Akimaru wandered in the dark depths of his mind. Well, hardly dark. All he could see was red. It was in different shades. From ox-blood, to candy red. From warm to dark reds. But red, in any form, only meant one thing to him. Anger. And that was the primary emotion of his day. Anger. He had woken up in another one of his bad moods, for no reason. It had to be one of his worse tantrums. He was shaking with anger at himself, for no reason. Of course, not having a reason to be angry only made him more angry at himself, which wasn't exactly helping.

Badly, this anger was developing. Developing into a much worse emotion, bloodlust. He wanted to resolve his anger. He wanted to kill. His heart, mind and concious all told him to stop and think, but his anger overruled them all. Sweating ice cold droplets, Akimaru embrace his bloodlust. He allowed the dark emotion to swirl all around his body, until it persuaded him over to it's way of thinking. An evil smile etched upon his face, Akimaru knew his internal conflict was over.

He had made his decision. He was in quite a quiet area, out of the way. He had a headband on, so people knew he was a ninja. A ninja from the village of Konohagakure no Sato. Through his bloodlust, Akimaru felt pride, but it didn't last long. His anger pained him, and told him there was no need for other emotions. Only anger, only bloodlust. Only the need, to kill. Akimaru didn't even understand why he wasn't scared, or upset anymore. He was just so angry, there was no physical room in his body to feel anything else.

That was when Akimaru thought more into his decision. He needed to filter through who was worthy of killing. He automatically crossed out his family in his mind. Then Lilium, and others he knew, Xerxes and the canine-genin. Deciding not to kill anyone from Konoha or any civilians, that only narrowed it down to other village's ninja. Akimaru wondered how likely he was to come across one around here. "here". Where exactly was that? Akimaru looked around, but couldn't really take anything in.

He didn't care. If he had to search high and low for someone who would fit his moral criteria of killing, he would find them. "It can't be that hard to find a ninja not from Konoha." Akimaru thought to himself, arrogantly. It was as if in his mind, the upcoming battle had already been won. But that would not help him, for it hadn't even yet begun. Akimaru searched anxiously, knowing he must find someone soon.

There was plenty to be done in the land of Kumogakure. In fact, too much one would say. the work was spread so thin that even he, a Jounin, was bring put to work hand delivering messages through out the shinobi world with questions regarding the past events and the opportunity to form a meeting of the Kages in order to find a way to resolve this world wide crisis. Granted it was considered an S-ranked mission because the failure on any part of his would result in the miscommunication between an entire village, but in any case, he still felt that it was a bit lame that he would be used as a messenger boy or a mail man more then a shinobi in a time like this. He justified these missions with the simple fact that he as very fast and could get the job done in a timely manner, however running across the entire continent wasn't necessarily something he wanted to do himself.

He was stopped on many occasions. As one could imagine everyone was quite edgy now-a-days but he carried the Raikage's seal with him that more of less granted in access anywhere. Any mal-action while inside of the village while moving under the Raikage's command would most certainly mean war and he was sure that he was being watched at all times. He had people insist that they deliver the letter, but he knew it was best that he do it personally.

While he couldn't get inside the Kage's building he was able to place it in a little slot marked "urgent" that slid down a shoot to god knows where. But at this point, he assumed that his mission was over and he could get too his next target; Sunagakure. It would be the last place he would have to go before he could finally head home, and seeing as though it was in the middle of a desert country he wasn't too enthused about going. The sooner he got it done, the sooner he could leave for home, he kept telling himself.

Outside of Konoha's walls he sprinted, jumping from tree to tree as he navigated the forest, the moment he got into a clearing BAM! He ran head on into another individual that by chance had been out here. Apparently the gleam of the sun from the clearing was enough to throw him off and he was moving to quickly to come to a complete stop in time. He turned and rolled through the grassy clearing that marked the end of the forest. As the sprung up and rubbed his head gently he looked over to the other person, who was apparently a shinobi of the leaf by his head band, and said,

"Yo! Sorry about that, was moving a bit too quick and didn't see ya."

Little did he was just aggravating the dark condition of this individual...

