| OTHE INFO. Name: Orimono Kei Nickname: N/A Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: Orimono Kei, if she were to be considered at face value, would be considered rather beautiful by most standards, based on the fact that attractiveness is an objective quality. Her beauty is not of the striking, almost fearsome statuesque sort, that would be unworldly enough to be more becoming of a goddess; it is much more natural, a much gentler sort, reminiscent of a flower in bloom. However, if not for the fact that her features are quite arresting, Kei would have been almost easily overlooked. She is neither imposing nor physically overbearing; as a matter of fact, Kei is shorter than most females her age, having just hit the not-so-spectacular height of five feet on the dot. And judging from her age and build, it is quite unlikely that she will grow much taller. Kei, perhaps due to some feminine idiosyncrasy, will never disclose her weight, so guesses may only be made concerning that subject.
Her skin, while naturally fair, has experienced long periods of exposure to the warm sun of the Hi no Kuni, so it is not surprising to see that she has gained quite a healthy tan, notwithstanding that she comes from the north of the world, from a region with latitudes close to Yuki no Kuni. Kei's silky platinum-blonde hair, a testament to the fact that her progenitors most likely stemmed from colder regions than the Hi no Kuni, has the potential to be longer than it currently is, but Kei prefers to keep it short. For the most part, her hair falls to about chin-level, and is moved away from her face and tucked behind her ears. Running down before Kei's ears are two locks of hair which Kei, for some reason known to herself, has allowed to grow to a considerably longer extent than the rest of her hair; these locks reach down to rib-level. Kei has also gathered some hair towards the top of the left side of her head into a ponytail. Kei possesses large, gentle, baby-blue eyes, over which thin, graceful eyebrows arch to accentuate. A little button-nose, a mole on her left cheek, and full lips which reveal a perfect set of white teeth when she smiles or speaks are the other notable features on Kei's heart-shaped face.
When one's gaze moves from Kei's head, past her slender neck to her graceful frame, it is quite evident that she is somewhat precocious. For while her figure is petite and makes her appear delicate, this attribute is offset by her gorgeous curves which a number of the female folk of older ages cannot boast of. Slightly narrow shoulders, well-above-average bust, slim abdomen, wide hips and well-rounded backside, coupled with her graceful, well-proportioned limbs make her a popular topic among the males that have made her acquaintance. Perhaps a major positive qualifier of Kei's beauty is the fact that she wears little that will improve her looks. A simple person at heart, Kei doesn't bother much with jewelry or make-up, only choosing to sport little loop-earrings. In the way of clothing, Kei will most often wear a T-shirt, a pair of shorts and simple slippers when she's at home, most likely with an apron over these, if she's in her grandfather's shop. Her 'work' attire consists of a yellow T-shirt, over which she wears rather short denim 'skirtalls', and a mesh 'bodysuit' underneath her clothes. With such an outfit, Kei can show off a few of her curves without being frowned on by her grandfather for the lack of decency of her clothes. She wears maroon-hued fingerless gloves and ninja sandals of similar color. On her right thigh, Kei wears her ninja kit, and on her back, sewn to her skirtalls is a custom-made scroll holster which carries one medium and two small scrolls.
With an effortless grace, Kei performs her everyday actions, even carrying that grace to the battlefield. Her voice is just as pleasant: gentle, silvery and soft. Even when she lifts her voice to shout, Kei's voice cannot be termed as noise. Small surprise that many who set their eyes on Orimono Kei wonder whether she picked the right vocation, being a ninja. And having picked such a vocation, if she would survive long. The answer, of course, is left to fate and future.
Forehead Protector: Worn wrapped around her left shoulder, its fabric is maroon in color, like Kei's gloves and sandals.
Personality: Kei at first glance is gentle and soft, a far cry from your average shinobi. Unobtrusive and shy, Kei isn’t a natural with socializing, but she tries as much as possible to be polite and courteous to everyone, aside her enemies, and she’s working on her confidence. With a very thoughtful nature and empathic persona, Kei may not be the first person to make friends with someone, but she will certainly be the last to break that friendship. Even though she has had her fair share of dark days and understands the meaning of cruelty, she has chosen not to let these negative events shape her life poorly. Instead, Kei believes that those who have felt pain before should be able to understand another’s pain, and therefore should attempt to rid the world of it. This is a major influence on her desire to become a medic ninja.
Being the tender person that she is, most people tend to take Kei for granted, or underestimate her usefulness, even going so far as to deem her a possible liability on a battlefield or mission. They could be no further from the truth. Kei’s gentleness does not delude her into painting fantastic pictures of a shinobi’s life; on the contrary, she understands it too well, but sees no reason to make others suffer because she did. It must be understood that while Kei prefers peace and tranquillity, she will draw her weapon without hesitation against an opponent, being pragmatic enough to understand that loss of life is equivalent to the death of a dream. And Kei wants her dream to live. So she will fight without hesitation, and while Kei will refrain from killing indiscriminately, should the need arise, she will dispatch her foe without the slightest pause, although she will most likely express regret after the deed is done. A very resolute individual, Kei does not get discouraged easily, but strives tenaciously for the ideals she believes in. This is, after all, the bedrock of her nindō.
