Appearance:Ryuu stand at an average height for his age, around five foot ten inches tall. A general body size and weight come into effect as well, as it isnt the height or his weight that define and set Ryuu apart from others as the clothes and style he wears.
Coming from the Joushi clan, Ryuu has been conditioned throughoiut the fifteen years of his life to embody and portray perfection, thus as a result, everything from his clothes to his hair, to even the softness of his skin as been conditioned and cleaned to portray the same snotty, uptight, egotistical image that the clan has.
A generic light pigment makes up the majority of Ryuu's skin color, altered by a slight tan that he has recieved from working outside in the sun after he had been expelled from the Joushi clan. Coupling that tanned feature, Ryuu's hair is a dark red color, almost like that of de-oxygenated blood. Obviously, since his medical techniques are too low of a level, his hair is dyed on a regular basis, not allowing the image of that new and freshly coloured hair to fade away.
Ryuu's eyes are normally a deep red color as well, but this is due to an actual genetic mutation within his DNA, and not contacts or some other way of changing his eye color to portray a specific image. In fact, the red eyes are what cause Ryuu to change his hair color, which originally was a light brown, to the dark red, so that the two colors could compliment each other and still give off that perfectionist image.
Ryuu's outfit is normally a white dress shirt with a black suit jacket over top, and black pants that weigh and feel very light, allowing easy movement and flexibility. Attached to the right leg of his pants is a genin pouch, carrying mostly everything from his genin kit inside. For footwear, Ryuu wears black, steel toed, combat boots. Being a medical nin would require one to rush onto the field if necessary to help an injured ally, and thus in order to avoid hurting ones feet, the steel toes became necessary.

Personality:Before he was expelled from the clan, Ryuu's attitude was like your average Joushi member; arrogant and self centered, with a dash of perfectionism and a bottle and half of egotistical mannerisms. That was the way the Joushi lived. By putting others down and laughing at their weakness and inadequacies, it gave the impression that the Joushi were actually perfect. And that was how Ryuu lived for a large majority of his life.
One of the major traits that Ryuu has still held on to from the Joushi though is being and detecting a liar. That was a huge part for him growing up within the clan, because due to the perfectionist attitude, lies and deciet were in every corner and around every turn. Everyone in the Joushi clan took part in this practice and while one couldnt tell if the other knew they were being lied too, it was a general assumption that they knew. Because the Joushi also believed they were the chosen ones to perfect the world, they actually could manage to believe the lies they came up with right off the top of their heads, allowing them to pass through lie detections because they actually believed one hundred percent of what they were saying.
Once he had started the Academy however, Ryuu's attitude began to change dramatically. His arrogance mellowed out, and he became more open to criticism and ideas, thus changing the way he saw the world. While egotistical and slightly arrrogant, Ryuu also learned to be patient and calm while waiting for something or someone, as well as a jokester at times, using pranks to help drive back some of the loneliness from being expelled from his clan. He also has the tendency to use the signature Joushi laugh at times, but has managed to scale that back drastically enough to where it doesnt affect his teamwork most of the time.
That event in itself also changed around some of Ryuu's personality. He became more withdrawn and quiet, keeping to himself and practicing while still keeping in touch with some of the friends he had made during the years at the Academy. During the quiet time he had at his apartment, he slowly began building up a desire for revenge against his clan and against Kumogakure in general for allowing that to happen to a child and aspiring shinobi. Due to this, the vengeance he seeks leaks out in the battles and his words some times, and even within practice matches, the illusions he uses become darker and more vivid, almost seeming to pull from the deepest parts of the opponents minds.
As a little side note, Ryuu does have a habit of picking his nose and wiping the subsequent residue on people who he either wants to piss off, or people who he looks down upon. Sometimes it could also be in jest once he gets to know the person so that he can act like a five year old and have some fun.

Combat Style: Ryuu doesnt have a combat style per say. As he focuses more on Genjutsu and Eijutsu, he can be classified more as a support style shinobi, disrupting the enemy teams and other opponents, and healing his team mates as needed.
