Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Vide
PostSubject: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptyFri 15 Nov 2013, 9:23 am

We have come now to the end

White shores are calling

You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms

The bandages unwrapped and fell to the ground, motionless. The blisters were gone and Yuushi didn’t think there would be any permanent scarring, but the skin was still a bright pink and had quite a bit of sheen on it. Applying another generous dose of cooling balm on his forearms, to soothe the irritating pain for at least few hours more, Yuushi grabbed the clean bandages and began to gingerly wrap them around the wounded locations, his body taking care of the process as his mind began to slowly drift away, as if languidly being drawn out to another time, to another place, remnants of things that had transpired flashing inside his head. There, all done., he thought to himself, forcefully dragging his consciousness back to the present, tying a knot on the bandage on his left arm.

Grabbing the rejected, sullied wrappings, he brought them to the bathroom and deposited them in the hamper, when he got home later. Turning to the sink, he splashed some water on his face and eyed himself in the mirror, finding a pair of worn-out blue eyes, their piercing glare nothing but a shade of its past self. It had been roughly two weeks since his arms had gotten seared. His chest, too, but that was not as severe, and had healed up quickly. He had decided to not go to the hospital or see a professional medic. Rather, he tended to his own wounds, facing his own pain and agony, justifying to himself that he caused them and, as such, he had to fix it.  Every day, he would apply cooling balm to his forearms and change the bandages several times, refusing to take any form of pain killers besides the balm. And even then, he had to be coaxed for two days on end, by a sweet lady on the third floor, to use her special recipe on his damaged arms – of course, he couldn’t say no. His sweater and fishnet undershirt had been irrevocably damaged and, thus, trashed the very same day… and he could swear a small patch of his hair, right above his left ear, looked darker than usual ever since, but rather dismissed it as imagining things. Returning to reality, he dried the water off of his visage and left the bathroom, heading for bed, after an uneventful day.

He had been exonerated from his job due to his injury, until he was completely healed, though his boss had been generous enough to let him keep his pay. He had argued that if he did not work, he should not get paid, but the owner of the hotel had not listened. In Yuushi’s mind, he had taken pity on him, on his injury gotten in the process of trying to become an asset to the village. A heroic injury suffered in the line of duty. But Yuushi knew better. He knew the cause of this injury was, at best, moronic. Jumping into a fireball? Who would do such a thing? And then to get rewarded with free, paid time for it?
In addition to his physical injuries, he had suffered deeper, longer lasting scars that day. He knew that all the three of them, the Genin, had somehow besmirched their chances at success, some more than others. And if anyone had to take the prize of the biggest screw-up, it would undoubtedly be Yuushi. He had been the rock that had fallen and caused the avalanche, the genesis of their whole team coming undone.  It was a weight he had carried on his shoulders ever since that day, and one that he could not hope to see ameliorated nearly as quickly as his physical counterpart. It was this discomfiture of his, this uneasiness that had kept him at bay from his teammates, even if one of them lived literally right down the hall.

Naturally, however, Yuushi didn’t exactly sit at home every day. The first few days, he tried to work normally, even through the burning and throbbing that unceasingly tormented his arms, but it was impossible – every time, he had been caught by his superior and, thus, told to go rest. Resting, however, was utterly beyond the bounds of possibility. Whenever his body stopped, his mind raced, vividly revisiting the immediate past, so vividly in fact that, on a few occasions, Yuushi would have sworn he had heard a set of voices – one extremely angry, one emotionless and cold and another full of feeling and worry -, or even felt the blistering heat of the fireball, enveloping his body anew. Thus, for his mind to stay at rest, his body had to keep moving. Walking about was his first options but proved to be thoroughly ineffective, as it was not strenuous enough to conserve all of his concentration. And then he was reminded of the determination that he had felt after Yoroi had left the training ground, on that day. Like a jolt of electricity running through his body, like the very breath of life that had inundated his body and kept him alive when he first laid eyes on the village of Konoha, this galvanizing feeling was still very much branded into his recollection of the whole event. And that is how he began training every day.

Every morning since then, Yuushi would wake up, shower, get dressed, change his bandages, and depart. Exiting the village and heading to a nearby forest by the side of a road, he would immerse himself into the thicket, braving the grove to its core, where he made his training grounds. Here, he found himself revisiting what he had been taught at the academy, the most basic of the techniques, as well as the techniques he learned since then. Physical training, too, was a large part of it, as he ran and exercised to build up his stamina and endurance, he jumped from tree to tree to train his agility, worked on his core muscles and on his limbs, and calmly meditated to focus on his chakra control. His progress was… small at best, but nonetheless, it was the effort that counted. This new regiment of his allowed him to more peacefully live his current days, exerting his physical energies which, in turn, kept his mind tired enough to not wander.

He had been unsure what would come out of this whole team situation. It had been clear they had failed the original assignment and, just as Yoroi had initially explained, his former team was disbanded for similar reasons – failure, incompatibility and personal issues. He hadn’t been quite as clear, however, as to where the team now stood. He had mentioned a next time – but who could truly know?
Yuushi’s doubts, even if he hadn’t bothered to ponder on them all too much, were dispelled on the 15th day after the failed exercise. Arriving at the hotel reception as the sun lowered on the horizon, he found another formal envelope addressed to him. Clearly from Yoroi, like the first, he grabbed it and took it to his room, where he opened and read the message inside, detailing the next mission.

It seemed that, on the next day, they were to meet on the forest by the Roiyaru Road, the very same forest Yuushi had been training in, to begin a cleaning process of the same woods, picking up litter and scouring the location for any kind of trash. Sighing, he threw the letter to his table, as he sat on his raggedy couch. They would all be meeting on the next day, and there was no escaping from that. He could just quit… but then again, what good would that be? Yes, he had annihilated their chances at success last time, but that did not mean he should not try again. What good would all of his training be for, then? No, running away would not do.