Kei tends to bond quickly with people who have gone through some serious issues in their lives but haven’t chosen to degenerate into 'curses' that only seek to spread pain. And once a person becomes her friend, or she seems to like them from the get-go, she begins to act a lot less reservedly about them. Her subtle, witty sense of humor becomes more evident, as does her ability to chatter if she’s in the mood, and her deep-set curiosity. While Kei tries to keep her composure in public, she is quite emotional around those close to her, and her empathic nature allows her to share their joys and sorrows as deeply as her own. Ever supportive and encouraging, Kei has a habit of doting over her friends, even making unnecessary efforts just to ensure they’re comfortable. It must be understood that the issue of ‘comfort’ is subject to her own personal interpretation, and she can take on the attribute of the typical shounen mother: pushy, bossy and even overbearing, but obviously out of the fact that she cares. Even with people who outrank her, are older than she is, or both, once Kei has determined they ‘need some care’, she will pester and disturb them, and probably the only time she'll stop is if she’s yelled at, or told in no uncertain terms to buzz off.
Kei is human, and has her very own share of weaknesses, which are many. First off, she’s very stubborn and often thinks she knows best. This is enhanced by the fact that she does a lot of studying and research, and so knows a lot of things. Arguing with Kei is downright frustrating; even if the facts are on your side, she will still come up with a witty counter or some other thing that will ensure you don't have the notion of victory, or at least are unable to enjoy the victory. Also, Kei reacts very badly to rejection or hostility from a friend, and will often attempt to avoid such a person, not because she’s keeping a grudge, but because she believes the person might hate her. Perhaps one of Kei’s greatest weaknesses is her anger problem. She is patient and doesn’t get angry easily (except where pervs are concerned) but when Kei is angry, expect some serious event. Kei often does things that she regrets deeply afterwards when she is angry. Of course, her ‘big sister’ attitude of unconsciously bossing people about is certainly not a plus on her scorecard. One other thing about Kei is that while she forgives easily, should she feel terribly wronged, she will not forget, and if she feels revenge is necessary, no matter how long it takes, she will bide her time.
Of course, her positive sides are her gentle, thoughtful, caring persona, her ability to understand the suffering of others, loyalty, dependability, undauntedness, sense of humor and high intelligence. It is this high intelligence that makes Kei notable among her peers. She is very resourceful and able to think and come up with solid plans and ideas on the go. This makes her good leadership material, but Kei is more than willing to surrender power or authority to anyone who wants it. This doesn’t mean she won’t lead if the situation demands it. As a matter of fact, she’d probably even do it well. Even though she is shy, Kei has a sort of charisma that makes her winsome, and her beauty serves to increase her popularity. As a result, her grandfather’s textile shop, in which she works in her spare time, does have a great following. While his goods are of top-notch quality and can attract customers easily, there is more activity and patronage in the shop when Kei is around.
Kei loves being neat and looking good (because she’s a little vain), sweets, being with friends and family, attending to medical duties (because they alleviate suffering), philosophical discussions, training and cooking, which she is very good at. But be warned: Kei often attempts bizarre recipes which usually tend to be quite nutritious but have very odd tastes. She dislikes Iwagakure, rude people, cruelty, bitter foods, fish and bugs.
Clan: Orimono Nindō: “Die fighting for ideals.” Kei believes that if someone doesn’t have anything so important that they can throw away their lives for it, such a person doesn’t understand the meaning of living. In Kei’s case, her priorities are her village and its inhabitants, especially her family and friends. She will go to every length possible to ensure that they are protected, which is why she immerses herself as much as possible in training. As it were, Kei does not believe the world can live in peace, but if those dear to her can at least be safe, that is all that matters. Of course, with such a mindset, people who don't have ideals to stand for, or those who cannot be true to their ideals, or worse yet, those who throw their ideals away are regarded as the lowest of creatures in Kei's eyes.
THE NINJA. Origin: Tsuchi no Kuni Affiliation: Konohagakure Rank: Genin Specialities: Medical, Ninjutsu Elemental Affinities: Fire, Earth Combat Style: Orimono Kei is an extremely tricky fighter, using everything within and around her as much as she can to confuse an opponent. With Kei on the battlefield, nothing is ever straightforward. She feints, tricks and does whatever it takes to keep her opponent on their toes. Utilizing the ever-versatile ninjutsu, and employing her knowledge of medicine to create a graceful fighting style to fight-off an opponent should she be drawn into close-quarter combat, it is quite difficult to second-guess Kei. When she throws a kunai or a punch, it is wise to ask yourself what she actually has in mind, because it is likely that a simple move is just a ruse for something much more complicated. And often, when Kei sees an opponent getting a grasp of her fighting style, she will do such a simple move with no hidden agendas just for the purpose of throwing her opponent off balance.
