| Role Playing Rules
All rules mention in the Ultimate Conflict Section apply as do the following:
- Starting Threads and Threads Types
All threads are deemed open, attackable and potentially unless otherwise marked:
(Private) – Only threads made in the Creators home territory or when on holiday may can be marked private (NoKilling)/(NoAttacking) - Only threads made in the Creators home territory or when on holiday may be marked private
It is perfectly possible to interrupt existing threads as long as Detection and Travel time rules have been satisified. A failure to follow them will invalidate your actions and may furthermore invalidate the thread. Repeated or malicious breaches of the rules will be punished
- Posting Order & Minimum Word Post Length
post order (definition) - an order set between members to determine who posts when. Usually it goes from the creater of the topic to whomever joined it last.
To make things more organized, when you are role playing with other people please make sure that you come up with a post order and see to it that the post order gets followed. Usually it's the first poster that makes it, but that isn't always the case. Once the post order is figured out, please go by it. While posting out of place can happen avoiding making a habit of it. Should doing so have a serious impact on a thread and the PC's in it please contact a staff member to moderate the situation
In addition to posting in order all members are expected to adhere to the sites minimum post lengths. No exceptions are allowed:
Genins = 250 Words Chuunins = 350 Words Jounins+ = 450 Words
Members who consistently fail to meet these very basic length requirements may find their character demoted as a result. Note these are the minimum requirements, members are encouraged to greatly exceed them and is not uncommon for Jounin level members to post averages of 700+
- Keeping it Clean
Keep any Role Playing topics PG-13 and under. We do not want to see any topics of cybering. It's sad that this rule even needs to be clarified, but I know if it isn't someone will end up trying it.
- Chakra Reserves
The standard chakra reserves for Nin are as follows:
Shinobi Rank | D Rank | C Rank | B Rank | A Rank | S Rank | Genin | 14 | 7 | N/A | N/A | N/A | Chunin | 28 | 14 | 7 | N/A | N/A | Jounin | 56 | 28 | 14 | 7 | N/A | Kage/S Rank | 96 | 48 | 24 | 12 | 4 |
Please note each figures reflect the maximum a Nin of the rank can do of particular rank before exhausting themselves. For example Genin can't do 7 C Rank and 14 D rank, but rather up to 7 C rank or 14 D rank or combination of the both such as 4 C rank and 6 D rank. You will notice every jutsu of a rank higher cost double the amount of the last rank with the exception of S rank which worth 3 A ranks. Using more chakra then this is generally considered akin to god modding and using your limit is tantamount to chakra exhuastion
- Combat
Do not God Mod or Meta-Game, both are unacceptable. If you do not know what these please refer to following threads:
God Modding Meta-Gaming
Of particular note never:
1) State that you hit opponent in your post with any move or technique. Doing so is God Modding. They will decide if they get hit. 2) Claiming you avoided getting hit without a logical or indeed feasible reasoning behind it. Evasion and defence must be as carefully done as any attack and must be explainable. If you can not explain the logic of your action you are God Modding. Constant dodging, even by means of predictive abilities is also considered God Modding 3) Never state the actions of another person. It is fine to exploit there own actions if the thread allows but never to control those of another especially an opponent. You can not for instance claim your opponent ran to your left unless you opponent actually stated that previously.
Posting jutsu, techniques, weapons, etc. you do not have, or using the ones you have inappropriately or in a manner not implied or stated in the description, in a topic is not permitted. Furthermore if used to avoid death or to make something more powerful than it truely is then you will be considered to have God Modded
When in combat you must post details of any Jutsu used in that post at the bottom. There is an exception for genjutsu providing you follow certain rules (see the Genjutsu Rules).
You can only ever use Jutsu you know prior to the battle. Jutsu learned in a different thread after a battle commences can not be used
- Kawarimi- Substitution Technique
To use the replacement technique, you MUST have something of similar size and weight. This means you cannot substitute yourself with weapons, or any other smaller objects. Furthermore, you cannot substitute yourself with any living being.
- Minimum Word Count
In order to maintain at least a shred of professionalism, it will be required that the minimum word count of any post be 150 or more words. We don't want to look like a site of amateurs so let us do our best to maintain this standard.
There minimum post lengths are rank linked and are as follows:
Genin = 250 Words Chuunin = 350 Words Jounin = 450 Words
- Death
Dying is not uncommon and happens from time to time. The shinobi world is dangerous and you are advised to be careful. Avoiding certain death is considered God Modding. Failure to post/act in a thread in which your character is deem to be in ineminent danger or in potentially fatal situation can lead to your character being declared dead. This may occur with 1-2 weeks inactivity in the said thread.
Suicide is a problem that had plagued us on the old US and affects every site. Because of this, we've enacted the Suicide/Assisted Suicide Penalty. If you are found to have killed yourself, or have someone kill you intentionally, you will be punished in the following way-
-The only rank your next character may be is genin -For three weeks after your character is approved, you may only have D rank techniques, and all new C rank techniques you gain after that must be trained.
Moral of the story, don't kill yourself.
*Only extreme circumstances can bypass this rule, such as a planned death as a part of the plot.
- Mutilple Threads
All members may have upto two active RP threads running at the same time. Only one of these can ever be an action based/mission thread. While the may exist simultaneously they must cover separate time periods and not contradict one another. At no times should you be at two places at once or be in one country one moment another the next. This is to allow people to train or socialise while involved in other threads that may or may not be moving as fast as they might like. Character death in one thread, invalidates the other.
- Troubleshooting
All RP related problems disputes should be referred to Staff. If you believe someone has breached the above rules please contact either a mod or an admin about the matter.