Calming his anxiety, he finished his nightly rituals and went to sleep quite early. Equally early, the next day, he was already up and getting ready. In fact, the sun’s brilliance had not even tinged a shred of the sky, yet, when he was out of the door, treading calming towards the outside of Konohagakure, set on starting early. By the time he reached his destination, a slight orange tint had began appearing over the horizon, but the dusk’s bitter breeze still dug its boreal fangs into his clothes flesh. He wore a thin black sweater on top of a fishnet undershirt and a pair of simple, dark blue baggy pants, and as he began to slightly shiver, he dreamed of his high neck sweater, his warmest one, that had been charred beyond repair last time. Why he had decided to come so early he did not know but, seeing as he was already here, Yuushi concluded that he might as well begin the whole process, starting to pick up the trash immediately next to the road, where it was more abundant and easier to spot and collect. After all, even if he did not make a dent into the overall work load, at least he would keep his body warm, and his mind off things.

Cleaning House [Mission, Private] MAVzALC
The last couple of weeks brought about less amusement then Nomi would’ve wanted. Having mostly kept to herself, preferring not to confront her friends about their last fruitless mission, she decided to take time to herself. Time spent alone didn’t really affect the young blonde, as she grew used to it over the years already. Having time away to discover the faults in her fight with her sensei, what he had mentioned to her before leaving and even thinking up small strategies of how to improve, needless to say, it grew quite boring very fast. Now, Nomi was always willing to learn from her mistakes, preferring to never repeat the same fault twice, but her mind seemed to wander towards other matters. Her friends, Yuushi and Genji crossed her mind, of course, and how they held up since their last rendezvous.

Despite Yuushi living next door, she decided against any visits until their next meeting. She was sure that the last people he wanted to see were his teammates, so avoidance at all costs was necessary. The last thing she wished for was to make the situation a whole lot worse. And even while out on the town, Nomi passed Genji’s bonsai shop several times, but hurriedly walked by, in hopes that he didn’t notice her. It was obvious the three required time to reflect and choose the next best course of action.. or just wait for the next letter for their mission to show up. What was taking so long?

Although it began as plenty of possibly unnecessary worry on her part, it soon grew into Nomi dividing her time into more productive hobbies. The young woman caught up on her drawing, strolling through the town every day to find some inspiration. While she was out, she picked up ingredients – all kinds – in order to start experimenting with her cooking again. No doubt, practice made perfect, right? Well, sitting at home, worrying about the next mess-up she’d create wouldn’t bake those cupcakes any sooner. For several days straight, it was all she did – occupying her time by conceiving new recipes, trying the old fashioned ones and overall, simply trying to not burn down the apartment complex.

On one fateful day did she receive a letter, apparently slid underneath her door. Nomi hurried toward it, carefully opening it and pulling out the letter as if she was discovering the lucky golden ticket. Inside was a note written by her sensei, which was their next mission to clean up the outside forests, rivers and roads. Oh thank God. Nomi sighed with relief, as she thought that her team had been disbanded for failing their first mission... Not only was it a weight off her shoulders, but also left her excited, as it was an opportunity to tend to nature as well. Her clan was naturally drawn and felt most comfortable when they were outside and surrounded by woodland, or anything green - clearly this was something she couldn’t fail.

Preparing for the following morning, she bought extra trash bags, as well as a basket to carry on her back. Collecting her necessities – along with her brown bag which held her sketching supplies – she left her apartment and walked past Yuushi’s door, wondering if he would be interested in going with her. Staring for a few moments before deciding against it, she sighed and continued on her way, figuring that he wouldn’t want to walk with her anyway.

Exiting the village gates and reaching Roiyaru Road, she quickly noticed the silver haired man ahead of her, already beginning the mission. Surprised, but then again, somewhat expecting it, Nomi gave a light smile as she waved and walked up to him. “Oh, Yuushi-san.. You’re here early. Are you well?” she asked, setting down her large basket and taking out several more trash bags, along with a poker to pick up trash easier. One would assume that Nomi was quite the overachiever – and they’d assume correctly – but this mission was far more important to her then a normal Genin, who saw it as a simple clean up duty. As far as Nomi knew, a forest was just another home, whether it be for her or the woodland creatures who took refuge there. Clearly determined and already beginning to poke at balled up piece of paper with her stick, and grab a can with her free hand, she placed both in her basket. Continuing along, quite happily, this area would be spotless by the end of the day with Nomi in charge.

PostSubject: Re: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptySat 16 Nov 2013, 2:11 pm

After there rather catastrophic first meeting as a team had ended Genji had whit drawn himself again. It wasn't that he was angry at them tough he still personally found Yuushi a idiot for pulling of something like that in a training session, no it was more him being angry at himself. Ever since the incident that left him scarred he had been training to get stronger, convincing himself that just by getting strong enough he wouldn't be bothered by it anymore. That he would finally be able to keep it behind him. And so he trained and trained for years and given, Genji was strong in his own rights but back then during the training just the sight of the fire alone showed him. Whatever he had done so far it just wasn't enough. The mere sight of so much fire alone had messed so much whit him it startled him.

Even after the training session the image haunted him. He hated to admit it but every time he tried to relax or sleep the images haunted his troubled mind. It was almost as if he was back years ago, surrounded by fire crying for help as the flames surrounded him, only to be haunted by the mocking laughter of those responsible. Only to snap out of his dream like state to find himself back in his room to the present day. It always took him a while to calm down after one of these incidents as he found himself thrown in a near panicked state before he realized it already all happened. A bad memory that would keep haunting him probably for the rest of his life. But Genji wouldn't be Genji if he would just accept it. No one way or another he would find a way to stop those images from haunting him.

So for the rest of the time Genji started focusing on keeping himself as busy as he could. The less time he had to think those things over the less it would bother him. So he threw himself on every thing that could distract him ranging from his own personal training to helping his uncle out in his little Bonsai store. If it was possible he became even more shut in as he refused to even bring it up to his uncle. Not for the man his lack of trying tough as he seemed to try and ambush Genji whenever he got the chance about what was bother him but Genji just ignored it. This problem was his to deal whit. But so far Genji only tried to suppress him and put himself over it. But if that would help him in the long end remained to be seen.

And like this the days passed until finally he received a note for a new mission. He was briefly surprised seeing it was from the sennin again since he was pretty sure their team was a rather big failure. But it seemed the man didn't gave up so easily and got them together again ... To clean up the forests. This was easily the most ridiculous idea for a mission he ever heard. A total waste of their time. But this time he just couldn't bring it up himself to complain. The last few days had tired him out quite a lot. The constant work he did , the training and the lack of sleep had tired him both physically but mentally as well so a mission to take a little break of everything else would be appreciated for a change. Even tough he was pretty sure that by the end of the week the area they where supposed to clean would be littered all over again.

