Raiton Prodigy

Lightning, one of the most destructive elements out of the original five, known for it's ability to pierce through almost every defense put up against it. Kumogakure was one of the villages that specialized in the lightning element, just like how Kirigakure was known for it's mastery over water and Konoha for fire. This was what everyone knew about the lightning element, though very few knew how to actually control it in a way that would allow it to do more for the user. Over the years, Yoroi had used lightning to enhance his Shikotsumyaku, increasing the speed and cutting power of his finger bullets, using it to increase the cutting power behind his bone blades and even enhancing his punches with the kind of power that allowed him to punch through a human being if he had to. Standing in the center of his regular training spot in the forest, Yoroi pondered on the various ways in which he could potentially increase the output of his lightning release.

As a Shinobi, there was only so much Yoroi knew about the lightning element, knowing only that there was a lot more he could do with it than he did right now. The things he could do with it now were simply means of increasing the output of his damage, proving to him that the lightning element was used primarily for it's destructive and piercing force. When he tried to learn more about Sage techniques and it's background, he had seen a book that explained to him how the various elements could be used to do different things than what was known. How lightning could become a vibrating force that could greatly enhance the cutting power of weaponry beyond that of normal lightning based ninjutsu, how it could create bright, blinding lights and even speed up the synapses to make someone faster in terms of speed and reflexes. For the time being, there was only so much he could do with his lightning element, something he wanted to strengthen through practice.

Channeling lightning chakra into his fist, he picked one of the targets he had made from logs and twigs, firing bullets of lightning powered bone towards it. Upon making contact, the bullets had such a high velocity that they simply pierced through the structure and burrowed into the large rocks behind it. Even there the bullets did not stop, as there were small bullet sized holes in the ground behind the target and the rock, showing just how much power his lightning enhanced attacks packed. Simply firing piercing bullets at an enemy was enough to kill most lesser targets, even some of the stronger ones if they were not careful. It showed how versatile the element was, even though it was known to do only two things really well, pierce and electrocute. In time, he hoped to become skilled enough as a user of the lightning element to be capable of figuring out multiple purposes for it, putting himself ahead of the rest in terms of using the lightning element.

With this thought in mind, he set up the next couple of training dummies, these having more appendages that acted as limbs. The next exercise was simple too, increasing the cutting power of the bladed protrusions sticking out of his skeletal structure. As a Kaguya, he had no need for specially made chakra metal weapons to channel his chakra into his weapons, this in itself being what made him stand above most weaponry users. Using his quick moves, he sliced the make shift limbs off of the dummy in a simple strike, the lightning natured chakra making short work of the wooden defenses. Utilizing more of his speed, he dashed between the targets and sliced through one dummy after the other, thinking of them as enemy Shinobi he would have to cut down during the war. It was a thought that helped make his training exercise more realistic. Feeling the lightning chakra pulse through his skeletal structure, the bones retracted back into his body as the remaining parts of the dummies fell down in shambles.

With the completion of yet another training, Yoroi started feeling more drawn towards his lightning element than his other two elements, water and fire. Every element he owned was a useful one to him, though as a Taijutsu user, his lightning release was the one that he truly wanted to gain mastery over. It was for that reason that he decided to dedicate at least two weeks of training specifically to his lightning release mastery. In his mind, he imagined himself mastering the element in a matter of days, though things were never truly that easy in life. There was no way to tell how many things might step out of the shadow and into the light, requiring that it be dealt with first. Still, he still had two weeks of vacation left that he would use as a means of increasing his mastery.

Raiton Master

With the sound of thunder, a lightning bolt crashed through the treeline, leaving a bright light in it’s wake. At it’s point of origin stood the white haired Shinobi from Konohagakure no Sato, Yoroi Kaguya, the white dragon. A week ago, he had made the decision to focus more on his skills that centered around the use of lightning release. Since the start of the week, he had been rapidly progressing as always, being true to his reputation as being a young prodigy that excelled at three basic elements, was well versed in Taijutsu and even held powers fabled to belong to the ancient sages. Even though the latter was not exactly true, he had been in the process of learning how to use the power of the sages, only wielding a fraction of that power at the moment. Though he had been picked to become a Sage, the young man was not yet ready to wield such power, for his mind was still troubled with large amounts of anger and frustration that were born from daily life. One of the things that bothered him was the fact that Kimiko had, in his eyes, chosen between the two men in her life, these being her boyfriend and her brother. Unfortunately for the young Shinobi, he had not been the one that became her most important person, something that troubled and angered him to no end. To him, Kimiko was the most important person in his life, having no one else to spend his time with, for she was his only friend and only relative in the entire world. It was something Kimiko was fully aware of, but chose not to take to heart in the way he had hoped she would.

Not even a month ago, his sister had told him that family was supposed to love and help each other unconditionally, something he agreed to. He was her family while Toshiro was still just the boyfriend in the story, yet she loved someone else more than her own brother, and that was something he simply could not handle. Chopping at a vertical log with a simple blade of bone, he wanted to get some of his frustration out through exercise and venting chakra in violent bursts. This however did not work much at all, for whenever he thought about it, he pictured Kimiko and Toshiro kissing like they had done in front of him once, bringing out the very worse in him as his chakra seemed to resonate with his anger. Releasing small bolts and sparks of lightning natured chakra from all over his body, he felt like yelling at the world over his misfortune. In his anger, a surge of chakra went through his blade that caused it to vibrate as it left his hands. Flying through the air, it passed through several trees and a solid piece of rock before it eventually stood still in the ground as it’s chakra had run out. Not realizing what he had done at the time, his anger made way for confusion, wondering what had just happened to add so much speed and power to a mere blade. The sheer penetrative force of lightning chakra had always been a considerable one, though even that paled in comparison to what had just happened.

