Nara, Ikaku.

Personal Information.

Name: Nara, Ikaku
Nickname: -
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Unlike most Nara Clan members, Ikaku is very different appearance wise. His hair is pale, very pale white, which stands out a lot, due to the fact that his attire mostly consists of black. Unlike most people, Ikaku does not hide his ears with his hair, and he does have a lot of hair. He also has pale white eyes, which also makes him different from most people. His fighting and travelling attire consists of a white buttoned shirt, a black pair of pants and his forehead protector tied around his right thigh. He also, on occasions, wears his favorite necklace, which is made of platinum and is deemed very heavy. This necklace is a design of the Nara Clan symbol; this is why he does not wear it when exiting the village.

On his feet, he wears long boots that occupy most of his leg, up to his knees. These legs are composed of white and black rectangles. The sole of the shoe is completely white. Beneath his pants and on his chest and back he wears a very thing sheet of metal, which can repel most kunai, shuriken, needles and other common weapons. His weapon holster is located in a rather strange area of his body, which is very uncommon for most ninjas, but not unheard of. He has created one out of thin leather and he keeps it strapped on his left shoulder. Ikaku also wears long black gloves that occupy half of his arm, up until his elbows. Over his long white buttoned shirt, he wears a large toga-like jacket, that does not have button, but it has belts. Last but not least, he carries a large think katana, which he barely uses, but has a certain skill with it.

His casual walking around clothes consists of a simple white t-shirt or a buttoned shirt and a pair of normal blue jeans. Normally, the buttoned shirt has a large Nara Clan symbol on the back, while most of his jeans have several slices, for example, on the knees and shin area, due to old kunai and shuriken cuts. When in the village, he still appreciates using his forehead protector wrapped around his right thigh and he usually still carries his weapon holster strapped around his shoulder area. If the weather is cold, he usually opts for using a black, leather jacket. While in the village, he still wears his metal sheets, though they are hardly noticeable. He does not normally carry his large katana around, though he does at night, due to the fact that he lives near the poverty stricken part of Konoha.

He is also surrounded by various types of scars, which he obtained while trying to practice his kunai and shuriken skills. He also has very unscarred injuries, due to the fact that he used to cut himself on purpose just for the simple fact of practicing his medical ninjutsu when he was a child, and would often end passing out due to his lack of chakra control.

Personality:

Ikaku is a very complex person when it comes to describing him. His personality is deeply affected by the early death of his parents, and him growing up practically alone his entire life. On one hand, he is a genuine slacker, like most of the men in his clan. He does not like to work, he does not like to go on mission, unless he absolutely has to and he likes to stay indoors and think about life. Though, when duty calls, he is very determined and loyal. He is one of the smartest persons in his clan, despite his young age. He spends most of his time developing tactics for combat, or simply studying medicinal ninjutsu. This is what most people claim to be his calm side. He is not a very proud member of the Nara Clan, due to the fact that he despises most of them for not taking care of him when his parents died.

On the other hand, he can be one of the most anti social persons one ever meets, not because he hates people, just for the simple fact that he has grown up alone for most of his life and has never felt the need to receive help. He usually likes to go solo in missions, yet at his low rank he is practically obligated to go on team missions. Like said before, not because of his hatred towards mankind, just for the simple fact that he likes being alone. However, he does have a social side. On occasions, when he is not on missions, he enjoys going out with friends to explore the village, and if permitted, leave the village for a temporary time, simply to explore.

Over the years, Inaku has developed a love for medical ninjutsu. As antisocial as he may be at times, he never, ever tolerates someone being in pain. He himself is rather sensible to pain and has grown a phobia towards it. He likes to experiment with different kinds of drugs, either prescription or herbal. He is practically a medicinal genius for his age, and knows everything there is to know about medicines and the human body.

