Gouka took a long, slow and deep breath, fully inhaling the crisp, thin mountain air. Traveling steadily along the narrow trail, hundred meter drops to either side, the barren, rocky landscape was a far and long cry from the thick, lush forests of Konoha that the KYOBU had come to know. He traveled with a determined pace, his masked gaze barely taking notice of other travelers along the path, and that only long enough to determine how much of a threat they might poise if turned hostile. With his sensory abilities giving him more than ample warning, he found few on the path to be of ninja skills. There were only a few scatterings of travelers along the path, interspersed with the occasional ox-drawn cart, but even those gave the the black-clad figure a wide berth, citizens of Kumogakure instantly recognizing the KYOBU mask, and a few of the more savvy individuals even paling to look upon the visage of the one and only Reaper. He paid the onlookers no mind, even if their apparent fear did seem to be causing him something of a headache, if the not-quite audible hiss inside his skull was any indication. The hiss was one of many oddities he'd begun to notice of late. His chakra would have a feeling of... wrongness, every now and again, whilst performing jutsu. He would hear hissing and the dry, whisper-quiet rustle of scales when he was completely alone, and anytime he would think back on those he'd lost, he'd hear a disdainful note nothing like the Jestre persona he oft found himself arguing with. Further, there was a... disquieting sense of enjoyment tainting his kills of late. Disquieting and disconnected, almost as if felt by someone else. Something else. Further more, he was beginning to have what he was sure were false-memories. He could remember people he'd never met, quiet breakfasts he'd never had, long and detailed chats with Kirima that- he violently quenched the thought train, the jerk of his head causing one civilian to stumble back, nearly toppling off the side of the path before regaining their balance and scurrying off. He had tried to avoid giving any thought to the red head ever since he'd woken up after being rescued from the botched mission to discover more about his father's demise. Waking up, still weak and sick from the ordeal of having spent several weeks in a cave, living off condensation and raw animal flesh... The infectious wounds that had nearly killed him... The guilt his survival had brought on, knowing that a certain young blonde had given his life in the cause of saving Gouka's... And as if to fully drive his worthlessness home, a final end to the tragedy that had begun eight years ago. He was finally, well and truly, alone. Hidden beneath his mask, his scarred lips gave a half twitch, giving the faintest ghost of a dry, mirthless grin, accentuating the macabre grin already permanently etched onto his face. 'Home sweet home.' His awakening from the cavern ordeal had cemented that he had nothing left but duty and honor binding him to the village he'd been born in. The extended stay in Konoha as a failed, disastrous diplomatic liaison had been forced upon him by circumstance and convenience, but after months of pandering about, trying his best to play the part of a diplomat that had been forced upon an assassin, had finally come to a merciful end when events of his past work had come to light before the Hokage. He could only hope that the new Raikage would, in the future, not employ his assassins as diplomats, and perhaps pay better attention to their mission records at that. Whatever the case, the village gates were coming up upon him. A quick check-in and a brief identity verification with the guards, and he could report to HQ for more proper work, instead of the scraps and dregs he'd been allowed via messenger pigeon during his Konoha stay. |

