Why is creations taking so long? We have 5 of them right?
There may be people who have been waiting longer, but I was promised a check a few days ago, and I am at 125 hours of waiting now. People take the time to remove bumps but not to checks, which I find rather lame.

Just saying, it's kinda ridiculous if you keep in mind that the girl has exams, real life stuff and a social life, yet manages to do all of that, while 5 people can't even check jutsu, which is very easy in comparison. Not being biased, I did both, checking jutsu is easy.

Whilst Amy is impressive, please don't denounce the rest of us. I had my final exam on Tuesday, i.e. two days ago and yet I was still working hard -_- As for the other mods, they too have exams or else, are at this moment plagued by real life issues.
And also there aren't that many things that need checking. You're exaggerating the issue because you want us to focus on your stuff, which is very clever of you. Having said that, I will do my best to go over the customs. :/

Agreed. How do you expect to keep this thread alive if you won't bother to help bring in new growth? Chris is the only active creations mod I've seen recently and for that I thank him. Though there needs to be more than one active Creations mod. That's just not conductive to the site's growth whatsoever.

I must say... 125 hours is a good little wait for something though; understandable that the staff may be short handed but since there isn't much to check... wouldn't that make it easier to get to this thing that Dino has been waiting (unpatiently ) for?

I said there isn't much to check, because I've dealt with the majority of recent requests today. I just haven't got around to his thread, because it's huge and mostly all custom, which unlike Dino thinks, is actually a lot of work to go through and I'm pretty short on free time, with school re-starting for me. Anyhow, as I said, most mods are either exam-ing or have real life issues to deal with; both which should be cleared up/over very soon.

oh, well if you just got to them today, then that makes more sense.. I withdraw my previous statement.. Sorry, Dino, you're on your own buddy.

I would expect this sort of reaction if the mods got paid for doing this. They volunteer. If you want apps checked quicker, well, apply to be a mod yourself. Errbody needs to calm they tittays.

The quoted statement makes the general assumption that people are leaving because moderators aren't doing their work. Of the most recent departure topics, the primary reason for members leaving is real life. As for the members who join and then gradually fade away, there can a multitude of reasons for this so generalization is not the way to go.
Your specific issue is with creations; people can't get their characters to develop because jutsu, equipment, clans, etc. are backlogged, which should only be true in the case of customs. Your right in that a delay in processing these does inhibit character development but it does not completely prevent it. While a five days wait certainly does justify a want for things to be approved, as an alternative until then you can write social topics and interact with other members. A five days wait for customs doesn't seem that long if you fill your time up with other things to do. And while I understand where you're coming from (I've posted in the Application Check topic as well) patience and communication are the most beneficial ways of going about getting things passed.
Some Perspective:
All members and staff have real lives and online personas. Time is finite and people need to decide how much time they should put into what. Some people, like Chris who has been able to balance his schoolwork with moderating and RPing are skilled at this balancing act. Others not so much, for one reason or another. Staff changes are made to compensate for this.
Members need to trust that staff are doing everything in their power to balance their obligations and fulfill their duties both in real life and online. Staff needs to trust that members understand the added work the staff is responsible for and that any issues can be discussed in a manner that is either friendly, professional, or candid. Ultimately, we are here to enjoy each others company and write. Neither of those can be accomplished without some degree of the aforementioned.
tl;dr: I agree that certain areas might need assistance, but I think some perspective is necessary so that things don't get out of hand. Topics such as these tend to blow things out of proportion even if that's not their intent.

The only reason why said topic is as big as it is is because I added something new each day while editing the other techniques. Saying I made this topic solely for myself is also not that bright, because it's not true. Sure, I know that I made it primarily for myself, but there are other people that have been waiting for it, people I was talking to when I quoted what I said in the Chatbox.
But to come back to my problem, since it's what you like to discuss rather then the big picture, I was promised to get helped by two moderators, which was at the start of the week, both told me they would do it a day later, though neither did. Of the five, I have seen three log in several times during the last few days. So maybe I was denouncing the rest of you because Amy is an awesome mod, you just made things denouncing for yourself.
You basically said that there was not much to check, while three moderators got on several times during the day, while those (few) things were not checked. If it was really as little as you said, it would have been done sooner, so that kite won't really fly...

