Description: This technique targets a single shinobi after the user performs a single hand sign. As soon as the the sign is performed, the user vanishes into a flurry of feathers. These white feathers obscure the battlefield greatly and hamper the victim's vision with a sea of them drifting from the sky. The feathers can be touched, have their own shadows, and appear to be quite real, except for the fact that each feather is a perfect replica of the other feathers. But it is unlikely a shinobi in combat notices such a small detail in the heat of the moment. This technique can only last up to five posts.

How do you automatically know what an acquaintance of your target/s looks like? Since it's an illusion you're projecting, this is information you'd have to have in order for this to work. The only other method for this to work would be for you to sift through the target/s mind for the relevant information and then use that but such an effect would be beyond what C Rank Genjutsu is capable of.

A Genjutsu ( when not an optical illusion) is when chakra connects one person to another via the mind. This jutsu uses that connection to allow the person to suffer their own crafted illusions depending on the faces and people familiar to them. So I never learn any information, the chakra just influences their minds to perceive people around them as other people.

Except in this case it is an optical illusion. You're making them visually perceive one person to resemble another. The chakra connection alone doesn't do anything. Genjutsu is the art of making that connection and then using it to send false signals to the five senses. Besides, even IF you were simply nudging the target along (which your technique isn't stated to do), you'd still need some kind of suggestion like an audio cue to make that happen or else it's less illusion and more neural remodelling which is outside the realm of Genjutsu. The description states "overlay the image of a friend or family member" which insinuates the caster projecting false visuals to the target.

False images that only apply to the target that is affected by this technique. Nobody else can see the illusions.

You're missing my point. You can't create an illusionary image of a person you've never seen before. You can't even project a memory that you weren't present for because you simply don't have that information. The best example I can come up with for this is the opening sequence from Inception. The safe house dream is revealed because the dreamer tried to create a carpet he'd never felt before and thus got the texture wrong. Obviously this is about sight rather than sensation but the same rule applies. You can't create an image when you yourself don't know what that image looks like.

If your technique isn't directly affecting one or more of the five senses, it cannot be considered Genjutsu. What you're suggesting more akin to physically causing the target's mind to work differently rather than sending false signals to the brain. The latter is what Genjutsu does while the former is far more likely to be the result of either Eijutsu or blunt physical trauma.

I'm pretty sure the latter is stated within the Genjutsu Kai's technique, not something users have to specify with each Genjutsu. Nomsayin'?

It applies only to Area of Effect Kai techniques and those that are generally easier to dispel. But it still requires a set duration. One comment though. What do you mean by the phrase "a shinobi vanishes" in your second sentence. Just, any old random shinobi walking around suddenly vanishes? Does the user vanish? Does the enemy vanish? I'm confused what you mean.

Phew, looks like I screwed up a bit. Glad no one called me out on that one, things could have gotten unpleasant.

Given how powerful this illusion is, I don't like giving it such a long duration. 2 Posts maximum would be far more acceptable considering how similar it is to this:

The point of that technique is to allow a shinobi to escape, the point of this technique is to create a battle field hampering for the opposing shinobi.

Also, Demonic Hell Viewing technique let's you sculpt reality as you damn well please and it's a far lower ranked technique. (D I believe, but even if it is C it does not state any duration whatsoever to my recollection.)

Your character is becoming invisible to the enemy however, which is far too strong to be given more than a couple posts in duration. Also, the demonic hell viewing whatever is an infantile technique that any half decent shinobi could break. Hardly comparable.

Becoming invisible to the enemy and becoming invisible completely are two different things. Are you saying the opponent could still visually track you after you vanished into this sight impairing sea of feathers?

You can vanish behind a bus, dumpster or in a cloud of smoke too. The technique says nothing about the shinobi becoming or remaining invisible. It's a technique that literally makes a bunch of damn floating feathers to obscure one shinobi's vision of the battlefiel while the other ( the user) keeps full vision.

Is it going to be difficult seeing through the feathers? Yes. But it won't make it impossible.

Could you specify which is the case then please? Also, the description gives the impression that the user takes on the form of those feathers when vanishing rather than simply being obscured from view. Please also clarify that in the description.