There are times where he does ignore his teammates due to his subconcious Joushi mentality kicking in, and believing, for a short time period, that he should not be healing those beneath him. Those episodes however are few and far between, and normally only come into play when its a minor injury, and not something like a broken bone or someone is missing an arm.
Normally in combat with a team, Ryuu will cast minor genjutsu to disorient the opponent and evade them, mostly due to not having any real combat skills. If the opponent gets too close despite that, Ryuu does have and will use medical techniques to hinder them even more, causing the opponent to over heat or cool down which can cause cramps, chakra exhaustion, and exhaustion in general. The same style applies during solo combat, which again, Ryuu tries his absolute hardest to avoid so that he does not die or get kidnapped.
Ryuu's most notable style of combat is a very simple one. By using of Genjutsu to disorient the opponent, he also utilizes some very basic medical techniques to wear down the opponent quite fast. By increasing or decreasing the body temperature of the opponent, he can manage to cause cramps, or organ failure if the opponent does not take the time to warm back up or cool down respectively. Continuing to attack normally while over heated or when your muscles have cooled down too much can spell doom on a battlefield.

"The world is a giant clutter of imperfection. Nothing, as far as we can see or as deep as we can swim, is perfect. That is the essence of the world. And we of the Joushi clan refuse to accept that. We can change and hide all the imperfections, and give everyone the vision of the perfect world. And we are the only people that can do it."
Those were the first words Ryuu heard when he was old enough to comprehend theories, and it was repeated multiple times around him since the beginning. It all had started off by fellow clan members saying it to convince themselves, and eventually it succeeded. Now it was repeated as a belief, as a generally accepted fact. The Joushi clan was the only clan to change the world as they saw fit, and there was no one to refute that.
Growing up, Ryuu was subjected to almost extreme conditioning in this matter. Every day, every class, every waking second, it was all he saw and heard. And to compound that and prove it was a true fact, he was immediately thrown into training. Not as much physical training as he was young, but a much harsher mental training. The ability to perform illusions flawlessly and with every minute detail they could take in, that was the main trait of the Joushi clan. And also, Genjutsu allowed the Joushi to convince others as well as themselves that the world they had made, the illusion that was as fake as the smile on their faces, was a reality. Genjutsu had allowed the Joushi mantra, the belief that they were the only ones to change the world, to become a form of reality.
However, as Ryuu grew and was subjected to more training and conditioning, he began to see inconsistancies with the actions of his clan. The deciet and false assumptions and claims were abound, and it was just a normal reaction, a normal occurance. Everyone had repeated the mantra so many times that it was no longer an opinion. And after witnessing that, Ryuu threw himself into his studies even harder. When he wasnt studying, he was reading. Any book, non-fiction, fiction, whatever he could get his hands on. Anything to increase the scope of his imagination and provide more fuel to his Genjutsu. After all, he was supposed to prove that the world was perfect and just as he would say it would be, so if he said that dragons were real, he should be able to make multiple types of dragons.
Once Ryuu turned 12, he was sent into the main village of Kumogakure to attend the Academy, a necessary task for any one aspiring to be a Shinobi. Before he reached the gate, his escort pulled him aside, as a final warning.
"Be careful of what you might see and hear young one. The corruption and imperfection within this village knows no bounds, and as you have not been out of the clan house before, it may come as a shock to you."
Confused, Ryuu nodded and turned away, walking into the bustling village high in the clouds for the first time. And he was shocked, despite his escort's warning. But not in distress or disgust, but it was a form of wonder. The bustling, laughing, cheering and crying, all of it was new to Ryuu. If someone was sad in the clan house, they smiled. It was always to put on a show, to prove their world was perfect to outsiders. And if Ryuu could guess correctly, the large majority of the clan did not feel the same form as sadness that this culture in front of him did.
And the first day of Academy was also a new experience for him. Never had he seen so many students of different clans and shapes and sizes in one place before. In order to maintain the image of perfection, a member of the Joushi clan had the same diet as everyone else, and although there were people who cheated on the diets, they had made sure to stay the same size and weight regardless of the scenario.
