PostSubject: Storage Technique Storage Technique EmptyWed 22 May 2013, 6:03 am

I noticed something when I was looking over Dari's new charrie the Godaime. It says he seals his trident in his palm via the use of the standard storage technique, I had to make my own techniques in order to store my weapons anywhere but my scrolls, like I was required to do that because you can only store weapons in scrolls unless you specialize in Fuuinjutsu and can create the techniques yourself and use them. Not to be like this or anything but if he can do that when even in the sealing section of the guide it specifically says a weapons user can seal his weapons into scrolls and only scrolls. I'm sorry Dari but it looks like you need a scroll to keep that thing in unless I'm totally wrong about this.

Technically speaking, you're not entirely wrong. The weapon in question is an S-rank, and one could argue that the Gift of the Gods weapons set precedent for sealing weapons in non-conventional items. For that matter, S-rank weapons are in and of themselves grey areas in terms of raw ability; there's no clear definition on just what they can be reasonably capable of. So, it can be argued that the ability to store it in such a simple seal is inherent to the abilities of the sword. That said though, it does seem rather unfair that a dedicated Fuinjutsu specialist can't manage it, and yet a weapons user can by simple virtue of having an awesome enough sword.

Found something in the standard sealing technique to fix this, but now I'm pissed because I had to make my own technique in order to seal the items onto my body. A technique that has a much higher cost then the standard technique. If possible I would like to remedy this on my Character sheet.

Not exactly sure how I'm in the wrong here, I followed the Storage Technique and guide correctly in allowing me to store the Trident on my body. If you'll read the Chouzou no Jutsu [Storage Technique] you'll find that the technique specifically states that I am entitled to store an item or weapon onto my body, never does the technique mention a maximum rank that the weapon must be in order to do so, it simply states item or weapon. Within the Weaponry and Item Creation guide, under Storage, you'll find that it states I'm also entitled to being able to store a weapon onto my body. Now, it does state that they'd prefer it if they were in Scrolls or Carried, however, this is only enforced if members are continually storing weapons or items onto their bodies, to which I am not. Thus, I see no reason as to how I am in the wrong for this. As for your case, Leon, I'd say you were given the wrong information and you should be fine to go about sealing weapons the same way I have, that is unless you may have overdone the amount of body sealing with your weapons or items.

Name: Chozou no Jutsu • Storage Technique
Rank: E
Type: Fuuinjutsu, Supplementary
Range: Close (0m - 5m)
Element: N/A
Description: A simple jutsu that allows a ninja to seal or unseal any item, mostly weapons, from scrolls or from their body. After forming the necessary handsigns, the ninja will seal the item into a scroll etc. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons or have other seals inside of them, which expands the number of potential tricks a shinobi can use. The items themselves are unaffected by time. Ninjutsu can also be stored in scrolls, to be released when the scroll is opened, but require another person to cast said Ninjutsu; else it cannot be sealed.
Chakra Cost: 1 to seal; 1 to unseal.

Storage: Where do you store your item? Is it via a scroll? In a holster on your back or on your hip? Sealed via a tattoo. We would prefer most items to be actually carried with the user or in a scroll because body sealing is a kind of cheap way to carry an item like a sword, polearm etc.
