Appearance: Hotaru is a 25 year old male that appears to come from Japanese descent. He stands in at 5'8 and weighs around 145-155. Hotaru has mid shoulder length silver hair and dark green eyes that resemble marbles. He is normally dressed in a long black jacket that stretches to his knees, black shinobi styled pants, and grey boots. Often times he will wear a poncho like coat over his attire that is grey in color and has a high collar around his neck.

Combat Style: Hotaru is the type of person that tests the waters before jumping in. He often times lines up weaker attacks to see how the enemy deals with them and then follows with a more powerful or better thought out technique. Hotaru is also the type of fighter who does not reveal all of his cards the first time he gets. By this, I mean that Hotaru try to not let the enemy know everything he is capable of and like to keep trump cards at his ready. Some of these trumps cards include paper clones and allowing the enemy to think they have struck him when he will actually recreate himself with paper.

Description: A rare characteristic that one develops which allows them to understand and communicate with animals. Verbal exchange is common amongst those with this ability as the user will literally alter their voice to mimic the animal their speaking to as a way of communicating. More advanced people are even capable of feeling the emotions and pain of animals as well, although that requires physical contact. Animal Speaking is a very useful skill because they can manipulate animals to accomplish tasks, such as acting as scouts or gathering information they have already witnessed. Animals that serve as familiars to specific clans or people such as Kakichu Bugs, Inuzuaka dogs or summons, cannot be controlled due to their loyalty to their owners.
THE BACKGROUND.
History:
|Birth|
Hotaru Nero was born in a small village that really had no spot on the world map. The village people were simple folk though and prefered that they were not a big a city put on the world map. This usually helped them stay out of conflicts with foreign villages and were often forgotten about, until Hotaru was born. When Hotaru was born, word spreads like wild fire of Hotaru having an unusual chakra signature that he gave off. Not to mention the chakra signature was somewhat apparent to sensors even at such a young age. This word came to a neighboring village that unlike Hotaru's village wanted to be put on the map by power. So, the neighboring village arranged to destruction of Hotaru's village and to kidnap Hotaru, their goal to raise him into a powerful shinobi for the village.
When the attack began, the village was quickly swallowed by crimson flames and puddles of blood. During the invasion, the invaders asked villagers where the boy was, this came back to Hotaru's family and they arranged for a village elder to flee with Hotaru out of the village while his parents would hold off the invaders as long as possible.
The village elder would make it fairly far with new born Hotaru, although the elder would soon collapse from exhaustion. Shortly after, a young man who ran an orphanage on the outskirts of Sunagakure would find the deceased elder and barely alive Hotaru. He would bury the elder and take the new born Hotaru to the orphanage. It's rumored that only a few people survived the destruction of his family's small village.
|Childhood|
Hotaru's childhood was spent in the orphanage that he was brought to after the destruction of his village. Although, this orphanage was the only home he knew because he was far too young to recall the destruction of his village. As his time in the orphanage carried on, he was never put up for adoption. Instead, the man and woman who ran the orphanage claimed Hotaru as their own child. These two's names are; Kai and Namine Nero.
As Hotaru grew older, he realized that Kai and Namine were not his real parents, although he thought of them as so. He often times questioned who his real parents were and would ask his adopted parents, although they had no idea either. When he reached the age of 8 they told Hotaru about him being found with the elderly. This rose a lot of questions for Hotaru, but none of them that could be answered or probably every would be.