| Sōsuke was exhausted, famished from his long trek back from the Fisherman's Port. He was unsettled after almost causing an incident with one of the workers there. The Genin would have to exercise more control over his emotions in the future. He had allowed his own personal feelings to obstruct his objective. If the situation had escalated, Sōsuke would have been reprimanded for his actions and the ties between the fishing town and Kumogakure no Sato would have suffered as a result. And thus, he managed to restrain himself from starting a fight and completed the mission within the time frame given. He needed a break from the repetitive nature of all the assignments he was given, hoping that things will be different from here on out. His thoughts began to wander as time went on.
"I wonder how long it will take before I reach the village..."
Sōsuke let out a sigh; his stomach growled in unison. The road back had been uneventful and he encountered only a few people along the way back. Some of them seemed apprehensive upon seeing him, although he wasn't sure why. Fujiwara was sure that the fish stench was no longer there on his clothing. He sniffed himself, making sure that the stench was indeed gone. Although he wasn't a superficial individual, he wanted to make sure that he was presentable to others. He had been taught to do so by his older brother who believed that men coming from the Shieikan dojo should not allow themselves to be looked down upon but aspire to be more than their fellow peers.
Eventually, Sōsuke saw the village gates coming up ahead and a wave of relief washed over his being. Soon he would be able to return home once again and see his brother. He noticed quite a few shinobi standing around near the gate. Some were familiar faces, the usual people manning the front and in charge of letting people in and out. The task given to them didn't suit their rank, but the job required men and women who would be able to fend off intruders. The other shinobi hanging around the plaza seemed to be either returning from a mission or just about to head off on one. It wasn't hard to tell which one which was considering the people that had just returned looked like walking zombies for the most part. He shared the same sentiments as these men, a hot shower and sleep would do wonders for him right about now.
But something caught the child's attention. There was a man that stood out like a sore thumb. He gave off the impression that he was not of the same ilk as the other people that inhabited the plaza. Most of his figure was hidden from sight due to his black cloak, but there was one singular feature that spoke volumes about his character. His porcelain mask carried a distinctive purple lightning pattern on the right side of the mask like a scar. The red line running across the mask resembled an eerie smile, making the Genin feel the need to be on guard just from looking at it. The sight of the mask reminded Sōsuke of the existence of a particular organization within the village.
"There's no doubt about it, he's part of the KYOBU."
KYOBU: the premier assassination and espionage unit that the village had to offer. It was the first time that the Genin had seen one in person. He had heard that once a shinobi had entered their ranks, their identities became classified to ensure their anonymity. Once the mask was on, their name became unimportant and their only goal was to serve the village. Most members remained hidden from the rest of society, operating in the darkness and keeping to themselves. Even those who protected the Raikage would conceal themselves from the eyes of the public. The ultimate sacrifice a shinobi could make for his or her village other than death. One that Sōsuke himself was unsure that he could take.
He was not afraid to kill those who opposed the village. Unlike others, he was willing to stain his hands in order to achieve what he wanted, but there was one reason why despite his qualifications that he could not bring himself to join. Giving up his civilian life meant that he would never see his older brother Kondo ever again. He was the reason why Sōsuke had become a shinobi so that he could protect him. If he were to become part of the KYOBU, he would never be able to live a normal life with Kondo ever again. While the unit consisted of some of the best Jōnin and Chūnin in the village, the life expectancy of their members was much shorter than their normal counterparts. The price one had to pay when you immerse yourself in the dark side of the shinobi world.
Fujiwara's attention shifted back from his thoughts to the KYOBU member that was about to clear himself out with the guards. Something compelled him to talk to the older shinobi. He couldn't discern what it was exactly, but Sōsuke's instincts had never failed him before. The younger male decided to press his luck and engage in a conversation with his senior. There was no harm in small talk. Although from the looks of his haggard posture, the man was on the brink of collapsing. Even if he couldn't read his facial expressions, the teenager could tell that the masked figure had been through hell and back judging from how he was standing.
"You look like you've seen better days, here have some water." said the Genin from behind the shinobi's field of view, hoping that he would turn around to look at the person that was calling him out. He reached into his jacket and retrieved a water pouch he had acquired during his trip back from the port and offered it to the figure but not before drinking some of it himself. |