Retrieving the blade from where it had landed, he peeked through the holes that had been made by the bony projectile, amazed by it’s clean point of entry and exit, not leaving as much as a splinter behind. Whatever it was, it had aroused his interest and managed to push away his angry state of mind by replacing it with one of intrigue. Picking up the bone, it seemed that it had not even sustained any damage, feeling a faint vibrating echo when his skin touched the bone. That was when it hit him, the power of lightning chakra being forced to vibrate had been the cause of it’s speed, penetrative power and unaltered trajectory as it passed through obstacles in it’s path. It was something he had read about once when he was getting used to living in a crowded village filled with convenience. In one of his books, he had been reading about things such as electric toothbrushes that vibrated to make it easier for people to clean their teeth, blades that vibrated at a certain frequency to cut bread or even wood at higher frequencies and power outputs. Next to that, he had even heard stories from boys who claimed that women used some sort of vibrating plastic rods to pleasure themselves, though that just seemed weird to him, so he chose not to believe that part. It all made perfect sense to him, though the one thing that struck him as being hard was trying to actually get his chakra to resonate in the weapon and cause the vibration he wanted for it. Trying several times to recreate what had happened by accident, he tossed away the older weapon.

Maybe the problem was that he could not channel it into external objects yet, meaning that the weapons he used had to be internal. It was a flaw, though this was just for the sake of training. Once he truly got the hang of it, he could learn how to apply it to weapons that were not or no longer attached to his body. Focusing on the earlier occurrence of vibration formed through lightning chakra, Yoroi tried to make this phenomenon happen again. Going with the same kind of idea, he made a bone grow from his skeletal structure, rising out of his wrist. Channeling his lightning chakra, he altered it to buzz at a certain frequency, though just keeping it going was hard enough without moving or actually striking any targets. When he struck the log with his blade, it seemed like the vibration disappeared on impact, only cutting smoothly for a moment after which it just stopped all together. It was all highly frustrating, knowing that no matter how calm he was, he just kept failing at it. Taking a deep breath, he pushed out the thoughts about Kimiko, Toshiro, Viera and Ophelia. Pushing everything out of his mind, everything was blank inside of him. Closing his eyes, he focused all of his attention on the blade of bone, the vibrating chakra and the log in front of him. In one fluid strike, the blade cut through most of the log, though it still lacked the power to move through it entirely. Even though it had not been what he had hoped just yet, it was already a big leap in the right direction and that was quite enough to keep him from dropping out on this training and working on something that felt more rewarding.

After several tries, the bone finally started buzzing in a steady manner, no longer troubled by sudden surges or shut downs due to an irregular flow of lightning chakra. Holding the blade for a moment to see if everything was running smoothly, it was time to put this new manner of chakra usage to the test. With normal lightning chakra, Yoroi still had to apply a lot of force to his weapons in order to have them run through their target, leaving a messy cut too. With his training log standing in front of him, Yoroi looked at the shallow cuts that had been made by his immature use of the technique. Frowning slightly, he hoped that the next time, it would prove to be worth the trouble he had gone through to make this kind of chakra control happen. As a few hours passed him by, it was already getting dark out in the woodlands, making it relatively hard for him to see everything as clearly, in turn making it hard to continue training. Luckily for him, most of this training could be done from a single position, having to only adjust his lightning chakra ratio every now and then. Locking his eyes on his target, he raised his arm while making some minor adjustments to the chakra that flowed in and from the blade to make sure it had the amount of power needed to do the job. Striking at the log, it was like a hot knife going through butter, cutting with barely any resistance at all as the bone blade slipped through the wood. Coming out on the other side from a fairly gentle swing, the added vibration chakra caused it to make a clean and linear cut as the log fell down in two pieces.

Attacking several other logs after that, his skill at maintaining the flow of vibrating lightning chakra became a lot easier as time passed and more attempts were made. After trying for about forty times in a row, everything went by default, little to no thought going into the formation of the vibrating chakra ratio as it all seemed to just happen by itself. This was normal to the boy, for every human being eventually mastered what they were working on. In Yoroi’s case, this always happened a lot sooner than it did with the basic Shinobi, something that had contributed to him racing through the Shinobi ranks at such a high pace. Marveling at what he had just done when he pushed Lightning release to the next level, he knew that it was still too soon to celebrate.  There was a lot more practice to be held that involved much harder concepts, namely the firing of projectiles infused with vibration chakra. If he could make his blades cut through defenses like wood and stone with such ease, he could not even imagine the amount of penetrative power and speed his ranged techniques could pack when mixed with this new combat use for Lightning chakra. Forming small projectiles in his hands, he applied the same formation of vibration chakra to it before firing them through the targets. While some held on to their stored chakra, others lost their charge and fired with normal power. For the rest of the evening, he kept trying the same routine until this too stuck in his skull, for that was what he needed in order to truly master this new power.
