And I am cool / Cool as the deep blue ocean A tall building was erecting itself till high into the sky, casting no shadow however, for it was midday and the sun was hanging exactly above it. It was a traditional Japanese building, luxurious till its last window, wall and door; this was expensive. It was a place where stars of the world gathered to escape paparazzi. However, it was also a place where Ninja gathered to escape their busy lives. Taking this into account, the manager of the Japanese Building, which was a Hot Spring Hotel, gave a fifty percent off for any Ninja regardless of country. Uzumaki Ophelia, however, didn’t need this sale. She had won two tickets for a weekend in that expensive hotel, all inclusive. She just showed the secretary her ticket and she was lead immediately to her room, which was, yeah take a guess, a suite. Ophelia had never seen anything like it; the lights sparkled beautifully in her eyes as she took in all the features of the apartment. Even though the exterior of the building was traditional, inside it was nothing like it; it was the exact opposite, actually. Highly modern with windows made of glass, a bathroom bigger than her own room, a kitchen so large it could feed an army and a bedroom so huge that ten people could sleep in there and have still enough space to toss and turn around.
The luggage boy left her suitcases in her room and excused himself, bowing. It was obvious that he had been eyeing her, taking in all her beauty and vividness of her features. She turned and looked at him to thank him for taking her suitcases even though it was his job. The boy blushed and mumbled something Ophelia couldn’t quite discern, and exited the room. The Uzumaki instantly darted towards the bathroom, took off her clothes and changed into a swimsuit, for she was uncomfortable being naked in a mixed gender bath. The hotel had many, many hot spring baths and saunas, but they were all gender mixed. Ophelia didn’t really know why, but the policy of the hotel was that everyone is equal and so everyone should enjoy the same baths. Because somebody might think that the women’s baths are better than the men’s, or the other way around and that would have given rise to arguments which the hotel tried very hard to avoid. This was a place of peace after all.
Ophelia grabbed a towel and covered her body with it as she ran down the stairs into the hot springs. She could have taken the elevator but she couldn’t wait to get into the hot water. She shoved the door aside; it was a typical Japanese door that moved sideways, and entered a hot spring. There were many people around, men and women alike and they all didn’t seem to be bothered by the presence of the other sex. Everyone was minding their own business. However, that changed.
The moment Ophelia Uzumaki stepped into the Hot Spring, eyes turned to see who was entering because of the noise the door made. And everyone stopped whatever it was that they were doing, and stared. They watched her as she gracefully walked past them, her hair dancing along with her steps, her whole being radiating serenity and loveliness. They gazed at her as she slowly let her towel fall onto a nearby chair, and for a moment they thought they would be granted a glance of her divine body, only to be slightly disappointed when they saw that she was actually wearing a two piece swimsuit. But not even that could keep them from looking at her, taking in her every curve as she entered the water with slow steps looking ever so graceful and elegant, like a princess.
Ophelia suddenly noticed the stares, and blushed a little bit as she looked at the people staring, something which made them gawk even more in awe only to realize shortly after that Ophelia noticed them staring. They looked away, obviously ashamed of their stares, minding their own business, but having forever engraved in their minds the picture of a natural beauty they had never seen before. The female let her body glide behind a large rock so she was a little bit separated from the other customers. She let out a sigh and let her head sink into the water until her nose, closing her eyes, her red hair spreading around her like a lake of blood.

After getting to the land of Hot water, Yoroi was taken to the hidden village, Yugakure. Wandering through the streets of the seemingly peaceful village, he wondered just how long such a peace would last. If war was to break out, this was one of the places that would be hit hard, for it was centered between the three great villages. Watching the friendly people around him, he could not help but think what would happened to them by the time the war reached them. Simply because the place had no military forces at all, the place would be utterly annihilated if the war got to take place here. Most of the people he saw right now would end up dying, while nothing of the village would remain. Just thinking about it made him rather sad, knowing that there was little to nothing that could be done about it. Hopefully, people like Kimiko would be able to do something about it, hoping that a thing like war would not show it's ugly head in such a peaceful place. Trying his hardest to shake the thought, his eyes caught on to a sign that pointed towards a local bath-house.
One of the main reasons as to why he had come stood in front of him, a public hot spring that was known as the pride of Yugakure. Being one of the most peaceful bath-houses in the entire country proved to Yoroi that this was something he could not skip out on. Hoping that the healing waters would be able to help soak and clean his wounds a bit, he wandered into the building. Renting a locker, swimming-shorts and a towel, Yoroi prepared himself to head on into the water. Putting all of his regular black clothing into the locker, it was time to soak for a bit. His appearance was one that most people found to be rather intriguing his white hair and green eyes drawing a fair bit of attention to himself. Next to that, the wounds he had sustained and the red markings beneath his eyes only furthered that fact. The sight of the other people that were soaking in the water was a welcome one. After the things he had gone through a little while ago, he could use the peace and quietness around him, allowing him to rest up a little bit as well.
When he walked closer to the water and placed his towel on a lone chair that stood in the shady corner, his eyes fell on a young woman that seemed like she was roughly the same age he was. She sure was pretty, though a lot of other people seemed to have their eyes on her at the same time. Yoroi was not really the kind of person that was good with women, the only ones he knew being Viera and Kimiko, people who were family to him, meaning it was not the same as a stranger. He liked people that had features most other people did not have, which was what had drawn him into a conversation with a Hyuuga when he noticed his strange eyes, what brought him to talk to Kimiko after seeing her raven-black hair and what drew his attention towards this girl and her red hair now. Chances were that she would not notice him, or spot his white hair and just look away again. It didn't really matter, he had come here to rest up a bit, and that was exactly what he was going to do.
As he sank into the water, both his back and his chest started aching quite a bit. The burn wound on his back was relatively large, running from the center of his back up to his right shoulder. The other one that was located at the dead center of his chest took the form of a cut, which was exactly what it was. Both of the wounds he had received were results of Kimiko's fire based ninjutsu. The pain of the warm water touching his wounds was quite powerful, enough to make him moan for a moment. Placing his hands together and closing his eyes, he performed one of the tricks he had learned back at the Fire temple, something Modoroki called Meditation. When done right, the user would be able to keep negative feelings and even pain under control, focusing on their surroundings and finding inner peace.

