Spoiler:

The Jounin Proctor stands at the center between Jaki and Ame. The proctor waits for a few seconds once both combatants appear ready to start. He raises a white flag high into the air for a second to acknowledge the beginning of the match. After three seconds he brings the flag down in a blur and yells start. The Jounin moves out of the way instantly to watch the match.

Let the match begin!

The genin showcase is a huge arrangement with across two lands. It is an interesting scenario; the tournament did not occur very often so Jaki had to participate in it. Also, if he didn't Hira-sensei would have had plenty to say about it. The leading days seemed like they didn't exist, like he just popped up in this arena with another shinobi 5 meters away from him. He couldn't remember much from the previous days. The Shikigami didn't appear to be nervous but he was, it is nearly impossible to not be nervous. He stood firm and tall and he examined his opponent. Jaki couldn't gather an abundance of intelligence from a visually examination. 'Konoha Shinobi, no weapon...' That wasn't much to go off of, he didn't even know his name. His eyes hastily shifted to survey his surroundings, just to verify. The Shikigami had been given plenty of time to think of a multitude of strategies. He will be prepared for anything and he will have the means to overcome. He took a deep breathe, remembering everyone and everything that he represents, the air chilled out of his mouth as the Jonin signaled for the start. His scarlet red eyes turned into a piercing, judgmental glare.

Begin!

The words wouldn't begin to echo before Jaki moved and he didn't have to move much. Both his hands shoot forward as his own body started to flicker away into sheets of paper. His body hastily shaved off pieces of paper from his frontal, including the torso, legs and even his face. A sly grin started to flicker upon his face as a massive battalion of individual papers charged towards the Konoha genin. The individual pieces of paper were incredibly sharp and dense. These sheets of paper are also very agile and quick. They could cover half the distance between the two shinobi in only a second. The two genin were only 5 meters away so it wouldn't be difficult for either of them to get hit from such a close distance. The ideal solution would be to finish this guy in one blow and prepare for the next round. There was a sense of pride in Jaki, there was absoultly no way he would lose in the first round and not even in the second round. He represents people that he needs to make proud and if not, he'll consider himself a failure.

The genin's eyes pondered at the other shinobi, he watched all that he could and it was easy for him to see past the sheets of paper. That is how he has always fought so he was used to it, but other people weren't. The paper could easily hide his body so he could perform quick fancy tricks in the hidden view. He was prepared too. 'Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.' That quote had stood the test of time and has brought only greatness. His eyes peered through the paper watching the other shinobi. Jaki is always two steps ahead of the game and he knows actually what to do; he will do it without hesitation. Of course, he won't kill the genin but he will force a defeat upon him.

PostSubject: Re: Shikigami, Jaki vs. Oriru, Ame [Concluded] Shikigami, Jaki vs. Oriru, Ame [Concluded] EmptyWed 24 Dec 2014, 10:54 am

Ame took his place opposite that of his opponent, his eyes closed and his head slightly tilted downwards. A Jounin Procter stood between them, preparing to call the start of the battle. He wasn't in this tournament to win it. Ame merely wanted to test himself against Shinobi from both his country and the other country that was participating in the Winter Genin Tournament. He would study the differences in strength between himself and others of his Shinobi ranking. It didn't matter to him if they were from a renowned clan or just your average Shinobi. The fact that they were still within the Genin rank made them the best possible candidates.

Images of the past few weeks flooded his mind. He saw his strength grow through his constant training, the bond that had been formed between he and Kiyomi-Sensei. And then, in an instant, he completely wiped them from his mind. In their place, he called forth memories that haunted him to this very day. He saw the flames that engulfed his home, the bodies of his parents, and the sacrifice of his late Sensei. And lastly, the reason for his becoming a Shinobi: To track down and kill the man responsible for the pain of his past. This was his reason for continuing to live now, bottling it up until he needed to remember it.

Ame's eyes snapped open. The look of a happy and caring young man, Ame's true facade, was wiped away instantaneously, replaced by an expression that unnerve many opponents. It was as if his serious eyes stared straight into your soul. The facade that Kiyomi-Sensei had come to know was no longer present, consumed by his true self. A metaphorical demon that had been freed from its shackles.

Begin!