The third surprise of the day had come right after the class had started. During the introductions, the teacher asked him to come to the front and introduce himself, since there were not a lot of children from his clan who came down to the Academy, or at least often. As all eyes were on him, Ryuu had his first encounter with stage fright. It was a strange, and mildly terrifying feeling; the inability to talk, the loss of coherent thought processes, stammering and stuttering. And in the midst of that, the Joushi mantra passed through his head, snapping him back to reality. He could not disgrace the image the clan had provided him with, no matter what he thought, how he felt, or anything else. Straightening up and forming the handles for Kai he pulsed his chakra slightly, giving the impression that he was dispelling an illusion he cast, and kicked the floor slightly, knocking around and agitating some dirt. The combined effect made the students seem that Ryuu had made the entire thing an illusion, and as the dirt settled a different Ryuu stood in front of them.
Introducing himself quickly, and conceitedly, laughing slightly while doing so, Ryuu walked back up to his seat and sat down, all eyes on him while he did so. Sliding down into his seat and propping his feet up on the desk, he looked at the Chuunin running the class and raised his eyebrow, signifying his part was over. Flustered, the Chuunin called the next person down to introduce themselves, and proceeded with moving the class along quickly to cover up for his lapse.
The rest of the class was dull, and as Ryuu had expected, so were the majority of the following classes. At the same time however, it was also an interesting experience for him, being amongst so many people that saw no need to lie about anything. The world, as the Joushi believed, was imperfect and extremely flawed. While Ryuu saw that point of view, he also believed, beneath the percievable Joushi exterior, the world wasnt nearly as flawed as he was told to believe. By having those feelings build up inside him, Ryuu began to slowly take down the Joushi exterior he had been showing for so long, and started to disregard some of the Joushi traditions, such as laughing and taunting other people to feel good. And that was the beginning of the end of Joushi Ryuu.
Shortly after this change in personality, Ryuu was called to the office at the Academy, being told it was a Joushi emergency. Rushing and scrambling out of the class, completely forgetting his image as a Joushi member, he arrived at the office, panting and out of breath, and waited behind the door for a moment, before standing up straight and walking in slowly and calmly, his image back in place. Looking around, he saw no one but the Chuunin that was his teacher sitting at the desk, a piece of paper being held in his hand. Without saying a word, the Chuunin handed the paper to Ryuu, still looking down at the desk.
Confused, Ryuu took the paper and broke the seal on the letter before opening it slowly and reading it.
For failure to follow the Joushi way, Joushi Ryuu, you are hereby expelled from the clan. Your belongings have been moved to an apartment complex where your new living quarters shall be placed as per agreement with your parents.
Ryuu awoke in the hospital, his mind a complete blank as to what happened, or even where he was until a nurse, extremely flustered and confused rushed over the check his vitals and explain everything that had happened.
Having read the letter, Ryuu had immediately gone unconcious, the Joushi conditioning that had been imprinted in his brain for so long refusing to accept and understand the fact essentially caused him to go into a coma. That was three days ago. The fact that he had woken up however was what caused the nurse to go into a frenzy. Apparently whenever a Joushi had been expelled from the clan, they never woke up. Never.
Shaking his head and clarifying that he was alright, and then agreeing to another set of tests and staying for a couple more nights to verify he really was ok, Ryuu laid back down on the bed and closed his eyes, willing himself to fall asleep and start recovering from the large shock he had been slapped with. Right before he fell asleep however, a name popped in his head, not one he had heard before and was pretty sure that it wasnt even a real name or word. But the longer he played with it in his mind, the more he liked it. When he woke up tomorrow he would make sure to tell the nurse to change his name; he was no longer Joushi Ryuu, he was Zankishoto Ryuu.
Once he was released from the hospital fully, he talked with the Raikage and set out with a letter in his hand, a transfer letter. Due to the expulsion and the sheer pain of being so close to his old home, he could no longer live in Kumogakure and thus was required to move out in order to save his mental state. His destination? Kirigakure.