As Akimaru was travelling slowly, with pace, from tree to tree. He could hear movement up ahead. Shaking with evil excitement, Akimaru set himself up. He was like a hawk, waiting for it's prey to move into an open position and snatch it up. Attuning his senses, Akimaru left his mind for a moment. He was almost tracking the upcoming person, although he had little to no experience in the area. "The ninja is definately moving by treetops." Akimaru thought to himself, dropping into a crouch, his hand gripping the branch much harder than necessary. He had made the assumption the upcoming person was a ninja because civilians didn't often travel by treetops.

But Akimaru wanted to be sure. Never had he longed for the Byakugan so much in his life. Then he could just see this person, and his anxiety would be settled, either way. He could sense the ninja coming closer. Closer. Closer. Akimaru was looking down, as he doubted the ninja was a high up in the branches as him. Closer. BAM. Akimaru's head split in two, and the impact of whatever had just hit him had sent him flying off of the branch he was gripping with one hand.

Clasping out with his hands, Akimaru felt a branch and firmly grabbed it. He pulled his weight up onto it. Luckily, he was still hidden in shadow. Opening his eyes for the first time since the collision, Akimaru literally saw red this time. Blood was dripping from under his headband into his eyes. Blinking it away, Akimaru slipped his hand under his headband and rubbed it ferverently. Even after he had blinked away the blood, Akimaru's vision was still swaying. He would have liked to have stayed where he was until it corrected itself, but due to what happened next, that was no longer an option.

"Yo! Sorry about that, was moving a bit too quick and didn't see ya." The shinobi's voice was distant and far away, yet Akimaru knew exactly where he was stood. His eyes darted to whereabouts the voice had come from and he saw someone there. The shinobi donned a Kumogakure headband, and Akimaru's face cracked into an evil, loathsome smile. "He fits my moral criteria perfectly."

Even thinking hurt Akimaru's head right now, so he decided to let his ninja sense take over. He couldn't help but analyse the situation. The shinobi was a few feet below him, for the branch he had grabbed was quite close to the ground. The shinobi could see him, and presumably knew his exact location. But Akimaru could see him, and his opponent was out in the open, basked in sunlight. Akimaru was hidden in the trees and their intricate shadows.

Slipping his hand silently to his leg, Akimaru pulled out a kunai from his ninja pouch. The steel felt cold against the skin on his hand. With a swift motion, Akimaru swung his arm with moderate force, and he could hear the kunai whistling in the wind as it sliced through the air to reach the Kumo shinobi. Akimaru had great accuracy, so he was pretty sure his kunai was on target. But he didn't expect much. "The first move, is always a fake."

He looked on as if check on the individual he had ran into, though he seemed visually fine. His heat beat was a bit quicken, but there was no need for alarm, if anything he would just step forward and give em a hand shake, some sort of greeting and formal apology before just dashing off again. It was the least he could do, or at least he felt obligated to do. However it wasn't too long before the individual slipped out a kunai and tossed it at him. It didn't seem like warning shot as it was directed toward him but it still seemed a bit rash for an action out of anger.

Perhaps the individual was aware of his shinobi status and thus assumed he would be able to deal with a kunai. In any case, he wanted to clear up any misunderstanding before the blood went too far to the persons head. Little did he know, the individual was already deep in blood lust and the longer he took to realize this the longer he would be in danger. He lifted his hand and flicked at the air with his middle finger as the kunai approached. All of a sudden the kunai seemed to stop and flail about hopelessly to the ground as if hitting a brick wall, though it was just his pressure flick technique.

"HEY!" He shouted this time to make sure the person harmed him, "MY BAD MAN, I DIDN'T MEAN TO RUN INTO YA, NO NEED TO BE TOSSIN' THESE THINGS AT ME!"

Akimaru watched in slow motion as the kunai got closer to his opponent, willing it to slash through him, although he knew it wouldn't. Akimaru was watching closely, analysing how the shinobi would react to the kunai being thrown at him, and how he would dodge or block it. Any chance he got for analysis before battle would give him a great advantage. So that was what he did. He studied.

Just as he was aware of what his opponent would do, Akimaru sat unhumanly still, breathing through pursed lips, his chest hardly moving. His opponent didn't seem too fazed by the deadly weapon hurtling towards him. His reaction was rather cool, in Akimaru's opinion. What what he actually did to block the kunai, shocked Akimaru. Akimaru had always thought of himself in this state, hard to shock.