While Kei, being a ninjutsu major, will attempt to overwhelm her opponent with long- to medium-ranged attacks to avoid physical stress of any kind, since her constitution is more delicate than the average close-ranged brawler, should an opponent close the gap between the two combatants, Kei will resort to using close-ranged ninjutsu, coupled with medical techniques. These medical techniques are of special note, because, relying on her skill as a medical ninja, Kei has, with the unwilling help of her grandfather, been able to put together an I-Taijutsu (medic-taijutsu fighting style) known as Buyohien Kakutoujutsu [Dancing Swallow in Midflight Fist-fighting] which puts her little frame and decent center of gravity to good use. The idea of Buyohien Kakutoujutsu is this: a lot of hand-to-hand techniques use centrifugal force to create power. If one can come in very close, a swinging blow, for instance, which would be totally devastating should its fist meet the opponent, would be rendered almost harmless if the forearm is what hits the opponent. A straight punch, knee or kick may be strong, but easier to dodge than a swing. Buyohien Kakutoujutsu brings its user to very close quarters. While up close, the practitioner will use explosive palm strikes and elbow strikes (very reminiscent of Bajiquan) to attack an opponent's weak points, nerve centers and joints (easily discernible with Kei's medical knowledge). The practitioner of this fighting style also seeks to compromise the opponent's balance by performing tactics like dodging backwards just out of reach of a blow, to make the opponent commit too much reach into the blow and thus topple forward, or tripping the opponent, because it is almost impossible to dodge, should one's balance be off. Should an opponent seek to retreat, the Buyohien Kakutoujutsu practitioner is also capable of utilizing fierce acrobatic kicks (very much like Changquan kicks) to confuse and attack the opponent and close the distance again. Blocking is not advised, but dodging and evasive, confusing maneuvers cover the scope of defense of this fighting style. Hand-to-hand medical techniques can be incorporated into the Buyohien Kakutojutsu, making its blows a hundred times more deadly. In conclusion, it is a very beautiful and graceful style to watch, but deadly to experience.

THE BACKGROUND. History:

Origins: Born in Tsuchi no Kuni, Orimono Kei was the first and only child of the then head of the now-nearly extinct Orimono clan, Orimono Hana, and her husband, Orimono Jirou. With Hana's death at Kei's birth, Jirou was made to assume the leadership of the clan and take over the role from Hana's father, Orimono Shou, who held the post temporarily till someone was elected by the clan elders to fill it. With Kei's father dreadfully busy, and her mother dead, she grew up under the care of her grandparents mostly, although Jirou tried as much as possible to cut out time from his brutal schedule to be with his daughter. While Kei wished for more of her father's attention, from an early age she understood that her father carried a great responsibility on his shoulders, one which almost seemed more important than even Kei herself. Kei lived a very sheltered life, hardly seeing much of the outside world, nevertheless, Kei's childhood wasn't really bad, and by the time she was four, she had set her sights on being an amazing ninja like her father, and mother as well, based on the stories she had heard from her grandparents and Jirou. Birth of Sorrows: At that tender age of four, Kei was exposed to the terrible state of the world and the nightmare of war. For a while, she had been hearing rumors about tensions rising between her clan and a ninja village known as Iwagakure, about something bad her aunt, Orimono Yuka, was said to have done. From what Kei heard about this village, it was the strongest in the region, and the fact that Iwagakure wanted to pick a fight with the Orimono sounded ominous, even to the ears of a little child. Soon, there was news of the tension escalating into full-blown violence began, but Kei never really had to experience such as yet. Time and time again she heard of how her father, through his wily thinking and cunning, would outmaneuver Iwagakure's ninja, and her admiration and respect grew for him, although she began to see less and less of him. One night, while sleeping in the safety of her grandfather's arms because of fear of the thunder that crashed outside in an almost preternatural storm, Kei was awakened by a loud scream that echoed through the walls of the cave system she called home. As the child struggled to collect her thoughts from slumber, she noticed that her grandfather was already running with her in his arms, to a small room where he deposited her along with her grandmother, locked the door from outside, and left. The old woman drew a long blade from somewhere within her robes and told Kei to hide under a little bed. Genocide: Under the bed, Kei heard noises of fighting slowly getting louder, but her grandmother would not let her come out of her hiding place. Very soon, there was a noise at the door, and the door was knocked down. From Kei's position, she couldn't see what was going on, but she heard her grandmother cry out and saw the old lady's feet dash forward. There were foreign cries of pain and fear as Kei saw the lifeless bodies of the intruders drop one by one to the ground. Then came some noises Kei could not understand, another body fell, and to the horror of the little child, she saw herself staring into the cold, lifeless eyes of her dear grandmother who lay in a prone position with a metal weapon sticking out of her back. A loud uncontrollable sob exploded from Kei's throat as the tears flowed unbridled down her cheeks. It was then one of the intruders flung the bed aside to reveal the crying child. Mercilessly, he grabbed her by