So after another night of barely sleeping he went over to where they where supposed to meet. Ofcourse the others where already there before him minus Yoroi. The only greeting he gave them was a tired nod as he took one of the bags to collect the trash in and went to his own secluded spot and started to pick up whatever he found in front of him. Even in his half dazed state it surprised him what people all throw away as he tosses aside obvious trash but sometimes even find object that could as well just be lost by travelers passing trough the forest and having left the items behind without probably even noticing they where gone. Still whit a little sigh he takes his eyes off the trinkets and put them away as he taught how easy it was to just lose something without realizing it was gone. If only that worked for everything in life.

Yoroi Kaguya

After the failure his team had shown during the hunt for the bells, Yoroi had been wondering about what he should do now. Because he was still very young as a Sensei and was put with people who were either his age or older, yet still far beneath him in rank. He was their superior in every sense of the word, though that only got them so far. He could send them on a hundred missions to prove to himself that they were worth the trouble, though every single mission he got his hands on felt like it could be too much for them. After all, one seemed prone to extreme levels of self pity, reaching the point where he would toss himself into a fireball just to allow the rest of his team an opening while another seemed to have a lot of issues with people, this including himself. Having lashed out at his comrade by giving him a beating, it seemed that the entire ordeal with the fireball had set him off in a bad manner. Finally, the Daimyou's daughter seemed to be rather willing to put herself in the danger line just so she can try to save her friends, something that would ultimately get her killed as a Medical shinobi in the field.

They were living in a dangerous world, and if word got out about her background, even some of the more harmless missions could turn out to become very dangerous. It was not that hard to make a person disappear for ransom in the world of shinobi, a place where information was worth more than numbers and power, simply because information equaled power in a world of lies and deceit. News traveled quickly, especially in the underworld that was filled with scum and villainy. Every country claimed they had no such thing going on within their borders, though Yoroi had seen the way things were with his own eyes. He could not risk letting people know about her background, for now, he also deemed it to be better not to let their team members know about it either, at least not until they had proven their worth and dedication to the team and the village. Until the time came when she could easily fend for herself, classified information about her status had to remain hidden. It was for that reason that he had picked the easiest and most danger-free mission in the book. After all, there were only so many ways in which someone could screw up on removing trash and unwanted items from the forests surrounding the village.

When they were out in the forest, keeping an eye on them would not be all that easy due to the trees. The worst thing that could happen was if one of them got attacked by a wild animal, though there was no fiber of Yoroi's being that believed one of the young adults would lose to a simple animal. After all, Yoroi was close to them as well, hanging around in the woods on a branch, remaining out of sight. If someone truly intended to find him, it would not be too hard to do so, though for those that had no idea that he was around, he would most likely remain unseen in his lazy spot up in the tree. Having a solid idea about the spots his Genin had been assigned to, it would not be much of a problem for him to dash out on a moments notice and check up on them or help them if problems arose. As long as they all did their job and kept away from trouble, this mission could be finished in very little time. Though it would not make up for the earlier failure, it would be a step in the right direction, and that in itself was worth it. If they could get past the drama of the last meeting, they would most certainly be capable of making it all work out for the better.

Chances were that he had been way too hard on the kids, though he just wanted to prepare them all for the world outside the gates that had already consumed the lives of hundreds due to a lack of caution or skill. Especially for the girl, just because she was not a male, her life would be particularly much harder than that of a man. Her background would make it even harder for to be truly accepted as a shinobi, figuring that people would always see her as the daughter of the Daimyou. They all had a lot to work on so far, though she had the most to overcome, something she may or may not understand at this point, but will stand face to face with soon enough, of that there was no doubt. Letting the Genin socialize and clean their part, he just remaining in a lazy state, having no intention of helping.

PostSubject: Re: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptySun 17 Nov 2013, 11:06 pm

We have come now to the end

White shores are calling

You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms

As Yuushi continued the clean the roadside part of the forest, the sun slowly starting to make its way across the sky, the trash pile he had began gathering quickly rose and, soon, almost reached his waist. It wasn't exactly hard to figure out why this part of the forest was so littered and dirty, as in the short half an hour he had been here, even in these early hours in the morning, there had been quite a few people who had passed by him already, using the road nearby. With this influx of people, it was no wonder this much trash had collected here, no matter how irresponsible and damaging that turned out to be.

Grabbing a trash bag out of his pocket, Yuushi hung it from a nearby tree branch, filling it with all the trash he had already collected. Soon after, and just as he had began to slightly move away from the road, further into the forest, he heard a recognizable voice from behind him – Nomi. He had been preparing himself for this moment, the moment he had to face Nomi and Genji, being that that was one of the reasons why he had decided to come so early. Not only would he begin to get some work off the way, this lone working of his, near the woods, was the perfect chance to prepare for the upcoming meeting. Truthfully, he was not entirely sure how they would react to this meeting themselves. On one hand, there was Nomi, friendly and kind. Even if she did blame him for what happened, she would never say it. Rather, she would act amiable towards him, act her usual silly self in hopes of raising his spirits and, most important of all, he knew she would do her utmost to try to help him in whatever his grievances were. On the other hand, there was Genji. He had undoubtedly blamed Yuushi for the whole ordeal, and also for bringing back those remnants of olden days, the barely forgotten, never forgiven events of his past, whatever they were. Who knew if he was even willing to show up for such a meeting, at this point? After all, only two weeks had passed. Two weeks that had felt like a lifetime, to Yuushi, as he immersed himself in his thoughts, in his doubts and in his self-pity - but were no more than two weeks, nonetheless.

Regardless, he had figured that it was pointless and a hindrance to himself to have some kind of preplanned machination to deal with his teammates’ reactions, when in fact, he had absolutely no notion of how those reactions would take place. To improvise would be, he had decided, the best course of action, rather reacting to their own moods and behaviors. With a silent, short deep breath, he tossed the trash he had been holding into the suspended trash back, a mere foot away from him, and slowly turned to face Nomi, who had began doing her own share of work.