Not only did Hotaru find out about his past a bit as he grew up, but he also began to tap into the powers that the invaders of his past wanted to take for their own. Hotaru began to realize around the age of 8 that he was capable of manipulating paper without touching it. This was discovered his adopted mother. His mother was filling out paper work and dropped a couple sheets, in reaction Hotaru manipulated the papers into floating to his mothers hands. His mother was extremely shocked and brought it to his fathers attention. His father and mother later agree'd that perhaps they should get Hotaru a trainer to help him tap into his abilities more.
|Pre-teen / Teenage|
At the age of 10, Hotaru's adopted parents hired a shinobi trainer from Sunagakure to come to the orphanage a few times a week and train Hotaru. When Hotaru showed the trainer how he could manipulate paper, the trained was very shocked. Almost as if he couldn't believe it. The trainer spoke to his parents one on one and explained that Hotaru possessed an extremely rare kekkei genkai that allows him to manipulate paper with his chakra to endless possibilities. The parents and trainer informed Hotaru shortly after. Hotaru wasn't sure how to feel about it though. The thought crossed his mind that perhaps this kekkei genkai was the reason his adopted father found him with a deceased elderly. His new sensei/trainer named Onami would pursuade Hotaru to not neglect his abilities and instead train with them and perfect it. Hotaru would spend the next few years until the age of 17 perfecting his ability and becoming extremely advanced at it. Onami even claimed that Hotaru is an extremely rare condition of his kekkei genkai, almost as if he was a prodigy.
As Hotaru grew though, he began to question what his use would be after learning all there was to learn from his sensei. Would he become a shinobi or simply live a simple life? He overall wanted to use his power to protect his mother and father that ran the orphanage.
|Late Teenage|
When Hotaru reached the age of 17, he became extremely advanced in combat and could even take down his trainer/sensei in a full out sparring session. His sensei suggested that Hotaru should join the shinobi forces of Sunagakure, Hotaru shortly after turned down his sensei though. Which appeared to put a bad taste in his mouth, but his sensei agree'd that it was ultimately up to Hotaru. Or so he said.
Hotaru continued to train with his sensei until the age of 18, when his sensei didn't show up for training one day. This was very unlike his sensei and he felt uneasy about it. When Hotaru left the small training area where he would normally meet his sensie, he would head back home to find a cloud of smoke in the air off in the distance where the orphanage was. This caused Hotaru to charge in the direction with complete fear that a fire had started. When he arrived though, the fire was not an accidental fire by his parents. Instead, it appeared to be multiple shinobi dressed in body armor and mask, as if they were waiting for Hotaru.
Hotaru would glance around and count the number of shinobi. He counted seven, this was a squad with a mission no doubt. After counting, another shinobi emerged from the fire who seemed to be leader type in the squad. behind him followed two other shinobi. One carrying his mother and the other his father. Both of them appearing very injured. The leader type man stood about 15 feet away from Hotaru and ordered for the parents to be knelled down with a knife at their necks. The leader then began to speak;
"Well, Hotaru isn't it?" The leader claimed.
"Just take what you want and leave!" Hotaru pleaded, watching his parents very closely.
"What if what I want is you?" The man asked. This shocked Hoatru. "Why me?" He thought to himself. His father then interrupted his thoughts by screaming for Hotaru to run, this then followed with one of the shinobi knocking out his father for being too loud. Hotaru's anger grew, "Don't fucking touch them!" Hotaru yelled at the leader. The leader would reply with a small laugh.
"Hahaha, let's make a deal then. You come with us and we will leave this place and your family."
Hotaru would clench his fist and look at his mother who had tears running down her face and shook her head at Hotaru. As if saying not to listen to them.
Hotaru would stare at the leader type man as he waited for a reply. "Why do you want me?" He asked.
"We hear you're far too powerful to be wasted here." The leader claimed.
Hotaru then realized that in order for the men to know when to attack the orphanage, they would have to have some type of connection with his sensei that would know Hotaru would've been gone. Hotaru then pieced together that these were Sungakure shinobi. They wanted Hotaru to join them so badly that his sensei would betray Hotaru and his family. Anger ran deep within Hotaru.
Within the blink of an eye, two sheets of paper fire from Hotaru's body towards the two shinobi holding his parents, killing them before they had time to react. "Stay down, mom!" Hotaru yelled as his entire body transformed into thousands of sheets of paper. The paper crowded the area and began to wrap around each of the targets suffocating them. Killing each of them easily. Hotaru's father waking up moments later.