As the kunai was about to make contact, he lifted up his finger in the air and flicked it. The kunai stopped in it's tracks, and began to wriggle like a worm. It was such a weird view. Suddenly, the kunai dropped lifelessly to the ground with a dead clang. Akimaru's eyes widened in shock. He allowed his mind to filter through multiple hypothesis' and concluding how likely each one might be.

Wiping the look of shock from his eyes so his fellow shinobi would not see, Akimaru was hardly prepared for the tirade that came next. "HEY!" The shinobi shouted, and the very trees seemed to shake in his wrath. This didn't really bother Akimaru, in fact, it just fired him up more. "MY BAD MAN, I DIDN'T MEAN TO RUN INTO YA, NO NEED TO BE TOSSIN' THESE THINGS AT ME!"

As the man stopped shouting, Akimaru contemplated what he had said. "Pfft. Babble. Nonsense." Not wanting to give away his height advantage, Akimaru stayed in the treetops, and moved to the closest tree to his opponent. Seeing only anger again in his mind, Akimaru flipped out of the tree and span in the air. As gravity took it's toll and pulled his large ripped body down to earth, his leg was stuck out, his heel above the Kumo shinobi's head. His intention was to use his heel to smash the shinobi's head down.

"Gahh lee, what is this guys deal?" He said to himself under his breathe as he watched him track his way up the trees then spring off into the air above him. This was a pounce of sorts. Was he about to be taken under attack? He didn't quite understand the motive besides maybe he was just a hot head that was confused about the situation still. If that was the case, the only way he was going to continue with what he was doing was to capture the person to calm them. If he just ran away there were plenty of loose ends that could come back to haunt him. The only problem was, there was very few things in his arsenal that he could use that wasn't meant to kill and even his more passive techniques were only meant to set up for a death blow. He would have to take this with extreme caution; after all, killing a leaf shinobi in their own nation wouldn't look good.

As the man turned it seemed he was going to execute an axe kick from the air; such a move would be devistating with that much connective force; but luckily he had plenty of time to react with the height in which his opponent took into the air. He decided instantly not to use any techniques that would end him instantly, instead he formed two hand signs and reached for four shuriken, two in each hand. As his wind element chakra coursed into them he flung them with a flick of his wrist at his target, not only controlling them but increasing their deadly nature and speed as well. With his opponent many feet in the air, he would have a hard time dodging moving projectiles, and even more so when he could simply adjust their flight to strike the opponent as he saw fit. In all honesty, by being in mid air an attacking with such haste would leave him wide open, as he wouldn't imagine any way that he would be able to go from this attacking position to one that was infact defensive, mid air, with all of that force behind him.

As for himself; he stood his ground. He would be safe if his opponent could somehow pull off a dodging or blocking maneuver and if he failed to do so. He would be redirected by the force of the striking shuriken. In this case he was playing the odds that a "Good defense was a great offense." In any case, he would have to be careful to angle the shuriken with his chakra so that if they did strike the would so in a none-lethal way. If he did hit him, he would use a pulse technique to amplify the pain that he felt to levels that would make him black out. He would then be responsible for dragging the body back to the walls and explaining the whole interaction. It was a drag, but it was just another occupational hazard of the job of shinobi.

As Akimaru was in flight, looking at Kumo shinobi upside-down, watching for his reactions, he saw him release four shuriken into the air, and seemed to be using handseals whilst doing so. This added evidence to Akimaru's hypothesis that the Kumo shinobi had access to the fuuton element. He could hear the shuriken's whistling around him, and Akimaru decided to change course. Even through his anger, Akimaru could see that following through with this attack under the circumstances was foolish. Still spinning like a doll in the air, Akimaru formed handseals. Then, he thrust up with his right arm, and readied his body.

He straightened out, so his feet were facing the ground, ready to recieve the upcoming square metres of earth protruding out of the ground, shaking the nearby trees. The earth had literally smashed through the course of the spinning shuriken, and Akimaru could of sworn he had heard clanging of them hitting into his ridge of earth in the air. Akimaru landed gracefully, aware not to land on any shuriken, as they could be painful even at this stage. Akimaru absorbed his surroundings. The trees around them were a bit dislodged, and birds were fleeing the area rapidly.