The battle had begun, and as predictable as ever, his opponent moved to attack in an instant. It was paper, an indication of a clan. However, Ame was one step ahead of him. He formed the three hand seals required for the basic Clone Technique - Ram -> Snake -> Tiger. Five intangible clones appeared in front of Ame. He barely made it in time, the five clones dispersing, drawing the attention of the bits of razor sharp paper with milliseconds to spare. With the paper divided up amongst the five clones, Ame took advantage of the situation and charged towards Jaki. I can't use my water techniques or most of my Genjutsu in here. That leaves only a single viable option. One by one, Ame pulled out his shuriken and threw them at his opponent. His goal was to put Jaki on the defensive until he could get close enough to strike. If this didn't work, then he only had one other alternative, and even that would be a long shot.
____________________________

In Ame's mind, he was drifting amongst a black void, devoid of all color and light. Yet, he could see his own hand and body. His body felt numb, yet he could sense anger, bloodlust, intense sadness... and melancholy. Are those... my feelings? He began to contemplate why it is he felt that way. And no matter how much he thought about it, only a single thought came to mind, yet he didn't know what had prompted it. I have stared into the eyes of death.... and embraced its inevitability. Ame's thoughts grew silent once more. The feelings that he had previously sensed continued to linger, continued to torment him. Is this... how I truly feel? ...Is this... who I truly am?

The abundant amount of paper raced towards Ame and Jaki watched as the boy turned into a demon. The paper is similar to Jaki in the sense of determination. His jutsu do not fail him and they will subdue his target; be it not of the first try, then the second try will be successful. The optimistic hope that the battle will end soon did not leave the mind of Jaki for he was playing a game of shogi and setting up his pieces to deliver the final blow. The Shikigami stood alone on the battleground with no one or no thing to help defend against harm's way; or yet, it could be a simple tactic devised on deception. His eyebrow rose as he barely evaded the paper due to three simple headseals that led to the creation of five clones, leading to a grand total of six Ames. There was a shield of confidence (partially arrogance) that surrounded Jaki, one that kept fear and despair at bay. In fact, he encouraged the unfortunate beast, the underdog to campaign against him. The thirty sheets of paper divided to attack all six of the Ames. It really wasn't a bad idea but it didn't seem to handle the paperwork so much as just to delay it. In fact, Jaki would have applauded the idea. The jutsu was low on charka and it was used properly. He felt that many people forgotten all about the jutsu they learned in the Academy but a few of them are actually quite effective.

Unfortunately, the Kumo shinobi would be rather unimpressed with his next move. The real Ame would quickly reveal himself by being the one to launch an assault at the Shikigami. Five meters kept the distance between the two; this would give Jaki more than enough space. With aplomb, his right hand crept behind his back as he watched the eyes of his enemy. "Paper Person Technique!" He shouted with all of his might with his right hand performing hand seals behind his back. His left foot pivoted, shifting his balance and his hips allowing two shurikens to inch past his body.  The battlefield was abnormally quiet so his voice could easily be heard. In that moment, he felt like the messenger of the gods.

Jaki had become a herald of his word, a herald of victory. Ame must have only been 4 meters from Jaki by the time this all occurred. The Shikigami granted himself space in case the genjutsu would fail; he felt like it most likely wouldn’t. In fact, no one has ever gotten out of the genjutsu without exterior help before. If the genjutsu landed, then sheets of paper would float out of Jaki to create another being. This being is usually a loved one who will often speak to the target. Even if Ame were able to determine it a genjutsu in an instant, it would delay him on the battlefield. He’d also have to figure out how to remove the loved person. Jaki would also immediately remove himself from harms way by leaping and running towards his right. Shuriken whizzed past as he jumped to a safer distance. It was smart to move at a diagonal because the paper would have to travel less distance to protect Jaki. Every cog moves so elegantly in this perfect machine.

The thirty sheets of paper quickly started to chase Ame as soon as he revealed himself. This means that thirty sheets of paper is once again chasing Ame down and a genjutsu is being casted upon him.

Shikigami, Jaki vs. Oriru, Ame [Concluded] Vide
PostSubject: Re: Shikigami, Jaki vs. Oriru, Ame [Concluded] Shikigami, Jaki vs. Oriru, Ame [Concluded] EmptyTue 30 Dec 2014, 7:36 am

Ame charged towards Jaki, the intent to kill growing stronger by the second. He had been throwing Shuriken after Shuriken at Jaki, using up all ten of his Shuriken in an attempt to get close enough to strike with one of his Raiton techniques. However, as he grew closer, Ame noticed that the paper had deduced the real Ame from the clones. To keep them off his back just a little bit longer, Ame performed the three hand seals once more and summoned 10 clones that ran alongside him. They crossed paths with one another multiple times in order to confuse the paper as to which one was the real Ame. He knew it wouldn't work for very long, if only for a seconds. But seconds was all Ame would need to reach his target and strike.

Ame pulled a Kunai from his pouch as quickly as possible and hurled it through the air just as Jaki's Genjutsu was cast. He was caught in the Genjutsu, a visage of his mother appearing before him. His movements began to slow as Ame's facade began to return, replacing the monster that was truly Ame. Tears began to trickle from his eyes as he was filled with what felt like joy... and then his Kunai pierced through his mothers head, passing through her as if she weren't even there. Ame's facade receded as quickly as it had surfaced, once again overcome by the bloodlust from before, except even more intense after briefly believing that he had accidentally killed his beloved mother. His anger and pain was so intense that he broke through the Genjutsu.

