Appearance:

A person's appearance isn't decided through a random lottery of genetics; instead, it is a complex system of genes forming a new individual who pulled dominant traits of each generation. Each trait serves a key to the person's appearance and thus, creates the individual's assemble. Naiya, somehow managed to become an almost perfect carbon copy of her mother. The two resemble each other in a way that comes close to perfection. However, there just like every new generation, there is a humble difference from the former.

One is that Naiya definitely does not look like a shadow. Spunk coats every inch that is Naiya. Though she does only reach the height of four feet and eleven inches, one cannot assume that Naiya is fragile. Her athletic build proves that she indeed exercises and despite her ferocious appetite, she still maintains a healthy and lean composure. Her well-toned muscles prove that she goes out in the sun and though her angles are well defined, they don't make her look as hard as she should. A quiet softness is one of the few auras Naiya's body seems to give out. Though she is indeed trying to release a more outspoken physique, a part of Naiya still maintains to appear quite soft.

As expected from a person who works out quite a bit, Naiya doesn't weigh all that much. All in all, she reaches the full weight of forty two kilograms. Unlike her mother who was a bit taller, Naiya doesn't really mind her height and weight since she believes it can give her an advantage in the battlefield. She is quite grateful about her physique as she knows that she won't appear as much in the arena as she would if she was a person of a more intimidating build. She believes that a tiny person like her can still give of the element of surprise when it comes to combat.

Her skin is slightly tanned from the sun, and like every normal ninja girl, she does have multiple scabs and bruises from training. The injuries are mostly in her legs, arms, shins, and shoulders and their placements seem to vary by the weeks. Her fingernails, though usually kept trimmed, somehow seem to contain flecks of dirt within them when she doesn't wear gloves. Naiya has the unusual habit of picking her nails when she sees dirt residue.

Her face is strongly identical to that of her mother's, a fact which irritates her gravely. Naiya's appearance mirrors her mother's so much that even her brother and father would strongly be disgusted to be reminded by that traitor. It is because of this that Naiya tries to look as different as possible. Her mother, who always seemed to be a blank shadow in the back of the room, wore an expression that made her seem indifferent to her surroundings. Compared to her's, Naiya consistently wears the look of solid aggravation and irritation, her eyes glaring at the people who pass her on the street.

Naiya's cheeks, which naturally blush, turn even redder when she's embarrassed or irritated. Her cheeks puff up and she flushes when she's highly annoyed. She almost always wears a grimace unless she is contently and truly happy. Her smile is also one thing that differs from her mother's. Unlike her mother's oddly charming smile, Naiya's smile resembles that of a toothless child—one filled with soft innocence.

Her eyes are the dark blue pools to her soul. Unlike her mother's who's eyes contained the thoughts of lurking guilt and unhappiness; Naiya's eyes seem as shallow as a pond. It is unclear whether Naiya doesn't actually express emotions from her irises, or just that whatever thoughts are already expressed towards her face. Naiya doesn't seem to have any more deeper meaning towards her.

Naiya's hair is often cut short, though is jaggedly layered at the front. She keeps her hair spiked up in the back, another trait that Naiya's mother lacked. Refusing to have long straight hair is a promise she had kept to herself. She is strongly considering dying it to the lightest colour imaginable, so that she doesn't have to be mistaken for her mother every time she looks in the mirror.

Her outfit normally consists of a black jumpsuit with the chest zipper pulled down to reveal a grey undershirt that unusually resembles lady's underwear. She wears grey boots and matching gloves. She also wears a red scarf that gives her some colour. Before she had her ninja head protector, she used to wear a pair of orange goggles in its place.

Personality:

Each person is an individual due to their personality. Their personality moulds them, shapes them, allows them to become who they are currently. The personality is a development process that each person has to undergo. Naiya has had one heck of a personality beating; from a simply child who smiled at everyone into somebody who sneers at whoever looks in her direction.

Naiya is somebody who is easily annoyed. This trait is seemed to be caused by the amount of angst contained inside her heart. She is mad at the world. She is furious with herself for not being able to see her family clearer. She is angry at her father for deserting her. She is aggravated by her father for leaving her. Most of all, she was angry at her brother for being too cowardly to stay.

Perhaps that is the one thing that made her brave. She knew she had to get a lot stronger if she could pursue her father and her brother; the two people that ran away from the life they shared. She decided that she would not be afraid of anything that would come her way. Naiya would face every challenge as though it was something good. She would do it head on simply because that, in her belief, was the courageous way to go.

She also decided that speaking her mind wherever she went was how she was going to get things done faster. She is a blunt person who only knows her own opinion. Though she can cooperate with others, she finds it hard not being doubtful of their mindsets and finds it hard to trust other people with her life. If there was one thing she learned from her family is that she shouldn't trust anyone.

Though people tend to think that Naiya is all bark and no bite, she isn't afraid to show people how strong her teeth can really sink into. She isn't afraid of battle and accepts the fact that it is part of any ninja way. She decided that she isn't afraid of death; but it wasn't something she wished to face before she had finally gave her brother and father a peace of her mind.

When it comes to socialising with other people, Naiya either hates them or she doesn't. Most of the people she knows comes close to irritating her though she doesn't necessarily dislike them. In truth, Naiya does wish to have many friends and has an equal sexual attraction to both genders. Naiya comes off as socially-aloof, but she can try to make friends.

In her own mind, being alone had been okay since she simply knew that everyone deserts you in the end. It was a cold fact she had to learn the hard way.

Though Naiya does seem like a very vengeful person; she does have a lot of things she enjoys. One of her hobbies include sculpting. She enjoys clay sculptures the most and finds it very relaxing when her fingers mould the clay into different figures. She considers herself as an art enthusiast.