Also, he has grown an addiction on drugs, due to his constant experimentation with them, to be most specific, morphine and cocaine, which in the village would be considered unspeakable, and if someone were to find he has an addiction with such a young age, he would most likely get kicked out. When under the influence, he is concentrated on the objective, he does not feel pain most of the time and he never gets distracted, this is why he is deemed one of the best Gennin the village has.

When in combat, he is swift and efficient. He is normally drugged when in combat; this is why his tolerance to pain increases and his concentration to his objective is quite enhanced. He, unlike other drug addicts, thinks best when drugged, due to the fact that he has grown kind of a tolerance. He likes to fight one on one, and does not like fighting in teams for fear of being discovered. All in all, he is very calm and most of the time knows what he is doing when it comes to tactics, medicine and combat with his secret clan jutsus.

Background Information.

History:

Life was good when Ikaku was born, no wars and no political crisis whatsoever, everything was normal. He, unlike other young ninja, began to learn the ways of the ninja at the small age of four, following guidance from his parents. He was born in the well known village of Konohagakure no Sato, and he was born as a Nara Clan member, though he was one of the youngest at the time. All was well, until one night, his parents suddenly disappeared, without saying a single word to them, which seemed awfully curious, due to the fact that he was only eight at the time. After consulting the heir of the Nara clan, he was told by him that they were sent on a very dangerous and top secret mission to explore a neighboring country. He was awestruck, he always thought of his parents as one of the most pacific people there was, his father rather lazy and his mother very, very stern. Weeks passed, now Ikaku had begun to go to the Academy, to advance at learning basic academic jutsus and so on. He was not pleased; he wanted his father to see him graduate, what with him being a respected shinobi in the nations and all.

Months now passed, and yet he had not heard a thing from his parents, this was starting to get weird. He was very optimistic though, he knew something could have happened to them, but he tried not to think about that. One day, after 6 months had past, he confronted his Clan Leader and he was finally told the truth. His parents had never been sent to spy or infiltrate a nearby village, they had been sent to spy and kill a dangerous S Ranked Missing Ninja who had exiled from Konoha. Ikaku was devastated, his clan leader had lied to him and his parents were now deceased, killed in action, to be correct. Ikaku had, by now, left the complex where the Nara Clan resided, and moved to the other side of the village, which was very dangerous and poverty stricken. He felt his own clan members betrayed him, and he felt not wanted, due to the fact that no one had ever taken care of him, even when they knew their parents were headed for demise. By now, he despised most of the members of his clan, and achieved to learn the secret jutsus by himself, thanks to an old scroll his father had left him.

His personality had now changed, he was not as open as before, he mostly stayed home studying up on Nara Techniques or practicing his Medical Ninjutsu. He was still sociable, and he made many friends once he graduated from the academy. At the age of 15, Ikaku began to develop some sort of drug addiction because, not only was he an expert with the human body and medicine for his age, but he experimented on himself, because he believes in not harming others for one’s own achievements. He is always hiding his addiction, though it has taken up part of his life and most of the time cannot stop. All in all, he has mostly perfected his techniques and has grown an addiction, which would affect his personality.

Roleplay Sample:

Clunk, Clunk, Clunk

That was the sound heard in Training Ground 57. There stood Kan Konbatto, panting slightly as the tree before him was rooted to the spot, though slightly damaged due to the fact that Kan had a kunai on his hand. He kicked the tree with the bottom of his right foot as bits of the tree’s crust flew off. He then backed up a few yards and ran straight at the tree. He attempted jump, hitting the tree with the bottom of both of his feet and pushed at the tree, thus trying to back flip. Something had gone wrong though, he had not gotten enough momentum for the jump, thus falling down, landing on his back, failing epically.

He slowly began to get up, rubbing his back, the fall had really hurt. He was not going to give up though; he would keep trying until he achieved the goal of making a successful back flip. He rubbed the back of his head with his left hand and then backed up some more to attempt the jump. He took a large deep breath, trying to clear his mind of all thought. You can do this… You can do this, he kept repeating to himself.