Having just left the Raikage's office, a note from the Raikage himself explaining the situation stuffed in his leg puch, Ryuu stepped onto the main drag of Kumogakure for what very well could have been his last time. Due to the explusion from his clan, and the subsequent proximity to his original home, Ryuu and the Raikage both had come to the conclusion that it would be a safe bet, and a more valuable one for Ryuu, to leave the village permanently. Not as a missing nin, but as a transfer to a nearby village.
Since Ryuu did not like the Idea of Konohagakure, the village just seemed too cheery and happy for him and his current, and probably permanent mood, the next bet was to jump on a ship and head to Kirigakure. The Raikage had given Ryuu a second letter, this one clutched in his hand, to take to the docks in the rear of Kumogakure and give to the next captain who would be sailing out of Kumo towards Kiri. He had also given Ryuu a pouch of money to help pay the way and make the captain more willing to deter his course and drop Ryuu off.
Luckily trader vessels and cargo ships had a type of immunity when docking at other village ports due to the necessity of trade in order to improve and substantiate the economy of a Hidden Village, so it wouldnt be nearly as big an ordeal as it would have been if Ryuu had left the village itself and became a missing nin in order to transfer to Kiri.
Handing his letter to the captain, along with half the bag of currency with the assurance the other half would be delivered upon arrival, Ryuu sat back in a small cabin reserved for shinboi travelling to different villages, and closed his eyes, trying to figure out whether or not he was actually capable of being sea sick considering he had lived in the mountains his entire life, and began trying to figure out how his life would go from here.

These projectiles are, of course, illusions, and similarly do not physically harm an opponent. However, wounds caused by them while not lasting cause as much pain upon impact as if they were real. Jukei forms the shurikens in front of the user, though they may be launched in any direction. An physical object striking them will cause the projectiles to dissipate, much like a Bushin. Name: Joui - Tomaru Rank: C Type: Genjutsu Range: Close/Mid Medium: Genjutsu Focus (Vocal) Element: N/A Description: The Joushi denies an opponent the right to move, summoning from the ground beneath an opponent a number of animated chains, covered with painful barbs capable of piercing the skin. These chains will shoot upward, spinning about a foe's body and entangling them while at the same time piercing their body. By physically imprisoning them while at the same time inflicting pain, Tomaru can easily disable a foe. This genjutsu, while quick, may be dodged, as well as broken if the shinobi can normally shatter metal chains. The chains may stretch out five meters from where they initially spring, unable to wrap an opponent beyond this distance. This genjutsu lasts as long as the illusionist is concentrated, making distractions a weakness. The illusion may be keyed, prepared as a trap to be initiated later on. The illusion serves to release a wave of despair, disillusioning a foe of their courage and impairing their resolve. The genjutsu serves as a method for Joushi members to force their opponent's to believe in their inferiority, and varies in effectiveness depending on the willpower of those effected by it. Name: Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu - Mist Servant Technique Rank: D Type: Genjutsu Medium: Optical Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: - Description: Kasumi Juusha no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that creates up to 5 false attackers to delay and confuse the enemy. Though these servants are not real, the actual ninja is able to remain hidden and throw kunai and shuriken matching the movements of the servants. This makes it appear the false servants are capable of attacking. When the enemy attempts to attack the servant, they will merely disrupt the servants illusion body but not destroy it. After the formation of the needed hand seals, the user will face their palms towards the user. Should the target look at the user's hands or arms during that phase, they will be caught under a visual based genjutsu. This genjutsu will cause the noise of dripping water to echo steadily through the target's head to the degree that it becomes hard to hear themselves think. Because of the steady pattern, it is extremely hard to fall asleep with this dripping, and thus it can be used as a torture method against many. After the formation of the needed hand seals, the user will expel a large amount of black mist from their mouths. The effective range of this genjutsu is ten meters, which is soon covered by the black mist. This genjutsu works in a way to enter the target(s) head and find their darknest fears before creating them and having them emerge from the black mist. Basically, this jutsu is a jutsu that does nothing more