Yoroi Kaguya

Mission Title: The snake scroll
Mission Type: Custom
Mission Location: The fire country
Shinobi Requirement: Genin
Mission Rank: C
Mission Objective: Due to a stupid accident, a resident of the Ryuchi caverns misplaced one of the snake scrolls somewhere in the forests of the fire country. Knowing that it was lost somewhere along the main road caused quite some stress among the snakes, seeing as a lot of damage could be done if such a scroll were to fall into the wrong hands. It is for this reason that Yoroi is sent out with Shakreido in order to find the scroll and bring it back.

Yoroi Kaguya

It had been exactly one day since Yoroi met up with the White snake sage, a seemingly all knowing and massive serpent that acted as the spiritual leader for all the snakes that dwelled in the Ryuchi caverns, something that turned out to be quite an honor. Being the first human to even get invited to the place for the first time in several decades just added to the honorable sense of it all, at least that was what Yoroi believed. Being the chosen disciple of the White snake sage, he was to be trained to become a Sage too, just like him. At the time, it had all been a lot to take in, though the knowledge that this kind of power could give him an edge in ending this war was what eventually led him to accept the offer. If he actually finished the training course and finalized the trials, he would be a lot stronger then he was now. Power was something he embraced more then anything, for it was power that would eventually lead him to the point where he could protect his country and his loved ones from the looming threat of Kirigakure.

Because the White snake sage had sent him back to the Monastery before he would begin his actual sage training, it seemed like it would be time to just continue with his normal training, as far as normal went. The other day, he had been able to boost his chakra capacity through deep meditation, unlocking the power that was inside of him in a way that only Monks could. Not just that, but the ability to use fire release had also been awakened inside of him, something Modoroki believed to be quite a rare thing. Most people only had two elemental natures, though Yoroi was one of the rare ones that had three of them. The fact that he was special was not something he doubted, knowing full well that he was not like other people due to the way in which he was raised. It was because he was special that he was chosen by the White snake sage in order to receive Sage training. One of the things that came with his training was the fact that the Ryuchi often came with something he had to do for them, sometimes being quite the mission, sometimes meaning absolutely nothing. Today was one of those days, being sent on another one of those missions no one really wanted to do.

Finding himself in the forests of the fire country, Yoroi and Shakreido had been asked to find a scroll that had been lost somewhere in the fire country, a very broad area to search, making it a rather annoying task. "So Shakreido, why did you ask me to help with this, or better yet, why don't you let the guy who lost the scroll get it back himself. I mean, he lost it himself, so why should I put a hold on my training just so we go into the forests to look for a scroll. I mean, I thin-" Yoroi said, bothered by the fact that he had to go out to look for some damned scroll when he could be training himself for the war. The reason why he stopped was because of a loud hiss that effectively silenced him and put his full attention on the large snake. "Before you continue, I would like to point out that the one that lost this scroll is called Reikan, and he is my brother. As someone who has a sister, you of all people should know full well that the things one would do for family does not always follow regulations, sometimes even defying logic" Shakreido said in response. Harsh as it was when one considered Yoroi's situation, it did not mean that it was any less true, something Yoroi understood well.

Yoroi Kaguya

After hearing Shakreido's explanation, Yoroi fell silent, proving to Shakreido that he had been right. Sadly, the words the snake had uttered had caused Yoroi to think about Kimiko. He knew that she was going to be really sad about him leaving, just like how he was incredibly sad about having to leave too. It just seemed like it was the best thing for her if he just disappeared from her life so that she could be happy with Toshiro, a man he utterly despised. With the large bronze snake slithering in front of him, Yoroi shook the thought as it tried picking up the scent or whatever else his brother had left behind. Because the two snakes were so well acquainted, it was not that hard for Shakreido to find the scroll once he got to pick up it's scent, though the hard bit was figuring out exactly where he had been. It was for that reason that Yoroi had been guiding Shakreido to the Roiyaru road, this being one of the places most people used in order to travel. "So, if your brother passed through this area, then how could he have lost the scroll. Did people chase him? It must be rather hard for someone as big as you to remain unseen for an extended period of time" Yoroi asked, wondering what had happened to him.