| The girl closed her eyes and dived her head completely into the hot water, letting it enter her every pore. It felt as of the water washed away all the dirt on her soul, and all her faults from her body, cleansing off her sins and mistakes, to create a new Ophelia, one that was without sin. She knew something like that wouldn’t be possible, but she still liked the idea of being flawless. Her thoughts drifted away for a second and just before she could actually fall asleep inside the water, she heard a person moaning in pain while the water surface was shaken. Someone had entered the hot springs, some male who was obviously in pain. Ophelia’s eyes darted towards the direction of the moaning man only to spot his body that was inside the water, for Ophelia’s head was still underwater. She noticed his wounds and narrowed her eyes. Where could a guy roughly her age get wounds like these, which by the way looked like fire wounds? Maybe his house burnt down; or he was a Shinobi. Ophelia sighed. She didn’t want to see another Ninja in her vacation place, for she was tired of talking about her job every day and every night. She needed a change and that was why she had come to the Hot Springs hoping that she wouldn’t encounter any familiar face, or anyone from her ranks. But she had obviously forgotten that this was a very popular place for Shinobi as well.
She tried to ignore the guy. She tried to go back to her sleep by tightly closing her eyes to shut out any thought or image of that boy. Her hands moved in a desperate move to shut out her own thoughts towards her ears as she felt that she would start screaming any moment now. Fuck. She was just too soft to let any person suffer. Lifting her head out of the water, she looked at the end of the room, looking for something that she could use to help the boy. Spotting a shelf, she jumped out of the water, too gracefully maybe which probably revealed that she was a Ninja as well, and grabbed two bottles. Then she got a glass and mixed these two, which created a water resilient, green crème. Taking the plastic glass back into the water, she approached the young man.
Ophelia noticed the many wounds and scratches he had on his body; these were some serious injuries, and she could only imagine how much the hot water hurt. She also noticed his silver hair. How curious it was. The girl hesitated for a moment. She didn’t even know this guy, why would she talk to him, let alone heal his wounds? Maybe he was from an enemy village. But would that even matter? Ophelia helped everybody, regardless if he was friend or foe. She cared for humanity as a whole, and not only the well being of her village.
She raised her right arm and softly touched the boy’s left shoulder as she was standing behind him. “Excuse me, but I couldn’t help but notice your wounds...Um, I got this crème that will fix them in no time, if you’re interested.” She said with a genuine smile on her face, her hand still on the silver haired boy’s shoulder. She tried not to let her whole weight lay down on him for she didn’t know where else he was hurt, and she also avoided any contact with the wounds so as not to cause him any further pain. Ophelia lifted the glass of green crème and showed it to the boy.

Deeply meditating as a means of pushing the pain away from him and keeping his mind from getting flooded by the thought of Kimiko and Toshiro, he tried to find a peaceful place inside of himself. It was hard to forget about what had happened with Kimiko, getting married to someone he did not even know so suddenly. If it had been the only shock, he would not even have been pushed into meditation as much, though the time he had spent with his sister to train had been the reason as to why he had received the wounds he had on his body right now. He had received one wound for being careless, the other because he had been unable to defend himself after his sister claimed that she would hurt him to the point of near death if it was what he wished, claiming that she had done things like that to her loved ones before. The sheer shock of it had shattered his defenses, receiving a wound to his chest and to his very soul. It was for that reason that even meditating only did so much for him, facing with the mental pain in exchange for blocking out the physical.
Feeling a gentle touch on his left shoulder, he turned to see the girl with the red hair, holding some peculiar green paste in a cup. He was not sure as to what it was, though according to the girl, it would be able to heal his wounds in no time, which sounded good to him. However, he was not one for accepting things from others when having nothing to give them back. Despite not knowing whether or not he should accept her help, he was glad that she was the one that had stood up to aid him. From the moment he saw her, he figured that she was the kind of person that would help out someone in need. She seemed like she was somewhat worried about him, even though Yoroi did not know what she was thinking when she offered to help him out. "I would like that very much, though I don't really know who you are, or where you're from. If you waste this stuff on me, you won't be able to use it yourself when the.. I don't know if I should" Yoroi said, halting himself before he brought the talk about war into the conversation. It was a rather depressing topic that was best left out for the time being.
Now that he was no longer meditating, the pain originating from his wounds seemed to amplify, stinging more then they did when he had gotten into the water. The scabs had most likely softened and let water into the wounds, letting the water clean the wound, inflicting a lot of pain onto the youth. Not being the picky kind, he was not above accepting help from a stranger, especially from the kind of stranger that seemed as nice as she did. "If you have some to spare, I won't say no. If it is all you have, i'd rather you keep it to yourself rather then having a stranger waste your supplies" he said eventually, figuring that she wouldn't offer such things to a stranger if she had nothing left after the amount she offered to him. Raising himself out of the water and sitting down on the edge of the pool, he sat himself down so the girl could help him out with his wounds if it turned out that she had it to spare. Besides, above the water, his wounds did not ache nearly as much as they did while submerged. That did not mean that the pain was gone, on the contrary, they just hurt a lot less then they did in the water, though they still hurt enough to keep him somewhat distracted.
Trying to figure out a way that would allow him to get to know her a little bit better whilst offering the same to her, the only thing he could really think of was to just tell her what his name was. "My name is Yoroi, what's yours?" he asked after sharing his name with the red haired girl. Wondering whether she was the kind of girl that wanted to hold on to secrecy, he figured that she was some kind of nurse or a medical Shinobi, even though he did not really know why. There was just something about her that seemed a little bit strange though, even though he could not figure out just what it was. Whatever it was, it didn't matter to him she had offered to help him out and that alone proved that she was the kind of person that could be trusted.

| The boy turned around and looked at her with his bright green eyes lined with a red stripe. The contrast was intense; crimson red looking into vivid green eyes, like a fire consuming an evergreen landscape. For a moment she was stunned but quickly pulled herself together when he started speaking, saying that she would need it a certain time in the future, most likely. She noticed that he stopped mid sentence and noted it in her mind, only to shove it far back to progress later. What was important now were his wounds. Ophelia listened as he kept saying that she shouldn’t waste it on a stranger and that she should only use it if she had more of that. Ophelia frowned comically. This guy was in terrible pain and he still didn’t accept her help. Maybe he’s just shy... she thought.