”Hello Nomi. I am fine, thank you. I decided to come early and start, to get it out of the way. How about you? You look well.” he answered her, making some sort of an effort to create a dialog, despite the fact that he was naturally and obviously terrible at this sort of thing. With this short exchange between the two, they both settled silently into their work, making little progress before the third member of the team arrived. Genji was markedly silent, especially when put into contrast with the last time he and Yuushi had seen each other. Still, Yuushi felt some surprise in the fact that he did decide to show up, at all. Considering what had happened between them, Genji being here was as much of a commitment as Yuushi could expect from anyone. It wasn’t Yuushi’s place to decide or judge how the other young man was supposed to act once he was here, when he had the right to not be here at all. Naturally, there was the fact that this was more or less official work, so not being here would also be somewhat of a nonexistent option. Regardless, Genji might’ve been able to switch teams, if he had required to do so. Nomi, Yuushi guessed, was also a big factor in all of it – she and Genji were friends and closer than they appeared at first sight. Genji abandoning her due to what happened on the last mission would be unfair, to her, and most likely something that would hurt her terribly.

Yuushi, on the other hand… really had no ties here. Of course, there was some sort of blooming friendship starting between him and Nomi, but… If he had to decide which of the two – he or Genji – were closer and more important to Nomi, the answer was quite obvious. So, why did not Yuushi simply resign? Save himself the chagrin, save Nomi the trouble of having to try to patch things up, to try to bridge the antagonistic sides of the divide together, and save Genji the effort of having to pretend to be interested and into these circumstances, for the sake of Nomi. Maybe even save Yoroi the trouble of putting up with their crap once again. But who knows about that one, it is impossible to tell without knowing someone – maybe he enjoyed it, though that did not seem to be the case, by the reprimands he had handed out at the end of the previous exercise. But, alas, this quandary had already been analyzed by Yuushi. He had wanted to give up from this whole ordeal, free the two others from him, allowing them to progress as ninja without putting up with his antics and flaws. But he couldn’t do it. He realized that this was his last chance to make something of himself and, so, he had to take the selfish path for now, the one where he once again would possibly endanger those around him. If things did get to that point, however, he had decided to simply give up, to go down without bringing anyone with him. His ambitions were not worth the lives of others and, in the past, he had already caused his unwelcome share of deaths and suffering, indirectly. That was not happening again.

It was with these heavy thoughts in mind that the cleaning proceeded – Nomi and Yuushi relatively close, and Genji somewhere out of sight, though leaving a path clear of trash behind him. At this point, they had already entered the depths of the forest, unseen from the road and, as such, less saturated with the dregs of humankind. Nonetheless, they were still present, littering the grounds and turning the forest into a dangerous place for the wildlife to survive in. This fact was made all the more clear as Yuushi spotted something of a burning orange color, gingerly hiding behind some foliage to his right. With ample, dark eyes with some kind of hidden alarm in them, and long, fluffy ears, a small bunny stood, motionless, trying to avoid drawing attention to itself. Why an animal of this kind would act this way, instead of simply taking off at the sight of potential danger, he did not know. Despite this, Yuushi slowly trekked through the shrubbery and approached the petrified mammal, the entirety of its plight becoming quickly apparent to the Genin.

A spool of shining, barely visible ninja wire strings rested next to the animal. Coming from it, a single strand of wire was binding the animal, cutting into its hind leg and wrapping around its thin neck. Unable to escape, the bunny had resorted to laying absolutely still, in hopes of its natural, somewhat unadapted fur coat camouflaging its presence. Even as Yuushi approached, the poor thing barely moved, though became further distressed, making its ragged, troubled breathing more and more noticeable.

”Nomi, can you come give me a hand, please?” Yuushi called out, picking up the wire spool and the small mammal in his hands, as the blonde approached him. ”Can you please hold this little guy while I release him?” he asked, handing her the bunny and, taking the wire spool, beginning to unwrap the animal, using both of his hands to undo the knots that had been created.

Cleaning House [Mission, Private] MAVzALC
When Genji finally arrived, Nomi at first gave an excited wave. In response, Genji merely nodded tiredly, as if he’d not slept well in weeks. Immediately, it became obvious his time alone went worse than anyone else’s. Just from his sluggish movement, it was apparent he’d been suffering just as badly as Yuushi, although in a completely opposite way. Mentally the young Senju remained scarred from that first day their team met, but Yuushi, with his tight, fresh bandages that imprinted through his shirt, suffered physically. Like two peas in a pod, she thought to herself, as she chuckled quietly while looking at them back and forth. Surely, this was not a laughing matter, but the whole situation seemed almost.. out of place. Clearly the both of them were in pain, in one way or another, yet here they both stood working alongside one another, laboring through their pain. Even earlier in the day, the thought of neither of them showing up did cross her mind, especially since their last rendezvous. But seeing them now, in the same place.. to her this was quite unusual, almost funny. Maybe she was just happy to see them.

Returning her attention to her work, the young blonde continued, poking at this and that, even picking up a few coins along the way. Every few minutes Nomi’s attention returned to her comrades, as if she was waiting for them to speak up, and ask how the other was. Yeah, no doubt she was glad they were here, but this zero-contact situation wasn’t exactly comforting. Looking down for the twelfth time, Nomi sighed, as the silence between her friends built up a disheartened feeling inside of her. To her, this was similar to torture. Sure, she wished to speak to them, stir up some sort of conversation, but it was clear that it would never last. Nothing she could say at this point would simply mend what had been broken earlier in the month. Keeping quiet, although difficult, would have to suffice for now.

The bridge between all three genin became more and more apparent as the minutes and, eventually, first hour passed. All three attended to their own duties, eventually spreading out completely to their own respective territories. Nomi wandered closer to the river, picking up loose papers, cans, and attempting to catch anything that floated down the stream. Focusing completely on her work now, and with her basket nearly filled halfway, she set it down to check on her progress. Looking inside, Nomi’s proud smile surfaced, with her original goal to fill it completely was now only halfway. Surely, she’d fill more bags if needed, but knowing that she’d help the forest this much left her with a sense of pride.

