Forum Redesign?

Ello All.

Dan again. Just checking in to see if you guys would like the potential of a forum redesign. This involves the plausibility of the Banner, the forum favicon, the side bar, the forum layout and the color scheme and everything. So yeah, I don't want to be the first to accidentally spill the beans on anything upcoming ... ~~*COUGH*ADMINS ARE NEARING COMPLETION FOR THE CHUUNIN EXAMS*COUGH*~~ but yeah, i won't do anything on the sorts. But who knows, it may come in nicely.

I would definitely appreciate that. The forum looks kinda bland now, as all do when they age. But, I feel this forum needs more color.

The current one is really professional, matches and projects a nice ninja feel. As amazingly awesome as we are at this Dan, I really don't think we could do better.

Which is why I plan to vote trial man. But Johnathon, I do have but one thing up my sleeve and it may take a lot of time to produce. But if it turns out as I plan, it will look amazing..

BAM! Reopened. So, I'm doing quite a bit of research on forum designing and for effective design. This in turn requires me to practice until I can master and perfect a new skin for the forum.

In the meantime, I would love to hear your suggestions for: 1) the possibility of the colour-scheme, or 2) which skin is good and you like and want to see - ill be willing to preview it and if i love it, you can bet it'll be up. So if you've seen a good skin, or reckon a bit of colour here and there would look effective; bloody oath tell me.

If not, then my attempt to design it will ensue, but after some time. (: Thanks kiddies.

Some people will like the old skin, but then some don't, there should be a feature for optionally switching between the two no?

If yes then I know a guy that might know a code for such

Mhmm. Do some more research for me please man. I know it's possible, I doubt that it's possible with Forumotion.

I'll try, but I can't gaurantee, if you go to Forumotion, they might help, that's a big if, and probably a no... But I can ask the guy, which I will, when he gets active, and it may be applicable through the CSS which Forumotion has, but it's a if...

It's been two days, and those two days the guy was logged on, he's not answering, I'm assuming it's a no...

Sorry, I'll try to dig up something and try to find out stuff and what - not.

If we move to Zetaboards, we lose functionality and members, Zetaboards has more features, but also drops some, and is slightly more confusing but not much. Plus some members don't like Zetaboards, a lot of things need pass confirmation or staff approval unless coded such.

Well, I'm pretty sure that moving is out of the question until/if we make a third US, which even if we do isn't going to happen for a long time.

I've already tried to do this on a forumotion forum by editing the template codes, and I didn't have any luck. It's way too complex.

Layout is basically completed, just awaiting for a new Banner and i'll happily update it. Should be up by the time the Character-close off date is finished.
