Yoroi Kaguya

Sitting in the center of his little forest camp after finalizing his vibration element training, he warmed himself by the fire he had made. He was rather proud of this weeks achievements, having mastered lightning release to it’s fullest in only a couple of days, something that could have taken a lifetime if it had been anyone else. The training and extended use of his chakra reserves had left him nearly depleted, which was only normal when one considered that it had been around midnight, the time where most human bodies started shutting down in preparation for when they went to sleep. Sleep was something that generally refused to work for Yoroi, haunting nightmares keeping him from really sleeping through the night without waking up in sweat and sometimes even tears. Though he could never remember what happened to him in his dreams, he knew that there were a lot of things that happened in his daily life that made him increasingly more depressed. The reason was that the people he liked and loved all seemed to have different things in their lives, leaving him alone when they got sick of him. Being the kind of person that only wanted to protect his loved ones, this was something that truly hurt him. Trying to let go of it and clear his mind as a means of maybe getting a couple more hours of sleep, he sat himself down in a meditative position, letting his chakra flow. Whenever he felt his energy flow through his body during moments of meditation, he always thought about how it had happened that he had so much of it.

Like him, Kimiko also had bestial amounts of chakra in her body, something she had shown when they last sparred one another. Chakra, a thing every human being possessed in the world of Shinobi. How it came to be that every single human had chakra systems running through their body was something no one really knew, for it had seemingly been with them from the day the first human was born. There were people who believed that the tailed beasts had once been part of one entity that was known as the Ten Tailed Beast. This beast was said to have powers that made up the core of every elemental nature, including the advanced elements now in the possession of clans like the Senju. At the time, there was one brave sage who came to the lands of Shinobi to do battle with this primordial behemoth. After a long battle, it was said that this man sealed the demon’s power inside of his own body while sealing the body, which was now nothing more than an empty husk inside of a massive rock which was sent into space, creating the moon in the process. Taking on the moniker of Rikudo Sennin, meaning Sage of Six Paths, he spread the knowledge of Ninjutsu and Chakra across the Shinobi world, giving them the tools to create peace. Unfortunately, this was later used to wage war more effectively now that people could use amazing new powers. In the waning days of the sage, he decided to split the power of the Juubi into nine parts, creating the Nine Tailed Beasts that the villages seemed to be so obsessed with. This was only part of a way bigger story, something a lot of superstitious people believed in.

These were the people who claimed that this primordial demon was once a tree that went by the name of Shinju, or God Tree. When humanity was at war, a princess that went by the name Kaguya wanted all of the fighting to stop, believing that there should be a god like being to make it all stop. As a result of that belief, she had sought out the Shinju, who had been bearing fruit at the time, picked and ate of it. This granted her powers that were out of this world, putting a stop to all of the fighting like she had vowed to herself. When she gave birth to a son that held the exact same power as her, though because he had been born with this power, he had grown up to become much more gifted than his mother. It was around this time that the Shinju grew angry with the person that had taken it’s chakra, twisting itself into the monstrous Juubi, hell bent on taking back it’s chakra from humanity. This was, in their opinion, what happened before the entire story of the Juubi and the Sage of Six Paths, though no one could really say for sure if all of this was just mere folklore or if it had actually happened. The only ones that could really be certain about all of this were the Tailed Beasts themselves, though it had been made clear that all nine of these demons hated humanity and wished for nothing more than their destruction for their imprisonment inside of human hosts who utilized their chakra and used them as mere weapons.  It was something Yoroi himself could relate to, truly hating it when people saw him as just a Shinobi, believing that he was nothing more than a weapon to be used when the village and it’s people felt it to be most convenient.

He was a Kaguya that had come from out of nowhere as he started climbing through the ranks of the hidden leaf village, learning their secrets and becoming one of the most powerful people in the village, if not the most powerful one. His bloodline was what turned him into an almost invincible weapon, capable of inflicting death on almost every living being that would choose to make itself his enemy. As such, it was to be expected that the people of the village would rather use and see him as a weapon than actually get to know him for the person he was, for this was something that would actually take some effort, this being what the people of the village did not want to do. Humanity is lazy, that was something Yoroi believed, for people would rather spend money to hire a Shinobi to do their tasks over having to dirty their own hands. When Yoroi was hired to do this kind of thing, he always expressed his distaste to these people, hoping that they would take it to heart and do things themselves in the future, though this was never the case. When a one armed woman going by the name Togame had called him Shinobi, he had also told her that his name was not Shinobi. When people knew his name, they could show some respect by calling him as such, rather than denying him his identity and treating him as a weapon. The mere thought of this made his chakra flare up, showing that there was still a lot of it left in him, even after his training session that had taken up several hours of his day.

