Mission Types
There are two types of mission, standard missions and special/campaign missions. Both can get characters mission points for completing helping them to advanced both in rank and personality however the former has no impact on the Ultimate Conflict while the latter does.
Anyone can create standard missions but only Kages can make special missions
Mission Template
The following template must be used for all missions:
Mission Title: (Title of Mission) Mission Type: (Generic, Village Specific or Personal) Mission Location: (Where the Mission takes place) Shinobi Requirement: (How many Shinobi does this mission require? One Genin, a Genin team without Jounin, a genin team with a Jounin etc) Mission Rank: (Rank of Mission) Mission Objective: (What is the Mission, describe very clearly) Mission Time Limit: (RL Time frame for mission to be completed. Max of two weeks for missions involving one nin, 3 weeks for missions involving multiple Nin) Min Post Count: (The minimum number posts by expect by each participant, a minimum of 3 for for missions involving one nin, 2 for missions involving multiple nin. Posts in travel threads are not count)

Posts in travel threads are not count) This template is universal and applies to both standard missions and special missions alike. All existing missions have been altered to comply with the new format. The purpose of this standardisation will be to create one acceptable format for which points can be awarded.
Standard Missions Creation
All Standard Missions must be posted on the mission board for approval and any member may make one. Due to the fact that all missions will ultimately lead to points on completion (towards ranking up) and development of characters every one must be of acceptable standard and as such go through approval. This is done by the mission Mods and Admin. Standard missions come in 3 types: Generic (open to all villages), Village and Personal. The first can be done by Nin of any village, the second by a specific village and the last strictly by a particular Nin or set of Nin.
Generic Missions ~ Due to far generic missions offer the widest appeal and application US positively discriminates in its favour. To this affect only generic missions will be given mission creation points towards earning mission creation medals. If you want to create missions with more limited scope this is fine but you are not going to be rewarded for it.
Storage
Existing personal Missions can now be found in Personal Mission Bulletin here on the mission board but all other existing standard missions are now stored in one of the three (to be created) mission threads which can be found in there respective villages administrative buildings. Here are the links for the following the threads:
Newly created missions will be placed in the approved section of the mission board (to confirm they have been approved by staff) and the relevant missions copy and pasted to the respective mission board (either all 3 villages, specific village) or the personal mission thread as applicable.
Going on mission
Shinobi no longer need to apply to go on mission. Once a mission is approved and assuming they meet the requirements they are entitled to go on that mission without needing to ask a mod as is currently required.
The only thing that is required is to make sure your direct IC superior/s knows you want to do one and is happy for you to do so and hasn't already got plans in mind for you or your team. In this regard before taking a mission on all participants must inform the respective kage and Jounin (for genin) of their wish to go on mission via pm. If they say its okay or do not reply within 3 days you may proceed to do the mission.
Successful Completion: Mission Time Limit and Post Limit
On all standard missions the first post most include a copy of the mission template at the top to make it clear that you are on mission and what the mission is for the benefit of mission mods and admin later. Mission time limit starts from your first post on mission (ignoring any travel posts) after which point all required posts must be done within the period set. Furthermore all posts by characters must meet the minimum word counts expected of them. Only by meeting both requirements will points be awarded upon completion. Should RL problems interfer with activity it is possible to get the time limit extend by up to 50% with Admin approval in this regard.
Where any one member becomes inactive as long as the rest of the team completes the minimum number of posts (for them, they are not required to meet the missing members post requirements as well) at the appropriate word count and completes the mission within the duration set points will be awarded to all members except the inactive individual.
Getting the mission accredited and being assigned points
All you need to do is PM one of the mission mods/admins a link to the completed mission and asked that it be accredited. If the mission has been successfully completed within the set time limit and the minimum post count met the entire mission thread will be moved to completed mission forum, locked and mission points awarded. For details about are points system and ranking up click here
Special Missions/Campaign Missions
Special Missions are missions assigned by the Kage that will have effects on the world at large and directly on the Ultimate conflict. To ensure that villages can make plans and missions in secret the system for them is slightly different
Approved templates and Handing out Missions
Unlike standard missions, each of which must be individually approved by an independent missions mod/admin special missions need not be. All they need to do is be based and adhere to one of the 6 approved special mission templates which I will redo soon based upon existing campaign missions. As long as this is done any such mission will be count as if approved individually and be considered official. At this point it can be assigned by the Kage to any available Nin who meet the mission requirements to be completed. In practise this will mean special missions are made by Kages in secret based on the approved templates and pmed to the Nin who will undertake them
Completing Missions & Detection
Special Missions are completed in much the same way as standard ones however there are a few notable differences. First off in special missions you are not required to post the mission details at the top till you have been detected.
With regards to detection, where your presence would be detected by one of means of a spy network the Nin in charge of the mission is obligated to PM the Kage/s of the village/s who have detected them of their presence. This reflects that your presence had been noted and the enemy Kage informed by means beyond your control. At the same time you must post the mission template at the top of the thread like any other mission. A failure to do so will invalidate the mission and you will not be awarded points or achieve the missions affects. Where you would not be detected you are not obligated to do so and should you complete the mission completely undetected you only need post the mission template at the top at the end before you pm for the mission to be accredited
Getting the points
Special Missions are credited in the same manner as standard ones though upon successful completion the affects of the mission on the world are also applied in addition to handing out of points |