It is true what he says by the way, we do need more active creations mods, and I do believe we just got a new bunch of moderators a while ago. Back when the other Naruto site was active, I was one of the active moderators that checked a ton of stuff every day, which is why I have so little patience for this kind of thing. Checking stuff and approving techiques are small bits of growth for the character, helping to get that stuff approved is what keeps people going. For me, the lack of activity is what always made me go inactive, and even though there are other people that left for other reasons, for myself, it is part of the reason why I would go inactive.
So now, I did not really come here for understanding, I just wanted to say it and get to know what people thought about it. As a Moderator with several years of experience, I know very well what it's like for their side, though it's the Moderators that won't see things from the other side. So what you don't get paid, so what you don't have time, you sign up for something like this, knowing that it's an ungrateful job most of the time, but you still sign up. That's what I wanted to say.
If it's too much, why sign up?

Sadly this isn't the first time this has happened. And for the same reasons with the same canned excuses by staff members. I would make suggestions but since it would involve some staff getting a long-needed boot up the rear I won't bother. The staff's first reaction to any hint of their not meeting the obligations they willingly assumed hasn't changed one bit - deny, belittle, and if the person won't back down throw out red herrings, lock the thread to prevent responses, and delete anything that puts them into a bad light.

Jesus, you're making me out to be a saint when really, evalling topics is something I enjoy O.o
But honestly, patience is a virtue... otherwise, that's my only input on this topic. I couldn't do what the Creation Mods do; it mostly goes over my head apart from the very basic stuff. Either way... Amy is out

Euphoria covered everything as well as just about anybody could but I'll humour those with negative opinions and give my two cents on some of the comments made in this thread. I'll open by stating I think the current state of our Creations team in particular is shocking, the only reason I'm SOTM this month is because I had to carry the board on my own while almost the whole team was away for one reason or another. Some of those people have stepped out of their positions because since volunteering for the position they have realized they couldn't maintain the responsibilities and have stepped out of them.

As of right now we have four official Creation moderators. CleverYamanaka, Chris, Ame and Aaron. Chris is on a trial and is the freshest face to the team so like every new member they usually are always the first to jump onto things as they have stamina that hasn't been utilized. CleverYamanaka and Aaron in my personal opinion could both pick up their game a bit as Ame is on approved hiatus until the end of this month meaning we have three Creation moderators, so for this reason I think Clever and Aaron could be doing more to help out but I would not go as far to say either of them are below expectations. We usually work with five active Creation members and as of right now we have three, that's a blow.

Taking nothing away from Amy or any member of the Evaluations team, you're comparing apples to oranges when it comes to what each of them have to do. For Evaluations, topic matter can vary and although it can be taxing to read massive threads, it's also had to disprove that moderators are as thorough as they should be whereas with Creations it's painfully obvious when something is overlooked. On top of this, only in rare circumstances is an Evaluation Moderators verdict questioned, for Creation's on this site it's a regular battle between member and staff to come to an understanding of what makes something acceptable. That's the way it is and always will be.

Not to be 'that guy' or anything but that site at times practically hired anybody to be a moderator. Furthermore, getting something approved was a walk in the park and a lot of stuff has been allowed there that members aren't even brave enough to try here acknowledging how ridiculous it would be. So there's a lot of difference between moderating something and slapping an approval on it. There are quite a few people willing to take up a position here but the staff as a whole doesn't necessarily consider those people to be suitable candidates and because of this we remain in short supply.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated, thanks.
In summary Dino, I think you have the basis of a legitimate arguement. We need to pick things up and Cookie Monster and myself are trying to do that with recent former moderators returning and a lot of potential new blood but things don't happen overnight. Shitting on the staff members won't make them feel any more obligated or motivated to post on your applications, I cannot pull anything positive from any of your posts besides from remarks you've made about Amy which was just used to put down the Creations team even more.
I mean, Nuclear says we just lock topics when people make negatives comments about us, I ask you. What other purpose does this topic have now without having people trade more heated words? I've given it way more attention than I wanted to by writing this reply because as I said I think Euphoria said enough to conclude it. Your message is acknowledged by the administration of this forum and we're doing everything we can to resolve your concerns.