Without thinking twice about getting an injury or breaking a bone, he launched himself at full throttle towards the damaged and cut up tree. He made another attempt to jump and as soon as his two feet touched the tree, he walked up two steps before pushing himself towards the tree and then pulling himself back, and spinning, finally landing on his two feet.

“Yes!” He said panting slightly, as he bent down and looked at the grass, his hands gripping on to his knees, as he attempted to catch his breath and sweat fell upon the grassy forest floor. The kunai he had been using lied on the floor, a few meters away from his current position. He slowly began to walk towards the place where the kunai was laying. He bent down and reached for the kunai with his right hand, grabbing it and picking it up. He placed the kunai between his middle finger and ring finger, motioned his arm backwards and flung the kunai as hard as he could towards the tree. The kunai made a loud clunk and remained stuck to the tree as little chunks of the crust fell out.

He would now attempt something he had never attempted and would most likely fail. He would try to walk up a tree, he basically KNEW the theory, but he had never actually performed the practical part. He would most likely fail on his first attempt, but if he knew the theory than it wouldn’t be too hard. Kan stood a few meters away from the tree, he closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind as the chakra surged through him. He would need to completely concentrate and tried to mold his chakra at the bottom of his feet.

“It should be easy… It’s like a Basic Academy Jutsu, except he would need to concentrate his chakra somewhere elsewhere…” He said to himself. He began to try this. The chakra began to mold at the bottom of his heels, slowly. He opened his eyes, he was ready. He ran at full throttle towards the same tree he had run at before to perform the back flip. He then jumped at the tree and began the same procedure, though this time, he was not running two steps, he was running more than that! Kan continued his struggle and after about ten steps, he slashed the place he had just been at with his kunai and back flipped off the tree, landing on the ground.

“I see what the problem was.. I concentrated little to no chakra in the running part, I guess all I need is to concentrate a bit more chakra, then it SHOULD be perfect…” Kan thought as he backed up towards the same distance he had ran from before. He closed his eyes, concentrating even more chakra towards the bottom of his feet. Kan looked up determined at the same tree. He elevated his head and saw the kunai mark he had left there before… It was not so far from the forest floor…

Kan heaved a great sigh as the chakra surged through him and down to the bottom of his feet. He was ready. Kan backed up a few feet and ran once again at full throttle towards the same tree, though this time, it had all gone wrong, he had used WAY too much chakra, and the drain was noticed by Kan as soon as he had expelled it all. The chakra was so much that when Kan jumped and began the attempt of running upwards, his foot went through the tree, reaching at all the way to the middle and leaving it with a crater like appearance. He quickly pulled his foot out of the crater with a huge effort and fell backwards. He made a small thud as he hit the floor.

”Too much chakra… That was really a bad idea…” Kan said as he rubbed his ankle, motioning himself to a sitting position. He was panting heavily he had really taken a blow to the ankle and he thought that the ankle would most likely be broken. He however, would try it once more, no matter how bad the pain was, he would not give up, not yet. He stood up once more and backed up to the place where he had once run from. He closed his eyes, yet again, thinking and thinking. The first time he had tried to pull this off, he had concentrated too little chakra, with this he had only resulted in achieving only ten steps, which was only about one or two meters high, this was not his best since he used little chakra, and on his second attempt, he had used WAY too much chakra, and he certainly still fell the drain, so now what he needed to do was use intermediate chakra, concentrate about twenty five percent more than the chakra he had first used in the first place, this would need some hard concentration. He stood rooted to the spot, eyes closed and concentrating his chakra onto the palms of his feet, he could feel the circulation of his chakra points all directing his chakra to the bottom of his feet. He was ready, he knew it. Just in case, he backed up a little more, getting more distance between himself and the tree.