Pretty confident his opponent couldn't see him for he was several feet high in the air and he had landed in the centre of his ridge of earth, so there was a spare metre of so around his circumference. Deciding to benefit his 'tank' style, Akimaru set up a defence. The Kumo shinobi seemed ready to fight at this point. Akimaru was done coaxing. Taking another check that the shinobi could not see him, he quickly yet carefully began to place makibishi spikes all around himself. He kept in mind his own size and how much space he would need to manouever. The makibishi spikes were small and whilst in motion would be hard to see without the aid of special eyes. The spikes were placed in a densely layered ring, and there was not much more space for another ninja to land beside him, but there was enough space for him to manouever around in. He had kept in mind that the Kumo shinobi would have to be moving to get to the top of his column of earth, so the makibishi were most likely going to be successful if he did attack. Which Akimaru hoped he would.

"Doton?" He said as he watched on as the earth deformed to not only provide cover but also catch the individual in the air. It was enough to catch and stop the shuriken he had thrown, ending his technique and control of the shuriken. The raised ground he had created shielded him from view but at the same time kept his opponent from seeing him clearly. It was obviously an attempt to hide himself once more and give him the element of surprise in which to attack from. It was a real shinobi tactic, this individual was not just lashing out at him in anger but rather actually trying to hurt of kill him. What was he thinking?!

In any case, he was now aware of two things. His Raiton nature would give him enough of an advantage of earth, but was also painfully aware that the ground he now stood on was potentially a weapon of his opponents to use. If he was focused he would be able to react to the tremors under his feet that suggested Doton movement bellow him, but that would require him to remain rather still in order to react quickly enough. As for his opponent, he had a trick of his sleeve as well. He could, detect his opponent heart beat and thus knew that he had not moved far from where he had originally landed. As a result he could catch his opponent off guard; after all he wasnt able to see him because of his position, sheltered at the edge of his own rock. In trying to blind him, he had blinded himself!

He focused lightning element chakra to his feet, the base of his heel and thus charged it with electricity while focusing to control it. At an instant, the slighting coursed through the ground from the base of his feet, skipping through the ground and up the slope, under his opponent. Without seeing it, he would have no other way of detecting it as the moving current made little detectable sound (assuming he did this as his opponent was laying the shadow makibish). The lightning built up, compacting before exploding from under his opponent. This was a force equal to that of an explosive tag and would be enough to severely hurt him should it connected at such range.

"Gotcha..." Flash thought to himself as he focused for the detection of the heart beat of his target.

As Akimaru sat silently, much against the wishes of his anger, he began to notice the eerie silence surrounding him. Of course, the birds were no longer making noise as they had flown away. But it seemed as if the Kumo shinobi were not moving at all. Resisting the temptation to peek over the edge of his column of earth, Akimaru sat silently still. In order to prevent boredom, Akimaru concentrated on the constant exertion of chakra to maintain his earth column's structure. And it was lucky he did.

Akimaru felt a disturbance in the chakra flow around the earth. It was only slight, and it was moving fast. Akimaru picked up on it. By the rate it was breaking through his doton chakra, he made another hypothesis that it was raiton chakra. Not having time to confirm this hypothesis, Akimaru decided to get off of the column before it was too late. Formin handseals faster than he ever had before, probably because of the adrenaline, Akimaru body flickered into a nearby tree.

Because he had stopped channeling chakra through it, his column of doton chakra began to collapse and fall back down towards the ground. It wasn't for long that he got to enjoy such a sight though, for suddenly, the column exploded in a flash of raiton chakra, and Akimaru's theory was confirmed. Now Akimaru had the advantage again. He could still see the Kumogakure ninja, but he doubted the Kumo ninja could see him. They both knew one of each other's element, but Akimaru had a hypothesis about the opponent's second. Seeing as Akimaru hadn't even used his suiton element yet, he knew there was no way this man could know he possessed that skill.