Hotaru would recollect and stand near his parents when the enemies were killed. "We have get out of here, Sunagakure wants us dead." Hotaru claimed. Since the orphanage was burnt down, They just began to flee without collecting anything. If they could make it pass the border, they could find safety. Hotaru's father and mother both spoke to Hotaru about why this happened. Hotaru explained how he denied the villages offer and that their sensei had turned on them. Hotaru had a feeling though that his sensei might be pursuing them now.
After traveling for a few hours in the desert, a rain of shuriken stopped Hotaru and his parents in their tracks. Although, it seemed like they weren't aimed to strike Hotaru or his parents. When they looked in the direction the shuriken came from, his sensei was seen. Just as Hotaru expected.
"Traitor." Hotaru said to his sensei. His mother then followed with a "We trusted you!"
His sensei would chuckle slightly and claim that if Hotaru just joined none of this would have ever happened. Hotaru would ready himself to protect himself and his parents, although just as he readied himself two shinobi emerged from the sound beneath his parents and impaled both of them. Killing both of them before they had time to speak. The sand becoming tinted with their blood.
Hotaru's initial shock was shorty overcome with hatred as a two large wings of paper emerged from Hotaru's back and impaled both of the shinobi. Hotaru then charged at his sensei in flight while creating a spear of paper to impale his sensei with, although his sensei quickly dodged it and attempted to cut down one of his wings with a blade. When he attempted to do so, the wings hardened and blade stopped in its tracks. Because of his opening by catching his sensei off guard, Hotaru quickly impaled his sensei in his chest with a paper spear. Hotaru looked into the eyes of his sensei one more time with just anger. "Your death will lead to the death of many more." Hotaru whispered to his sensei before he fell dead.
Hotaru would wrap his deceased parents in paper and travel with them to a forest in the Land of Fire. This is where he would bury his parents and pronounced himself as a wandered and did not claim allegiance to any village. Hotaru believed that all the villages were corrupted and must be brought down.
|Currently|
Hotaru is now twenty-five years old and wanders the world with no set home. He has developed a strong and powerful hate towards major villages, believing they are all corrupted. Because of this, Hotaru is currently attempting to arrange a team by traveling from land to land and then put into motion the destruction of the major villages.

The sky bathed in a dark blue that almost crossed the border into black consumed the above with the only breaks of light being the moon and stars. While, below the field of grass seemed just as endless as the night sky. Mirroring each other.
Hotaru would take steps through the calf high green grass that swayed with the breeze, making a journey to some village. Dressed in a thigh length grey poncho with a high collar, black shinobi pants, and grey boots. While he traveled though, he felt as though he was being followed. He senses small changes in the way the grass around him moved. Hotaru continued to journey though even with this unsettling feeling, until Hotaru found himself near a creek that fed into a nearby pond. He would stand and look out at the pond just as he did so though, two shinobi from a few feet back dashed out of the grass, appearing as dark shadows that charged towards Hotaru from behind. Each of them wielding a blade. The shinobi quickly impaled Hotaru from behind, piercing the blades directly through his stomach. "Got you." A male's voice claimed after piercing him.
Just as he said this though, paper began to flutter in the area as Hotaru's entire body began to separate into hundreds of sheets of paper. The two shinobi would quickly ready their blades and jump back a few feet. "So, it's true. You are the paper shinobi." One of the two shinobi claimed.
Hotaru would reform in the spot he was stabbed at but with no injuries, he must've activated his paper body technique just in time.
"You've heard of me?" Hotaru questioned, although many people have been hired to kill Hotaru after he denies fighting for them. So this was of no shock. Hotaru's body that still resembled him, but as if he was constructed of paper made eye contact with one of the men. Just as he did so, five paper shuriken began to form and fired at the two. The two deflected the shuriken but just as they did, a large spear of paper rammed through the body of one man, spraying his blood across the grass. The man screamed in pain, although the screams shortly turned into the silence of death.
