| Yoroi Kaguya | | | Showing off ending his meditation session of the day by opening his eyes and taking a deep breath, he figured that today would be the day. Getting up from his seated position, he set off against the rock and dove into the ice cold mountain water. It was so cold that the average person would numben up in mere seconds, though Yoroi was not exactly average. Swimming through the river while the current sent him on his way, he made it to the shore where he had put his clothes. Yoroi lacked those fancy electronics that would quickly dry his clothes, so he had chosen not to take his clothes with him into the water, taking them all of and folding them up on the shore. Swimming naked felt nice, making him feel even closer to nature when he had no clothes to cover him up. Despite that, the privilege of wearing clothes was what separated him from the animals, probably being the only thing that did so.Slowly, he put his clothes on after drying his body, the time had come to try something he had not done in a very long time, for it was something that eventually took it’s toll on both himself and his training partner. The last time they had seriously been fighting one another, they had almost ended up killing one another in their own urge to beat their opponent. It was only natural, for they were both animals in soul, one also in body. It was not that hard to figure out who it was that he would be fighting if people had watched Yoroi and his way of life. Obviously, he was speaking about his friend and companion, Shakreido the bronze scaled snake. He knew that by fighting the great snake, he was inviting deep wounds and bruised bones, though that was just what made fighting the serpent so enticing. Forming a quick string of seals, a poof of smoke popped forth, covering the bronze scaled snake entirely. Moments later, the snake was shown, laying in coils on the ground."You are sure about this, you really want to do this thing again, even though last time... well, I don’t need to remind you of last time. We both know I would have killed you if you had not tapped out when you did, otherwise we would not be having this conversation. Still, it is your decision, I won’t try to stop you if you really want to lose to me and prove my superiority again...”As far as it was possible for his species, he could tell that Shakreido was grinning at him about the last time they had done battle. In truth, the fight had ended in a draw, the two of them wrapped around one another in a mass of scale and bone, one being able to bite out the others throat while the other had the chance to perforate the snakes entire body from tail to head. It seemed that the scaly bastard had forgotten it’s place when they fought last time, something that would surely change if he wanted to try going up against Yoroi again. Last time, he had been holding back a bit, though that would not be happening again any time soon. Cracking his neck before he cracked his knuckles, it seemed high time to learn Shakreido a lesson in respect he figured he would already have learned by now. It was true that the two of them had been equals for a long time, though Yoroi knew for a fact that he had surpassed him not too long ago.“It’s stunning how bad your memories are when it comes to this kind of thing. The way I remember it, I had you in a stranglehold and could pierce your entire body in one rapid strike. All you could do was try to bite my throat, if you would still have been alive by the time you would have actually reached it. Seeing as you've forgot, allow me to refresh your memories.”Taunting the serpent by returning the same level of petty provocations, a momentary silence fell over the grassy knoll they stood upon. The only thing heard were the bones cracking and churning inside of Yoroi’s body, letting Shakreido know that his body had readied itself for battle already. Yoroi had been training long and hard for this, being more then ready to show Shakreido just how much he had improved his overall battle prowess. The main thing he had been focusing on was his speed, though he had also been giving some extra attention to his bloodline, the Shikotsumyaku. Watching the snake as it narrowed it’s eyes, Yoroi bent through his knees, ready to use his sublime new skills against the snake who at this point still had no idea of how hard Yoroi had been training in the last month. That was when it happened, the snake lashing out at high speeds, aiming to bite into Yoroi’s flesh and keeping him from getting away from further attacks. Yoroi had already taken precautions, having formed a thin layer of bone beneath his skin to keep the snakes fangs from penetrating it and causing hemorrhaging.
When the snake was almost there, Yoroi shifted his footing and dashed off, almost as if he had disappeared entirely. Moving at speeds that made him look like a blur to the human eye, the snake had quite a bit of trouble keeping up. Dashing to his side, he punched the snake right in the jaw, feeling yet again just how hard his scales were. In that moment, Shakreido also felt just how much Yoroi had improved in terms of speed and power, almost being knocked out by that one hit. Getting his act together, the snake moved his long tail and thrashed it around in a sweeping motion at high speed and power. Not being able to dodge it in time, the tail slammed into Yoroi’s ankle, tackling him at full speed. Performing a quick barrel roll, he got back on his feet while having suffered only a couple of scratches, but still having the upper hand. Dashing forward yet again, he increased the density of his bones as a means of defense against the snake and his brutish force. When he thought about it, he figured he could use Ninjutsu against his adversary, though such a thing would not be fair. Trying to boost his speed to outmatch the speed of Shakreido's perception would be the real challenge here, something the two of them both realized.Dashing in a circle around the snake, he was waiting for an opening in it’s defenses, though the snake was not so easily defeated. Using his great smell and heat vision, speed did not means as much as it did to those who had to work with their normal vision. Occasionally, he would use his speed to dash in, ending up in a clash of protruding bones and dagger-like fangs hitting against one another. The fighting went on for a long time, though neither of the two really took any damage outside of the occasional bruising and some gashes, though it was nothing to really worry about. Even though it seemed like a match to the death to those looking at it from the outside, they were really just having fun by letting their basic instincts run amok. It was the way they always had been fighting, though Yoroi's new found speed had been what pushed him to greater levels. Clashing time and time again, the minutes flew by, five minutes turning into fifteen, half an hour and eventually one full hour of battle. All in all, he had managed to utilize his speed to a greater extent then ever before, having outmatched the striking speed of a snake several times, making it all worth while for him. | | |