Taking a deep breath, the flaring chakra died down as he took back control over his emotions. It was at times like these, when there was no one around for miles that he could fall back into his somewhat primal way of life, letting his aggression and anger flow out of him as a means of letting go of everything. There was a time when he did not care about anything or anyone, though Kimiko, Viera and Ophelia had changed that when they showed that they cared for him. He had become a rather docile version of himself, having learned things such as manners and other forms of etiquette. Though it was not very Shinobi like, he was fine with the way things had gone for him, for he had a family again. The only question now was guessing how long this family would hold, not having seen Viera in several months now, while Ophelia had also just disappeared into thin air when she was actually still with him. Kimiko had chosen Toshiro over him, planning on getting married and even moving in with the man of her dreams, again leaving him behind like everyone who once claimed to love him had done in the end. First they made sure he loved them as much as they claimed to love him, only to either leave him behind and go elsewhere or just disappear into thin air like they had never existed in the first place. In a way, Yoroi had learned to close himself to the outside world through the art of meditation, focusing solely on his chakra and the furthering of his own personal growth. If he had not learned how to do this, his nightmares, traumas and other experiences would most likely have driven him to the verge of insanity already.

The art of meditation was something he had picked up on when he was training in the monastery of the fire country, the Fire Temple. When he was there, he felt that there was a lot of chakra still hidden away inside of him, something he could call out through meditation and turn into a permanent addition of his chakra pool, something that would always be useful to him. The more he developed his control over his body and his chakra, the stronger he could become, for the final rank in the bingo book had almost been reached. This did not mean that his growth would cease once he had reached the rank of S class Shinobi, no, it just opened up a lot of new doors with new areas to explore. Even at this time of the day, he hoped he could reach a new place through meditation, hoping that when he opened his eyes, his problems would have disappeared like water dropped onto the surface of the sun. Following the flow of his chakra like one would follow water running down from the mountains, he breathed in and out at a calm pace, getting more in tune with his surroundings, which were just as quiet as he was at the moment. For a solid hour, Yoroi just kept meditating, losing track of time in the process. When he opened his eyes, Shakreido and Kaien had already left him, each of them returning to their nearby den to get some shuteye. Figuring that he should probably do the same, he also went into his tent, burying himself under the home made blankets.

Several hours went by as the young Kaguya was rolling around in his sleep, haunted by yet another one of his nightmares. It seemed that this time, meditation had only been able to do so much for him before his nightmares came back to him. Waking up in sweat, it seemed that this nightmare had been worse than any he had ever been caught in up to this point. Doing that which he had been taught to do by Modoroki, he sat up straight, crossed his legs and placed his hands over his lap while closing his eyes. Nightmares were a construct of fear, and fear was just a state of mind. Taking deep breaths, Yoroi tried to calm himself as he let his chakra flow through his body again. For some reason, it always calmed him down when he prepared himself for battle, this being a perfect simulation of that desired effect. Even now, he could still feel the aftershock of his nightmare that now wrapped him in a full scale panic attack. Letting more and more of his chakra flow, he eventually wrapped himself in what seemed like a blanket of chakra, crackling with lightning. In flashes, the things that had haunted him in his dreams flashed before his eyes. The mangled bodies of his fellow villages, a burning village and finally, the corpses of his family. When the vision of his perished loved ones flashed before his eyes, Yoroi opened his eyes together with a loud grunt that escaped his lips, causing all of the chakra that flowed through him to explode. Creating a violent lightning surge, the tent around him was blasted away from him, sent fying up into the air.

Breathing heavily, it seemed that the massive discharge of chakra had managed to shake him out of his panic attack. With lightning still crackling around him, Yoroi started to feel better already. For once, it seemed that the meditation had actually done it’s job, though he could not say as much for his tent. The last time his chakra had just exploded from within was when he was learning to better control his power inside the fire temple, the time when he learned about the fire element housing inside of his chakra system as an additional element. Already being low on chakra from the earlier training sessions he had done before he went to bed, he was quite surprised when he thought about the amount of chakra that still housed inside of him. Apparently, what he thought was just a bit turned out to be enough to blow away a sturdy tent that had been anchored with leather straps, solid bone and thick wooden poles. He had always felt that lightning was his primary element, though he never really managed to figure out whether this was the case or not. Feeling a bit dizzy after releasing a burst of chakra from reserves he did not think he’d have, he did not really have the strength to go out and look for the tent he had accidentaly blown into the woods. Figuring that his tent would still be there when he woke up, he just went back to calming himself down through meditation. Holding the tiger seal, the crackling bits of lightning chakra that danced around him started to die down again as his chakra system returned to normal.

Collapsing on the bunch of furs that acted as a bed, pillow and blankets at the same time, the fact that he was laying on his back allowed him to look up at the starry skies. Watching the full moon looming above him and casting down it’s light to the world below, Yoroi started wondering about the whole story of the Sage and the Shinju, wondering just how much of this was true and how much had been made up. If it were true, he could not even begin to comprehend the levels of chakra someone must have had if they held enough power to create an almost planet sized sphere of rock and send it into space with the body of a demon locked inside of it. Yoroi always believed that he and his sister were the ones who had a lot of chakra, though both of them paled in comparrison to the sage that made all of these mythical things happen. Hell, even if they put both of their chakra pools together, they would still not be able to touch the kind of power that could devastate an entire planet like that. Still, Yoroi could feel how his power grew every time he nearly depleted his chakra pool. It was almost as if his body responded to the fact that he needed more chakra when he ran out, leading to it increasing his chakra pool, just in case he needed the extra bit when the next fight came. With his mind still on the stories he had heard about the human gods and primordial demons of the past, he slowly drifted back into the world of dreams.
