The Jounin Proctor stands at the center between Yusuke and Hiryuu. The proctor waits for a few seconds once both combatants appear ready to start. He raises a white flag high into the air for a second to acknowledge the beginning of the match. After three seconds he brings the flag down in a blur and yells start. The Jounin moves out of the way instantly to watch the match.

Let the match begin!

PostSubject: Re: Uchiha, Yusuke vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu Uchiha, Yusuke vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu EmptyThu 05 Feb 2015, 7:44 pm

So much time had passed between each battle Hiryuu forgot Yusuke was even in the tournament. It no longer became a matter of fighting to end up across from Yusuke, but simply fighting to grow. Hiryuu's training had afforded him victory after victory, but now his toughest opponent was standing only five meters away from him. Yusuke's slick grin slithered across his lips, it reminded Hiryuu of him before they became friends.

And now, with a proctor and a bridge about them their friendship was going to turn.

Hiryuu had the advantage by all rights. He was close quarters master in comparison to Yusuke, but there was one thing Hiryuu didn't have. Confidence. Yusuke's strength was something to be feared, and one blow had the potential to end the battle. Coupled with the Sharingan, Yusuke only needed a single blow to win, but would he get it? Maybe. Maybe not. Uncertainty was Hiryuu's weakness, but he had training. He had years of spending time mastering he Gentle Fist. This battle lied between the eyes.

No doubt Yusuke had something stupid to say, but Hiryuu didn't need to say anything and hopefully Yusuke might squander any cheesy puns or one-liners. There was a saying that shinobi of the highest caliber can communicate with their fists. Hiryuu and Yusuke needed no blows to exchange words, only their eyes. And with one glance the battle was underway.

As soon as the proctor jumped out of the way, Hiryuu moved into a gentle fist stance. He brought his right fist to waist level, tucking it into a loose fist next to his hip. His left arm was held forward, his heels a few inches in front of his right toes. There was nothing much for Hiryuu to do, charging into Yusuke was his last idea. Hiryuu of all, would remain calm and ready to react to anything. The tides of battle changed easily.

Fighting head on in a clash so early wasn't the smart thing to do, they both shared knowledge on some of each others techniques. Coupled with the Sharingan, missing or being off just a few spaces from any intended target on Yusuke's body might just be enough for Hiryuu to lose. Where the Byakugan had eyes that could see everything, the Sharingan had clairvoyance.

But there was one thing Yusuke didn't know about Hiryuu in detail. He kept his weapons arts hidden for the most part. Hiryuu had the watchful eyes of the Hyuuga bearing down upon him, from clan members to Hyuuga working as scouts for the village. There were always eyes everywhere. So Hiryuu kept most of his kenjutsu hidden. Even if he had used it for something entirely practical within the village walls, that would always be met with extra training for some unknown reason at home. The Elders were always on about how his hands were sharper than any sword.

The moment Yusuke's hands shot towards his ninja pockets, Hiryuu assumed he was going to do the same thing he did to his other opponents. Provoke some type of response by throwing things. And as he drew the shuriken in his hands and fired them off at alarming speeds, Hiryuu responded. Since there were eight total shuriken with a few feet of space between them, Hiryuu saw that he only had two to really worry about, the two center most shuriken. The ones on the other side of the shuriken aimed towards his chest would miss entirely as the space between his rib cage and his shoulders were too short. (And thus all of them beyond that)

Watching Yusuke carefully, Hiryuu didn't see Yusuke's hands in any odd positions or his fingers lingering from his pockets. From what he could see of the fast moving shuriken the moment they were thrown is that they were just shuriken. Nothing else. No tricks or explosives or wires.

As they approached, coming up to halfway, Hiryuu pointed his right foot right and slid it about seven inches right quickly. This gave him a sort of pseudo horse stance since his knees were bent. The shuriken would more than likely collide with Hiryuu's ribcage if they were to hit, more specifically the upper potion of his rib cage inline with his sternum. (If you were gauge it off of the boys relatively similar height and the likelihood that Yusuke's hands went forward. His arms were more than likely extended out in front of him parallel to the ground)

This gave him confidence as he brought his head below the line that the shuriken were on track with in a low squat.

