Physical Characterstics
Aesthetics: (These are the traits that are always present where the kekkei genkai is present) Ankouhanone hair is white by nature with a prismatic shimmer of pearl likeness. The same likeness applies to their teeth enamel, though there is an obvious likeness to canine fangs on the top and bottom set. Their ears are slender and long, bearing a cross-resemblance to animal ears and "elven" ears. Eyes appear white and without tone, though they have a pearl-like prismatic shimmer in light. Less than 1% of the bloodline population is capable of being born with blood orange irises instead, which is considered traditionally to be a curse. The skin of the Ankouhanone is ghostly pale as it lacks most of the pigments in average skin complexion, due in part to a lack of natural sunlight in the environment of the heritage. People of this bloodline have exactly six long slender tail vertebras, any more or less is a genetic defect caused at birth and should be extremely rare in nature. These are more for aesthetics than practicality, though they do have muscles of their own and enhance one's balance ever so slightly. Each one grows coarse, fur-like hairs that are also white with a pearl-like sheen. The nails of these people are sharp claws that only slightly resemble animalistic claws.

Preferred Specialties
Due to having a tribalistic upbringing, the bloodline has always used seals, charms and glyphs as a form of traditional or religious benefit. When the clan-gone-bloodline became more in tune with the modern world, it adopted the more solid practices of Fuinjutsu - essentially the same arts.

Kenjutsu and Bukijutsu have both been a long standing practice of the bloodline as well. Which of the two arts a rising ninja will choose is usually based on which his lineage before him or her had practiced though there is no traditional emphasis on learning one over the other.

Lastly the bloodline's power has a natural talent at being manipulated for the use of Genjutsu skills. It's natural affinity to resonation allows some of the finest audible and visible illusion skills to be used, the most recent practice of the bloodline. Only Second-Generation or higher members should be able to have Genjutsu upon character creation, unless learned in-character.

Ninjutsu is a default specialty for any Ankouhanone ninja to practice when any other specialty is not taken on. It is basic and easy to grasp, making it a fairly common choice among Ankouhanone combatants.


A Ninja must pick one or all of these specialties if hailing from this bloodline with this kekkei genkai! This does not include outbred relatives that did not inherit the kekkei genkai.








Elemental Affinities
Due to the unique nature of their chakra, the Ankouhanone don't have the ability of acquiring an element. Instead they have a unique chakra that seems to hail from the spectrums of light and even in some instances sound, caused by ionic emissions. This is where their inborn abilities to create and manipulate lights and make faint resonating sounds originates.

This type of chakra is called Ankouton and appears as a glistening aurora of colors even when in solid state. Thus, creations made or forged by bloodline members is prized and valued at a high price for its lustrousness.








Human-Animal Likeness :: Ebisu
The Ankouhanone is also a special connection with a unique type of beast located in only one place on Earth. These beasts were born from a small arrangement of mammals that were already unannounced in the world, and had changed from the seeping residual energy left behind by the Great Nations' imprints of a growing civilizaition.

These beasts, the Ankou-Ebisu, were terribly savage looking creatures at first glance. They have ravaging fangs, a scaly back hide and six long, thorny tails lined with patches of coarse white fur. Despite having a very visceral appearance by nature, they are omnivorous - preferring meat as a more dominant part of their average diet - and have soft, crystalline eyes to match their environment. These eyes became a local treasure to deviants of the Ankouhonane who poached the rather docile creatures for their enrapturing eyes and sold them as ornaments or jewelry setting insets.

The Ankou-Ebisu is about the size of a Timber Wolf, with a greater length that of a Dire Wolf. They can be mistaken for wolves, even "giant snow foxes" at first sight in dark, shady environments. Ankou-Ebisu do not usually attack, and actually share very similar behaviors to foxes. Due to the similarities between the two, Ankou Ebisu and Ankouhanone-wielders coexist peacefully and no Ankou Ebisu has been known to attack a member of this bloodline. They have the ability to reach a commune with the creatures and eventually befriend them. Some are used as pets, others as familiars and in rarer cases as summoning contracts.

Origin
Summary
Legendary unsung creatures known only as the Zenki no Ankou inhabited a land called Sono Shimekukuri, a hidden place leagues beneath the surface. For many decades, a tribal human race called the Ankou lived alongside and coexisted with the Zenki no Ankou, whom's name they borrowed from. Eventually the Ankou Tribe grew characteristic of the Zenki and soon gained similar powers and traits as them. However, long into their peaceful and seclusive existence, the Roof of the World - the huge crystal-and-obsidian-lined ceiling of the Sono Shimekukuri - was torn asunder by the cataclysms of the world above. The pollution left behind by the radiating chakra caused rapid mutations in the genetics of the once timid Zenki. They began to slowly turn vile an corrupt by the seepage of chakra from the overworld. The tribe was forced to chastise the Zenki as demonized beasts and began looking for a cure to devolve the beasts and flora of their land, looking through its very source.