her fair locks, pulled her from her lying position and lifted the kunai in his hand, a demonic smile twisting his facial features. Then the smile changed to a pained expression, and he let go, dropping to the ground. Kei looked up at her savior, who was none other than Jirou. The Sting of Betrayal: Kei rushed into her father's arms, crying for all she was worth, as the man stroked her hair and tried to comfort her. Suddenly, another figure appeared at the doorway, Kei's aunt, Yuka. Yuka looked at the body of her mother on the ground but said not a word, although a pained expression passed over her facial features and then was gone. Jirou rose to meet Yuka, and for a moment the two discussed in low tones; Kei could not hear much, but she understood the conversation was about what was happening that night. According to Yuka, the Iwagakure ninja had possibly captured an Orimono and forced him to reveal the secret entrances to the Orimono clan stronghold. After a few more words, Jirou asked Yuka to look after Kei, while he rallied the Orimono to help them escape with their lives, and if that wasn't possible, make a last stand. Yuka nodded and placed a reassuring hand on Kei's head, but no sooner had Jirou turned his back that Yuka's arm flashed, and drove a katana through Jirou's body. Shocked beyond comprehension, Kei could only stare with wide eyes as her father's body dropped to the ground. Then she shrieked. Yuka turned on her, irritation and hatred unconcealed in Yuka's face, as the kunoichi drew a kunai and advanced on Kei. Before death could claim Kei by Yuka's hand, the wall erupted into spines, impaling Yuka. Kei looked down to see her father slumped against the wall, his hands in a seal position. Then he smiled apologetically and said, "I'm so sorry, Kei. This is not what I had hoped for you..." His voice trailed off, and he spoke no more. Crushed by grief and fear, Kei found the world swimming around her, then the ground rushed up towards her, and all went black. Goodbye, Tsuchi no Kuni: Kei woke up to the kight of the sun shining on her face. She was clean and not covered with blood, and she was as hungry as a bear out of hibernation. That meant all that had happened was perhaps a dream... but if it was, where was she? Kei sat up, and heard her grandfather's voice call her from behind. Her face lit up with joy, for if her grandfather was alive, surely it had all been a dream. She turned towards him, a smile of relieved joy washing over her features. Then she stopped short, her smile changing to one of pained horror. For the man who stood before her had lost an eye and an arm. Then the full recollection of the events of that horrible night struck her, and she cried once more. Shou comforted his grandchild stating that where there was life, there was hope, and maybe they would find happiness again. Kei asked him to tell her what had happened to him, but he would not speak of it. Instead, he proceeded to tell her of how he had found her among the corpses of her aunt and father, and had taken her to a secret exit which he had collapsed behind him to cover his escape. The exit burst out close to a little civilian village, where Shou had lied about his identity and that of his granddaughter's in order to ensure that no one thought about handing them over to Iwa ninja. He had cooked up a convincing story of having been caught in the crossfire between Iwa ninja and some unknown elements. He and Kei were given board and medical attention, and that was where Kei had woken up. As soon as Kei regained her strength, with some money that Shou had managed to take from the Orimono cave while escaping, the two bought supplies and left the village with the intention of traveling as far away as possible from Tsuchi no Kuni. So they took a carriage traveling into Hi no Kuni, for that was about as far as the money they had would take them. In the Shade of the Leaves: A while after the carriage bearing the two Orimono entered the Hi no Kuni, it was waylaid by bandits. Fortunately for everyone on board the carriage, before the bandits could cause any serious damage, they were set upon by a patrolling ninja team. Having vanquished the thieves, the ninja patrol advised the travelers to follow them to their village, Konohagakure, and there spend the night. As soon as the two Orimono entered Konohagakure, Orimono Shou took his grandchild and they presented themselves to the Village Council, where Shou told his story in full without attempting to falsify anything, and pleaded asylum for himself and his grandchild. After correspondences were carried out and corroborations were made concerning Shou's story, and the two were deemed relatively harmless, they were allowed to stay in the village, because even though Konoha wasn't at war with Iwa, it wasn't as if they were allies. Besides, the Orimono didn't possess any terrifying bloodline that could create issues with Iwa, should Iwa discover that Orimono were seeking sanctuary in Konoha. The two Orimono thus found shelter from the outside world within the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The Way of the Ninja: Throughout her years in Konoha, Kei could not get her grandfather to tell her the reason for the massacre of the Orimono. Her pleas and cajoling were ignored, and her grandfather told her to let sleeping dogs lie and forget the matter. For a while, Kei was content to let the matter lie as it were, and although she entertained thoughts about being a ninja, Kei didn't attempt to enrol in the Academy, as she felt there was no real reason to become a ninja. She learnt the trade of weaving from her grandfather, and assisted him in the textile store he opened to make ends meet. The two Orimono integrated into Konoha and came to love the village, and be loved in turn by those who knew them. One day, Kei overheard her father talking with a traveling