With his eyes on Yusuke the entire time, Hiryuu would come back up (into his original gentle fist stance) once the shuriken had passed over which was short due to their speed. All eight shuriken went off into the bridge, all more than likely coming to a halt some considerable distance away. He could see that Yusuke was preparing hand seals just after throwing and Hiryuu immediately began to think on what he would do. Yusuke had water and fire elements. Playing against ninjutsu was going to be one hell of a fight.

Once he had come up into the Gentle Fist stance after dodging Yusuke's shuriken, Hiryuu continued on with his plan. He would keep watching Yusuke. Yusuke discharged a powerful fireball, a technique that Hiryuu was slightly familiar with. The moment he drew breath, Hiryuu prepared himself to move, merely filling his body up with invisible anticipation. Once the first fireball shot out, Hiryuu readied himself. At this moment he could see that Yusuke was going to continue the assault.

Had he been fighting normally Hiryuu would've evaded with ease. But today he had something different planned. Hiryuu quickly moved back about two meters, determing the speed needed by the range and speed of Yusuke's technique. Hiryuu wanted to increase the distance, for whatever reason it seemed obvious that he was trying to play a ranged game. Just in case the fireballs went further than he predicted, he could easily move back more to avoid harm.

Hiryuu was also easily able to tell something was up the moment they started coming. The third one shot was bigger than normal. Coupled with Yusuke's movement while doing this (his hands near his pockets) he gathered that something might be up. This technique did little to hide his body. Yusuke was being shady.

As soon as he stopped, Hiryuu would remove his 'staff' from his lower back above his glutes using his right hand. He extended the staff so that he the tip of it was forward towards Yusuke's abs, specifically a few inches above his belly button. Four feet of it was ahead of him while the last two remaining feet of the weapon would be straddled by his hands. Hiryuu's hands would cover each foot from the bottom, his right hand holding the staff a foot from the butt and left hand a foot in front of the other. His feet were in a similar Gentle Fist stance save for his back right foot which was pointed right and about a foot away from his left foot which was towards Yusuke. His body was twisted so that he was some what perpendicular to Yusuke's, making him a smaller target from a distance. His shoulder however was not completely inline with Yusuke's median, more so his left pectoral was.

Soon, whatever was augmenting that third fireball would be revealed even if it was nothing. Hiryuu had an idea of what it could be. He prepared himself, keeping his eyes open and his hands and feet ready to move attack or defend.

Thing is, removing the staff from his back look very little time. Moving it into position took little time as well. He wasn't just a taijutsu master, he was a weapons user as well. Hiryuu was ready the moment he landed, and it took almost zero time to get into his stance due to the previous position of his feet. By no means was he being slow -this was combat- and as last time he was prepared. His eyes always watching Yusuke, always watching where a potential attack could come from, with Yusuke as a focus.

Unless Yusuke had tricked him with a feint, the only thing augmenting the third fireball at his right had to be either more chakra or some type of weapon. Hiryuu assumed a weapon simply because Yusuke wasn't engaging in close quarters combat. He didn’t seem to be the type to waste chakra on long range attacks. Yusuke's hands (like Hiryuu's) were his best weapon because they were strong and didn't burn chakra.

Once the fireballs would reach their range (and 'scatter' off in a way that wouldn’t harm him), the windmill shuriken would be easily to see and thus easy for Hiryuu to react to. Since this shuriken was aimed to collide with Hiryuu if he jumped to his right a small distance (the width of a volley ball) , it was relatively parallel with the rest of the fireballs except for the second shot.

With two meters to act, Hiryuu would quickly move his staff to the path of the shuriken, knocking the trajectory of the weapon horribly off course by attacking it. He would aim to bring the tip of his staff into one of its spinning blades to knock it off course and out of harms way. Since he had ample distance to react and the range of motion to intercept his shuriken with his staff was very small, this feat wasn't hard. All he had to do was use the range (four feet) of the staff and use his wrists and hands to move the tip of the staff. By ramming it to meet the blade in his attack, he could easily deflect it and push it off course. This attacked used the longest range possible, the closest point to the shuriken, and the smallest movement all in one go.

Since the wire on his shuriken was straight, the moment it collided with his staff it would bunch up, therefore becoming easily visible. (Hiryuu had already noted Yusuke's draw of items previously) The shuriken would lose its path and go wobbling off more further right with no power behind it.