Gouka? Gouka, where are you? Gouka! Help me! I can't- Gouka!
Son? What happened? Why did you leave her? Why couldn't you
Gouka, wait up! I'm not as fast as you! Gouka please! Gouka! Gouka!
How dare you show your face in here agai- "Papers, sir?"The KYOBU twitched out of his reverie, broken from his musings by the bored looking gate guard in front of him. Well, less of a reverie and more a waking nightmare. He'd spent more and more time brooding ever since his initial return to Kumo, after the disastrous mission he'd undertaken to find the remains of his father. All he'd managed to come back with was a broken hammer and a moldy old journal... And the weight of Kaze Mikado's life on his shoulders, a life lost in the effort of rescuing him. Waking up from his recovery... Well, the nightmare he'd awoken to, there were days where he still wished, any moment now, he'd wake up back in the cave again, still trapped. It was a small price to pay compared to the fresh hell his life had become over the past year. He dug about in his waist-belt, searching only a moment before procuring the mission papers that had seen him out of the village. True, as a KYOBU, they were not strictly necessary for him, but the office liked to keep the paperwork in order all the same, for those not so clandestine, non Black Ops missions. As he handed over the papers, he could hear a shuffle behind him as the guard disappeared for the moment (The higher your rank, the more things they checked for to be certain you were who you were). Not overtly concerning, as his sensory skills were able to discount the individual behind him as only a mere genin. More than likely just returning from their own mission, and preparing their own papers. That was his thought, at least, until the genin spoke up. "You look like you've seen better days, here have some water." He turned slowly, his masked visage looking over his shoulder to inspect the, knowing now from the sound of his voice, lad. Brown, neck-length hair, green eyes, traditional kimono jacket, the katana at his side marking him as a weapons user at the very least. The reach into his jacket prompted a brief tightening of the KYOBU's muscles before relaxing(ish) as the boy's hand pulled out to reveal a water pouch. The boy took a swig from it, before offering the pouch to the KYOBU. His first instinctive response was to simply ignore the genin. Gouka was not an overtly friendly, talkative man, and being a KYOBU had made him even less so of one. On the other hand, however... He was a Jounin. It was not uncommon for KYOBU to go on "vacations" (Hah, as if they had a choice) wherein they'd take on a genin or two, beat them into shape until they were at least chunin, then summarily disappear into the ranks once more. His superiors seems to be subtly pushing him towards it of late, with the recent string of people-orientated missions. He gave a silent, mental sigh. 'Alright. Object lessons.' Holding one hand up, he very deliberately made the seals for a jutsu. Slowly and deliberately, so perhaps the genin would be able to mimic the seals (Even if he did not himself know one-hand seals, the academy was rigorous about teaching what one-hand seal corresponded with each two-hand seal). "Gyoko Mizu." A sliver of chakra drawing forth from him, without touching the pouch, a small stream of water lifted from it- water, and only water. Lifting up the edge of his mask, a small smidgeon, he directed the water to his mouth, taking a swallow. Demonstration over, he let the mask fall back into place and the water fall back into the pouch as he canceled the jutsu. "Gyoko Mizu, Congeal Water. Not the most ideal jutsu for gathering up water, but useful for purifying 'suspect' water sources." His shoulders lifted slightly in a short shrug. "Granted, I don't believe a genin such as yourself would have access to any particularly fatal poisons, much less ones you'd drink yourself first... But, don't take it personally. KYOBU are, amongst other things, paid to be paranoid." Hearing a cough behind him, he turned to find the guard back. "All clear. Welcome back to Kumo, Jestre." Taking back his papers with a nod, he began walking through the gates, calling over his shoulder. "And try not to make sudden moves around KYOBU. It can end... Badly." SCs

| The figure turned his head around just enough to see the teenager that had called him out. The man seemed to hesitant for a moment as to whether or not he should humor the Genin and accept his offer. But the hesitation disappeared when he noticed that the older shinobi was performing one-handed handseals. Fujiwara was no stranger to the sight of one-handed seals for he had been taught about them during his time in the Academy. It was a useful skill for him because his dominant hand was often holding his katana. The water in his container began to float out from his container, inching towards its recipient. The man lifted his mask up just a bit so he could consume the water that he had produced from the Genin's pouch. Once he was done drinking, the rest of the water fell back into its container indicating that the technique he had used was finished.

