You need both Weaponry and Taijutsu as an SC to have 3 Physical SC's, regardless of whether or not one of them is a sub-specialty. The rule is horrendously written, but that's basically what it means. You'd need both Tai and Wep to acquire the third specialty, and seeing as you currently have neither, it would be impossible in your current state. Also I'm about 100% sure that US doesn't allow specialty exchanges under any circumstances ever. <-- Notice the period.

Let's assume the specialties are Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary.

Either weaponry or taijutsu, are either your Primary or Secondary specialty, grants two physical SCs each, basically.

If you acquire either Taijutsu or Weaponry as a Tertiary specialty, it only grants ONE SC.

That sound clear to you madda fakkas? Because even without these restrictions, the rules on the Tertiary Specialty is that you can only gain ONE SC relating to that specialty.

So then if you have a primary/secondary as Tai, and a tertiary as Wep, you get 3, yes? Unless I've forgotten how to add 2+1...

Your original phrasing leaves out the part where one of them is a Tertiary specialty, and implies that any which way the maximum amount you can get is 3.

But... that's exactly the case... If you have Tai/Wep/etc., then you are allowed 3 physical SC's according to the rules. Identically, if you have Tai/etc./Wep, then you are allowed 2 physical SC's + 1 additional SC. In the end, no matter how you arrange your specialties, you are able to get 3 physical SC's. Unless that's not how it works, in which case the system clearly needs a damn rewrite because even I can't fucking understand it.

The case is you can get 3 SCs if one of your primary SCs is, say, Taijutsu, and your THIRD specialty is Weaponry. If your First and Second are Taijutsu and Weaponry, you can get all four.

Edit: Oooh, I see what I did wrong. I never explicitly wrote they could get all 4, if they had Tai/Weapon as their Primary/Secondary. Kind of only implied it. Whoops.

Thank you for the clarification. I actually remember someone (Trey probably) reminding me that a while ago, but it keeps slipping my mind whenever I read the SC restrictions.

Alas I believe this is the part that confused Strawberry, as it does not mention Medical (which is a potential requirement for B-rank Acrobatic). ~~Which kind of begs the question of why medical is even mentioned in the restrictions if you are required to have weaponry or taijutsu to acquire it...~~ Nevermind it's 1am and I'm tired.