This entire motion didn't cause him to lose sight of Yusuke at all either. Without the Byakugan, Hiryuu still had eyes just like any normal person. He could obviously see Yusuke's hands at play at this range and deal with the shuriken at the same time. The distance between them wasn't that huge.

If Yusuke wanted to continue using the wire after the shuriken ha been dismantled, Hiryuu would of still been able to deal with anything thrown his way. If Yusuke threw the kunai at his legs, he would simply react by side stepping just a meter to his left or something else that would keep him safe from danger. Since his legs were roughly inline with each other, moving a few feet over to his left would be easy. He noted Yusuke shortening the distance and counted how much exactly, hoping for his opponent to approach him first.

PostSubject: Re: Uchiha, Yusuke vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu Uchiha, Yusuke vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu EmptyMon 09 Feb 2015, 2:41 am

Hiryuu's block of his shuriken was easy simply because it was. Not having the Byakugan on didn't mean that he was impaired, it just mean that he wasn't experiencing the world of 50m around him in high detail. By no means was his attack difficult or impossible for any other type of person that used weapons to block. Hiryuu was a weapons user for a reason, he was good at using weapons. His movement, his distance and keeping Yusuke insight also wasn't extremely difficult as seven meters wasn't a huge distance. Hiryuu had the ability to keep everything within his eyesight as the windmill shuriken never passed him.

If Yusuke felt like that weapons attack would work, he'd have to try again. Weapons users weren't easy to take down. They had the ability to deal with things using weapons instead of just chucking ninjutsu at them and hoping their problems would burn away. As Yusuke pulled back on his horribly thrown shuriken with the wire attached, Hiryuu kept watch.

“I'm just trying new things. Nothing wrong with that.”

As Yusuke was pulling back his shuriken Hiryuu took the time to put his staff back collapsing it so it would fit neatly on his back. The two would take the the time to understand that things were getting under way now, and Hiryuu would activate his Byakugan the same moment that they were done putting their items away.

“Yet you've missed every attack you threw, trying to be sneaky with some shuriken and some fire. All Uchiha's are so predictable.”

At this time, Yusuke took off towards the left of the bridge, Hiryuu scanning his entire body at once with the Byakugan. He watched his hand seals and his chakra flare as he prepared for a technique. Hiryuu was done trying to play the waiting game with Yusuke, though he felt a bit upset he didn't get Yusuke to fully commit to running up to him. Yusuke's chakra prepared, and he thought it might be another fire technique, readying himself to dodge. Before he could actually move, Yusuke shouted out the name of his technique. Why?

As soon as he did so, Hiryuu was taken by surprise a bit by the water. With his Byakugan active, he could see the flow of chakra continuously pouring out of his body, unlike the fireball technique he'd seem him use in the past during their missions. His feet wanted to move, but the water was too fast. Once the technique began to cross into almost lethal range (3m) Hiryuu would twist on his legs and perform a technique he had barely used in the tournament.

The rotation.

The spinning dome of chakra would cancel out the affects of the water jutsu, keeping him stable and steady as he would spin to match its power. During his spin, Hiryuu would be able to watch constantly by using his Byakugan which allowed him to see even while rotating. If water stopped, so would Hiryuu, and then the real battle would commence.

Hiryuu stopped his rotation the moment he confirmed that Yusuke's jutsu was done. With his Byakugan he could easily see and act to Yusuke's actions. Coming out of his rotation didn't leave him spinning, he had the bodily control to stop exactly as Yusuke stopped his jutsu with little time in between1.

Since his feet were clear of water and he wasn't moving (yet), he was perfectly free to attack Yusuke has he was on top of the ledge. Quickly thrusting his right palm forward, he aimed for Yusuke who was on the ledge of the bridge less than five meters away, throwing a high powered and extremely fast2 Kuusho at him as he was talking and grinning, bringing his hands together for a seal. Maybe there was a chance that Hiryuu could throw off Yusuke's focus so his moves wouldn't be so coordinated. His Kuusho would be aimed at his center of mass.

