Yu-Gi-Oh: Sky Breaker

In 2013 Tokyo was all but destroyed after a bomb was unloaded in the center of the city. In the aftermath of the attack, Japan found an amazing new energy source named Numana. This energy flowed from the earth and enriched the air around what was once the city of Tokyo. Japan rebuilt the city using this new found power source to make it grander and more eye catching than ever. They would not fall and bow down to the other nations. They renamed their city Kami, as they would be the wind that would not stop howling no matter what was thrown at them. As more and more countries found out about the energy source hostilities began to emerge so soon after the war that devastated Old Tokyo had already ended. Politicians and corporations from all across the globe have begun to demand rights to the energy, but Japan continues to firmly deny them.

In response, certain people have begun to illegally harvest Numana to sell. These "Numana Drainers" use vicious and powerful tools to get their energy. To defend the Numana, "Numana Protectors" have begun to be hired by the government to chase off the protectors. Making matters worse, the drainers have begun using a deadly technology called a Duel Lock to lock people into dueling with them. This forces protectors to rely on the duel monsters card game to defend their city. Should one loose this duel, it seems they go into a coma. The mysterious nature of these attacks only add to the growing mysteries beginning to envelop the city known as the heart of the global Duel Monsters phenomenon.