Modern Interaction
The only daughter of the Queen of the tribe, Ruha, was sent alone on a voyage to the lands above Sono Shimekukuri. 'Sent' is actually a misnomer, for she had actually volunteered and forcibly left when at first denied. Slowly, but steadily, she relayed her experiences in the lands above to her people below through message and journal. As more time passed, more and more of the clan-tribe sent for the surface, hoping for new discovery and adventure.
In their raw and unhidden form, the Ankou tribesmen-and-women might be chastised and rejected by the dwellers of the surface. There is one known glyphic seal designed with the intent to temporarily conceal the less 'normal' parts of themselves, though would require reapplication for prolonged use and was hard to find, as only Fuinjutsu experts could apply or create it. In the mean time, more brave and naive Ankou Tribespeople such as Ruha strut around the surface, carefree of the opinions of others, a testament to her heritage of nobility.

Description: Recognized as the easiest and lowest-level technique in the Ankouhanone arsenal, the Hakumei no Hakubotsuraku is little more than an overgrown sparkler, thrice its size. It is popular among the youth for its dazzling appearance, though it does have a deeper purpose. The level of light that is emit from it is easily severalfold that of a gunpowder sparkler. The chakra particles burn with the luminous intensity of white phosphor. Despite the flash-blinding light and the brief immediate blindness that ensues for a few seconds upon looking directly upon it, very little heat is emitted from the particles and cannot cause a burn. The duration is approximately one turn, that of a sparkler's life.

Name: Colors of the Night Sky - Yabun Sora Teishokou

Description: With only two hand seals needed, the Yabun Sora Teishokou is a simple technique. It causes absolutely no harm. It's only effect is the handheld ability to collect light in the palm and direct the rays of colors freely. The upkeep is the cost of the technique for every turn it is kept active, but there is no gaps for deactivation and reactivation in this case.

Description: The Kyokukou Yousei technique is similar to Hakumei no Hakubotsuraku in many ways, and yet it is very different. Where the former is not capable of causing any harm, this is quite the opposite, used as a projectile. There is a winged ball of light created by this jutsu that flies at a rate of up to twenty-five feet per second. It does not generate enough heat to cause significant burns, but it can cause a bruise if one is struck directly by it, or knock the wind clean out of an academy student. Didn't your parents ever teach you not to play with fireworks?

Description: The Twilight Spear is just that; a spear made of chakra that has the look of the night stars and the aurora over a back drop of dark indigo, a constantly shifting, living breathing pattern. With the durability of an equally ranked weapon, the spear - about the height of a human with any manner of spear-tip imaginable - can be used as a throwing weapon or a close quarters one. Regardless of what it is used for, it is only a temporary maneuver which will only last through the cycle of one turn. As with most of the Ankou Tribe techniques, the Twilight Spear does emit a faint amount of light and color, insubstantial to an infra-red view.

Description: This is a truly legendary Ankou Tribe jutsu. It creates a wonder borrowed from the sky they so rarely had seen, that it was considered the afterimage of a god. This technique requires focus and repetitive hand seals summing twelve. It is very taxing, and even more sacred, so much that it was barred from use without the approval of a Queen or a Shaman of Ankouhanone. The effect is to create an imitation aurora that would last the rest of the night. Some even believed the aurora to be able to be sealed away if by a powerful enough fuin-wielding shaman. Though no such seal exists any more, if reformed it could hypothetically have contained a fragment of the imitation aurora that would last a lifetime if let be. What is creates is little more than high-altitude chakra which is charged into a circuit of energy, emitting shifting colors of light like a swirling cloud of color painted onto the skies by the most divine brush.

Description: The Nyuujou Hakumei no Foji does not require any hand signs, but it does take a measure of focus to channel. The purpose of the technique is to convert Ankou chakra around a solid object - a weapon - and consequentially it can only be performed at night, at or past the arctic and antarctic circles. Energy from the radiant Auroras are pulled in as natural chakra to be set in a cast made of the host's own. The entire process takes two, four or six thousand solo words and - if applicable - the equivalent of six, eight or ten forum turns from start to finish. The items produced come out like a pearl-like glass with a very faint colorful glow and a soft hum when pressed close to the ear, that is highly coveted. The effect will never go away unless the entire piece is scrapped and reforged. A little known boon to this kind of aesthetic treatment is that it makes the weapon capable of cutting down Ankouhanone techniques to four-fifths strength.