The man spoke at last, describing his actions in detail to Sōsuke. Fujiwara didn't know what to expect from the older shinobi after hearing all the rumors about people in the KYOBU. He didn't find the man's actions to be strange at all, understanding the need to confirm that Fujiwara was not attempting to poison him. Sōsuke would have done the same if he were in the other man's position. But that was because he did not trust other people; he did not like the idea of leaving his life in the hands of strangers. That untrusting attitude of his led him to become a lone wolf, a trait that Fujiwara felt was also true about the man he was talking with at the moment.

"Jestre" was a name that was used in hushed tones. The man who owned this title could no longer be seen as just another shinobi. Even someone like Fujiwara who had just become a Genin knew the tales about the KYOBU member who bore a mask resembling that of a jester. The ground he walked on became corrupted earth and the flowers along the road withered in his presence. Death and destruction were his companions, following him wherever he went. With that kind of reputation, it was bound to be difficult for him to make new friends. Yet even knowing that, Sōsuke did not fear the killing machine. But then again, there were few things in the world that could put fear into his heart. A man who didn't outright kill him for offering water was not one of them.

Jestre began to walk towards the village after he had receiving clearance. Fujiwara gave him a blank stare before chuckling at the advice the man had given him. The teenager chased after the man after showing his paperwork to the guardsman. The slow pace that the KYOBU member was walking at allowed the young shinobi to catch up to the man.
"So you're the infamous KYOBU member known as Jestre. I don't know what other people think of you but you don't strike me as someone who isn't fun to hang around. Perhaps a little rough around the edge, but what kind of shinobi would we be if we weren't all paid to be sociopathic assassins for hire." The young shinobi was about to ramble on, but he realized that he had forgot to introduce himself.
"The name is Fujiwara Sōsuke, you might be hearing that name more often from here on out. Perhaps we can even work together later on." said the teenager with a confident grin.

Jestre made his way into the village proper, hefting his bag over his shoulder. His comment had derived a laugh from the genin, the sort of laugh usually given by one who did not yet have the experience to know better. Ah well. He'd have the chance to learn the lesson soon enough, with time and experience. If he was skilled enough, or just plain lucky enough, he might even survive the lesson. As he made his way, he heard the clatter of footsteps as the genin gained clearance and quickly caught up. "So you're the infamous KYOBU member known as Jestre. I don't know what other people think of you but you don't strike me as someone who isn't fun to hang around. Perhaps a little rough around the edge, but what kind of shinobi would we be if we weren't all paid to be sociopathic assassins for hire." He gave a confident grin. "The name is Fujiwara Sōsuke, you might be hearing that name more often from here on out. Perhaps we can even work together later on."It was with no small amount of distaste that Jestre considered his "infamous" status. In his opinion, the best KYOBU were the ones that know one ever heard about; nonetheless, no matter how covert, how black ops his missions, something always managed to leak into the public consciousness. Jestre suspected that such common knowledge was the result of carefully orchestrated information leaks; orchestrated to give out just enough information to keep the KYOBU in the public mind, but not enough to pin the wrong people in the wrong places at the wrong time. He imagined it was both to encourage other shinobi to strive to join the "elite of the elite;" and also to subtly remind those who might take the laws for granted, might take their duty for granted, that there was a dedicated task force for dealing with them. And they would be dealt with. Jestre considered the genin's words as he carefully formulated a reply. It appeared the genin had a few notions he might do well to be disabused of. " What other people think of me is entirely irrelevant. I have a duty to do, and I will do it, regardless of who or what gets in my way." Within his mind flashed a score of faces; dozens of lives he'd taken. Some deserving, some merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. One in particular flashed vividly, a pale face alternating between an emotionless mask and streaming with tears. He gave an internal shake, clearing the image. "On the subject of duty... Let's clear on thing up, Sōsuke. There is a vast world of difference between being a ninja and being a..." His voice curled with audible distaste. "... A sociopath for hire. Our work is necessary, and should be done to the utmost of one's ability, professionally." He inclined his head ever so slightly to the genin. "A sociopath does it simply for the thrill of the kill, and if you truly, sincerely enjoy the kill... You will be little better than a rabid dog, and more than likely would find yourself put down as such." He shook his head, quietly snorting in his mask. "As my mentor would have said, our duty isn't pretty, but better the man with regrets do it than the animal with none."The streets were busy at this time of day, crowding with villagers heading about their business. Even so, there was still a wide bubble around the black-clad KYOBU. Even if their loyalty was well known, their skills were equally well known, and only fools cared to interact incautiously with the village's elite assassin force. 'Only fools rush in where angels fear to tread.' He could detect and identify each and every individual chakra signature in the crowd, from mere civilian to hardy chuunin and greater. Each and every one, he could detect their very life force as it pulsed. And he knew all too well what it was to snuff said life out. Jestre did not regret his duties, would not shirk them... But the gods help them all if he ever began to enjoy them. SCs

