~~Clan~~ Cult Name:The Pantheon of Olympus

Location:The mountains of Kumogakure

Signature Traits:
Cult Mentality: Members of the cult are dedicated believers in the Pantheon, any attempt to disprove or belittle the ideals of the cult by outsiders are generally met with hostility and even outward aggression depending on how severe the attempts.

Living in Obscurity: Due to the clan being up in the mountains and being a relatively new clan, very little is known about them. As a result even upon seeing the ability most people still will not know what it is they are.

Mere Mortals: Unlike other shinobi they are not specifically trained in combat or taught how to use jutsu. As a result they are normally simple humans with a belief and an ability granted by what they believe to be the Pantheon. That being said, they do their own combat practice and as a result are very adept with weapons and hand to hand combat. Side note: Think Rock Lee but with weapons as well

Acolyte Lifestyle: The cult is very secluded up in the mountains of Kumogakure. They life in isolation and try to be as self sustainable as humanly possible in one environment. To a large degree they are successful, but every now and then they have to travel down the mountains to obtain goods they otherwise could not get.

Immense Discipline: As a result of the lifestyle they lead, the members of the cult are extremely disciplined. They spend all of their time either training or praying with little to no breaks except for sleeping and eating. They have a very strong bond within the cult as a result and everyone knows each other. The atmosphere is always tense, but never hostile.

Cult Hierarchy: Much like most religious or cult groups, the Pantheon too has a structure. Due to the geographical placement of the cult and the familial bond everyone shares the authority is never questioned and is always accepted. That being said, the structure changes somewhat frequently due to trying to find the most optimal way to worship. This hierarchy is just a standard hierarchy that grants no real advantages similar to the class system except to the high priest. People of lower authority are not granted or reduced in anything.

Physical Beauty: Due to the ability of the cult, members keep their bodies in the absolute best shape possible and take the body as a temple mentality to the extreme, they follow strict physical regimes as well as unchangeable diets. As a result however, they rarely become ill and have heightened immune systems towards naturally occurring illnesses.

~The Problem of Mortality~

Humans as a species are extremely limited. They are unable to perform many physical feats that other animals can perform, much like a Gorilla is far stronger than a human, or a cheetah is much faster. As a result of this, the cult's people are too limited. Firstly, in their human state they are unable to perform any jutsu except for Taijutsu and weaponry jutsu, that being said they can still have the academy jutsu. They are also restricted from having an element. This isn't necessarily biological, however due to the way the clan functions their bodies age and develop in a way that as they age it becomes harder to learn jutsu.

~Avatar Of the Gods~

It is believed to counteract this the Gods came down and granted the ordinary people of the mountains the ability of 'The Avatar.' This then prompted the mountain dwellers to give up everything they knew and start to worship the divine beings they had just seen.

'The Avatar' is both a blessing and a curse. The curse is that during the state of divine possession the member losing their consciousness and it is over taken by the God. They also lose their memory of the time during the possession which is probably what allows them to be good candidates for this type of jutsu.

The blessing is that, whilst being an Avatar, the cult's people gain access to far different abilities of their own. In a sense they completely change as a person. Their specialization changes to fit the Deity, they gain a specific element that also goes with the deity. Finally, their personality completely re-writes itself as they lose control and the Gods personality takes over, this allows them to perform tasks otherwise impossible by the person themselves as chances are, the God is happy to do it. This control can however be altered in that the member can make requests per say to the God possessing them; such as to learn jutsu.

~The Avatar~

The reason for the clans people being unable to perform jutsu themselves but also being able to perform near enough any type of jutsu is quite simple in explanation but is very complex in practice.

Their inability is due to the beating their own chakra system takes as they hop from one Avatar to the next. The constant change and reworking of it, is simply too much for the human body to repair, and as a result it stays damaged and restricted, so much so that it prevents the cult's people from moulding chakra, though they can still channel it through the body.

Now, the reason for the ability is that as the Deity takes control over the body their body completely changes to compensate. This obviously puts a massive strain on the body especially when the chakra network in the body has to completely rework and change to fit the God. This is the base reason that changes them completely. With the system itself changing so too do its properties, hence the elemental change too.

Due to the nature and intricacies of the techniques, the base jutsu for the clan must be learnt in topic, except for one. Similarly, due to the way the Avatars work, all jutsu they wish their avatar to use must be learnt in a topic via becoming the Avatar and then training.
