THE INFO.

Name: Nara, Yami
Nickname: None
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Long, light brown hair, that she usually leaves straight. She has pale white skin, and light brown eyes. There is a scar under her eye (not shown above). On a casual day, she wears a white and read top with a red skirt and a white coattail. She has white leggings and white shoes, also worn casually. She completes the look with the sword at her waist.

As she is a fighter, she is strong. She has an athletic body type, and her right arm is stronger than her left. A tomboy attitude leaves her without makeup, letting her scar show. Though she is rough, her kind eyes seem to set it all off. Topped with a calming smile, her natural beauty captivates young men, while still masking her true self.

Forehead Protector: She keeps it tied onto her sword scabbard.
Personality: Like other members of her clan, she finds herself getting bored easily at everything, yet takes things seriously when she needs to. Though some may call her lazy, she would fight to the end, especially if it were to help a friend. She is loyal to everyone, including her village. If she had to choose between losing her life and betraying her village, she would give her life.

THE NINJA.

Specialities: Ninjutsu, Weaponry
Elemental Affinities: Fire
Combat Style: Though she practices her inherited Ninjutsu, her favored combat is with her rapier. Most of her training involves swordplay. As a result, she has gotten strong in her right arm, so if she happens to be disarmed, she can always result in a fist fight. However, she is most graceful when wielding her sword in combat, as her hand to hand fighting is very clumsy.

THE BACKGROUND.

History: "Keep running, Yami!" Her instructor yelled as a 12 year old Yami stopped to breathe. They were on the track at the academy, and though she was almost a lap ahead of the other students, the teacher urged her on. "You can't stop just because you have an advantage! Think of how that would play out in battle! You get an advantage, and you get cocky! KEEP RUNNING!" He yelled, and Yami began running again. "This is such a drag," she mumbled under her breath.

As she rounded the next bend, she managed to catch up to some of the slower kids that had fallen behind. One was larger, a boy from the Akimichi clan. He looked up and gaped at Yami as she casually jogged past him. She was grinning, feeling accomplished. She soon finished her last lap. "Good job, Yami," her instructor said, "Keep it up, and you will certainly graduate at the exams next week." Yami smiled at the instructor. Though he was strict, he was her friend, and she was happy to receive praise from him.

Sure enough, Yami passed the test with flying colors. She was put in a squad with two boys: One from the Inuzuka clan, named Akira, and one from the Sarutobi clan, named Kai, who was a direct descendant of the third Hokage. The three quickly became friends, and combined their efforts to accomplish their missions. Their Sensei was a man from the Hyuga clan, who combined his Byakugan and sword fighting skills in combat, named Ando. It was from him that Yami eventually learned swordplay.

One day, the squad, like many others, begged the Hokage for a more difficult mission. "Please, Lord Hokage?" Akira begged, in sink with his dog. Finally, their academy instructor spoke up. "Alright, fine. A C rank mission, but nothing more, you got that?" He said as he handed a scroll to Ando. "It shouldn't be too dangerous, it's just a simple escort mission. I'm sure you will be able to handle it with Ando at your side," he said before the squad walked out the door.

"Alright!" Kai yelled when they finally stepped out of the city. They were to escort a man from the hidden leaf to a small village nearby. However, as the group was getting closer to the village, they were ambushed. As was their training, the group surrounded the man they were escorting as they prepared to defend him. But nobody expected the man to have a knife, and nobody was prepared for him to stab Ando in the back. All three Genin turned when they heard Ando cry out in pain. The man was grinning. "That takes care of that enemy," he said as Ando fell to the ground. "L-Luke! I...never expected you would return...and that disguise..." Ando managed to say. The man just laughed. "I have waited so long to get my revenge, Ando. Your death will be slow and painful, while i prolong the deaths of these three."

Kai and Akira both drew Kunai knives. Both of them were shaking in fear. Yami drew her sword. Hearing a sound behind her, she spun around to see two men behind her, each one armed with a knife similar to Luke's. "Look out!" she yelled. Kai spun around quick enough the parry the strike, but Akira wasn't as fast, and the knife ended up buried in his side. He fell to the ground, wailing in pain. Panicking, Yami and Kai tried desperately to fight of the two men. Disarmed, Yami was able to knock the man who stabbed Akira unconscious, and went to help Kai, but was met by a shuriken that flew right towards her. She moved out of the way, but not quick enough to prevent the blade from cutting under her eye.

"Yami! Help!" Kai yelled. He was losing. There was a deep cut on his arm, and the man was standing over him as he knelt on the ground. Angry, Yami lunged forward, stabbing her sword into the man's stomach. When she pulled it out, he fell dead instantly. Luke stood with a smile on his face. "Not bad. Both of you are impressive fighters. But can you stand against me?" he said with a grin. In a flash, a kunai knife was flying through the air toward Yami. She knocked it away with her sword, then ran at Luke, anger burning in her eyes. With a loud yell, she began attacking him, and though he was an experienced fighter, Yami was too fast, and she eventually had him on the ground, her sword tip at his throat. Terror covered his face.

