that whenever he wanted to do something besides train and make swords that she was always looking for somebody to talk to. The young boy however was too shy and quiet to even think about going to see her, but sure enough one day he did. Ever since the first time, he started realizing that there is more than just fighting and training and he developed a sense of life and enjoying himself. Tatsuo began to see a bit more "life" in the boy besides the constant hardwork and bruising of his day to day regime.

Honestly he could say Rosuto never showed his happiness and it would be the first time he did see it once he, Reina, and the old man sat around and ate his favorite meal; ramen noodles with chicken. It was then that for the first time in his life, Rosuto truly thanked the old man for everything that he had done for him from teaching his about swords to helping him achieve his dreams to becoming more social. The unknowing orphan of the Mist had finally felt a sense happiness of family with his grampa, Tatsuo and aunt, Reina.

Should the clone come into contact with someone's attack, or try and attack themselves, they will simply disrupt into mist and then gradually reform. Any weapon attacks thrown by the mist clones will, although appearing real, only disperse into mist upon contact with their target; posing no physical threat. However, because they constantly reform, they are near impossible to get rid of, and offer a constant confusion factor.

Description: Karamatsu no Mai is a technique used by the members of the Kaguya clan. The user uses this jutsu to create a mass of razor-sharp bone spikes all over their body. These spines appear to be branches off their pre-existing skeletal structure rather than completely new bones. The user is even able to grow these bones at an extremely rapid rate so they can stab an opponent even as they are growing. They can even use them to block or trap an opponent's strikes. In addition to being an unwelcome surprise for opponents, it makes them basically untouchable at close range. If an opponent would start to get close to them, they would start to spin rapidly slashing the foe in multiple areas of their body.
