That may very well be the case. I didn't think of it as satire when I saw it because satire is usually funny. It doesn't change the fact that there's actual people who feel that way obviously. Just read the comments, there's many.
Yeah but, that was these guys taking the piss out of those guys. o.o Which is exactly what you just said, satire.

It was the cat's meow. I don't think Catelyn should've slit that innocent girl's throat, but she swore on her honor so I guess she had to eh...

I love game of thrones and I am halfway through the third book and am on series 3 ep 2.
I have a theory. If Bran Stark can get into the mind of animals. Can he get into the mind of a Dragon?

The Red Wedding should have been the season finale. The last episode wasn't terrible but it was all just building towards the next big plot points.

It's always been this way though if you remember. Ned dies in the episode before the season one finale and Stannis attacks Kings' Landing in the ep before the finale of season two. I guess it's like you said, they use the finale to set up the next season.

Consistency is one thing. But the usual of dropping a huge story piece on one episode can't quite work for the fourth season because of the clusterfuck of things that aren't addressed which involve
Spoiler:
1 Full Scale Battle 1 Trial A multitude of new character reveals, one in particular is quite heavy of a drop A large amount of Sansa's character arc *shudder* Another Wedding ETC
So color me excited for Season 4, but disappointed with Season 3. I'll forever remember 3 as the season where the Red Wedding occurred, and when Tyrion threatened to chop off Joffery's cock.
Nothing too specific in the spoiler, just can't be too careful.

To be fair, you're forgetting Dany rising from the fire with her dragons which ended season one.

They used the far more shocking moment of the season in the episode before that which was my point. Dany rising from the fire was the set up for the next season and was nothing compared to Ned dying. Stop trying to contradict me.

I actually like how Got approaches this. You always get an epic penultimate episode, and one final "breather" episode where the aftermath is usually seen and new plot points are set up for the future.
Look at it this way; since the series never ends in some kind of epic cliffhanger, the one year wait in between each season does become.. well... somewhat less unbearable.
Side-note: Am I the only one who would ritually sacrifice a bunch of beautiful young virgins just to get Charles Dances voice?

Hey, Ned dying was definately the biggest plot point of season one, I'm just saying Dany rising from the fire a suitable ending to a season whereas season three lacked anything that stirring.

I suppose that's true. I enjoyed the scene where the freed slaves lifted Dany up but it wasn't as exciting as her acquiring dragons. I swear next year she's going to be sailing to Westeros the whole time and she'll finally arrive at the end of the season or some shit..if we're lucky. Maybe it'll be dragged out all the way until the last season/book, I dunno.