The Uzumaki slightly smacked the boy’s head so as to reprimand him for not taking her help. It was more of a loving gesture than a really scolding one, for the hit was very light and more like a pat than a hit. Ophelia treated everyone like that; she felt strangers were friends she just hadn’t met yet, so she made sure to treat everyone equally well. She also liked having people feel comfortable, for only God knew what they had been through in their lives. And Ophelia didn’t want to cause them any more suffering. “Baakaaa” she said laughingly, as she leaned in towards him, “of course I have more of that!” she lied, something the boy couldn’t possibly discern. She disliked lying, but this time it was for a greater good; he really needed this crème and she wasn’t going to let him moan in pain like that. As he sat on the edge of the pool, Ophelia tended to his wounds, still inside the water. She put her fingers into the green crème and started putting it onto his scars on his chest and forearms before she lifted herself up out of the water and walked behind him to cover the ones on his back. “My name’s Ophelia” she said, expecting he’d react surprised to her odd name, “nice to meet you, Yoroi!”
Having finished with the scars on the back Ophelia closed the crème and handed it Yoroi. “There. Put that on again tomorrow and the scars will vanish, magically!” she said and winked jokingly. But Ophelia wasn’t satisfied. She needed to know more about this guy. “So, Yoroi...Where are you from? How did you get these scars?”she said, probably a bit too eager than what was appropriate, but she couldn’t care less at that moment, for she wanted to know more about the boy with these peculiar green eyes.
Her mind was already taking in all the information she could gather from the boy, about his personality, his home country and even his job. And then, she remembered that he had stopped himself from saying something in mid sentence. She decided she’d ask him later about that. Meanwhile, Isobu growled. He was feeling uncomfortable even though he was inside water something he was deeply fond of. But he felt a stronger chakra signature nearby and sensed danger for Ophelia and eventually himself. Shi..no..bi...White...hair... he slowly said inside Ophelia’s head. The girl’s read eyes sprung wide open as she was surprised that Isobu would talk to her right now. She could feel his discomfort. Yoroi? She asked. Yee...s..
Her body didn’t move at all so as to avoid that Yoroi would notice anything, though she was sure that he could sense her enormous chakra capacity. Ophelia swallowed something imaginary that appeared to be stuck in her throat; should Yoroi notice that she was actually a Jinchuuriki, this could end very, very badly. |

It was without a doubt true that this girl was really nice, treating him as if he were her friend already, even though they did not know one another at all, something he considered to be quite funny. Smacking his head gently in the form of a joke, Yoroi smiled for the first time that day, the problems he took with him from home stinging more then the physical pain. Luckily, Ophelia was able to help him forget about those things for the time being, which was really a good thing. Explaining that she had more of the ointment, he figured that there would be no problem in accepting help from the young woman. The first thing she did was to apply the green paste to the wound on his chest, sending a cold shiver through his body. Having prepared himself for a good bit of pain once the paste made contact, the refreshing sensation was a welcome surprise. Ophelia's gentle touch was also quite welcome, figuring that she at least had medical training because she knew exactly what to do. She was way too gentle to just be another shinobi or civilian, that much at least was something he was sure of.
When she lifted herself up from the water, he looked in the other direction, still being a little bit shy about this new woman. By the time she located herself behind him and started working on the larger wound on his back, he felt good enough to respond to her. "It's nice to meet you too, Ophelia", Yoroi replied, even though he was not looking at her directly, which was probably the reason as to why he was being so open. When she tried to hand him the paste after finishing with his wounds, she told him that if he was to put it on again tomorrow, his wounds would vanish magically. Knowing that she was just joking about how things would vanish, he had to decline on the offer. "Oh no, I appreciate the offer, but there is really no need for it. I already feel a lot better because of you, and I don't want to use up all your stuff. Besides, even if I was to take it, I couldn't get any of it on my back anyway" Yoroi explained kindly. He truly appreciated the offer, he just couldn't accept it.
Despite his former thoughts, it seemed that the girl was quite open, asking him one question after the other as to how he had gotten his wounds and where he was from. Normally, people were not very interested in him, most people just staying out of his way once they realized that he was a descendant of the Kaguya clan. As far as Yoroi cared, he was born as a Kaguya, though he had none of their mannerisms. Having been raised far away from the clan, or any human for that matter, he had only recently started getting more civilized because of his sisters. There was not a whole lot he could do to repay her kindness, figuring that the one thing he could do was to answer her questions. "I'm from the Fire country, though I'm not really a Shinobi of Konohagakure. I am living in the village now because my older sister Kimiko wanted me to live with her, while my younger sister Viera can use some familiar faces around the villages. She's a scared kid, so it's really the least I can do" he explained, responding to Ophelia's questions to the best of his abilities.
"The scars are a bit touchy, but you helped me out, so I owe you that much. My older sister and I spar from time to time, though things went a bit too far this time. I don't really know what happened to her, though I guess something just snapped. This one on my chest was because of her sword, the one on my back was the result of escaping from a furnace technique. She's a really crafty fighter, that much is for certain, though she is an even better sister then a Shinobi. Thing is, I don't really know what happened..." he explained, falling silent after giving Ophelia the full explanation as to how he had received his wounds. Yoroi truly loved his sister a lot, something that only made his wounds and soul ache when he thought about what had happened. Having thought about it the entire time when he traveled to the land of hot springs, he had been unable to find an answer to the question. Shaking the thought, he figured that he should stop being sad in front of Ophelia.
As he looked at Ophelia and noticed a somewhat blank stare, he wondered if there had been something he said that bothered her, or if she had just gotten bored of his stories. It was true that he could sense her Chakra, though Yoroi was the kind of person that would not really care about that kind of thing at all. He knew for a fact that Kimiko had massive amounts of the stuff too, which was exactly why such a thing did not intimidate Yoroi much at all, even though it was very much out of the ordinary. As her eyes suddenly sprung open, he kept looking into her eyes, wondering if something was wrong with her. "Is something wrong?" he asked, hoping that everything was okay with the young woman.