Her attention immediately switched to Yuushi’s voice, which called out to her in the distance. Swinging her arms through the strings of the basket, Nomi hurried towards him, when she dropped the basket once more behind her and kneeled down next to Yuushi. Already holding her hands out to take the animal, she said, “Yes Yuushi, of course..” Clearly distraught as she listened to the bunny’s breathing, she used two fingers to gently pet it’s head, as it just barely fit inside her own hand. Clearly it was young, no more than a few months old and abandoned as well, since no other rabbits were seen in the immediate area. Looking down at it as Yuushi worked to free it of its’ wired prison, Nomi spoke softly to it, in an attempt to calm it down. “Shh, it’s okay, little one.. We’re here to help you. You don’t have to be afraid..

Once Yuushi pulled the rest of the wire from its’ leg and neck, Nomi’s hand immediately began to glow green, placing it over the bunny, which was now settled between her chest and arm. “Hopefully this will put it more at ease... I think.. I think I’ll take him home with me, to make sure he’s all right. I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving him here while he’s so young and without a family. What do you think, Yuushi-san?” she asked, looking up at him as she stood up again and placed the basket on her back once more. “Oh, let’s go show Genji-kun as well. Maybe it will perk him up a bit, hm?” she said jokingly, walking over to Genji, as well as continuing to pick up any loose trash along the way.

Genji-kun, look what we found! Yuushi found him trapped in some wire, but saved him. He’s cute, isn’t he?... You can pet him if you want, but just be gentle,” she hinted toward him, hoping to put a smile on his rather grim expression. Smiling at him, as she slowly lifted her glowing green hand from the bunny to show him, it seemed to have fallen asleep rather quickly while it rested in her arms.

Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Vide
PostSubject: Re: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptyWed 20 Nov 2013, 12:19 am

Almost automatically Genji kept up whit his duty. He found his own private spot where he kept on looking for any thrash that was laying spread out in the area. He half expected to be interrupted by Nomi her usual cheerful behavior but it seems aside from the greeting they all where a bit down and out of their element. The silence and the calm that followed after it might have been uncomfortable for people like Nomi but for Genji it suited him just fine. He didn't had any need for company or any pleasant conversations all he wanted to do is finish this job as quickly as possible. It was a silly thing to waste their time whit to begin and and the fact that Genji felt more tired then he ever been before didn't really seem to help all that much ether. Even tough he barely wanted to close his eyes a rest would be nice.

After picking up the last bit of stray trash in his territory underneath a large tree he slumped down against it as he started to look at everything he had gathered. Most could really be considered as trash as it where broken or already used items that was carelessly left behind by their previous owners who had been unwilling to make the small trip to the garbage bin and instead left it here to rot. And now it was unfortunate souls like them who had to gather this mess up. But sometimes between all of this trash there where also a few lucky finds. Objects that didn't really seem to be left on purpose and actually where quite usable. Aside from a few coins everybody probably came across Genji found several kunai and shuricken too. Probably carelessly forgotten after somebody came to train.

But then there where objects that weren't so common. Trinkets that could been lost at anytime by anybody. When he was done sorting trough everything he had a strange assortment of things in his hand ranging from a necklace that had snapped of somebody since the small chain that kept it together had snapped, to a simple golden ring which apparently must have slipped of somebody's finger. Holding these trinkets up in his gloved hand he watched them softly glimmer in the still early morning sun who's rays invaded trough the thick layers of leaves above them on some places. He yawns softly as he watches at the glimmering pieces of metal in the palm of his hand as he leans back. Since he had cleaned his part he would just close his eyes for a bit. A small rest wouldn't hurt he taught to himself as he quietly dozed of.

Genji found himself soon facing a rather familiar scene. He had this dream many times before and it was always the same one or at least a variation of this dream. It started whit Genji finding himself in a large lush forest much like the one he just fell asleep in. It was a oasis of peace and calm for Genji as the lush green tree's stretched out as far as you could see. Never ending rows of large tall tree's as far as you could see. A comforting and relaxing sight to be sure but it was long since Genji truly felt comfortable here since he knew what would happen next, and there was no escape from it. And soon enough as if it knew he was waiting of it shimmers of light broke trough the forest. Not the Gentle golden rays that reflected on his trinkets before. No ... red burning light that whit a roaring sound announced his worst nightmare happening all over again.

All around him suddenly the tree's started to burst down into raging flames consuming every tree as the flames surrounded the Senju slowly but steadily surrounding him as if they wished to instill as much fear and terror on him for as long as they could. Genji only stared sadly into the fire as it was always the same. Here he was alone in the middle of this inferno of flames waiting until finally the fire would put him out of his misery and he would wake up in a shock only to refuse to sleep for the next few days. But first there was one last part. Before the flames got to him he always could hear their voices. All these years and still he could hear the voices of those guys laughing at his misery , taunting him and ridiculing his clan.

But instead he heard another voice. As he waited to hear the voices of his tormentors another voice was slowly echoing trough this all. A voice that was calling out to him but the roaring of the flames made it almost impossible until he finally realized ..."Wait is that Nomi ?" Just as he taught this his eyes shot open as Nomi called out for him apparently looking for where he was. "Who ... what ... I wasn't slee ..." He didn't finished his sentence as instead a loud breaking sound resounded from where he stood. Being so sleepy he didn't noticed he fell asleep right underneath a rather low hanging branch and by jumping up from his dream he came in rather close contact whit sight branch who had lost the clash between Genji his head and itself and whit a dry breaking sound snapped of.

This left Genji groaning as he rubbed the back of his head and when Nomi finally found him he was still expressing his temporary irrational hatred for said tree who had dared to grow a branch directly above his head in rather very colorful terms. Luckily Genji didn't already was used to use his head especially in his form of taijutsu he used but it was never pleasant to receive a blow like that when you least expect it. Turning his head over at Nomi and that cursed tree to see what the fuzz was about he noticed the little bunny in her hand. "He was trapped ? Poor thing." He muttered softly as he looked at the little thing and slowly reached out to pet it whit one of his fingers running it over its small head gently to not wake it up. He seemed a bit more awake then he was when he arrived here and actually a bit relieved that Nomi her arrival had woken him up before the dream had taken the final turn for the worst. And he hoped that little thing in her arms was having a better rest then he had.