The surviving shinobi would look over at Hotaru in fear, covered in the blood of his team mate. "Demon!" The man screamed at Hotaru.
"What a pity. Fearing what you don't understand." Hotaru said to himself as another large spear composed of paper began to form to the right of Hotaru, floating beside him. The man new this one was for him and he began to flee, leaving his fallen comrade's corpse behind. Just as the man turned his back though, Hotaru took aim to fire the spear at him. Just as it was about to launch though, Hotaru dispersed the paper and let the man flee.
Hotaru thought that perhaps he will tell whoever hired them and the boss would stop sending shinobi after him. He then turned his path towards where he was heading and continued to walk in that direction.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. This is one of the most fundamental ninjutsu of the Shikigami clan, as well as all of the paper users. This jutsu does not require hand seals in order to activate, and instead uses the hand's movements, in most cases, to conduct movement and control. This jutsu is simply the ability to move the paper of the Shikigami clan. The paper will move freely, and without the need to be constantly moving. This jutsu works by covering the paper in a tiny sheen of chakra and manipulating that chakra to move, taking the paper with it. Because of this layer of chakra, the paper is much more water resistant, more dense than normal paper, and very sharp around the edges. This paper moves at different levels of speed, depending on the user's rank. At genin rank, this paper moves at the pace of five meters per second; at chuunin level, this paper moves at eight meters per second; at jounin level, this paper moves at twelve meters per second; at kage/sannin rank, this paper moves at thirteen meters per second. Because this jutsu requires a constant output of chakra in order to maintain this jutsu, every post that this jutsu is used, it will require an upkeep of chakra to be pulled from the user's chakra tank; this chakra is taken at different levels depending on the rank of the user, and thus the amount of paper that he or she would be manipulating.

Once this jutsu is activated, the paper's back will become inscribed with a small seal that converts it into a paper bomb; this paper bomb can be detonated, instantly, upon the user's command. What is more, the papers that are inscribed turn themselves outward from the target's sight so as to hide the transformation.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. In order to activate this jutsu, the user must remain completely still. The user will place both palms of their hands over both eyes. After a five second pause, a small swarm of ten butterflies will flutter from in between the user's fingers. These butterflies, while this jutsu is active, act as the user's eyes. These butterflies can extend the range of normal Shikigami clan jutsu, and travel up to one hundred meters from the user; or more if ranges allow it. While this jutsu is active, the user must remain still with his or her hands over their eyes. What is more, the user cannot conjure any other jutsu while this jutsu is active. These butterflies are able to carry out basic, black and white vision; the butterflies are unable to see raw chakra, or anything like that, and longer ranged vision becomes blurry (allowing them to effectively see with the same ability of your average, healthy human). Should the jutsu be interrupted, the butterflies will fall "dead" and the user will return to him/herself, as opposed to the trance like state that they are put in while this jutsu is active.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. The user will cause thirty sheets of paper to form a single clone of themselves. This clone looks identical to the user, and is a solid clone, able to interact with the environment. This clone shares all of the same combat abilities as the user of this jutsu. What is more, because the clone is created from nothing but paper, and thus lighter then normal humans, it is able to move at speeds that exceed the user's by 10%. What is more, this clone is able to take a substantial amount of damage before dispersing back into its natural, paper state; it has more endurance than the normal Shadow Clones and doesn't disappear when hit by the enemies' non fatal attacks. A naturally fatal attack, obviously, will destroy this clone. This clone is unable to use jutsu. This clone can be created with the use of explosive seals in order to make it more lethal; number of explosive seals added into this clone is decided by the user upon the clone's creation.