| Yoroi kindly denied Ophelia offering him the crème. She could understand his decision; she just was not going to accept it. Frowning jokingly she put her hands on her hips taking a reprimanding stance once again. For a second she looked at him that way, appearing ready to hit him again, only to sigh shortly after and sit down next to him. With a movement of her hand that was supposed to show utter defeat, she closed her eyes and took on a feeble expression. “Oh, then I suppose it can’t be helped. I’ll just keep you hear till tomorrow to put it on myself!” she said, in a tone that was implying that what she had just said was equivalent to saying that the earth was round. She said it with such a tone of obviousness in her voice, that even she was surprised with her acting skills.
Ophelia carefully listened as Yoroi explained to her his origin, saying he was from the Fire Country. Fuck, he’s from Konoha? She thought, biting her lip. If he was a higher ranking Ninja, things could get pretty bad for her; maybe he would even kidnap her once he found out about her Bijuu. But Yoroi didn’t give off that impression. He looked rather nice, naïve some might say, though with the good meaning. He sounded like he loved his sisters, Kimiko and Viera, and was rather hurt that the older one had beaten him up so badly. So he is a Ninja...why else would he spar with someone this strong? She couldn’t help but notice the underlying sadness in his words, and something stung in her chest. She felt bad for him. It was sad truly that a relationship with someone you loved dearly could change so easily from one second to the other. How easily strangers became friends and then strangers again. The only difference the second time you were strangers being that whenever you saw them you either felt pain or deep discontent, based upon how your relationship with them had ended. What a sad, sad reality indeed. Ophelia tried hard to keep in touch with friends she had made, but she didn’t always succeed. Life just dragged her to different paths.
Ophelia, however, didn’t want to dwell further on the topic, not because she was disinterested, anything else; she was curious, even. Of course she wanted to know more about Kimiko and Viera, how they lived their daily lives, how Konoha was and the people. Their habits and traditions, what they ate there and what they did with their free time. But Ophelia felt that asking any further questions on that subject would have caused more unnecessary psychological pain to Yoroi, and she didn’t want that. She decided to leave her inquisitiveness for later, when he would have lighten up and the crème would have started making its wonders. The smaller cuts had already disappeared, while the two big ones on his chest and back had already shaped the crust. Good.
The boy had noticed her blank stare and asked if something was wrong. She quickly grasped herself and looked at him. “Oh yes, something is definitely wrong!” she said, grave serious. Her expression had changed into something darker and more professional, with all the severity of a feline ready to sink its claws into your soft skin, tearing it apart. “I’m starving! Let’s go grab something to eat.” She said and burst out in laughter that could melt pretty much any heart. The other guests looked over at her for a few seconds, taking in the scene before minding their own business again.

Going by what she said, she told him that she would just keep him in Yugakure until tomorrow, just so she could put on the remainder of the salve herself. It was a cute thing to say, especially because she seemed so cool under all of it. Some would think it weird that a stranger asked another stranger to stick around for the night for some additional treatment, though Yoroi thought that it was sweet. Smiling a bit, he just looked at the water, as well as all of the people that were still sitting around in it. "Well, if you'd have any place where I could stay, I wouldn't mind staying here until tomorrow. There are quite some things that I want to take care of before going back home to my family, though spending the night here won't be much of a problem. Thanks for doing this for me Ophelia, I won't forget it". He was not lying when he said that he would not forget the things she had done for him, nor would he forget what she looked like if they had to part ways soon.
When Ophelia sat down next to him, he wondered what kind of things were going around in her head. Yoroi had a lot of things mauling around in his mind, the incoming war, looking after his sisters, finding ways to become strong enough to be able to protect his loved ones and figuring out what his purpose was in life. Viera was the kind of person that seemed to be afraid of most things, though her sheepish smile made everyone, even the baddest of the bad refuse to hurt her, which was a good thing. As for Kimiko, she had the weight of the village on her shoulder, for she was Konohagakure's number one Shinobi now, aside from the Hokage himself of course. Being caught up in his own thoughts for a moment, he suddenly snapped back to the present. When he thought about what might be on the minds of his relatives, he noticed that Ophelia had shared next to nothing about herself.
"So what about you, you seem like you are some kind of a Medical Shinobi yourself. I know Yugakure does not have any military, so you're probably not from around here either. Next to that, I don't believe I have ever seen you around Konohagakure before, so I figure that you are either from Kumogakure or Kirigakure. Going by your complexion, you don't seem to share the darker skin that most people from the lightning country possess, so I think it would be a smart guess to say that you are a Kirigakure Shinobi. Be honest, how close am I?" Yoroi said, going by the things he had managed to pick up about her. He might have been a shy guy that did not really know what to say to her, though he was very good at figuring things out. Yoroi was a Shinobi, the younger brother of Konoha's great Sannin, this being what pushed him to become a better Shinobi, using the skills he had developed in the wilds and applying them to modern day situations, just like he did now.
Whether he was right or wrong, he liked puzzles, and Ophelia had put herself down to be the kind that was relatively hard to figure out. Having explained the reason as to why he believed that she was a Kirigakure Shinobi, he hoped that she would not be startled by him or something, having picked up that she tensed up a bit when he claimed to be from Konohagakure, though she smoothed herself out not much later. They were subtle things that were hard for most to figure out, but for someone who spent his youth hunting deer, fighting wolves, mountain lions, bears and stalked woodland critters, these minor changes were as bright as the sun to him. It was this kind of thing that helped him out on his missions, in fights and in his daily life, noticing in an instant if there were any vegetables smuggled into his food as a means of getting him to eat more healthy. Speaking of food, it seemed that Ophelia was hungry too, just like him. Hearing her laugh as she claimed that she was hungry, it brought a smile back to his face as well.
"Oh, alright. For a moment there, I thought that there was something wrong with you, though I am glad that it's not the case. I'm not really that well oriented around these parts, so if you know a good place where we could have something to eat, feel free to lead the way", Yoroi said, expressing his feelings towards having dinner and to how he was worried about her for a second. Knowing now that she was doing just fine, he was wondering what kind of food they would be getting here in Yugakure. Being a fan of pretty much any kind of meat, he was not into vegetables and the like. Thanks to Kimiko's "taming", Yoroi had learned how to eat with Chopsticks, knife, fork or spoon, even getting to like things such as rice, potato's and bread. Learning etiquette had been just as hard for him as mastering new forms of Ninjutsu, though he was certain that he would not stand out to much in a diner or a restaurant.