"You killed my sensei and attacked my friends. For that you must die." She said. She winced as the wind blew on her face, causing the scratch to sting. With the wind came Jounin from the hidden leaf village. "Luke! So you did return!" one of them said. Another turned toward Yami. "Run. We'll take it from here," he said. Yami backed away from Luke and ran to Kai, who was miraculously still conscious. She bandaged his arm and helped him stand up. They looked at the ground, where both Akira and Ando lay dead. Yami quickly looked away, tears welling up in her eyes. "We were used. We were bait. All of this to get revenge on Ando for something. But it won't happen again."

Later that day, Yami sat in Kai's hospital room. "He'll be alright," the nurse said as she walked out of the room. "He will be able to check out by tonight." Yami waited for her to leave, then said, "Now what?" It was a question they had both been thinking. Without a sensei and a third squad member, they would no longer be a squad, not as Genin. Kai sat up. "We wait. And we train. Maybe we'll get a new Jounin to be our sensei. But it will be hard to replace Ando, and impossible to replace Akira," he said. Yami just nodded, feeling the bandage on her face. "Well then, that's all we can do. Things will get better, I hope," she said.

For the next three years, the two began training to become Chunin. Shocked from the original battle, they decided to wait until they were 15 to enter the Chunin exams, just to make sure they were ready. And as they spent more time together, the two became closer and closer, each developing hidden feelings for the other which neither dared voice aloud. As best friends, they await the Chunin exams.
Roleplay Sample: (Alright, this is an example from a different RPG that I am a part of. Though the character has the same name, they are totally different, and should not be confused)

"Yami walked into town, hoping to find shelter for the night. The life a person who is constantly traveling is a hard one she thought. As she neared the inn, she noticed a fight, and then some guy dressed in black stopping them. The two men fled without another thought. Yami decided to get closer and figure out why.

'Wow, that was pretty great of you to stop that fight. Always thinking of others first?' She asked as she got close enough for him to hear. She noticed that other people were avoiding the boy as well, but she had no idea why. Living in such a public place as this, people get judged all the time, especially with all of the Nobles around, She thought. Then she looked up and into his eyes, maybe expecting something to fear there, but all she saw was kindness and a little bit of sorrow. Even though he was probably about a year younger then her, he was still much taller, and she had to look up to see into his eyes.

'Hungry?' She asked, then said, Come on, i'll buy you something And with that started walking to a nearby restaurant, indicating for him to follow."

The Ninja

Specialties: Shadow Possession Jutsu is not a specialty. Please click HERE to view the available specialties. You may choose two out of any of the seven specs. Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Weaponry, etc. These two specialties define what jutsu you may possess. Due to being a Nara, I recommend Ninjutsu because most Nara clan jutsu are "Ninjutsu" techniques.
Elemental Affinities: You may choose two elements if you so desire.
Combat Style: Please include more details for this section. Once again, two paragraphs with complete sentences is recommended. How does your character like to fight? Hit and run tactics, a fearless tank on the battlefield or do you lurk in the shadows and kill silently. There are many different tactics and here is where you can write a brief description of the combat style in which encapsulates your character. This in some regards can be seen as a characters 'Combat Nindō'. Include such things as your strengths/weaknesses, the range in which your character likes to fight, any martial or other styles they have learn't, and your 'trump card' or otherwise known as 'Signature Jutsu'.
Special Characteristics: For this section you actually choose characteristics from HERE. Due to being a Genin; you may have 1 Combat SC, 1 Social SC, and 1 Affliction SC if you desire. Combat SC's include anything under the Physical Based, Mental Based, and Chakra based sections.

Jutsu: Rather than listing out what jutsu you own; I ask that you please copy/paste jutsu or create your own jutsu utilizing our jutsu template. I'll get you started with an example. You listed Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu. Rather than just listing... it should look more like this.

Katon Jutsu

- Your are allowed to choose or create 15 C rank jutsu (and below). You can find all kinds of jutsu in our Encyclopedia. Link = Here. Your jutsu are affected by the two specialties you select and the two elements you select.
Example, if you choose Taijutsu and Genjutsu are your specialties then you cannot have Ninjutsu based techniques.
Example, if you choose Katon and Suiton as your elements, you cannot have Raiton, Fuuton, or Doton based techniques.
Choose wisely when selecting specialties and elements. You will have the chance to add a third element and the chance to train a third specialty when you reach Jounin rank; keep that in mind.
Also, two things not to forget.
- Make sure you copy/paste C-rank and below Nara techniques so you can use them! You'll find those in the "Nara Clan" topic (Link)
- Add the Academy Jutsu (Here). These do not count towards your 15 allowed jutsu.
Equipment: You may have a kit. See Here for details. Usually people select "Genin Kit" or create their own kit but honestly you can choose any of the kits that are C-rank and below.

I know this might seem like a lot but just take everything one piece at a time and you'll have your character approved in no time. You are off to a good start; just need some adjustments here and there. Smile

You are more than welcome to use my application as an example. I have ranked up since I first started and therefore have more jutsu, weapons, longer history, etc... but feel free to look over it for ideas.