merchant. According to this merchant, it seemed that cloths of very similar quality to the Orimono's merchandise were being sold somewhere in Tsuchi no Kuni. She saw the merchant show her grandfather a cloth sample, which, to her shock, sported the Orimono clan crest. Kei confronted her grandfather about this, eager to discover whoever this person was, who would be bold enough to trade under a sign whose bearers had been eliminated by the owners of that land in which the sign now thrived. Shou told Kei to forget the matter, as nothing but pain could come of it. But this was the straw that broke the camel's back; Kei was tired of not having answers and was resolved to get them herself. And to do that, she would most likely have to be able to defend herself, for old wounds opened were sure to meet with protest. She enroled in the Shinobi Academy at a rather old age for a student, and ignored the jibes and names thrown at her by unmannered brats in the same class. In time, at the age of fifteen, she could boast of possessing a forehead protector. As Kei understood more about being a ninja, the arts of the medic intrigued her, because aside the medic, other ninja had rather violent roles. It wasn't as if medics couldn't be dangerous in their own right, but Kei felt better about having the power to save lives while being an agent of death. Although Shou disapproved of his granddaughter's becoming a ninja, he still gave her his full support, and gives her valuable advise up till this day. Now Kei strives to grow stronger until the time she will discover and understand fully the bloody history of her clan.

The sound of running feet in the dark hall brought the young shinobi to full vigilance. She didn't understand how she had gotten to be here. The room was odd, alien yet familiar, as if she had been here before. Kei sat up and swung her nimble body off the side of the bed on which she had lain. The footsteps were getting louder. And something told Kei that everything wasn't alright. She quickly picked her kit from the bed and fastened it in its place at the small of her back, just before the door burst open and a man yelled something almost incomprehensible before running off. Kei stared at the open door in disbelief.
"Did he just say Konoha is under attack?" Kei wondered silently, drawing a kunai from her kit and moving briskly towards the door. Suddenly, the sound of fighting erupted from a place beyond the stone walls of wherever it was that Kei found herself. Her heart pounding in her chest, Kei tried to analyze the situation before her and come up with a useful, life-saving plan. Perhaps the first thing to do was identify the enemy. Peeking out of her room, Kei saw the man who had alerted her to the invasion of Konoha standing with his head bowed, leaning against the wall. He seemed injured. Maybe she could get him somewhere hidden and heal him while attempting to glean information from the man. All of a sudden, he turned to look at Kei. It was Grandpa Shou! As the girl stepped towards him, a large shuriken thrown by an unseen assailant hit the man full-force in the chest, rocking him back violently. He hit the cold stone floor without a sound, his lifeless eyes staring through the young kunoichi. Although she had seen people die before, Kei found herself rooted to the spot in shock and fear. The shadows of approaching people grew slowly along the rock walls, moving in her direction. With all the willpower she could muster, Kei moved back towards the room she had just exited, desirous to find a hiding place from which she could observe and, if need be, spring an ambush.
The invaders came into view. There were three of them. Two were large and stocky, while the third, a kunoichi like herself, was of a slighter build, but obviously not as delicate in frame as Kei. They wore grey-brown Chuunin jackets, with familiar designs. They did not seem to have noticed she was there yet, although Kei was sure that if she moved, her activity would give her away. That was when she noticed the headbands. Triangular markings. Her large eyes widened slowly as she suddenly understood why their jackets were familiar, foreign ninja though they were. For those were the same jackets that were on the backs of the people that practically exterminated her clan. The three were talking, and they seemed amused as the largest of them prodded the corpse on the floor with his foot. Then the woman turned. For a second her brown eyes locked with Kei's cerulean, and it seemed time had paused while the two exchanged stares, even if for just a sliver of time. Then with pent up fury and pain released emotions like a broken dam in a rainstorm, Kei gave a scream, a primal howl of rage as she charged the three ninja, her kunai-wielding arm drawn back and ready to slash.
Unfortunately, it seemed Kei would not have her way. One of the men stamped his foot without even performing handseals, and Kei found herself suddenly encased in a crystal prison. Her rage gave way to renewed fear with the realization that she was most probably powerless at the point in time, as the three ninja walked leisurely towards her, gloating. "This is the one I told you about," the woman said, drawing a sword from its sheath on her back, "the brat that escaped." Kei was dumbfounded. How could they have known she was hiding in Konoha, and even if they did know, why was she so important that a whole village would have to be invaded for her sake. "Don't be afraid, pretty one," one of the men said, placing his hand under her chin and lifting her head so her eyes could meet his. "We'll make sure you see all your family and loved ones again... very soon.". Kei responded by spitting in his face. "Why don't you go bully some squirrels in the forest, Ostrich-brain," she threw back, trying to appear bold. "We're wasting time," the kunoichi said, swinging her blade at Kei's neck.