| Hearing that Yoroi needed a place to stay for the night, Ophelia remembered automatically the second ticket she had won at the carnival. She had planned to use it for herself some other time should things get that messed up that she couldn’t cope with, but disregarded quickly herself and needs, for the guy before her was injured and needed her help. Ophelia thought back to all the times she wanted to help people and they wouldn’t let her, because she was a ‘witch’. She couldn’t help them inside her village, because they were afraid of her. But now, here in Yugakure, where no one knew who she was, she felt free to take care of anyone in need. “I got another ticket, dear, so you can have a room” she said as she smiled, “I’ll give it to you later.”
After a second of silence Yoroi finally said something, just before she could ask about what he had stopped himself from saying. Ophelia was really eager to learn about him and his home, but most of all she wanted to know about the one thing he appeared to be keeping secret from her. She didn’t know if it was something personal that he didn’t want to share, because in this case Ophelia wouldn’t ask any further so as to not hurt his private space. However, she felt that it was something on a larger scale and the way he said it implied an event on a much larger level than just the personal one.
The boy had figured out that she was from Kirigakure. Ophelia’s façade upheld itself perfectly well, for she knew that a trained Shinobi would soon find out of her origin with just a stare, taking into account physical attributes. It was obvious that Yoroi had travelled a lot around the world to be reaching conclusions on people’s origin that easily. “Uh yeah, well, not quite.” She said, not sure if she should tell him that she was really a Ninja. She still was afraid that he would suddenly attack her or something, even though she had treated his wounds and helped him stay longer at the hotel. Ophelia had been fooled many times by patients, for many were just running to her with an injury most medics wouldn’t treat because they were criminals, and Ophelia treated them because they were humans. However, then, they would knock her out and rob her house. One time, they feigned a serious wound just to knock her out and sell her on the black market. She shook her head to forget about that memory and looked into Yoroi’s green eyes. They were so unique. “I’m from the Nagi Islands. They’re close to Kirigakure.” She said, not entirely lying, for she really grew up there before she moved to Kiri to receive her Shinobi training.
Ophelia stood up once he had told her that he was hungry too, took her towel and wrapped it around her body. Her wet hair hung down until her lower back, a mess of red gracing the white piece of fabric. She turned around to see if Yoroi was following her. “The Hotel has really, really good food. And meeeaaaaat. Do you eat meat? I hope you’re not a vegetarian.” She said, revealing her secret love for cooked flesh of any animal really, except for cats. She couldn’t eat cats; that was just disgusting for her. Although, one time, she had noticed that cats in her neighbourhood were disappearing. She didn’t pay much attention to it, as she thought that they had found someplace better. After a week or so she went to eat something from a fast food chain, and discovered an ear of a cast inside her burger. Needless to say, she called the health care that quickly shut down the fast food restaurant and did several tests on the other ones around. What a horrible memory. Poor kitties.
Walking out of the Hot Springs, Ophelia entered the cafeteria, and grabbed a table, sitting on one end of it. It was okay to eat with swimsuits, for the hotel wanted its customers to feel comfortable, so everyone could wear whatever they wanted, just not come naked. Anything but naked. The owners were somewhat hippies, apparently. The waiter came, dressed professionally, because they weren’t allowed to dress however they wanted so everyone could distinguish them from the colourful masses. “I’d like...a steak, rare” she said and looked at the waiter, who nodded. “Also, bring us a salad to go with the meat, and a wine. Oh, and some appetizers. Whatever the chef recommends.” Ophelia was talking with such ease, not ashamed at all that her chest was rather exposed in front of so many people, treating the waiter with such straightforwardness that it even surprised herself. “What will you have, Yoroi?”

The woman was very considerate, offering him a room of his own, which was honestly a lot more then he had anticipated. He did not really know what to say to her, figuring a mere thank you would not even get close to making up for all the things that she had already done for him. Then again, she did not really want to share a lot about her personal life with him, even though Yoroi was telling her pretty much everything she asked for. During their entire conversation, all he had managed to figure out was that she was called Ophelia and hailed from the Nagi Islands. "I see... well, if you don't want to share anything with me, that's fine. And thanks again for your kindness" he said rather carelessly. If Ophelia felt like keeping secrets, then Yoroi really could not be bothered with trying to figure her out. He knew that the things he had figured out so far struck something, even though she did not want him to know anything about her outside of her name. For now, he would just follow her like a puppy to see where she wanted to have dinner, wandering ever closer to a restaurant where Ophelia sat down.
It seemed weird to him that they could just walk in in their swimming outfit, though he saw that the vast majority of the other people that had come to the place for dinner had nothing more then swimming trunks or bikini's on too, making him feel a bit more at ease. Shortly after sitting down at the table Ophelia had chosen, a waiter walked over to their table, ready to take their order. Watching and listening as she ordered a large amount of different things from the menu, which astonished him quite a bit. He thought he was among the few people that could eat like a beast and still remain skinny, something he had obviously been wrong about. When she asked him what he wanted, the realization hit that all the things she had ordered was only for her, that he had to order his own food. Silently laughing for a bit, he could not help himself around someone like Ophelia. There were certainly things she was hiding, though it was because of things like this, the way she treated the waiter as if she knew him already that proved to him that she was a nice person. He would not change his opinion of the girl just because she was not entirely honest with him.
Now that they were no longer in the pool, things such as her female form became a lot more clear to him, despite having seen her before. To meet someone who was both as beautiful and kind as she was, well, that was something that did not happen a whole lot, especially not with Yoroi. The only other women that were both nice and pretty were his sisters, Viera and Kimiko. Kimiko had taught him a lot of Konohagakure's etiquette, having learned the names of a lot of different kinds of food he liked. Things like Donburi, which was basically a rice bowl with vegetables and a sweet sauce. Yakitori was grilled chicken, stuck on a stick of bamboo so that the one eating it could bite it right off of it's stick. The green tea was considered to be purifying, cleansing the body of impurities that were digested along with food. Next to that, steak was his favorite kind of food, loving it when it was thoroughly baked and drenched in soy sauce. Yoroi enjoyed having food that he could cut into with his sharp, animalistic fangs, ripping flesh apart between his jaws. It was one of many things he held on to ever since he moved in with humans in Konoha, though he managed to hide such things quite well. When his time to order came up, he figured that he'd just order the first things that came to mind, money not being much of a problem.
