Hello everyone! So, my name is Nexas and I've been RPing for a few years; though I haven't done so in quite a while, so I'm rusty. I have participated in many Rps ranging from completely original stories to anime-based ones like Soul Reaper and, well, Naruto! Sadly, a lot were unfinished due to inactivity from a majority of the people, or the forum was taken down. Anyways, I hope to do well here, and I'll try to do my best! I truly apologize if my posts are lackluster for a bit.

What kind of shinobi? My idea was a shinobi that has the ability to summon a personification of his subconscious to help fight; the summon being relative to the character's base abilities. All-in-all, I was thinking of a close-to-mid type of shinobi.

Elemental Nature? I enjoy working with wind and lightning. I can do water and earth alright, but fire is iffy.

Specialties? I'm stuck between chakra-based and mental-based; though I'm leaning more towards chakra.

So basically, he will use Shadow clones to fight? cause those are pretty much that which you described, unless you're going to make some kind of Kekkei Genkai.

I see, well, figure out a good combination of elemental natures that can help you set up a decent offense/defense for your character.

Do you mean you want to use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu? because everything uses Taijutsu. Just asking because you said at first that you wanted to be a close-to-mid ranged type of shinobi, which is more like Taijutsu/Weaponry and Ninjutsu/Genjutsu =P

Well, no. Not shadow clones. Kekkei Genkai, yes. If you know a series named "Persona," it's pretty much like that. That problem with that is trying to find a way to incorporate it into the character as well as the clan I'm thinking of making.

I see, that shouldn't be too hard, as long as you find a way to balance it out. You can work it out by working with the whole Shadow Clone theory and using it to make your own stuff from that point on.

As for the specializations, are you sure you wouldn't want to get something like Weaponry or Taijutsu to go with either Ninjutsu or Genjutsu? Seems like it will balance him out more. It's up to you though =P