| The KYOBU member took his time before responding to the young Genin. A calculative man who did not waste his breath with useless banter. Sōsuke was different from the older shinobi in some aspects. He relied on words and cunning to lull others to lower their guard. He lusted for battle, but sometimes he had more to gain from more passive approaches. Fujiwara was charismatic, a trait that the Jestre did not seem to possess. Although the Genin supposed intimidation worked just as well, if not better, for the man.

"You remind me of someone I know." Little did Jestre know, Fujiwawa was referring to himself. He didn't care much about what other people thought of him. His apathetic outlook on life made it hard for him to care about anything, with the sole exception being Kondo. He had no reservations with cutting down someone who spoke ill of his older brother. A devotion that overpowered his commitment to protecting Kumogakure no Sato.

"Hahaha, perhaps you are right." said the Genin with a half-smile on his face. He could sense the displeasure coming from the man's tone of voice. Perhaps Fujiwara was tempting fate a bit much with his former remark, but he wanted to see how the Jestre would react. The man was bound to his charge, having lost some qualities that made him "alive".

"Your mentor sounds like a wise person. Is he or she still around?" Fujiwara had forgotten that the shinobi that was walking beside was a Genin at one point as well. The infamous Jestre had to learn from someone as well. Sōsuke wondered if it was possible for him to also receive training from the KYOBU member's teacher as well. The person who helped shape the legend must possess formidable abilities as well.
The two continued to walk down the streets of Kumogakure no Sato. Sōsuke could tell that people were keeping their distance from the duo. The Genin had little doubt that it was because of the man who he was walking with. He wondered if the person behind the mask faced the same treatment when he was not wearing it. Those who wish to live must endure. Even if those we are protecting are not welcoming us with open arms. A person had to sacrifice a lot to pursue a future in their line of work. This fact was even more relevant when it came to those who chose to join the KYOBU.
Even in the shinobi world, there was a place that few dared to wander. It was not a place for everyone to reside in for it was too easy for one to lose themselves in the darkness. It changed people, the man known as Jestre must have been different before he decided to don the mask. But Fujiwara could not tell...how much of that man was still residing in there.
"Where are you heading to now?" Their walk came to a halt when the two heard a scream from the side. A man was holding a woman with a knife to her neck in front of a stand, unaware of the two shinobi that were walking in his direction.
"HELP ME!" yelled the woman, tears running down her face.
"Please don't hurt her!" yelled another man who emerged from the crowd that became to form. From the looks of it, the man was related to the woman in some manner for him to react like that.
"GET BACK! I'LL KILL HER IF YOU DON'T GET BACK!" yelled the criminal, inching his weapon ever closer to the woman's neck. A trickle of blood began to form from the nick. Fujiwara's finger twitched at the sight, his hand reached for his katana. His vision was still on Jestre, waiting for the man to make his move. |