As he moved, his ankle cracked, thus making Kan give out a little yelp of pain. It was almost definite, his ankle was broken, but the chakra was already concentrated, if he could, he would get it mended and absorb the chakra back, but absorbing the chakra back was pretty much impossible, for all he knew. It was now or never. He ran at full throttle, basically yelling in pain as he ran because his ankle cracked and cracked. He jumped at the tree and began to run as fast as he could. He was actually doing it! He was actually walking on a tree. As his momentum died down, he was still standing on the tree. It was a very weird sensation, he was standing sideways and he was looking straight up, looking at the skies and at the puffy white clouds. He then slowly turned around and looked at the grown, it seemed like he was miles away from the grassy floor, and it was yet, another weird sensation. He began to feel drowsy and exhausted all of the sudden.

“Shit…” Kan said to himself, he had forgotten that he was almost completely out of chakra. He looked down, he was too far away from the ground to try to run back to the surface, he was going to faint, there was no doubt in his mind that he was going to faint. Kan’s sight was beginning to get even blurrier. He had to run back to the surface. Kan knew that he would never make it in time but if he fell from the height that he was currently in he would most likely day. Kan never tried to run faster in his life, and after all, his life depended on getting to the bottom in time.

He was throttling at full speed, he was still meters and meters above the ground, would his life end here? No… It couldn’t end here… He still had a lot to accomplish in life. Thoughts like this filled his mind as his eyes slowly began to shut down and his ankle cracked and made Kan yelp once again in pain. He felt the wind whistle in his ears while he fell at full speeds, his arms first. Suddenly, a large thud and his lights were out. Suddenly, he saw a small light that seemed miles away from him. What was happening? Was the myth about seeing a light when someone was about to die true? The light remained in the same spot, and there, from out of nowhere, Kan appeared, looking startled and confused.

He looked virtually perfect, all the bruises and cuts he had obtained in the Training were gone, his robes which had been broken and stained with blood were perfectly clean and warm, now he was even MORE confused. He looked around, he was in the middle of a very large field, filled with all kinds of crops, trees and vegetable patches.

“That’s weird.. This looks nothing like the training ground… If anything, this looked like heaven…” Kan said to himself, as he began to walk towards the light, which was rapidily getting closer to him. But as it got closer, it began to take the form of a human shape. If Kan was puzzled before, then he was nowhere near as puzzled as the light had complete human form. He was staring at it with a look of utter amazement. The man had a huge resemblence to Kan, though his hair was not white at all, it was a very light blonde like color and his eyes weren’t dark red, they were dark green. The man had a huge smile on his face. He looked at the man’s forehead, he had the same two dots that Kan had.

Could it be?

He kept staring at the man that was grinning broadly at him. He meant to talk but no words would come out, he was kind of nervous, he did not even know this man. The man had a rather kind of similar outfit. He had a very large white robe on and the right said of it was cut off. His right shoulder looked very scarred and he had a very broad chest and was also very skinny. He looked at the man’s right arm, he, like Kan, had a bone tatooed to his right arm that ranged from the top of his shoulder to his wrist, and like Kan’s, it was painted dark red. He opened his mouth once more, but yet again, no sound came out. The man’s smile stayed there, but not so broad, it was more of a grin now. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he began to chuckle rather softly, with an air of excitement in his voice. It was not so high pitched, neither so low, it was intermediate.

“Uhmm… Excuse me, sir? Who are you and could you please tell me where I am?” He asked the man rather politely.

The man chuckled rather slowly with less excitement. The smile was slowly beginning to fade from his face and now he looked a little serious. He kept looking at his eyes, like he was acknowledging every part of Kan’s face, from the two little dots on his forehead to his dark deep red eyes.

“Your eyes are so much like your mothers, son…” The man said rather slowly.

Your appearance, personality, history, and RP sample are great. Good job with those, very nice detail.

-Burning Poison needs to be at least B rank. You'll have to remove it for now. Its a bit intense for just a C.

-You need to actually list the basic academy jutsu. Tedious I know, but its gotta be done.

Other than that, the only problem I see is Nerve Needles. It has potential to be used improperly as it is currently, but I think it can be left as is. I'll be watching it closely though.