Up until now, Ame hadn't been running at full speed. But now, with his sense and judgement clouded, he picked up his pace and split off entirely from the clones he had created. He no longer cared if the paper caught up with him. ...Kill... His hands connected multiple times as they formed the hand seals for Boar -> Ram -> Snake -> Horse -> Dragon. His right arm surged with electricity. He pulled it back and leaped into the air. By this time, the paper had already passed by the clones and was quickly closing in on Ame. He paid it absolutely no attention, focusing solely on the boy in front of him. ...He must die... Ame was now within one meter of his opponent. The anger and intent to kill was clear on his face. While it was not Jaki that Ame truly wanted to kill, his senses were gone, and Jaki was merely in his line of fire, now mistaken for someone else entirely. In Ame's disillusioned eyes, Jaki was replaced by a tall man with hair as black as night and skin as pale someone deprived of sunlight, a Kirigakure headband adorning his forehead. Ame's eyes opened as wide as they possibly could. Die!!! He thrust his right arm forward to close what little was left of the gap between he and Jaki. The electricity that had built up in his arm and hand shot forth towards Jaki. Unfortunately, at Ame's current level, this jutsu was not enough to kill someone, not unless sustained for a period of time. If it connected, it would be one hell of a painful surge of electricity.

As the jutsu flew forth from Ame's hand, it lasted only a few short seconds before being cut short as the 30 pieces of paper crashed into Ame and wrapped around him tightly. The paper sparked as Ame's electricity dissipated. He was completely encased by the paper as it tightened around him. Ame began to lose consciousness. As he did, his anger and bloodlust slowly began to subside. And as it did, with what little vision Ame had left, he watched as the the man before his eyes reverted back to what Jaki truly looked like. His eyes then closed and his consciousness faded completely.

The Konoha genin charged towards the Shikigami but there was not much left for Jaki to do. The wave of paper, set out like hounds to unite with its owner once again. There was only one thing stopping the reunification between the two and that was Ame. The two shinobi were very busy and occupied. Jaki was more concerned with evasive at this point. His feet clapped the ground with each footstep one foot closer to his wave of protection. Of course, he could always create a new wave to produce some interesting effects but the idea seemed too tedious at this point. Shuriken whizzed passed his body; he was impressed with the accuracy because they would have had devastating effects if they landed. Not even Jaki could land those on a mobile shinobi, so he understood the frustrations that Ame was. Of course, being Jaki he was never very concerned with getting hit by a shuriken.

That same cheeky grin of his took over as he watched his opponent. There was always that feeling of glory, of greatness when one successfully lands a genjutsu. It truly becomes an art of deception and Jaki finds beauty in it. The art of genjutsu requires cunningness and intelligence; it is quite the tool. If anything, there it sparks a light in Jaki; a light that seems to never flickers or dim.

Footsteps were stopped as he watched his enemy battle with himself. It always amused Jaki to think that he has casted this genjutsu on people before, but he has no idea what they are thinking. Jaki wanted to know what was going on in his mind, he wanted to know who he saw; he honestly wanted to know the story of this Konoha shinobi. He felt that everyone had a story, even if it was a boring story.

His blank face turned into an expression. An expression of disbelief engulfed his face, his eyes widening and his mouth opening just enough for Ame to see. How could have anyone broken that genjutsu? The Shikigami was shocked but impressed. A pat on the back goes to his opponent for breaking it, if only he knew what happened in this mind; maybe he could stop it next time. However, he will never know. Ame looked furious, something happened in there that Jaki wished he knew, something that pissed him off even more. Multiple clones appeared as the wave of paper turned into a hurricane. Sheets of paper twirling through the battlefield, flapping trying to figure out which Ame was not a clone. It was an interesting plan but there was simply no way a man could outnumber his sheets of paper. The prowess of a Shikigami could defeat a battle with a single sheet of paper...let alone two hundred.

The general of the paper army stood still. He watched as his enemy got nearer and nearer to him. He had no idea what to expect from this boy but this confidence was oozing out of his pores. He knew that his paper would save him...yet being a shinobi; he was truly prepared for anything. His eyes were focused on the hands of the other shinobi. It couldn't be another set of clones, something more practical and offensive. Not that it was predictable but it was necessary and Jaki knew it was coming. His right hand reached behind his back and started to jitter. A wave of electricity shot through the air and managed to cut horizontally into the waist of Jaki. It was powerful enough for Jaki's body to be sliced into two pieces. Ame could see it, his attack landed successfully.

The two severed pieces started to fall to the ground as the paper was swallowing Ame. The sheets of paper must have blocked Ame's vision at this point. Before the body could hit the ground it broke off into petals of paper and graciously landed on the ground safely. Only then, did Jaki appear next to the sheets of fallen petals.