The loud peal of thunder reverberated within the dimensions of the small room that served as Kei's bedroom, as, with a gasp, the young kunoichi sat up suddenly. She looked down at the blanket that covered her body and noticed her hands were shaking uncontrollably. Kei gripped the cloth in both hands, in an effort to stem the shivering, as she turned her gaze towards the window, from which she could see the torrents of water pouring down from the sky onto the sleeping village, while forks of ethereal plasma traveled across the blackened expanse of the night sky, followed by the characteristic thunder roll. "So it was just a dream after all..." the girl muttered thankfully, turning her gaze away from the rain spattered glass and looking at the dim light that provided her room with a little illumination. Eleven years had passed, and Kei still had memories and dreams that haunted her incessantly. Contrary to her grandfather's opinion, these things were issues that called for closure, or Kei would never have repose from the dreams, she was certain. For now, she would just continue to get stronger, until she was ready to begin to dig deep into the past. And on that day she would find out just what had really happened on 'that' night, the night almost all the members of an entire clan spilled their blood. And more importantly, she would perhaps find out why it happened. And maybe then the haunting dreams would end. Just maybe.

Name: Henge no Jutsu • Transformation Technique Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique transforms the user’s appearance to that of another object or person. However, it is not a permanent transformation and a mental image of what they are transformed into. Certain aspects of a ninja will not change merely by transformation, these things may include injuries, tool pocket placements etc. The jutsu will dispel should the user be injured. The user does not gain the properties of their transformation (ie. horse like strength), and may only transform into something ranging between 1/2 of their regular size, to 2x their regular size. Whatever object was used to alter places will receive the brunt of the enemy’s attack instead. Name: Chozou no Jutsu • Storage Technique Rank: E Type: Fuuinjutsu, Supplementary Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: A simple jutsu that allows a ninja to seal or unseal any item, mostly weapons, from scrolls or from their body. After forming the necessary handsigns, the ninja will seal the item into a scroll etc. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons or have other seals inside of them, which expands the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use. The items themselves are unaffected by time. Ninjutsu can also be stored in scrolls, to be released when the scroll is opened, but require another person to cast said Ninjutsu; else it cannot be sealed. Chakra Cost: 1 to seal; 1 to unseal.
Name: Suimen Hokou no Waza • Act of Water Surface Walking Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: NA Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on water by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet or hands. Because of water’s nature, this requires the user to be quick to adjust the amount of chakra they must emit to their feet in order to maintain a constant balance. Users may also walk, run and “skate” across the water when using this technique. Chakra Cost: 1 (1 per post)
Name: Kinobori no Waza • Act of Tree Climbing Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on trees and vertical walls by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet. Gravity can easy be defined if this technique is mastered, allowing people to even stand upside down. If too much chakra is exerted the user will be pushed away; bark breaking and causing the user to then fall. If not enough chakra is exerted the user will lose their footing and fall. The smoke is very thick and causes total loss of vision. An attempt to blow the smoke away using Futon will simply increase the duration of the jutsu by one post. The smoke easily dissolves in water, and any suiton channeled through the smoke will shorten the duration of this technique by one post. Lasts 3 posts. Chakra Cost: C: 8.
Name: Goukakyuu no Jutsu - Great Fireball Technique Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: Katon (Fire) Description: Katon • Goukakyuu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals, draws chakra from their mouth into their chest and them immediately exhales it. They then blow a stream of fire which erupts into a large sphere of flames. To better manage the flames the ninja will bring their hand to their mouth to control it. Chakra Cost: 5 (2 per post)
Name: Housenka no Jutsu - Mythical Fire Phoenix Technique Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: Katon (Fire) Description: Katon • Housenka no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Fire Element. The ninja does the necessary hand seals and then emits a series of small fire balls. The ninja can also hurl a projectile which is covered in these same flames. To the opponent the attack appears to be only the balls of flame, they do not see the hidden threat within the flames. Meaning that even if the flames are put out, the projectiles still converge on the target. The flames can be used to cover different projectiles like shuriken or kunai. Chakra Cost: 5
Name: Ryuuka no Jutsu - Dragon Fire Technique Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Mid (5m - 10m) Element: Katon (Fire) Description: The user breathes fire along a cord or any other type of long object, which rushes forward in straight line catching the enemy on fire. The flames are meant to target, and assault the enemy's upper body just like a projectile weapon. Chakra Cost: 5