"I'd like two well done steaks with soy sauce on the side... uhm, some grilled mackerel... yakitori.. donburi and... uhm... a bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen to open up with please. I'll also have a glass of water and some green tea to go with my food" he told the waiter, who looked at him as if he had just seen some kind of ghost or apparition. Yoroi had a very rapid metabolism, only more so because his body was very different from those of normal humans. He was a Kaguya, having the kind of body most medical shinobi still do not understand in the modern day and age. What he was did not matter, all he knew was that he was hungry and wanted something nice. It was slightly more expensive then the food ordered by the average human being, also being a lot more then a person would eat on his own, though that did not matter. Back in the village, he was a very active Shinobi, working hard for the benefit of his family. On the side, he had a lot of pull in the commercial district, hunting in the fire country for fresh meat, selling this meat to the butcher for some very solid prices, making both himself, his family and his friend the butcher wealthy people. As the waiter finally left the two young adults alone, they could continue where they left off.

| Ophelia was rather confused when the boy told her that it was okay if she didn’t want to share anything with him. For a moment she blankly stared at him, assessing the situation and trying to figure out what had made him think that she was holding back information about herself. Ophelia had answered his question about her origin, saying the truth for she really originated from the Nagi Islands; Kirigakure was just a place she lived now because of her job as a Shinobi. “You know, hun, I’m not withholding anything; you asked where I was from, and I told you.” She said, smiling at him to make him understand that her response wasn’t ill-intentioned or hiding any ulterior motives, which seemed to be haunting his mind, at least to Ophelia’s comprehension. The female couldn’t understand what would make him think, or better, realize that she was holding something back for she thought that she hadn’t given him any reasons to do so. But once again, everything was about perception. Sometimes, things she perceived as highly unlikely were more real than the oxygen she breathed everyday to keep her alive; and some other times, things she perceived as reality were nothing more than shadow plays bound to fade away in only an instant. Life was so fragile and its realities so ever shifting that nothing could be taken for granted. “Oh don’t mention it!” she silently said, referring to him thanking her for her kindness.
After taking Ophelia’s order, the waiter turned around to face Yoroi. The boy could eat like there was no tomorrow. He ordered a bunch of food which he was obviously going to eat alone, along with side dishes and appetizers. The only thing that appeared weird to her was the fact that Yoroi had ordered something to drink, even though she had ordered a wine. She reached the conclusion that maybe not everybody liked alcohol, at least not as much as she did, and thus he might be avoiding it. Ophelia was no alcoholic. Alcoholics went to meetings. She was a drunk; drunks went to parties. The Uzumaki was a heavy drinker for her age and surpassed the drinking abilities of some older men as well. When it came to any kind of intemperance Ophelia was one of the best. Anything that could turn into an addiction, she was trying out. And really anything could turn into an addiction. From collecting useless junk to taking actual drugs, Ophelia had tried the two severest; drugs and alcohol. It wasn’t like she was addicted, though, for she took pills or drank only when she wanted to, or in social settings, respectively. She had no problem constraining herself from taking pills or drinking excessive amounts of alcohol at any given time; sometimes she did just that. Lately, however, her alcohol and drug problem had moved up a notch for she was facing personal problems with Isobu, trying to hide the fact from other people, even her friends, that she was a Jinchuuriki. “Don’t you like wine?”
After a couple of seconds, Ophelia couldn’t hold herself back and just had to find out. Her curiosity had gotten the best of her. “So, Yoroi..... what is going to happen in the next few months, which you stopped yourself from saying, earlier?” she asked with a curious grin on her face, indicating that she was eager to learn about this ‘event’ or whatever it was that was going to happen. Ophelia would participate in pretty much anything. She was an adventurous young female who didn’t hesitate to take risks and do dangerous things, because she wanted to suck everything out of her life, until the very last drop. Ophelia had never been one of the religious ones, and thus she believed that everyone had only one life and this caused her to strive for the best she could find. It made her want to go forward and create her life just the way she wanted it to be. Being non-religious was not a result of lack of faith, no; the contrary even. Ophelia loved the idea of having several lives, being born again, karma and all these religious beliefs that were characteristics of a creed in the Earth Country. She actually wanted to believe that all this was true, but scientific research had led her to the conclusion that there was no god, or soul or any other higher being that ruled over their lives and destinies. She couldn’t accept a god who controlled her life, past present and future all inclusive. After all, she believed that religion had only been created to stop the poor from murdering the rich.
“Say, Yoroi, are you religious? I mean, do you believe in God, or a higher being or anything like that?” she asked, placing her head on top of her hands, which had formed to something like a small shelf of sorts, while the waiter served their dishes. She took on an amused look, anticipating the young man’s reply, giving him a half smile. |

"I know, it's just that you.. never mind, it doesn't really matter" Yoroi said, quitting mid sentence. It was rather obvious that she did not want to discuss things such as her possible career as a Shinobi, medical nin or whatever she might be. Yoroi decided that he'd let it rest, respecting her decision not to talk about such things. As it turned out, Ophelia already moved on to the next subject, telling him that it was all okay and that he would not have to worry about it. Again, she was being way too kind to a stranger that could turn out to be some kind of psychopath at the end of the day. For a moment, things were silent between them, wondering what she was thinking about during that time. Luckily for him, he did not have to spend a whole lot of time thinking about it, seeing as she asked him why he did not want any wine, asking if he perhaps disliked wine. "I'm not really sure, i've never really had any. I learned that people that drink lose reaction time, basic perception and.. well.. look stupid when they get drunk. I'd rather just drink some water", he explained to her. He thought that it was rather funny that Ophelia was the drinking type, hoping that she would not drink too much.
"Have you ever had Tonkotsu Ramen before? it's really good. Look here, it's got chicken and pork meat, vegetables, soy sauce and sesame seeds and everything. Would you like to try some?" Yoroi asked when a bowl of his favorite ramen was brought. Placing his spoon into the ramen and filling it up well, he blew at it, making sure she would not burn her mouth while he held it out a bit, allowing her to just put it into her mouth and have a taste. He knew that one was to eat Ramen with chopsticks, though it seemed more refined to have her taste it off of a spoon, knowing that letting someone eat from your chopsticks was against etiquette and was supposed to bring bad luck, something Yoroi did not need right now. In case she had not had the privilege of eating fancy food like he had ordered, he would be all to happy to have her taste some too. When the remainder of his food was brought to his table, he could tell that there were a lot of people that would love to have a bite too, though they could not have any.