If Yusuke didn't dodge his Kuusho, he'd go flying over the edge of the bridge, with enough force to make it impossible for him to grab the ledge, tumbling off into the dried up river. If Yusuke continued with his plan, Hiryuu would be in the position to attack, able to do anything after finishing his Kuusho as his hand would return to his side. By putting Yusuke in jeopardy, he aimed to give himself time to react to anything by occupying his opponent. Yusuke could either dodge by going back towards the round column behind him, or he could go forward into the ledge, or he could come towards Hiryuu. Or he could simply jump. Or maybe he had some other plan of attack. Hiryuu's left arm was still free to quickly grab a shuriken or kunai from his pocket and toss it right at Yusuke. Hiryuu's legs were also in a position to move with his knees slightly bent, as he had more access to speed than Yusuke currently did at this range.

Things would begin to heat up for the duo in the battle soon, and maybe someone might actually get hit. Yusuke was commanding at ninjutsu, but how would he fair against the Hyuuga's techniques?

Hiryuu was free to act during his palm or just after it, or whenever Yusuke did something. By no means was he going to sit around and wait for Yusuke to perform his moves. If Yusuke wanted pressure, Hiryuu was going to deliver it. The moment Yusuke dashed out of the immediate range of the attack, Hiryuu ran at a high but controlled speed putting chakra at his feet1. Since Yusuke's footing more than likely required him to put one foot in front of the other to walk on the ledge, his speed might be compromised as Hiryuu had the full space of the ground underneath him. Therefore, he could easily keep up with Yusuke and control of his body all at the same time. Hiryuu was also running diagonally – that is to say he was moving closer to the ledge of the bridge while he kept up with Yusuke2.

As soon as they started moving, he quickly gripped three shuriken from his pocket with his left hand and lead perfectly on a crash course with his body. These were thrown about exactly a meter into his run left. The first shuriken would aim to intercept Yusuke's left foot as it came down. The second one was aimed towards his mid section, specifically his hip and the last one was aimed directly at his shoulder. If he kept running, he'd definitely run directly into these attacks as they were aimed to cut off to his escape.

Hiryuu's run after this throw was bringing closer towards the ledge and thus Yusuke. With his right hand free (the moment after he threw his palm attack) Hiryuu had the option to attack with a Kuusho again, or just use another weapon. Either way, he was going to run with Yusuke until factors changed. Those factors would be how Yusuke would respond to shuriken he threw in the way of his path or any other movement or lack of that he tried to make.

With Hiryuu constantly moving closer, he was attempting to further agitate Yusuke by forcing him either off the bridge or back on to the ground with him. Though his water jutsu had done well to soak the battle-bridge, it definitely didn't stop him. Hiryuu didn't need anything special at this close range either. He was fully aware of what Yusuke had on his person and what tricks he might use with items from previous use of the Byakugan.

Assuming something 'just because' wasn't what Hiryuu did. His Byakugan (with or without it) was good for seeing the formation of techniques around him, and was definitely good at seeing around, but that didn't imply it as always needed. No, to try completely on a technique was the folly of any jutsu user. No matter how quick or good a technique was, all techniques had a weakness. There was no single jutsu or action that anyone could take that spelled out certain victory. This applied to everyone, including the two on the bridge.

Thing is, as long as Hiryuu was focused on Yusuke, he had the chance to warn himself of any incoming techniques from Yusuke. Therefore, the moment he did his hand seal and brought his hands together, Hiryuu's shuriken still went through. In his surprise however he failed to lead them. Since Yusuke didn't do anything suspicious with his hand seal (as in breathing fire or shooting a water hose out of his mouth) Hiryuu slowed his speed increasingly,

His Byakugan fired up in response, and he saw water and chakra pooling at his feet. Being a taijutsu user, his footing was exemplary but not in this situation. The arm that went up to attack his feet was in the way of everything, curse Yusuke's impeccable timing (Sharingay). Hiryuu stepped up on the water and balanced himself, tipping forward.

He came up an entire meter off the ground. During this time, he was close enough to Yusuke to make an considerable attack. Another palm right to Yusuke's center of mass. Being less than three meters away and on the ledge of the bridge would make the attack considerably hard to avoid as all it require was a palm thrust.

In thrusting he completely sacrificed his footing for the attack to push Yusuke off the ledge. Before he could completely lose his footing he would rotate, saving himself from the clone gripping him
