| "Retribution" Day 19
How much time had exactly passed since the information about his parents and the one responsible for their death had reached his ears was something he did not know, though it must have been at least a week. Not coming out of his quarters if he didn't have to answer nature's call, every minute of his time was spent on working out the documents and files he had found, as well as trying to figure out what the blueprints he had acquired were for. Had it not been for the monks that occasionally brought him something to eat and drink, he would probably have either starved or dehydrated himself, depending on which of the two would have come first. Despite the rather secluded way in which he had been working, he had managed to find out a lot on his own, mainly that the particular blueprint he had found entailed the creation of some kind of living clone made out of the cells of "compatible subjects". Not knowing what the latter meant, it became more and more clear why the Puppeteer had been sending in samples of blood from kekkei genkai wielding people he had taken against their will, either alive or dead. The more he found out from the documents in the briefcase, the more the content of the scroll and the blueprint made sense to him. With everything he figured out, he did not feel relieved, he felt nothing but intrigue and most of anything, he felt disgusted.
The scroll was unrolled entirely, pinned to the wall so he could turn his attention to it if he found something he had missed the first time, or simply failed to understand at first. Beneath it, notes were pinned around pictures, creating profiles of some of the people that had been disappearing over the years, names that matched with those in the briefcase. Crossing off a majority of names from Hi no Kuni's missing list, it seemed that the Puppeteer had not stopped after murdering his parents and making their bodies disappear into thin air by the time the people sent to collect and bury them arrived at the home they lived in. So far, he had over forty missing people on his list with a nearly complete biography written by the people of the medical facilities that believed they were aiding the hidden leaf. Knowing exactly which of these people were compatible for whatever nefarious plan the man had been cooking up, it seemed that he had not been able to act on some of them yet. Thanks to the information he had been working out in the past week, he learned that the Puppeteer had been taking the families of the few compatible people he had rounded up, even though these people did not all turn out to be as compatible as their parents. That however did not stop him from experimenting with their blood, giving Yoroi all the more reason to find and brutally murder the man now that children had also gotten involved.
Thanks to his job as a Protective Service Nin, he had been able to gather up all of the files regarding the kidnappings of these people. Because of it, he had been able to place a large map on the wall, placing red pins on every single one of these locations, linking them all together with a red wire, creating a rough outline that could help him get some insight regarding a possible base the man might have been erected. For Yoroi, it was a bit of hope, hope being the kind of thing that kept him from falling into a state of extreme anger because of his own inability to do his job and the fact that he had always hated his dead parents because of a lie he had been told, a lie he believed in without ever questioning it. Working this hard to find the man that had taken so much from him, the man that had taken so much from families all over the fire country and the nations bordering on it was the only thing that kept him from absolutely losing it. For everything this man had done to everyone involved, he had to pay with his life. Once Yoroi got to the point of killing him, he already knew that he would not grant him a slow one, hoping to inflict as much pain upon the man as was possible to make up for years of torment and the lie Yoroi had been living as a result of what the man had planted before he had even been born. Yawning loudly, he placed one arm on his desk, resting his chin in the palm of his hand while continuing to read.
Trusting only himself with everything he had been up to ever since he locked himself inside of his room, he had occasionally been summoning clones of his own personal creation, clones that were made for the sole purpose of gathering information and carrying it back to their summoner without the strain caused by the regular Shadow Clone. Without the aid of doppelgangers, he would most likely have been working months just to get the results he had now. Violently shaking his head to keep him from dozing off into slumber, even the clones he had summoned showed tell-tale signs of sleep deprivation. When he thought about it, he could not even remember the last time he had gotten any sleep. Summoning a total of five clones to aid the three that were already present, his room became quite crowded with exactly similar faces. Picking up a bowl of mashed potatoes and a glass of milk, he sat down on his bed, picking up a fork and starting to work down his food. Finding out that it had gotten quite cold since the monks had originally brought it to him, he kept eating just to keep himself from looking disrespectful towards the Fire temple. Working it down in a rush, he gulped down the entire glass of milk in one go before diving under the sheets. He would be no good to anyone if he was tired to the point where the people that brought him for food mistook him for a zombie. With a new batch of clones in place, he could rest knowing that his work would be taken care of. |

| Waking up several hours later, Yoroi could tell that it was but a few more hours until dawn. Slowly rising up from the sheets, he looked around him to see just how far his clones had gotten. Sitting up straight in his bed, he let his eyes scan the room, noting that his clones had gotten a whole lot of work down. Obviously, this was very much to his satisfaction as it would lead him ever closer to the man that was responsible for a lot of pain that had been inflicted upon him over the course of his life.