"Some of us use a Ninjutsu that temporarily grants us smaller humanoid bodies. It allows us to cover large distances without being spotted, which would be rather easy if we stuck to our original large bodies. Personally, I have never tried it, I don't think I can get used to the limbs and the fingers" Shakreido claimed as he kept slithering over the ground, trying to find his brothers scent around somewhere. It seemed strange for a snake to be able to turn into a more human like form, though he would not openly say such a thing. He knew that humans could wield snake powers and physical alterations, so who was to say that they were incapable of such things. The concept was an interesting one, figuring that it worked in a way that was similar to the Henge technique most Shinobi learned in the academy, just stronger and more elaborate then that. It was really too bad that Shakreido could not do this, for it was something Yoroi would have loved to see sometime. It would just have to wait for the time being, probably being able to find someone else who had the ability to shift into a human form, preferably Reikan himself if the opportunity ever showed itself.

Suddenly, Shakreido rose it's head up into the air, towering high above Yoroi as it seemingly caught onto the scent that they had been trying to trace. Without Shakreido's superior ability to pick up scents, this mission was bound to fail, so they could not have been any luckier. For a moment, everything was silent as Yoroi gave Shakreido the time to properly find the right direction to head into. For Shakreido, completing this task was incredibly important, wanting to fix the mistake his brother had made before the others would find out about what he had done, albeit accidental. It made him think about the relationship he had with his sister, wondering if it was anything like what Shakreido had with his family. Yoroi and Kimiko were not really related by blood, though they did both love each other very much, that much he knew for sure. The time they spent apart was not being good to him, though he knew that this was probably what was best for his sister. Sometimes when people loved one another very much, they had to go away so they could chase their happiness.

Yoroi Kaguya

By the time Yoroi finished pondering over his sister, it seemed that Shakreido had successfully picked up the scent of Reikan, picking up the pace and moving deeper into the forest, away from the main road. Following the scent as well as possible, Shakreido and Yoroi went deeper and deeper into the forests. Yoroi could not do anything other then just follow the large serpent, lacking the ability to smell out where they had to go, thus leaving everything to Shakreido while he just backed him up. Due to the tall grass, large shrubbery and the many trees concealing everything that might try hiding behind it, it was a fairly dangerous task, especially since Reikan lost the scroll here. Whether it had been because he was attacked or because he made some personal mistakes was unclear at this point, though they would find out soon enough. After all, it only took Shakreido several minutes to find the scroll that had been cloaked in Reikan's scent. Passing through the leaves, Yoroi could not help but think about what Shakreido had said about family, about the things people did for family and how stupid some of them were. Was the decision he had made to leave Kimiko a stupid decision, or was it one that could make her life better, he really wouldn't know.

"You are right though, there are things you would do for family that seem illogical or end up hurting yourself, so I do understand why we have to do this. I would be lying if I said I didn't, after all, I left my own sister just to make her happy with her boyfri- her husband. If I stick around here, i'll just cause them both pain, and despite my dislike for the guy, he deserves this, as does Kimiko. So, if there is ever another family related matter, you only have to ask and i'll jump right on in." Yoroi admitted, even though Shakreido already knew this. Family was a sensitive matter to the young man, though it was also one of his biggest strengths. The fact that he had people to care for made him stronger, it pushed him to become stronger and stronger until there was no one left he could not beat. It was that that he wanted, to be strong to the point where no one would ever get past him to hurt his family. Strengthening his resolve, his eyes caught something in the bushes, seemingly having fallen from an elevated position and leaving a bit of an imprint. Picking it up from the ground, he held it up for Shakreido to see and discern whether it was the one they had been looking for, or something else.

It did not take Shakreido more then a few seconds to make sure that the scroll was the real deal. Taking the scroll in his arms, it did not seem like there had been any real reason as to why the scroll could have been lost. It meant that he had probably just dropped it by accident and forget where exactly it had happened, this being the most logical explanation Yoroi could think of at the moment. It was good for Shakreido to see that nothing had happened to his brother, to know that he had just been dumb and lost the scroll. Letting out a sigh of relief, his attention shifted towards Yoroi. "Even though you did not have much of a choice in the matter, I still want to thank you for helping me out with my brother's little problem. That said, I just might take you up on your offer, some help is always welcome. Now, lets return to the Monastery for now, there are a lot of other things we need to talk about, things that probably should have taken priority over this mission... but that's something we can cry about later. Lets get going" Shakreido claimed, making Yoroi wonder what this other problem was. Releasing a deep sigh, he sat himself down on Shakreido's back, letting the snake take him and the scroll back to the monastery.
