The mirror that stares back from the abyss
Yuriko Tsukichinai | Kumogakure Jounin | Jigoku no Ko
Enter Sekai no Hime
Have no choice but be isolated
The girl was checking her equipment. Everything she had was perfect; her breath hissed in and out, as she adjusted her flap jacket, and ran a hand over her dark, formfitting clothes. However, she still wore a skirt; but it was a skirt that blew in the wind. She figured she should get a custom one soon; it would aid her mission clothing gathering. In fact, she wanted to design a full outfit for herself, but would that be possible? She wasn't really sure, as she tugged on the ends of the red ribbon to make sure it was tight. The girl's long purple hair was tied up in a ponytail, as she checked her pouches next and everything else that she might need. All of her equipment was together, she had the stuff for her healing, and well, she should be all ready and set. Why was a beautiful girl like her setting up to go on a mission during this fine morning? Well, the night before, she had gotten a missive from HER; the Raikage. This missive was more or less a mission that she needed to undertake with a partner; considering the nature of the case, it made sense that she, a medical ninja was tasked with doing this mission. After all, there could be injured children; but that wasn't the only thing, was it? In fact, Yuriko's medical capability made her a good partner for interrogation; she could watch their vital signs, keep an eye on their wounds and limits, and even inflict damage herself in mind breaking ways.
Or rather, guide people into doing it if she lacked the strength herself. The medic double checked her things again, and gave a bigger sigh. She had a partner for this mission; but she had no idea who they were, and what they were good at. She would learn this when she arrived at the gates to exit the village; it was easy to do so, as the medic took another breath. She wished that she didn't get some guy that was too trigger happy for her own good; the girl then tapped her bare feet, before she leaped to the window of her apartment. Sticking to the wall, she closed it, and then began to jump off, using the buildings to guide herself around the mountain, to the correct entrance. She would need to arrive there to meet up with her teammate to head out towards the village in question. That was the first order of business that she had to attend to, as the girl landed on the ground, and began to walk normally to the gates. She might as well enjoy a little bit of the morning, yes? The purple haired medic let herself breathe in the morning air, letting out a soft smile, as she waved to people that passed by, her cheeks with a light blush. Sure, she was shy, but the girl wanted to enjoy this village; where she was not treated as Gomi, where she could use the name that SHE had given the girl out of affection.
The girl felt almost excitement at this thought, but contained it; she didn't want to appear over bearing, or anything. After all, this was a precious comrade; she didn't want them to hate her, or think of her as a stupid girl. She hated people with such massive egos; it was annoying, and reminded her too much of her past, the past she wanted to mainly forget, and had succeeded in doing with her new life. The tip tap of the girl's bare feet stopped at the gate, as she smiled at the ninja's on duty; she had notified the hospital of her departure before hand, although she wasn't really important within it yet. But she knew that someday she would make it to the top! Adjusting her skirt, and making sure her sleeves covered her arm, the girl was anxious, fixing her headband over her waist, making sure it wouldn't fall off. It was a brand new Kumogakure Forehead protector, and even though it was meant for the forehead, she wore it elsewhere. But she didn't mind that; it was impractical, but.. she wanted to wear it where she wanted to! The girl felt her heart stop for a moment, and then she breathed out; she thought she had heard someone approach, and had been excited. But it was no one, as she shifted her weight a little bit; who was the person she was meant to be with? That was a burning question in her mind.
And those footsteps that she's hearing right now, might just answer her intense curiosity.

The shops in the otherwise busy market street of Kumogakure were still closed at this time, their owners still enjoying breakfast and the silence before the storm of customers. With no one out and about, the market area looked somewhat pathetic. So many space serving absolutely no purpose whatsoever at the moment. The only thing breaking this silence were the calm footsteps of Kabikare Mujina as he made his way through the district and towards the village gates. One could say he was taking his time, but this was exactly the reason why he had awoken an hour before he was supposed to meet his partner at the gates. It was too ensure he had enough time to have breakfast, shower and double check the equipment he had prepared the evening before and still have enough time to walk towards the gates at a leisurely pace.
The partner in question was an individual yet unknown to Mujina, other than her name, that she was a female, a Jounin herself and a medical ninja. The latter bit of information increased the Enenra's confidence in this mission's success. Mujina himself was a well-rounded fighter whose expertise in both Genjutsu and Weaponry meant he could be valuable from either close or mid-range. A medical-nin would be the perfect backup for him. With the risk of sustaining serious injuries decreased, he could close into melee combat more easily.
As the gate came within sight, he could already spot a young female waiting by it. His footsteps approaching, she would've seen a man in his early thirties approaching. The thing that made him stand out the most in a crowd was his hair, as its color was naturally cyan. The majority of it was hidden beneath a black bandana, however. The one he wore in place of an ordinary headband, with the village logo on a metal plate attached to the fabric. The only parts of the oddly colored hair that were visible was the bit falling across his neck and onto his upper back, which was blocked from the girls vision as it was his front that approached her, and his goatee.
The brightness of his hair was in start contrast with his outfit, a plain grey traveling robe concealing his torso and most of his legs, with black pants and ordinary shinobi sandals. Another more stunning feature was the large kanabo being held on his back. This giant club was a clear reason why most people tended not to fuck around with him.
As he got closer, Mujina ran his eyes over the kunoichi. She was younger than him, probably by around a decade. She was a pretty girl to be sure. The curves of her body were exemplified by her clothes, which seemed so tight it was like they were made specifically for her. Her hair was purple, almost as much an odd color as Mujina's. One peculiar thing he noticed was that while wearing clothing that seemed to fit her like a second skin, she didn't wear any sandals or any kind of shoes. One of the reasons Mujina wouldn't advice anyone to go on missions barefoot was how vulnerable it rendered a person to makibishi. Should a shinobi or kunoichi wearing sandals step into these hazardous little spikes, the leather shoe sole, while not completely protecting the foot, would at least keep them from puncturing deep into the flesh. In this girls' case.. well, Mujina wasn't going to help her dig spikes out of her soles should she be unfortunate.
Mujina didn't want to waste his breath yelling, so he kept walking until he was within ten feet of her, a distance from which he wouldn't have to raise his voice much to address her. If she was indeed the girl he was looking for, they could leave directly. If not, he would have to wait here and scold her for being late.