Yoroi Kaguya

As he just sat around in the tree while listening to the sound of nature around him, he often saw the kind of things most people would not even notice in their hurry to move through a place like a forest. As someone who had spent the vast majority in it while trying to survive, he had learned to get used to the sounds around him, learning to see the things that were out of the ordinary. It had been a little something that always helped him out when he was still a child. His trained eye and mind allowed him to figure out which plants could be eaten, which had faint healing properties and which were straight up venomous, sometimes figuring out first hand. Over the years, he had even learned how to talk to the animals around him and have them help him when he really needed it. It was the reason why a snake, a nest of rats and a peregrine falcon survived in his camp without ever killing one another in their sleep. Through Yoroi, animals had managed to become allies while he looked after them and had them live around him in his camp.

Even now, he could still remember the times in which he had found or saved these animals. The snake, Shakreido, he had found that one when he was on his quest to find the Ryuchi caverns and gain an animal summon in the process. After fighting a death-match with it, the two had reached the point where they could shake hands in a manner of speech. Once they had it behind them, Shakreido the snake had accepted his offer to become his personal summon and partner. Kaien, his falcon, he found him in the snow country, covered by a pile of snow and on the verge of dying due to the cold weather. The family of rats, he had found them when he was on a mission to clean out a bakery and get it back into business. They were meant to be killed, though Yoroi took them with him instead, which was exactly why they were still alive. From time to time, Yoroi whistled for some small birds that flew freely throughout the forest, interested by the fact that a human being could call out to them.

Out of interest, most flew to greet him and talk to him as they were still somewhat amazed by the fact that a human would be willing to talk to them as opposed to ignoring or capturing them as pets. Asking them to check up on the three humans that were currently cleaning their forest home for them, the birds that flocked around him cheerfully thanked him and obliged. Promising that they would tell him if something bad happened or if any other people got close to them, Yoroi sank into a more horizontal position, taking a bit of a nap while his Genin worked in the forest beneath him. It was rather unfair in some aspects, though he too had been doing these tasks when he was a Genin, though he was a lot younger than them at the time, and he did not even have a Sensei to teach them how to handle himself or behave as a Shinobi. Drifting into a nice little nap that took about an hour, his dreams involved his sister Kimiko and Toshiro having a happy life together, the three of them living in a nice little place while there was an abundance of food and comfort. Digging into a couple of juicy steaks with a lovely black pepper-sauce, he truly felt at peace.

However, when he heard Yuushi call out for Nomi, he shook a bit and opened his eyes, rising from his horizontal position and sitting up straight on the thick branch. Locating the kids by following the noise they made, he did not know exactly what had gone on, though he figured that the birds would have told him if one of them got into any trouble, or if any other people would have gotten close to their position. Leaping down from his branch, he rapidly made it towards the three of them that stood together. Though he could not see what they were doing from a distance, he had no choice but to expose himself to the others. Showing up seemingly out of nowhere, the white haired youth looked over the three of them, seeing no wounds outside of those Yuushi had sustained during their spar. What he did notice was that Nomi was busy healing a little rabbit the three had undoubtedly found among the trash. It happened all too often that animals got trapped, hurt or killed when going through the trash left by mankind, making the thing the Genin did right now into a rather noble act that made up for what the humans did to the animals, even if only a bit.

Though this animal had primarily served as food when he was still a child that had to live off of everything his traps could catch, he could not say that the image of the rabbit made him hungry anymore. This in itself had been a rather human sensation, for it had not been too long ago that he still considered most animals as nothing more than meat for him to devour. Making a few sounds that seemed weird to the humans, the rabbit made some similar sounds back, informing Yoroi that it felt well but was merely tired, Yoroi turned his attention back to his team. "This little one is doing just fine thanks to you guys, though it said that it was tired, so maybe you guys should let it sleep for a bit. Also, those birds thanked you for cleaning the forest.", he said while pointing at a bunch of chittering birds that flew above them. To the Genin, this would probably seem strange, though none of them could speak to animals.

Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Vide
PostSubject: Re: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptyThu 21 Nov 2013, 5:01 am

We have come now to the end

White shores are calling

You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms

It came as no surprise to Yuushi that, the second he was done saving the poor creature from the human-caused entanglement and it seemed to snuggle further into Nomi’s hands, the blond girl decided to swiftly heal the bunny’s wounds, her hands glowing a sort of sea green, as the damage caused to the small, no-longer-distressed mammal began to regress, causing the blood that was slowly pouring out of its wound to stop flowing outwards. Unlike Yuushi’s initial wish to help the poor thing and release it from its prison, out of pity and guilt, Nomi’s help was given out of true concern, out of sheer, pure altruism. Much like she had extended her hand to Yuushi and Genji shortly after the previous exercise, looking to clean and seal their wounds, be them physical or mental, helping others around her was clearly a part of Nomi’s personality. In fact, to Yuushi, it was apparent that this one of her dominant traits, which in conjunction with her strong determination, her will to succeed and, above all, her unrestricted efficacy to overcome hard times and unfavorable situations, being able to pull herself out of the deepest abyss, allowed her nurture up her own mood and the mood of those around her to their pinnacle, once more, no matter how badly it had previously fallen.

Yuushi, too, was determined. He, too, had a force that welled up from within him, mobilizing him to help those in need. But there was a significant difference between the two of them. While Nomi was selfless and genuinely benevolent, Yuushi could not say the same. Frankly, while his heart may be in the right place, he always had ulterior motives for their actions, whether he noticed it beforehand or not. Whether to simply go on errands for old people to get his mind off heavy thoughts he carried, or whether he found himself more or less addicted to the sensation of feeling worthy, by helping others when in distress, Yuushi always managed to end up winning something for those good deeds. Like a junky, he was addicted to the sensations, to increasing his own self worth through what he did for others, most of the times disregarding his own safety and happiness. What valor was in that?

Yuushi had always known he was highly flawed, with most of those issues – lack of self esteem, lack of determination, recklessness – stemming from his turbulent past. He had grown and lived by himself, isolated from any human being, for years on end and this, he figured, had caused his severe social inability. At the same time, however, he had managed to overcome a few of his long-lasting issues, ever since reaching Konohagakure. But it wasn’t until he was integrated into this team, until he got to have close contact with Nomi and Genji, evaluating and judging their personalities just as much as he had done to his own, for a multitude of years, that he realized just how impaired his psyche and personality had winded up. It was now, as he finally had someone normal to compare himself to, that he noticed just how screwed up he had turned out to be. And while it was quite disheartening to realize this, it was equally motivating. As you cannot change what you cannot acknowledge. Now, he could change it.