As the dust settled, Akimaru analysed the battlefield. That had been too close. Had he not concentrated on his chakra control there, he would not have noticed the raiton chakra flowing up towards him. His opponent was subtle, yet powerful. He needed to be on his guard. The tree Akimaru had shifted in to was a few feet away from the Kumo shinobi. If Akimaru were to make any sharp movements now, the ninja would surely see him, for he was only approximately ninety degrees from his field of vision, assuming he didn't have any dojutsu. Akimaru slowly flipped open his ninja pouch silently, pulling out his second kunai of the fight. He was sure the ninja hadn't detected him yet. Knowing this kunai was unlikely to kill, Akimaru instead wanted to test the jutsu the Kumo ninja had used before. For the second time, Akimaru sent a kunai hurtling towards the Kumo shinobi. As soon as the kunai had left his hands however, he moved a few metres down the overgrowth, so the Kumo shinobi wouldn't know where he was when he deflected the kunai, and Akimaru would still have the advantage.

And so here he was again. This was exactly the scenario that it was earlier. His opponent had retreated to the line of the forest but as long as he was in the clear he would be able to gauge incoming attacks with time to react. Maybe after a few close calls the opponent had come to their senses and calmed on their own. He had taken note of his affinity for earth and thus most techniques could be defended against rather well with Doton barriers. It would be a waste to fling more stars in the direction of his opponent, and it would only flush him out of his current hiding spot. It was a stand off of sorts; and even more so considering he himself had yet to move. It was assumed that any technique that his opponent could see coming would be easily defended against, and using overpowered lightning would cause more of a stir then he would like to have to deal with.

Another Kunai. Yes, so this was a situation exactly like the one that he had dealt with before. It was almost annoying that he had to deal with this stalling tactic. His opponent was obviously retracting his steps as far as his approach. If he was smart, he would know that he had no way of physically approaching him without putting himself in a risky situation. The feather in his head flickered lightly in the wind as if a reminder of his own capability, but why waste it on something he could hardly consider to be is enemy. It was a perplexing situation. Once again he simply flicked the kunai out of the air with the "Death Flick" and spoke with some annoyance in his voice.

"Come on, give it up buddy, just come out and we can talk this over okay?"

Akimaru watched carefully. He didn't dare to blink, in case he missed it. If the Kumogakure shinobi did the same flicking motion to deflect the kunai, it would be good enough evidence to assume he had the fuuton element as well. Not to Akimaru's surprise, the Kumo ninja obliged. He lazily lifted his hand, and flicked the kunai away. Never had a jutsu interested Akimaru this much before. But he knew he couldn't have it, as it was from an element he didn't have an affinity.

"Come on, give it up buddy, just come out and we can talk this over okay?" the Kumogakure shinobi said, sounding almost annoyed at Akimaru. Akimaru second-guessed himself. Could he trust this man? "Don't even go there." His anger told him. But the real Akimaru prevailed, this time. "I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I'm really angry, full of bloodlust in fact. I need to kill, I need to get rid of this emotion. I'm sorry you have to dedicate your life to this feeble cause." Akimaru had given away his position, as he had spoken for the first time since their confrontation.

Jumping out from the tree and onto the ground a few metres away from the Kumogakure shinobi. They were now on even footing. Akimaru had evened the playing field. "If I'm going to kill him, he deserves an honourable death." Akimaru told him anger. It didn't seem to rage around in his head as much, but he knew it objected. "My name is Akimaru Kiyo. What is yours?" Akimaru slipped his hand into his ninja pouch, and pulled out the third kunai of the match. He flipped it around on his finger, then held it in a defensive stance, and waited for his opponent to respond.

He looked on blinking lightly, almost empathetic as he heard the plight of the individual that had presented himself with no purpose greater then to kill him, a stranger, and for no other reason then for rage. It was a sad affair that people be so blinded by anger that they bring themselves to such rash decision as to end anothers life. If it was someone he knew then he would be more inclined to help them, but he didn't know this person, in fact, this was more of an obstacle then he had time to worry about. If this person wanted to end his life then he would fight him with the intensity to kill him as well.

As the person took a battle stance and pulled a kunai outward, it was something he couldn't simply say no to. "Just call me Flash." He said, turning his hand to grasp the feather from his head band and into his right hand, holding it to his side, though his stance still for the most part casual. His left hand shot into the pocket of his right side grasping two shuriken and infusing them with wind element chakra as he tossed them with the same hand. Using the shadow shuriken technique, it made it seem like only a single shuriken was thrown, and at this close length blocking one would result in getting hit by the other. With the strength of fuuton behind the rotation of the weapon, it would be enough to the disk of metal to shoot right through his body, simple, though effective. He also noticed that a bit further back was the shuriken he had thrown early, settled to the ground.