Name: Manjushage - Red Spider Lily Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (5 meters) Element: Katon Description: After performing the necessary handseals, the user slams the palm of their right hand on the ground, and a huge spout of flame, taking the characteristic shape of a flower spouts out of the ground, in a grand explosion. Anyone caught within the blast radius will be thrown back about 3 meters, as well as suffer concussive damage and a good number of light burns. Used as a tactic to force back close-range attackers, this technique is quite difficult to dodge if the opponent is within range, due to the suddenness of the created explosion. Chakra Cost: 12 CP

Name: Dochuu Senkou - Underground Submarine Voyage Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m), Mid (5m - 10m) Element: Doton (Earth) Description: Doton • Dochuu Senkou is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. After forming the needed hand seals, the user can sink below ground and quickly travel through the earth. Chakra Cost: 6 (2 per post)
Name: Doro Gaeshi - Mud Overturn Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: Doton (Earth) Description: Doton • Doro Gaeshi is a defensive Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Earth Element. After striking the ground with their hands, a large wall of earth will rise into place as defense. The defense is not perfect though, a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall. Chakra Cost: 6
Name: Doryuusou - Earthen Rising Spears Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: Doton (Earth) Description: This technique lets the user condense mud or stone, from the ground, and shape them into spikes that will protrude from the ground in order to skewer the target. The spikes are brittle, and can be broken with a strong blow or tough defense. Chakra Cost: 7
Name: Doton Bunshin no Jutsu - Earth Clone Technique Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m), Mid (5m - 10m) Element: Doton Description: Doton Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes the earth to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Doton Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target, but none utilizing chakra. The range of the clone is limited however, it can travel no further than 10 meters from the original body. If the Doton Bunshin is injured, the clone will revert into rock that crumbles to the ground. Chakra Cost: 7 (Per clone)

Name: Shunji Shoudoku no jutsu - Instant Disinfection Technique Rank: D Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: Gathering chakra to their palm, the medic releases it in one bright blue flash, destroying micro-organisms within the radius of the flash, which is about one foot from the caster's hands. While useless in combat, it can be used to sterilize equipment, hands and other materials, making it quite a useful technique for on-field medic exercises. Chakra Cost: 3
Name: Shindan Shuhou - Diagnosis Technique Rank: C Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: After performing the needed handseals, the user releases a pulse of chakra through the patient’s body. The pulse then returns through their chakra network back into the user’s palms, giving them a mental image of where the chakra network seems to be flaring or lowering. This can give the user a better idea of the location and injury type that has been inflicted. For use in offense, this technique is capable to present a map of the opponent’s chakra network on contact which can be used to determine chakra natures and levels. Chakra Cost: 8
Name: Chakra Byōki - Chakra Disease Rank: C-S (C) Type: Eijutsu Range: Close (0M) Element: N/A Description: After making a long string of hand signs during which the user's hands start to glow with chakra it is manipulated into a corruptive, disease like form, the user forcibly injects it into the opponent's chakra circulatory system. This chakra acts like a "disease," forcing the opponent's chakra to activate an immune response to contain it, tying up sources and increasing the cost of the afflicted's jutsu. In order to inflict this on an enemy they must be touched. At C-rank, the enemy's jutsu cost will be increased by 2 CP per jutsu for 1 post. At B-rank, cost will be increased by 4 CP per jutsu for 2 posts. A-rank, 6CP per jutsu for 3 posts. S-rank, 10CP per jutsu for3 posts. Rank: C Type: Medical Range: Close (0m) Element: N/A Description: Something of an application of Thermal Wave, this technique allows the user to send a chakra wave into a specific part of the body, overheating the muscles. This causes a the muscles to cramp, inhibiting the target's ability to use the afflicted limb properly for 2 posts. Chakra Cost: 7
Name: Shousen no Jutsu - Mystical Hand Technique Rank: C-A [B] Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: Shousen Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by medical ninja. This technique allows the ninja to heal wounds by focusing their own chakra to their hands. If the higher the medical ninja's rank is the quicker they are able to heal more critical and serious injuries. Injuries of equal rank may be healed in 1 post, and completely restored in 2. If choosing to heal a wound higher than the rank of the Shousen used, it requires 2 extra posts per rank. Thus C-rank Shousen healing an A-rank wound would require 5 posts to fully heal, while a B-rank wound would require 3 posts for instance. If healing a lower-ranked wound with a higher-ranked Shousen, the wound is fully healed in one post as opposed to two. Chakra Cost: C: 8CP (2 per post), B: 12CP (4 per post), A: 20CP (6 per post)
Orijutsu Hiden - Spoiler:
Name: Orijutsu Hiden: Kakureme no Ori [Art of Weaving Secret: Weave of Hidden Eye] Rank: D-A(B) Type: Ninjutsu Range: Long Element: N/A Description: The user performs a number of handseals, and releases chakra, which to the eyes of one who can see or feel chakra, resembles an ethereal blanket thrown over the battlefield. Anything that moves within the blanket will be detected by the skin of the user of this technique, similar to a spider detecting motion on its woven web. At higher levels, much more than just motion can be detected. This technique was created for scenarios where fighting in darkness was required, which was quite useful for the Orimono Clan since their original hideout was a dark cave, with many unlit regions. When performing this jutsu, no other action can be taken in that post, as the concentration required to perform it is high. At D-Rank the 'blanket ' extends in a radius of about 15 meters away from the user (with a vertical range of 3 meters), and can only detect motion. As a result, the only difference between a flying kunai and a running child would be their difference in speeds. Nothing else can be determined. At C-Rank the 'blanket ' now has a radius of about 30 meters in radius (with a vertical range of 4 meters), and can not only detect motion, but also descry vaguely the shape of whatever is moving. In essence, it would be difficult to distinguish between a human and a puppet. At B-Rank the 'blanket ' can cover 100 meters (with a vertical range of 5 meters), and can detect with precision the size and shape of moving objects within its radius. It can detect the position of motionless objects, although the user will find difficulty determining the exact shape of the motionless object. If the user has Sensor Special Characteristic, they can sacrifice an extra 4 Chakra to more accurately detect chakra signatures over a wider range, this range being 300 meters. However, care should be taken while using this particular variation of the technique, as the user cannot engage in combat, in order to concentrate fully on the task at hand. At A-Rank the 'blanket ' can cover 300 meters (with a vertical range of 5 meters), and can detect with precision the location, position and size of everything in its radius, stationary or moving. If the user has Sensor Special Characteristic, they can sacrifice an extra 7 Chakra to detect chakra signatures over a wider range, this range being 500 meters. However, care should be taken while using this particular variation of the technique, as the user cannot engage in combat, in order to concentrate fully on the task at hand. Special: From B-Rank, the user of this technique can manipulate the chakra 'blanket' to compensate for the poor vertical range of this technique. In essence, they can sacrifice horizontal range for vertical range. 50 meters of horizontal distance can be sacrificed for 10 meters of vertical. For instance, an A-rank Orimono may choose to create a blanket that can detect only 200 meters horizontally, but will be able to detect up to 25 meters vertically (20+ the original 5 meters vertical range). This rule also applies to the sacrificing of chakra to extend the Kakureme no Ori's range. Chakra Cost: D: 4 (1 to maintain), C: 7 (2 to maintain), B: 13 (3 to maintain), A: 21 (5 to maintain)
Name: Orijutsu Hiden: Kinugawa [Art of Weaving Secret: Silken Shell] Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close Element: N/A Description: This technique can be used on any type of cloth, Kamiginu or not. The user pushes chakra into the cloth, making it much harder than its normal constituency would allow. In this state, the cloth can withstand up to 3 basic taijutsu hits and E-rank weapon attacks. A weapon or taijutsu of D-rank will damage the cloth and disrupt the technique but only scratch the user of this technique. Once the technique has been disrupted, it will have to be performed again to be used. It is quite useful for if one cannot dodge a speedy taijutsu offender, and needs to make a counterattack. Perhaps the most useful effect of this technique is that a sealing technique which strikes the cloth will not get onto the user's skin as should be the case, but remain on the cloth, effectively foiling Fuuinjutsu effected on it. The major downside is that stiff cloth makes for slower movement, and the user will move at half their speed unless the technique is removed or disrupted. Chakra Cost: 4 Chakra (1 to maintain)
Name: Orijutsu Hiden: Tengen [Art of Weaving Secret: Divine Strings] (females)/ Washimichi: Tengen [Way of the Eagle: Divine Strings](males) Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu/Puppetry Range: Mid- to Long Element: N/A Requirement: Ayatsuito no Jutsu [String Reeling Technique] Description: Technically a Puppeteer technique, this technique uses chakra to manipulate threads and control them to perform a number of activities including but not restricted to grappling, throwing light weapons, constricting, etc. It is believed to be an improvement of the Steel Reeling Technique, and functions almost like an extension of the ninja. This is the fundamental Orimono technique, and is the basis for the females' Orijutsu (Art of Weaving), and the males' Washijutsu (Eagle techniques). Most times, practitioners of Washijutsu mainly focus on using metal wire for offensive and defensive maneuvers, as well as wielding weapons from a distance to give themselves an advantage of range in combat, even with a melee weapon. Practitioners of Orijutsu hardly utilize this technique on metal wire, but use the more traditional Kamiginu cloth to perform this technique. A user of this technique can manipulate up to four strands of cloth/wire at a time. A Ninjutsu adept can perform a variant of this technique, but it may only be used to grapple a single target and perhaps constrain or constrict. But its versatility is much less efficient than if used by a Puppeteer. A user of the Ninjutsu variant of this technique can only manipulate one thick tendril of cloth, or a singular wire. | Just to let you know, if you start off with that Basic Medical Kit, you won't be able to hold or use any basic ninja tools like kunai, shuriken, or explosive notes, as the Genin Kit includes these weapons. You'll eventually have to replace this Kit with a Custom one in order to include what you wish. I would also like you to crop or resize your character's image (just a little bit) so that it doesn't stretch the width of the forum page. |

Added the scrolls. Also edited Kei's appearance to reflect how she carries these scrolls. On a side note, added a few lines to Kei's fighting style. |