Finding himself following Nomi through a small path through the underbrush while he had been deeply immersed in his self-deprecating thoughts, Genji quickly came into sight. All by himself, he had cleared quite a bit of trash until, seemingly, he had dozed off. His protruding eyes, his initial sluggish movements and voice gave it up to Yuushi, but he seemed to recover quickly. Genji, too, began evaluating and trying to comfort the small bunny Yuushi had found, before a crackling noise was heard and their sensei, Yoroi, broke through the trees, coming from their side. Yuushi had assumed he was lingering around here, from the start, evaluating their actions and their moods as they proceeded with such a trivial mission, after a blatant failure in their previous exercise – and it seemed like he had been right, though he had had no indication that he in fact was watching them. The animal speaking, too, might’ve come as a surprised a couple of months ago but, at this point, nothing surprised Yuushi anymore. His mental fortitude was nigh depleted, not having enough for big surprises or shocks and, so, all this event got out of him was a nonchalant shrug of the shoulders.

With a nod to the information given to them by their sensei, Yuushi looked to his surroundings, as a sense of unease slowly spread through his body. He had been avoiding a group situation ever since the previous exercise, for fear he could not completely cope with it. At this point, he felt a tinge of anxiety beginning to besmirch his mood, much the same way a single, gray cloud obstructs the sun, forbidding it’s brilliant radiance from warming the peasants down below, filling them with energy. Grabbing his bag and slinging it over his left shoulder, he took a step towards the uninspected section of the forest, before turning back and voicing to the three people he was about to leave behind.
”I… better get back to cleaning the wood. The animal is safe, thanks to Nomi, and she’s capable enough to take care of it for now. The more we can accomplish in one day, the better for the forest, and the easier we will prevent similar occurrences from happening to other animals.”

Turning back once more, he trekked through the trees and plants, feeling the anxiety slowly drain out of his body with each step he took away from his team, returning his mind to a state of solace and peace. On the way, he kept picking up every piece of trash he could find, despite the fact that the deeper he explored and the closer he got to the center of the forest, the less trash he encountered. Above his head, and even higher than the dense tree tops, he heard the chirping of birds, seemingly the same birds Yoroi had mentioned to have thanked them. He had known cleaning the forest was an important activity for the sake of the fauna that called this place home. Now, however, thanks to Yoroi, he had gained a brand new perspective of the importance of it. Animals too, it seemed, were capable of complex thoughts and feelings, something that he had always wanted to believe but never had confirmation for, during his longs spells alone roaming the wild, immersed in thought and having for companion nothing more than the animal noises around him. With this warming thought in his mind, Yuushi worked twice as fast and twice as hard, for the sake of the beings inhabiting these woods, quickly piercing through the forest, reaching the other side, and cleaning everything in between. Intending to return to their original starting position, he took a different path, cleaning as he made his way as well, before he encountered Nomi, about to finish cleaning a particularly dirty patch of the forest.

”Hey, Nomi. I cleaned everything behind me, so this side of the forest should be done. Good job, you’ve done well with the bunny, thanks for taking care of it. Where is Genji?” he asked, his voice filled with self assurance he did not know he possessed, at the moment, as he made his way to the blonde and gently grabbed the heavy trash basket she now lugged around, carrying both hers and his himself, leaving her to care better for the small bunny she had with her.

Nomi smiled at Genji’s reaction to the bunny, but she also quickly noticed that his mood seemed to have lightened up. Seeing Genji revert back to his old self was difficult, since his progress over the year grew and grew, even if it was slight. Nomi took pleasure in the thought that she might’ve had something to do with this change in him, although she dismissed it. It was never about accomplishing something when it came to her friend, but rather about simply helping him along the way, guiding him if she was able, and keeping him from the darker side of his mind. In general, Nomi would happily react the same way with anyone else that required her attention, if it meant that they could live a more peaceful life. No one deserved to feel inferior or downhearted for their lineage, looks, or background. Nomi understood from the beginning that fighting to prove yourself was never easy, but with help along the way, even if the assistance seemed unneeded at the time, accomplishing your goals was possible. She also knew that Genji would have to struggle to prove himself, too, just as much as she. But along the way, these little moments - such as the one they were experiencing now – could make all the difference in the world to someone. Nomi was not afraid of creating them if it meant she could make that same difference for one of her friends.

Moments later did Yoroi make his appearance, seemingly from nowhere. Without even a hello, he began to make strange noises towards the young rabbit in her arms, and in turn, the animal apparently responded back. “Yoroi-sensei, you can speak to animals!?” Nomi asked excitedly, grinning widely as she looked back and forth between the bunny and him. Petting the small animal in her arms once more, she nodded, keeping her arm sturdy underneath it so that it would not give out or grow tired anytime soon. She wanted it to sleep soundly, without any distraction or movement. “Gosh, that is something, isn’t it?” she asked vaguely, whispering as she spoke. “Well, what I mean is.. Knowing that we’re making a difference really does make it all worth it in the end. I was excited to do this before, but even more so now, now that I know the other animals are safe.” Turning her attention to Yuushi who spoke next, Nomi nodded and grabbed her poker once more, returning to her previous area to continue cleaning.

In less than an hour, the rest of the river area was spotless and Nomi’s basket was filled to the brim. Although it was slightly more difficult while carrying the bunny, Nomi made do with her situation in order to pick up any loose trash that still floated down the river. With the animal still asleep in her arms, she made her return to the previous area, where Yuushi called out to her. His voice sounded unusually confident, especially from such an uneventful situation such as picking up trash. “Why thank you, Yuushi-san, but I’m not sure where he is at the moment. Shall we go search for him?” As the twosome walked side by side, searching for the black haired young man, Nomi grew anxious, as she wished to speak with him. As to what she wanted to say, nothing came to mind. It was just the need to say something, anything, in an effort to have an actual, normal conversation. But with her previous history, most of her words came out scrambled and ineffective. Carefully planning out what to say in her mind and then actually speaking, it still was a fruitless endeavor. Oh, just screw it. Turning to Yuushi, she immediately spoke with a gentle tone.

Hey, Yuushi-san. I.. I just wanted to say that.. Well.. I think you did a great job today too. Not just with the mission, but with helping the bunny. If you hadn’t seen it, he would’ve died out here. You saved his life. So, thank you.