It would be a testiment to his opponents speed. With the kunai in hand it would be difficult to form hand signs with the proper dexterity and simply dodging within a few meters would be difficult as well. If he attempted to block, as noted, the shadow shuriken would strike him through his gut, ripping through his organs as it passed through him and out his back. The fuuton enhanced shuriken would shatter the normal kunai, and even then cause his opponent havoc. He would simply need to harm his opponent once in order to drive his sensation to pain to high enough levels to force him to pass out with the pulse element, thus a quick assault was the best one. After all, he did pride himself on speed.

As Akimaru stood with his kunai clenched in his hand, sweat steadily dripping from his chin, glaring at his opponent. His opponent blinked lightly, then began. "Just call me Flash." the Kumo shinobi said simply. "Flash. Hmm. That sounds like something to do with speed and raiton, I'd better be careful." After considering what his name might say about him, Akimaru's eyes refocused on the time at hand.

He watched, interested as Flash pulled out a feather, yes, a feather, from his headband. Yup. Headband. Not a kunai, not a shuriken, but a feather. What was he going to do with that? "Don't misunderestimate him." Akimaru's mind told him sharply. "He can make even in feather into a deadly weapon with his fuuton element." it continued. "That's only a hypothesis though." his reasoning kicked in. "We have enough evidence to assume, though."

Not wanting to listen to the banter within his own mind, Akimaru took action. Holding the feather in one of his hands, Flash threw a shuriken at Akimaru. He thought about blocking it simply with his kunai, but that seemed to dangerous. "The first move's always a fake." So, Akimaru wanted to test his theory. He threw the kunai in his hand at the shuriken. A normal shuriken would have been hit off course and both shuriken and kunai would fall limply to the floor.

But when Akimaru threw his kunai at the spinning shuriken, it ripped straight through it. "Just as I thought, he using fuuton to power his weapons." Deciding it would be better to block this attack rather than dodge or counter, Akimaru formed the handseals and just in time, a large wall of earth threw itself upwards between Akimaru and the shuriken's path. As Akimaru was stood up, he noticed the two kunai he had thrown earlier, and pocketed them for use later.

A classic attack and a classic defense, though he was caught off guard that his opponent would have enough time to not only attempt to counter attack, but also to form hand signs and pull off a defensive jutsu; after all they were only meters from each other.

But it mattered not. His opponent had once again cut off his own view with the rock wall he had placed before him and would have little time to stop anything that passed through the wall itself to hit him. Raiton was strong against earth and thus penetrating the wall would be possible. In fact, the technique he had in mind would be able to pass through the wall with a piercing effectiveness that only raiton could pull off... but it would be too simple to just have one such technique.

He effectively had two shuriken left to use and planned on putting them to good use. If he would make it a multiple pronged attack then he would be able to catch his opponent in at least one of the potentially dangerous assaults. He would start with the first attack and have the second one ready in case his opponent would some how dodge the next attack. With any luck or perhaps poor luck he would score damage to his opponent but if not, he would have the final two shuriken ready; one to be thrown and he other to shadow it; with his fuuton he would control these with wind and direct them about to strike his off balance opponent. It wasn't fail proof, but with the number of times his opponent had taken his eyes off of himself during this battle, there was no reason for Flash not to doubt the inexperience in his opponents movement; whatever the rank may be.

With the hand that held the feather he extended his arm toward the rock in front of him, forming lightning element chakra at his finger to a point before releasing it in a linear path into the rock, causing it to pierce right through the solid structure like a needle through clothe. With his opponent directly at the other side of it retrieving kunai, the attack would be at point blank range and would most likely shoot right through him as well, wounding him with the piercing lightning element attack. Should he somehow be able to get out of harms way, he had prepared both the shuriken in other hand to be thrown directly where he would flee, following one attack with another. By being able to control them with wind chakra, he would be able to guarantee that he could score a hit, and if the man should come in close combat once more, he would find out exactly what the feather was for...