She also is most active during after noons and she finds it difficult to work with an empty stomach. Her favorite thing to eat is gyoza and often finds herself craving for the meal. She isn't much of a cook and is really insecure about her homemaking skills.

To Naiya, the best kind of weather is thick and foggy. It is unknown whether this trait was inherited from her KIrigakure roots. Naiya doesn't notice this either but she complains often when it's too hot. This is why she would rather wear more revealing clothing.

Naiya seems to have a weakness for sour foods and candy. She thinks it's one of life's best delicacies. She doesn't like sweet food much and it's been proven that she finds it hard to stomach anything too sweet. She absolutely hates strawberries.

She finds rock music soothing and though she isn't much of a dancer, she does sing well though she'd never admit it.

Combat Style:
Naiya doesn't exactly have any real strategy when it comes to her combat. She likes to think of herself as versatile; when really, she doesn't exactly have a plan. She charges into things head first and when she finally gets the hang of a battle, she chooses whether or not she wants to adapt to close combat or ranged combat.

Being an elemental user; she depends most on her kekkei genkai to give her the upper hand in a battle. She tries to save on her chakra use and tries to trick her opponent into impossible positions. She goes in for the kill and doesn't seem to show any signs of mercy.

||THE BACKGROUND

History:

The birth of a new child is simply a magical thing. The birth of Shikani Naiya wasn't anything but ordinary; she was the so-called gift of the goddess towards her mother and father. Her father, a well known ninja in her village, was proud to finally have the daughter he's always wanted. Her mother, though a silent role in the background, was said to be just as happy. She was going to be the child her parents always wanted to have accompany her older brother.

Being a young child, Naiya had always been expected to do what was right. It was something her father had taught her since her mother would play a shadow in the background. She would look up to the two most meaningful men in her lives: her father, and her older brother. Though they all seemed to be preoccupied with their own business than her's, Naiya didn't seem to really care much. She already had a dream coming, and that was to be a stunning Kunoichi that would wow her village and increase the masses. She wanted to pursue her father's legacy and not be a shadow like her mother.

It wasn't till she reached her academy years that she felt the true strain and pressure of becoming a shinobi. However, this was the life and path she chose. She knew nothing good would come out of dropping away from it. She didn't want to become somebody who simply pushed aside jobs that she wanted to take on. This was going to be something for her. This was going to be her life long career. The way of the ninja was extremely honourable.

She could see it in her brother's eyes as well. He was going to be a great ninja, she knew. She loved him dearly and she wanted to see his very dreams come true. She knew he loved her back, and though they didn't share as much time as she wanted together, they did share their love for the ninja way. She never felt her family slipping away from her.

Turning into a genin was something well-expected of her. Her brother seeming to be an advanced ninja for his age, and her father, a well known ninja were both the kinds of people she had to live up to. She didn't want to be a fall back like her mother. She knew she was a lot better than that. She would have never expected that her mother wasn't merely a shadow; but the evil darkness that covered the blood-red sky.

It crushed her too when she found out she wasn't even her own father's child or that she wasn't the pure blooded sister of her own brother. Shikani could feel her own world spinning around. She knew she was going to scream or vomit blood. She was disgusted with her mother; she was disgusted with herself.

It was when the worst confession happened. Kessho, Kumari—wife of prestige ninja Kessho, Isoya— was a Kirigakure Spy. The words that popped into her head screamed 'Traitor!' or 'Intruder!' She didn't know if she wanted to believe it. It struck her too fast when her father murdered her mother in front of him. She remembered the scene clearly. There was blood, so much blood. And along these lines of blood, she lost everyone in her family; her mother, her brother, her father.

She didn't know if she was too weak to leave or if she simply couldn't. She was tied down to this village like a solid rock. It didn't help that she was simply a none-experienced genin. There definitely wasn't much she could do but train, survive, and try to find the connections to all this.

Roleplay Sample:

The world seemed to move just as she did, or at least, that's what it seemed like. It was as though a vast majority of the student body didn't exactly want to associate with her. Tamiko didn't take this as an insult though, in fact, the intimidation was one thing that fueled her ego. It stroked her self-confidence and assured her that she was a force not to be meddled with.

Perhaps it was funny how somebody with her demeanor could act so conceited. Tamiko didn't blame her parents for it, nor did she blame those around her who treated her as they did now. She took credit for the gremlin she had become. It was a smug treatment, and she adored it. The teachers paid no attention to her personality; as long as she kept her grades up, why punish her?

Tamiko lingered around the school corridors for a bit. She had gone to the bathroom and by the reading on her small white watch, it was just about time for lunch. So, she lingered. Tamiko knew she'd be having lunch with her Onii-sama on the roof. She liked to think of it as a special routine the two of them shared. Family bonding she believed. ( Even though she stalked him and it wasn't exactly that special )

It was unknown to her what feelings her older brother had for her. She believed it was the same special attachment she shared for him. And though the girl was only probably a minor tool used for her older brother's personal gain, she didn't seem to notice or mind. The comfort of being next to him stood as payment enough for her. Some may have liked to call it an obsession; Tamiko called it their bond.

The girl, now with her lunch in hand, started walking up to the stairs that lead towards the roof. Students weren't exactly prohibited up there, so that made it more of a comfort zone for the two. She ran over to where her older brother stood and the brightest beam of a smile appeared on her face.

"Neeeeh! Lunch time, Onii-sama!" She sang.

Your app is very beautiful and well written, but there are a few small things that need fixing. I mostly ask for a bit more of an effort from you, because you are applying for a clan. And I can see that you can still do a bit better. Smile

When I was reading your characters personality I felt like there was no mentioning of what she really likes or loves. I mean, there is always that one thing someone can like doing or loves. She isn't really a robot is she? Does she like food? Animals? I am also asking because I want to see a little bit added to the personality.