Looking away immediately, with her slightly rosy cheeks hiding behind her mass of golden hair, Genji was quickly spotted out a moment later. “There’s Genji over there,” she said, now hurrying over to where he stood, clearly having already finished as well. “We’re all done in our areas, too. We should all return to the village so we can dump all of this garbage, and so I can get some food for this little one.. He probably hasn’t eaten in a long time.

PostSubject: Re: Cleaning House [Mission, Private] Cleaning House [Mission, Private] EmptySun 24 Nov 2013, 6:03 pm

Softly Genji looked up from the wounded bunny as Yoroi made his own little entrance before showing of one of his no doubt numerous skills. It seemed the Sennin was even capable of speaking to animals. Normally some people would be septic of these so called skills but he had seen weirder things himself. And even personally his clan's ability to turn their own body in living wood. Looking at this Genji his ability could have been considered way more weirder then that. He just looked a little bit surprised as some birds seem to have gathered where they stood and where indeed in a rather cheerfully mood for birds. Not the kind that flew away the moment they saw a human hanging around. He never really was much busy whit animals himself. Maybe its because of his clan or his uncles store but they always where more focused on the tree part of nature instead of the animals.

In this ocation tough he was kind of glad to know their work was appreciated at least. Even if it was just the animals like Yoroi told them it was something. It made Genji at least feel a bit more motivated to at least give this whole thing just a little more effort then he otherwise would have given it. He carefully petted the little animal in Nomi her care once more after he heard Yuushi mention they should go and finish up too. "We better get this job done the sooner the better. And i don't really feel like spending my entire day picking up trash so lets get going again." He says as he agrees whit them before walking back to where he left his own bag of thrash and opened up a new one to be filled. There was still a lot of work left to be done.

As time passed and Genji went on cleaning in peace and quite whit his part of the terrain his mood was improving rather considerably. That little nap even so small as it is had seemingly washed away his exhaustion and left him rather refreshed. As the morning had passed it had turned into a magnificent day and that even worked its magic on Genji. Well he almost felt like smiling ... or in his case more likely too look less annoyed then before. Like this he worked quietly in his own peace until finally after quite some time he was done. The other previous empty thrash bags stood against the tree he was previous resting against now all filled whit everything that didn't belonged in these parts. After giving the area one last look over he gives it a stratified look before picking the bags up when he hears the voices of Yuushi and Nomi coming closer.

Hearing her talk to Yuushi he waited till they where done before conveniently showing up from behind the tree's that where keeping him out of their sight. "Yeah I'm done whit this all here too, and its about time we go back indeed." Taking his own bags whit him he follows them out of the forest and back into the village. Now that the day had already advanced a bit it was once more bursting whit all kinds of activity. After going to dump the trash they had collected together in its proper place he said a simple goodbye to the others who also went of to do their own business, he headed of again to his own home. Looking back this in his opinion idiotic mission had helped him a bit bringing some relief to his troubled mind.

For the moment it was again good for the time being. Whatever had haunted him seemed to be gone at least for the moment. Suppressed by a simple day, a day of peace for Genji. It surprised him how this all affected him. He still bore the memories of that day whit him but for the moment he didn't seemed all to bothered by it anymore. Or rather he figured focusing his thoughts on something else could actually help him be less bothered by it. One way or another he finally figured that this whole team thing, might not be too bad after all.

Yoroi Kaguya

After the moment in which he appeared to check out why the Genin were yelling at one another from a distance and speaking to Nomi's new rabbit that they had saved from a trap, they all pretty much ignored him and went back to their tasks, Nomi being the only one who acknowledged him being there and claiming that she thought that him being able to speak to animals was quite something. Not just that, but she was also the only person who actually said a word about being happy that she could make a difference here. It was exactly what he had been wanting to hear from the group, though only one of them seemed to grasp the concept of what they were doing here today. It was about sharing an experience, a first mission of sorts that would make them realize that they were in fact on the same time. It went without saying that Yoroi did not want anyone to attack one another over a mistake the other made, just like he did not want any heroics or stupid sacrifices that had a small chance of benefiting the team. Once they realized that they were all on the same team and had to get along with one another in order to be recognized as Konohagakure's finest.

After all, they were one of the two teams that were trained by one of the village's Sennin, meaning they would have a lot of additional reputation to live up to. As such, a mission like this was probably not the most valiant one he could have sent his team on, though that was the point of the whole exercise after all. That said, he still wanted them to figure out these things by themselves, seeing as it would not be much of a lesson if he told them the reasons to everything he had them do. As such, he could understand that most of his students would not be able to like him all too much, though this was the way things had to be. Even though Nomi had taken some time to at least talk to him, the other two had just ignored him. Whatever the reason for their behavior was, it did not really matter that much to Yoroi. He was their sensei, he was not getting paid to befriend those that had no intention of being his. Hell, he was the reason they were all here, yet no one was giving him as much as a nod about the rabbit. Sure, he had done little to help, though it didn't change the fact that they were here for a single reason, because Yoroi wanted them to be there. Letting a sigh escape his lips, he came to terms with the fact that they would probably not like him.

It was like he had said to himself when they first met, them liking him did not matter, as long as they grew up to become the kind of people that would protect his village, everything would have been worth it. As he listened to the others, it seemed that they all had plans of going home already, Nomi stating that she wanted her new pet to get a bit of food too. "I have a better idea. There is a rest stop not too far from here, it shouldn't take us any more than five minutes to walk from here to there. They have a nice little restaurant inside with good food and nice people, so I am sure they can spare some room in their trashcans for the trash that most likely came from the place to begin with.", he told them, finding his plan to be a lot better than the ones the Genin had offered. Besides, if it was really something that took priority for the girl, getting the rabbit some food could be done at the rest stop. After all, it was a lot closer than having to walk back to the village. It was a nice little place where the team could socialize a bit before they would all go home and tell their family, friends or pets about their day.

Leading the way out of the forest, he reached the main road in very little time. From the road, seeing the two cylindrical buildings up in the distance was not that hard at all. If they looked closely, they would see the two buildings, one being taller than the other, having the symbol of the fire country on the side of it. Pointing in the direction of the buildings, Yoroi and Team one went on their way to their new destination.