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. Also known as the immortal clone, this paper clone is one of the more popular jutsu from within the Shikigami clan. The user will cause thirty pieces of paper to form into a paper clone that looks identical to the user. This paper clone is able to interact with the environment, as well as shares the same skill sets as the user upon creation. This clone moves 20% faster than the user, due to being much lighter then most humans and being powered by a large amount of chakra. This clone is able to use jutsu, so long as the chakra comes straight from the user's chakra reserves. Lastly, for 6 chakra, the clone can burst into a volley of paper, and then reform, making it harder to deal damage to the clone by melee and purely physical means; thus the name given to it. This paper is very easily damaged, and should a majority of the paper be damaged, then the clone will fail to reform. The breaking apart and reformation process can happen rapidly. Should the clone take a fatal hit, it will disperse, however less substantial hits will not cause the clone to be destroyed.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. This jutsu does not require the use of hand seals in order to activate. This jutsu uses the Shikigami's genetics in order to procure a jutsu. Because a Shikigami clan member is, essentially, made up of paper and lesser parts, the user can cause their body to disperse, breaking down into paper for a short amount of time before needing to return. Depending on the rank at which this jutsu is used, the user can cause different amounts of their body to break down into paper. Something to also note is that the paper produced from breaking down one's body is not effected by any steel like resistance, and is, more or less normal paper. As such, this jutsu can be risky and dangerous. For 8 chakra, the user can break only as much as a single arm, leg, or small chunk of their body apart into paper (such as a segment of about two feet of their body, such as two square feet of their torso, etc) for a short amount of time before returning to their normal form; this includes the head, however the risks for this will be explained. For 13 chakra, the user can break as much as two arms, legs, or a chunk of their body of up to four feet apart for a small amount of time before returning. This can, also, mean the head of the user, which comes with risks. For 23 chakra, the user can break any amount of their body into paper, and reform it in the same way - including their entire body if they want. 4 chakra has to be paid for each post that the user remains split, making it dangerous to remain split apart for too long. There are also more risks to this jutsu: should any part of the body be broken into paper, and that paper destroyed, then the user will be unable to reform their body in completion, and will thus have to end the jutsu with the body part missing, which can be extremely dangerous; if there is more paper that the user can use, they are able to use that as a permanent substitute, and this only applies of the paper generated from the user's body is the only paper available. If this is the case, and they are reformed without parts of their body, it will appear as though they are still built of paper in those areas, and no blood will show. When the head of the user is broken apart, they are still able to act with full consciousness, seemingly able to see from the paper that they have formed. When the entire body is broken apart into paper, the user can see from the paper's point of view, making them able to see, and not condemning them to being blind. The reformation process takes less than a second in order to complete, provided the paper is close to the reforming individual; if not then the user must also wait for the paper to arrive back to one location in order to reform.

Description: This is one of the Shikigami jutsu that was developed and advanced through the ages in order to come up with this final product. The user will cause wings of paper to extend from their back, using up to two hundred sheets of paper, and allowing the wings to expand up to two peters on each side of the user's body. Once the wings are completed, the user can fly above the ground at heights of up to eighty meters. What is more, the user can fly at speeds of up to twenty meters per second. This jutsu requires chakra to maintain flight each post; this chakra is drained at the end of the post. This bird can hold up to three hundred pounds and still be able to fly at maximum speed; for every ten pounds over this weight limit that the passengers exceed, the bird's speed slows by two meters per second. This bird cannot hold over four hundred pounds and lift off ground.

| Since everything but the Face Claim area has pretty much been filled out, I wanted to ask if this is good to go now. If this is still a real WIP and you're actively working on this app, forget I asked, but I just wanted to point out that if this is done, you need to take the WIP out of the title so we know this can be checked.
Also, who gave you permission for an A ranked character/Jounin and to be a Wanderer? |

| Since you didn't get approval for anything beyond Shikigami, you'll have to start with a C-rank/Genin character and choose either Konoha or Kumo. This won't bar you from becoming a wanderer completely - you'll just have to work for it.