than create optical illusions of what the target(s) fears the most in order to pray on their weaknesses and fears during combat. All these effects cool down the body and make it return to normal temperatures. The offensive use of this technique would be of the similar origins, through contact the pulse emits a wave which cools the body where contacted. This effected area is no more than 40 cm in size and the affected area reacts much like any part of the body when cooled. Initial or brief contact merely cools the area, numbing it slightly to pain and reducing its speed of movement by 10%(in the case of limbs). If contact is maintained for more than one post, the limb or affected area will be further numbed and become slightly more brittle, making bones easier to break. The effects last for 2 posts after contact is broken. Chakra Cost: 4
Name: Ninpou; Mainā Shibire Mizu - Minor Numbing Water Rank: C Type: Eijutsu Element: Suiton Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m~10m), Far (10m+) Village: Kirigakure Description: This jutsu is developed and trained within Kirigakure as a village specific jutsu. After the formation of the needed hand seals, the user will touch a glass of water, or some other small, contained source of water. After this is done, the user of this jutsu will cause a small portion of medical chakra to filtrate into the water, which is then entered into the patient upon drinking or through water based IVs. When this water is introduced into the patient's body, it'll act as pain medications normally act when on high doses, dulling most pains, other then those that are severe and extreme. This is a jutsu to bring about convenience. Please note that this chakra only lasts for five posts, ending at the beginning of the sixth post, and does not bring on any other effects of pain medications. Chakra Cost: 6
Name: Shindan Shuhou - Diagnosis Technique Rank: C Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: After performing the needed handseals, the user releases a pulse of chakra through the patient’s body. The pulse then returns through their chakra network back into the user’s palms, giving them a mental image of where the chakra network seems to be flaring or lowering. This can give the user a better idea of the location and injury type that has been inflicted. For use in offense, this technique is capable to present a map of the opponent’s chakra network on contact which can be used to determine chakra natures and levels. Chakra Cost: 8
Name: Shousen no Jutsu - Mystical Hand Technique Rank: C-A Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: Shousen Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by medical ninja. This technique allows the ninja to heal wounds by focusing their own chakra to their hands. If the higher the medical ninja's rank is the quicker they are able to heal more critical and serious injuries. Injuries of equal rank may be healed in 1 post, and completely restored in 2. If choosing to heal a wound higher than the rank of the Shousen used, it requires 2 extra posts per rank. Thus C-rank Shousen healing an A-rank wound would require 5 posts to fully heal, while a B-rank wound would require 3 posts for instance. If healing a lower-ranked wound with a higher-ranked Shousen, the wound is fully healed in one post as opposed to two. Chakra Cost: C: 8CP (2 per post)
Name: Ningen Sukiningu Shuhou - Human Skinning Technique Rank: C-A Type: Medical Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: A medical technique used to cause external harm on the victim’s body. The user will charge chakra into their hands and will release it on the enemy’s skin upon touch. The technique will send out a wave of chakra, the damage of which depends on the user’s skill. At C Rank, the wave can cause minor cuts of a twenty centimeter radius on the target’s body. At B Rank, the victim will suffer more serious cuts and wounds (such wounds would cause no serious damage, merely require a minor case of stitches to repair) over 40 cm area of contact of their body. At A Rank, the wave is able to inflict severe cuts and flesh wounds (these wounds are serious if not treated within 10 posts and with a great deal of accuracy can damage internal organs) at a 60cm area of contact on the victim’s body, or even nearly amputate an arm through extremely deep cuts. Name: Chakra Byōki - Chakra Disease Rank: C-S Type: Eijutsu Range: Close (0M) Element: N/A Description: After making a long string of hand signs during which the user's hands start to glow with chakra it is manipulated into a corruptive, disease like form, the user forcibly injects it into the opponent's chakra circulatory system. This chakra acts like a "disease," forcing the opponent's chakra to activate an immune response to contain it, tying up sources and increasing the cost of the afflicted's jutsu. In order to inflict this on an enemy they must be touched. At C-rank, the enemy's jutsu cost will be increased by 2 CP per jutsu for 1 post. At B-rank, cost will be increased by 4 CP per jutsu for 