[Mission] Card Tricks [Part One - Departure]

“A C-rank mission, huh?” The genin said to himself, reading over the scroll one last time before he made his leave. All he had to do was find an elder shinobi's daughter and ask her how her father was conned years back. Pretty simple sounding. However, she is known to respond violently when asked questions about her father and his tricks. Maybe it was a small challenge, somewhat worthy to be called a C-rank. But Ichi was not known to judge anything - especially a mission - this early on. He would have to wait to see what was in store when he found this wondering kunoichi. What he needed to decide is how to get her to talk. He wasn't one to hurt anybody that much, but this a female. Being the ‘sweet’ type of person, he didn't want to harm her. As much as he was against it, it was part of his mission. And he was going to succeed in the missions completion, hurting the kunoichi or not. It all depended on her reaction. And the genin had a feeling it was going to be a hostile one based on the mission description. With a small sigh, Ichi closed up the scroll and put it in his back pocket. It was about time to head out, and his first task to actually find this girl. Not really the type of excitement he was looking for, but a mission's a mission. “Guess I better go.” He mumbled, and slowly advanced forward to exit the village and complete his mission. There was no hurry, and despite his excitement he appeared calm - just like a shinobi should be. This was his fist mission as a Kirigakure shinobi, and he wasn't going to disappoint the Mizukage. Failure was not an option.

The girl he was looking for was hiding in the forest of fog, and he was luckily able to find her. He was able to get the information he was sent out to get, so the mission was a success. Now his final task was to tell the elder how he was conned, then report back to the mission center. His knuckled tapped against the door of a house, and an older shinobi answered it - the same one that had been conned. The genin bowed at the presence of an elder, and spoke, “I was able to find out how you were conned, thanks to the help of your daughter.” He reported, and the elder smiled. “Care to tell me?” His voice was raspy, either due to a sore throat or other causes. Ichi nodded, “You see, while you were playing a card game with the natural resident of this village, he was hiding cards up his sleeve. In other words, he was cheating.” The aged shinobi looked puzzled, “Are you sure?” That was a good question. He was just going off on the details that were given to him by the elders daughter. “Positive.” He answered, then the door closed peacefully in his face. Their meeting was over, now all he had to do was report it's success. His first C-ranked mission as a shinobi, a genin, was successful. But there was no doubt from the start.