Yoroi had learned that the world was a rough place where people were all too happy to be freeloaders, yet did not have the decency to do the same thing for others when they were in their situation. More or less ignoring the question she had asked, he shoved his chair close enough to Ophelia to sit right next to her. Yoroi was having a really good time with the girl he had just met, something he did not want to screw up by talking about the impending war just yet. The thought of war coming to a nice and peaceful place like Yu no Kuni was depressing, so he quickly switched his mind back to the food, breaking his chopsticks apart and nodding at Ophelia while he did so. Back in Konoha, he had spent a lot of time trying to get better at eating with chopsticks, something that took him a solid month before he fully mastered it. He would only eat his ramen with chopsticks though, leaving the rest of his food to his two best friends, Fork and Knife.
"You should try some of these things I ordered, the high class of Konohagakure eats this kind of stuff all the time. These are called Yakitori, they are pieces of chicken stuck on a bamboo-stick and dry-baked above an open fire. This is fried mackerel, something they probably had back on the Nagi Islands, seeing as it's the kind of fish you only catch out in the ocean. This bowl over here is Donburi, cooked rice with vegetables and a lovely sweet sauce. As for the steak, I can tell that you have your own, but have you ever tried it with Soy sauce?". Crawling out of his shell a bit, Yoroi always got extremely excited when it came down to food. It had been one of his most favorite times of the day when he got to have dinner, loving it when Kimiko cooked for him. Having tried a large amount of different dishes in the month that he had spent with her, he could not imagine life without it. He would, however, not eat until Ophelia had tried at least one bite of every piece of different food he had in store for her. Like Kimiko had done for him, so did he want to enlighten her with this kind of divine food.
"To tell you the truth, I am not really a religious man, though I go see the people at the Fire temple quite often. One of the men there is my god-father, even though I just recently met him. While I don't really believe in everything they believe, I do however believe in their teachings. I believe that one who does good things in life will receive the same, that those who follow the teachings of Buddha will be able to find enlightenment in dark times. So if you ask me whether or not I believe in gods, i'd have to say no, but if the question is if I believe in what the people of the temple are trying to teach me, then yes, I do.". He explained, answering Ophelia's question as truthful as he possibly could. It was a bit of a lecture he had just given her, though he wanted to make sure that he got to bring his point of view through to the girl.

| The boy seemed very excited about food. He was soon ranting about various kinds of foods, informing her what they ate in Konoha. He slid next to Ophelia, a gesture she received as weird. Slowly, she moved a few centimeters away, not because she didn’t like him, but this sudden proximity was making her feel uncomfortable. Ophelia was really a very physical person, as she had proven earlier by smacking the Kaguya, but their bodies weren’t close. She had just extended her arm; in this situation Yoroi was violating her private space, though of course unknowingly. She quickly disregarded that thought as she just smiled and tried to forget it. Looking at all the food they had ordered, Ophelia started slicing her steak in half, the fresh blood flowing out of it and onto her dish. You could see her eyes sparkling. Yummy. Just as she was about to take the first bite of the steaming hot piece of meat, Yoroi held a spoon of ramen in front of her face, indicating for her to taste it. She looked at the spoon at Yoroi and at the spoon again, an expression of disbelief in her eyes. In order not to appear rude, Ophelia swallowed the ramen only to find that it was really good. “Oh wow, now that’s something else” she said and looked with big eyes at Yoroi. This guy knew how to eat.
Seeing her excitement, Yoroi continued introducing other foods which were usually eaten by Konoha’s elite class. Ophelia hadn’t really eaten something like that so she decided to try the chicken. And she liked it. The female often ate chicken, for it was her favourite type of meat. She thought it was much nobler than pork or cow. This time however, she longed for a blood drunken steak, so she had ordered that instead. Sipping down her third glass already, Yoroi introduced quite another dish, which was however made of fish. She could smell the stench till up her nose. Even though having grown up in the Nagi Islands, Ophelia disliked fish. She hated it like nothing on earth. It probably was the only thing she hated in the world; cooked fish. And this was probably not even a characteristic of her personality, but rather one of the Sanbi. The Sanbi considered all sea creatures to be his children and seeing one of them lying cooked on a plate to be eaten by anyone enraged him like nothing else. And this time was no different. The Sanbi suddenly awakened and rampaged inside Ophelia, screaming and hitting against its chains that kept the girl just a step from insanity. Her body heated up as she suddenly felt a cold rush going over her spine. She needed to visit the bathroom.
“Um, I don’t like fish. Excuse me.” She said as she slowly stood up and exited the restaurant, having in mind the Hot spring. She returned to the hot waters where she had left her bag and pulled out a pill which she instantly swallowed in the girl’s restrooms. She relaxed for a moment as her irises dilated and returned to the table. Meanwhile she was numb to the Sanbi’s rampage and it gave up for it was no use anymore. Ophelia returned to her table, sitting again on her chair next to Yoroi. Her steak was still steaming hot; just the piece she had already cut had cooled down and frozen. It couldn’t be eaten anymore. Excited that she was going to have a bite of her much loved food, she cut off another piece of blood drunken meat and directed her to her mouth while Yoroi answered to her previous question about him being religious. Ophelia nodded while she swallowed without chewing her meat forgetting for a second the etiquette and turning into a somewhat uncivilized being. Ophelia just loved food and when she was very hungry she couldn’t hold herself back from eating like an animal. Times like these the inner beast came rushing forward and consumed her eating behaviour.