2 posts. A-rank, 6CP per jutsu for 3 posts. S-rank, 10CP per jutsu for3 posts. Name: Henge no Jutsu • Transformation Technique Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique transforms the user’s appearance to that of another object or person. However, it is not a permanent transformation and a mental image of what they are transformed into. Certain aspects of a ninja will not change merely by transformation, these things may include injuries, tool pocket placements etc. The jutsu will dispel should the user be injured. The user does not gain the properties of their transformation (ie. horse like strength), and may only transform into something ranging between 1/2 of their regular size, to 2x their regular size. This is done mere seconds before an attack lands, thus making the attacker believe his or her attack was a success. Whatever object was used to alter places will receive the brunt of the enemy’s attack instead. The object that the user switches with must be preset somewhere else in the thread, meaning that the object must have received specific mention previously in the thread. Chakra Cost: 2

Name: Kai • Release Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: By stopping the flow of chakra in their body, and then applying an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra; the user may dispel the effects of a genjutsu. This can also be used on another individual that is stuck in a genjutsu by preforming the necessary hand seal and then touching them, although it consumes half the chakra cost of the Genjutsu. Name: Nawanuke no Jutsu • Escaping Skill Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to free themselves should they be tied up. It is extremely basic. Using their physical training, the user will twist and contort their body to loosen their bindings, effectively relieving themselves of the tightness of their bindings and slipping through the restraints. This technique can only be used if the user is of equal or higher rank than their captor. Chakra Cost: 1
Name: Chozou no Jutsu • Storage Technique Rank: E Type: Fuuinjutsu, Supplementary Range: Close (0m - 5m) Element: N/A Description: A simple jutsu that allows a ninja to seal or unseal any item, mostly weapons, from scrolls or from their body. After forming the necessary handsigns, the ninja will seal the item into a scroll etc. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons or have other seals inside of them, which expands the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use. The items themselves are unaffected by time. Ninjutsu can also be stored in scrolls, to be released when the scroll is opened, but require another person to cast said Ninjutsu; else it cannot be sealed. Chakra Cost: 1 to seal; 1 to unseal.
Name: Suimen Hokou no Waza • Act of Water Surface Walking Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: NA Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on water by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet or hands. Because of water’s nature, this requires the user to be quick to adjust the amount of chakra they must emit to their feet in order to maintain a constant balance. Users may also walk, run and “skate” across the water when using this technique. Chakra Cost: 1 (1 per post)
Name: Kinobori no Waza • Act of Tree Climbing Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on trees and vertical walls by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet. Gravity can easy be defined if this technique is mastered, allowing people to even stand upside down. If too much chakra is exerted the user will be pushed away; bark breaking and causing the user to then fall. If not enough chakra is exerted the user will lose their footing and fall. Chakra Cost: 1 (1 per post)

On that note, edited accordingly.
Also, some notes to everyone:
-Unless Ryuu has specifically told someone, or they have researched into his past, no one knows he is of Joushi decent, except for the Jounin and Chuunin in Kumogakure. This is because of the name change, and his unwillingness to talk about his past. This is also in order to prevent meta-gaming about the verbal genjutsu and avoiding it.
-As above, since one of my first topics as Ryuu will be joining Kirigakure (specified in history why), unless Ryuu tells someone his specialties, they are unknown. Also in order to prevent metagaming, since Ryuu is new to Kirigakure, and has not gone to the Academy and socialized with the fellow shinobi in the village.
-All of Ryuu's Genjutsu can be considered as having a verbal focus point due to his clan. The trigger in question will be specified during the topic. (Keep in mind some clan techniques allow for prior set up and utilization as a trap. Same concept applies: the trigger will be specified when used).
Lastly, Aaron, there seems to be a coding issue with the last part of my app (Face Claim) where everything is set to the size=16 and bold I used, but I cannot seem to find it. Everything I saw was coded and cancelled correctly. Can you take a look for me? |