[OoC: He doesn't, but the fact that you are means that you will have a tough time dodging an in coming attack. It usually isn't smart to make actions AFTER dodging/attacking because that time delay is used against you. It was a logistical statement, not something he himself knows.]

As Akimaru was knelt on the hard earth, his knee making it's own mark in the warm ground, a burst of light beamed overhead. Akimaru's grip tightened on the kunai. He looked up, and a beam of raiton chakra with had clearly been concentrated was pentrating his doton wall, and attempting to attack him through his own defence. The beam literally burned through the top few strands of his long hair, and Akimaru dropped into prone, his heart smashing rapidly against the ground. It almost hurt.

As Akimaru lay there for a few seconds, looking at the beautiful beam of electric blue, he concentrated doton chakra and slipped underground. Underneath the crust of the hard earth, the soil was soft and damp, really nice condition for tunneling through. The aroma of plants, soil and dank filled Akimaru's nostrils. He could see nothing, but his own movement. He felt as he tunneled beneath his earth wall, which had probably crumbled now due to the lack of chakra maintaining it. Flash had probably come to the conclusion that he was hiding in the trees again. But of course, he wasn't.

Scrabbling away silently at the soil which was only too happy to succumb to his will, he carried on until he was almost certain he was just a few inches behind Flash's heels. Rising as close to the surface as possible without actually protruding, he 'sensed' around him, and confirmed his position; and Flash's. As quick as a flash, he punched his hands through the earth, and grabbed each respective heel of Flash's. His head then steadily rose above ground so he could have a better view on what was going on. He yanked hard on Flash's heels, with enough strength to bring his whole body beneath the earth.

Certain his attack had been successful, Akimaru leaped out of the earth, and readied himself. He patted the excess dirt off of his ninja clothes and the colder air splashed all over him. It made him shiver a little. The sights were beautiful, having spent a minute or so underground. Despite it being a jutsu in his arsenal, Akimaru didn't like going underground much. It limited his physical vision, smelt bad and he could hear other earth-bound creatures scrabbling around him in a desperate attempt to get away from their predator. He was pleased with the prospect. Flash would be at his will. Almost tasting his bloodlust inbetween his lips, Akimaru turned around.

His opponent had the right idea but it would be his last move. Taking to the ground was smart, as it was a mode of transportation that not many individuals could muster without some form of advanced technique or Doton. Unfortunately for his opponent, he was completely unaware of his ability to sense the heart beat of living things. It was a technique that was accustom of his clan and thus a passive within a certain area of himself. It wasn't perfect like that of a sensory ninja, but for as long as his opponents heart raced in both fear of the many close calls that he had and the drive to end himself, he would have a general lock on his position, and when he had would appear to be under him, there was no better explanation then that he was in fact underground.

Flash was reminded of the time he spent in the far north. There he observed the many tactics and lengths the people that lived there went to survive. Here, on the ice shelf, almost all of the mammals that existed were marine based; thick and fat blubber protected them from the harsh cold and they thrived in the frozen waters; but these were still mammals and they still had to breathe normal air. The Inuit Clan would thus wait patiently for these mammals to come upwards to the waters surface for air, and strike them the split second their noses breached the waves. It was a hunting style that he was forced to attempt and master to, on his own, survive, as even for a shinobi food was hard to come by here. It was this very tactic with the harpoons of the Inuit that he would use now.

He focused as his opponent moved underground, waiting for the moment that he came up; where he would have no place to run. It was only then that he realized that he was in fact coming toward him. Perfect. If his opponent was going to attempt an attack or technique from point blank range then he would have no clue what was going on above the surface and would be able to strike him into the ground. Little did he know but his opponent was currently digging his own grave. He pocketed the shuriken he had prepared and waited; lifting the feather, while keeping his feet planted. He surged wind element chakra through the blade as his target approached.

Then suddenly, his opponent hands burst through the ground and grabbed his heels. The second his head peaked upward from the ground

) he thrust the blade down the top half of the mans skull, piercing his head, brain, neck and spine with the thrust of the blade. The grasp on his heels where loosen, as the man would go limp and die bellow him, slipping back into the ground.

"Shame... I'd better go tell the Konoha officials before they find his body first." He said, taking it as a matter of duty, not that he had just taken a mans life.