“Do you want some?” she said and picked up a new fork or Yoroi, holding oit a piece of bloody meat when he was done with his beliefs. “Oh by the way, I got you your ticket thingy” she said as she handed it over to him. She looked a last time at the ticket for it was intended for her second vacation but she quickly forgot about that for the Kaguya’s injuries were much more serious. |

Delighted at the fact that Ophelia seemed to like the ramen, he witnessed as she tried some different kinds of food too. He liked it when people tried out different things, especially when they liked it too. With Ophelia actively trying out his food, he started digging in to his Ramen, picking the noodles out with his chopsticks, bringing them to his mouth and tasting the nice salty taste that was mixed with the taste of chicken and pork. As it turned out though, she did not like fish very much at all, looking like she was about to throw up at the mere sight of it. To be honest, it was not Yoroi's favorite type of food either, though he had chosen to get some to add some different flavors to his meal. It was the same reason why he had chosen to order food that included vegetables, the kind of food he disliked most, but learned how to eat. Leaving the table all of a sudden, he figured that she actually had to throw up or something. Feeling bad for causing such a thing, he made sure to eat the mackerel in one massive bite, crushing it to paste between his jaws and swallowing it down, just in case she would want to come back to the diner.
"Something is wrong here. She seems to get sick to her stomach from fish, spends her time in the water and has a chakra capacity well exceeding my own. If she is not a Shinobi, I wonder what she might be..." he thought to himself while he worked through his food. For someone who came from a place like the Nagi islands, it seemed particularly strange that she got this sick from the smell and sight of fish. As far as he knew, the selling and catching of fish was the main source of income for such island groups. Giving it some thought as he went through his food, he eventually came to the conclusion that such a thing would not really matter a whole lot, seeing as he would probably never see her again once he left Yugakure. The minutes went by rather slowly as Yoroi felt like Ophelia was not going to be coming back. Having already gone through the majority of his food, there were only a couple of bites left when he heard footsteps right outside the door. Yoroi was rather surprised when he saw that she returned to the table in a fairly normal pose, even though he could not tell whether she had actually gotten sick or not anymore. It did not really matter now, she was back and that was all that mattered.
Moving through what little food he had left, it seemed that Ophelia had managed to get her appetite back, which was a good thing to him. Digging into her food like an animal, she reminded him of himself when he was still living out in the woods of the fire country, before Kimiko had been able to teach him manners and etiquette. As she had promised, she flashed the ticket out for him to have, allowing him to get a room of his own. Taking the ticket from her with a smile, he ate the last of his food and got up from his seat. Looking at the ticket, he thought about the girl for a bit, wondering if it would really be okay for him to accept it like that. Taking out the required amount of money and placing it upon the table, he put the ticket back on the table. "Actually, I still have some things that need to be taken care of in Yugakure. I promise I will be back tomorrow for that treatment, so please hold on to that ticket for yourself, just in case you'd ever want to go on vacation again. So, see ya" he said with a gentle smile on his face. With that, he walked out of the door. Just in case she felt like following him, he made sure that she would not be able to.
Jumping onto the roof with unrivaled speed, he disappeared out of sight in the blink of an eye. After a few minutes of moving at immense speeds, he arrived at a small piece of woodland in the rural areas of Yu no Kuni. Pushing some chakra into the soles of his feet, he walked up the tree to find a solid branch he could lay himself down on. Finding a nice thick branch, he had found a place to sleep for the night. Because it was still not dark out, he would first scout the area and gather some wood to create a fire for himself, keeping wild animals away by the time he'd go to bed.

| Yoroi took the ticket for a second and looked at it only to put it back down on the table, along with some money which was obviously meant for the food he had ate. Oh boy, Ophelia wasn’t going accept this. While he was speaking, saying that he had matters to attend to in Yugakure, Ophelia had stood up, grabbed the money and her ticket, and came so close to Yoroi, they were only centimeters apart. Feeling absolutely comfortable with her position, Yoroi was looking away as he explained his plans, and then Ophelia acted. With a swift motion of her left hand she pulled on the strap of Yoroi’s swimsuit away from his belly, and let the money and ticket drop in, while looking deep into his green eyes. The money and ticket wouldn’t however fall towards the boy’s more private areas, but be stuck by the strap between his belly and swimsuit; much like the way you paid a stripper. Ophelia would then smile with a sense of self-satisfaction and look amused as Yoroi tried to handle the odd situation. “Oh, hun, you’re not going anywhere.” She said with a tone of devilishness in her voice as she sharply looked at him, joking of course, but feigning it that well that even herself believed it. Leaning back again to her former position, the Uzumaki started walking towards her seat. “I can’t trust you coming back tomorrow, and I won’t let you leave with these wounds, hun. So I guess you’ll just have to stay here. And please, the dinner’s on me. Ah ah ah, no talking back.” She casually said as if she was explaining to him that the sun sets in the west and rises in the east. She did not grace him with another look and instead continued eating her bloody steak, with ore etiquette now that she wasn’t that hungry anymore.
Once the boy exited the room, Ophelia folded in two, more like she left her shoulders hang and hunchbacked. It was as if a weight had been lifted. She sighed. It was really hard keeping secrets from a person who is as sharp as this. He seemed to notice everything about her, taking in every little detail others would have deemed unimportant. But that was of course because he was a Ninja. Ninja were trained to notice even the smallest things, even if Ophelia was oblivious to many things. Though her obliviousness affected only herself for she never noticed when people were staring at her in awe. Or rather, she noticed, but always thought that they weren’t staring at her, but at someone walking behind her or next to her. She could never imagine to be the target of any admiration from anyone. But this guy. This guy was weird, in all the right ways. He was thoughtful and kind, and even though he was from Konoha and she was from close to Kiri, he still did not think ill of her or tried to attack her or kidnap her. He didn’t even notice the Bijuu inside her, or so she thought; at least he hadn’t made any remark about it. “You’re odd, Yoroi, really odd.”
Having finished her food she stood up from the table and was lead by a luggage boy to her suite. He was like her personal body guard. Like she needed one. It was more likely that the luggage boy needed a body guard to protect him from her, rather than the other way around. At any rate, he couldn’t know the danger he was bringing himself into because he was together with Ophelia, who could be taken over by th Sanbi at any given time and erupt like a volcano, leveling anything in its path. The female smiled at him as they reached the suite to make all the bad thoughts go away. The boy locked her room up for her and handed her the key, bowing deeply before leaving after hearing the much anticipated “Thank you”. Ophelia ventured inside and closed the door.
She looked at all the luxury around her. She wasn’t used to this. But she didn’t need it, either.
The emptiness of the room consumed her as she broke down to the floor and cried. [Exit] |