Description: A glyphic seal designed with the intention of creating a dampener. The seal is a dormant type. It is activated by an outside force, when an object with a mass greater than that of a common pebble comes into contact with it. When this happens, the seal blows open, creating an all-around (and underground) bubble barrier of charged gas particles in a static position. People and things can pass through with little effort, how ever chakra cannot - meaning things like imbued weaponry or external-use jutsu. The barrier won't subside unless broken by a force of equal or greater strength than its rank, and the higher the rank of the seal, the larger and more complex a glyph needed.

Name: Angler Seal: Body of Heaven's Night - Ankou Fuin: Tengoku no Yabun no Hada

Description: A glyphic seal made by the Ankou Tribe before its induction into fuinjutsu. This glyph, directly translating to the Body of the Night of Heaven, is an ad-hoc fuinjutsu that is placed on the bodies of Ankou tribespeople, usually on their forehead. It stores just enough chakra so that when it is activated, it gives a faint glow to the white pearly hairs of the Ankouhanone, enough to gently illuminate their immediate surroundings into a barely visible level. This can only ever be done to an Ankou bloodline inheriting individual. The seal can be used for a total of fifteen turns and has a virtually infinite shelf life. The seal simply wears off from their flesh when it is fully spent out.

Description: The Kyokukou Bakufu is an offensive technique of moderate power, used from a stationary point to repel attackers and possibly inflict harm. The ninja has only to put his or her hands together with their third fingers pointing up, and have the tips of these two fingers turn inward to each other. The technique works like an incendiary, quickly dispersing a thick and color-shifting haze around the ninja. This can prevent a person using methods such as Byakugan or Sharingan to pinpoint specific points or accurately predict movement since it is basically a shroud of chakra. Only a second after if disperses into the air, it triggers, creating an outward-repelling force that is capable of throwing some one who was once within it back up to a dozen meters. There is a second of time to react though, since the vivid colors and light emitted is not hard to notice at all.

Name: Angler Seal: Flash Fuse - Ankou Fuin: Furasshu Hyuzu

Description: Using tribal sealing glyphs as mediums for directional chakra flow, an object can be turned into a bridge for the Furasshu Hyuzu. Bridges are made in pairs of two points each use. When two or more individual bridge points are made, an energy is releases between them nigh instantly which causes both a quick flash and a burning heat between them which can be felt up to a foot away from the actual channel its self. For some one caught in a bridge, this can quickly cause mild burns to unexposed parts and harsh burns to exposed skin or flesh. Activating the seal after it has been places only costs the amount of C rank, but only one payment is needed to trigger bridges between any points within twenty five the ignition point, points twenty five feet from bridged points, so on and so forth.

Name: Angler Illusion: Iridescence - Ankou Sakkaku: Nijishoku

Description: A supplementary technique to couple into other genjutsu illusions, this Ankou Tribe-native jutsu is designed to act as a tripwire to other triggers of genjutsu. A ball of bright iridescent chakra would be made from the palms of the ninja, which floats effortlessly to their will within range. In reality, the ball is not emitting unnatural light, but to any one gazing upon it unwittingly, the effect seems very real. In it's unapplied form, there is no trigger effect. However when applied to a common object, it transfers its falsely iridescent and luminous properties into that object. If someone has bore witness to it before, one could hypothetically notice the pattern between noticing the iridescent light and being caught in another genjutsu, provided they even discovered that they were in a genjutsu the first time. Once this knowledge is possessed, breaking out of the coupled genjutsu only requires realization that the tripwire Nijishoku was in fact not real, rendering both genjutsu useless.

Description: Due to the nature of the technique it can only be performed and executed at night, either under the stars or under the crystal laden roof of Sono Shimekukuri. Hand seals are not necessary to channel Hakumei no Umi since the body of the ninja is acting as a refracting point. The light is drawn into their body and is amplified approximately eighty percent, giving them a glowing aura. This light naturally rebounds off of their person and onto other surfaces. If distinct visible traces of this light reach the eyes of unweary victims, they will be ensnared in a deep illusion that can only be broken if the light of the stars or crystals is cut off from the host or the host wills the release of their ensnared. Likewise the death of the host or the living out of the technique's timer will also be able to free them from the illusion. The nature of the illusion is to relax the bodies of the victims. Their bodies enter a euphoric state and their mind is given a false sense of peace and serenity. Thus they will receive tactile information down to fifty percent of what they normally should and their minds would be so nulled to the prospect of pain and suffering that they could take up to B ranked damage without acting upon or their injury or truly registering the nature of the hostility. The only setback to the host is the inability to break the intake of this light or expend chakra on other techniques during the duration of the cast. The genjutsu should last four turns.
