PostSubject: Kusuri Clan (WiP) Kusuri Clan (WiP) EmptyThu 26 Apr 2012, 9:22 am

Clan Name: Kusuri Clan
Location: Originally from Kusagakure. Now all over.
Signature Traits:

Potion Brewers:
Members of the Kusuri Clan focus on the fine art of brewing potions. These potions are their main strength, as they have a vast arsenal of unique potions to choose from. Ingredients for these potions vary anywhere between herbs fruits, minerals, chemicals, and other miscellaneous agents.

Medical Knowledge:
Due to the various herbs and other ingredients used within the clan's potions; members must posses knowledge of the medical arts. Due to this requirement for brewing potions, members gain access to the medical arts of ninjutsu, medicine, poisons, and antitoxins/antidotes. (Characters are required to have Medical as their prime Specialty.)

Potion Rules, Bases, and Rankings:

How to create a potion - Potions are created by mixing various ingredients with a stable base in vials over a light flame. Ingredients vary based on the potion itself, as does the base. Bases of potions are typically alcohol. The higher the alcohol content the stronger the brewed potion will be. With more potent bases comes higher intoxication levels. Certain potions require stronger bases to be brewed, due to their complexity and ingredients. If the brewer does not meet the requirements to work with the required base, then that potion can't be brewed, though this does not stop said brewer from knowing about the potion.

Bases/Rankings/Toxicity Levels -
• Weak Base: C-Rank with a low toxicity level.
• Medium Base: B-Rank with average toxicity level.
• Strong Base: A-Rank with a high toxicity level.

Toxicity & Toxicity levels - Toxicity levels are the measurements of alcohol within a potion. The stronger the base for the potion, the higher these levels are. Each potion has it's own intoxication levels, based on the base. This level determines just how much a consumer can have before becoming intoxicated/inebriated. Due to mixture of ingredients with a base to create a potion, the potency of the alcohol mixed with will naturally be decreased, making it easier to consume various potions without feeling the affects of intoxication too quickly. If these levels are reached then the consumer will feel the affects of inebriation, causing various symptoms such as slurred speech, euphoria, impaired balance, loss of muscle coordination, flushed face, vomiting, reddened eyes, reduced inhibition, and erratic behavior. If the levels are further pushed it can cause dehydration of the body, black outs, coma, and death.

Toxicity Scale - The toxicity scale is the scale used to measure just how much alcohol a potion contains. The higher the number, the more intoxicating the potion. The scale runs from 1 to 10.
• Weak Base: Scales 1-3
• Medium Base: Scales 4-6
• Strong Base: Scales 7-10

Toxicity System - The toxicity system is the system that measures your intoxication levels. The Higher the count, the more intoxicated you get. The more intoxicated you get, the more nasty side-effects you feel. It takes at least one post after consumption to feel the effects of intoxication. To lower toxicity count, it takes at least 3 posts, without alcohol consumption, to lower the count by 1. Once the count is over 7, it takes 5 posts, without alcohol consumption, to go down by 1.

Stages of Intoxication -
• 1-3: Stable - Consumed alcohol but have yet to been impaired by it.
• 4-6: Buzzed - Have started feeling the affects of the alcohol within your system. Slurred speech and euphoria begin.
• 7-9: Drunk - Intoxication has been achieved. Impaired balance, flushed face, reddened eyes, and reduced inhibition are accruing.
• 10-14: Full Intoxication - The body and mind are in a state of impairment. Loss of muscle coordination and erratic behavior is accruing.
• 15: Rejection - The body has far too much alcohol in it to work properly and is starting to reject it. Vomiting, dehydration of the body, and black outs are accruing.
• 15+: Flat-line - The body is shutting down and one is either in a coma like state or has experiences death.

(The amount of alcohol an individual can consume before feeling the affects of inebriation varies on the individual themselves. If an individual has a natural tolerance to alcohol, then it will replace one of their Special Characteristics.)

Spoiler:

Potion Consumption & Effects - The consumption of potions is only limited by the number of potions one is carrying, granted the consumer can withstand the toxicity levels of said potions. When consuming a potion, the consumer will gain said effects of that potion one post after consumption. Effects of different potions can stack, however effects of the same potion can not. If the consumer were to take a stronger version of an already consumed potion, the stronger one will simply replace the effects of the weaker, however the toxicity levels are added together, meaning that said consumer will feel the full toxicity levels of both potions.

Potion Kits - Potion kits are portable labs and carriers that stock various potions, ingredients, and vials. Each member from within the Kusuri clan possesses one of these kits. Potion kits are not instantly supplied and only hold so much in supplies. To restock a kit, clan members must stock up at a larger lab through RP. Potion kits carry enough ingredients and vials to brew 10 potions and no more. Potion kits can not be altered to carry more potions or supplies.

Kusuri Labs - Kusuri labs are stationed shops, resupplying points, and safe havens for clan members to go to. These labs are stationed across the labs, usually found in larger villages/towns, cities, and hidden villages. Though these buildings and work shops provide supplies to active clan members, they also provide supplies to the public, though combat based potions/poisons can only be purchased by licensed shinobi.

Poison Name: Cripple
Rank: B
Poison Description: An effective poison that affects the muscles to those exposed to it. It is usually released as a gas that is inhaled, but can also be made into a liquid form that can be applied by open wounds, consumption, injection, or contact that would allow it to ingest into someone's body, soaking into the skin or contact with ones eyes. This poison takes about three posts to start to effectthebody, spreading through the bloodstream and numbing and slowly weakening the muscles, causing the body to become slower or unresponsive. Once the poisons effects fully kick in, it will last for eight posts from the affected individual.
Solid State: N/A
Liquid State: A dull yellow in color, this poison is very light and moist. It's a very simple liquid, that easily soaks into the skin, causing the spot in which it soaked into to it become a dull yellowish color.
Gaseous State: A slightly foul smelling gas, that holds a slight yellowish tint to it when in larger collections of gas clouds.
Poison Effect(s): Spreads through the body, numbing and weakening the muscles of the body, causing them to drastically slow down, perform poorly, or stop responding.
[ Post 0 / Turn of Infection/Injection] No symptoms.
[ Post 1 / Effect] If injected the injection point will turn a yellowish color. The poison is spreading through the bloodstream.
[ Post 2 / Effect] Movements will start to feel sluggish, mostly at the injection point and close by muscles, being the path the poison first travels.
[ Post 3 / Effect] The sluggish feelings spread further from the extraction point. Muscles by the injection point are now becoming weaker.
[ Post 4 / Effect] Body is slowing down dramatically, as the poison has started effecting the majority of the victims body.
[ Post 5 / Effect] Body becomes heavy and relativity unresponsive. Limbs are very numb and weak, the poison now taking full effectiveness in weakening and slowing down the body.
[ Post 6 / Effect] Body remains pretty heavy and unresponsive, though the poison starts working its way through the system.
[ Post 7 / Effect] The body remains rather groggy but starts to get back it's feeling.
[ Post 8 / Effect] The body's muscles start to loosen up and the numbness lifts from them. The body is still a little slow, but is no longer dead weight. It will return to normal within the post and be back to normal for the following one.