The genin seemed to laugh off most of Jestre's speech, once again belying a certain air of youthful arrogance. Combined with JEstre's general lack of humor altogether, and it was one of many reasons he resisted being "put on leave" in order to "help train up the next generation of young shinobi." Hah. The best lessons they could ever possibly hope to learn were out in the field, provided they survived them. Jestre had had minimal help from his sensei Mongoose, true, but that had simply been granting the skills and groundwork, much like creating a mold for a blade. It had been the fires of hardship and the hammer blows of tragedy that had truly shaped him to fit the mold. "Your mentor sounds like a wise person. Is he or she still around?"Jestre glanced from the corner of his mask. There was an unmistakable hint of eagerness and enthusiasm to the boy's tone, quiet and toned down, but there. He knew that tone; he'd heard it frequently enough before. Some young academy hotshot would happen across the KYOBU (which he rarely allowed if he could help it) and, finding him to be an unfriendly face, sought to see if they could learn from the master of the master instead. Such was it always whenever the topic of his mentor arose. Thinking back, he could still easily remember the pale-skinned, narrowed faced man with spiky grey hair and amber eyes who had spent two four years helping him get back on his feet. There were days he would have given anything to hear his mentor's advice once more. "My mentor, Mongoose, has been dead for some years now. As is usual for KYOBU, the details of his death will likely remain classified until long after anyone alive today has passed from the mortal coil." He continued at a steady pace, ignoring the frightened, startled faces of various villagers as the crowd parted before him. The price of being a KYOBU; they would live forever in fear and wariness of a man of his dangerous caliber, and he would one day lay down his life saving them from a threat they would never be allowed to become aware of. "Where are you heading to now?" 'I am heading to HQ to get a new mission assigned, and you are going away long before then.' Before the thought could depart JEstre's lips, a scream interrupted the conversation. Spinning on one heel in mid-stride, he came facing the direction of the scream crouched down, already assessing the situation with a myriad of perceptive skills. There would be no rest for the wicked, it seemed. On a sensory level, Jestre knew that the targets before him were merely civilians; the spin and crouch had simply been a gut-reflex, from which he stood up slowly, his body twisted ever so slightly to the side, presenting himself in profile as his arm, hidden from view, slipped down to grip a dagger. His eyes now on the scene, he more properly took in the view; a rough-faced, brown-eye and brown haired thug holding a knife to a woman's throat, a pretty blonde thing. Another blonde man was trying to plead with him; family to the trapped woman, most likely. A thin trickle of red slipped down the woman's throat. "Get back! I'll kill her if you don't get back!" His eyes swept the crowd wildly, daring anyone to take a step close- and then they locked upon the KYOBU. Even a casual observer could see it, the way his eyes stopped in their sockets, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water as his face slowly drained of color, becoming a pale, doughy looking white, stained with sweat. Some days, it truly surprised Jestre beyond all ends that violent crimes occurred at all in hidden villages. They almost never got away with it, and those who did were ninja to begin with. He cocked his head ever so slightly to the side as the man finally managed to get his breath back, stuttering in nervous fear. "G-g-g-get b-back. I'll k-k-kill her, I will!" There was little in the way of conviction in the man's eyes; he knew the moment the woman was dead, he lost any and all leverage from preventing himself from becoming a corpse as well. Not that it would have stopped Jestre in most situations, but in front of so many witnesses, it was bad PR to get a civvy killed. Still staring at the man, he spoke slowly. "Open casket, or closed casket." The thug looked uncomprehending for a moment, before his eyes widened in terror, his already pale face blanching even further at the implications of the simple little statement. He trembled visibly, eyes darting once again. "Man, fuck you! Fuck you! I'm not going down alone, so fuck you!" At this moment, the man made the exceedingly costly mistake of taking his knife from the woman's throat to point at Jestre with it. It wasn't much, but for a man of Jestre's speed, it was enough. He moved. There was something to be said of the skill involved from going from a standing start to top speed in the breathe of an arm swing. Before the man's eyes could do much more than begin to widen in surprise, he had crossed the intervening space at a speed that would have, at best, rendered him little more than an imperceptible blur and, at worst, required the usage of a Sharingan to even notice. The blade and arm of the man passed over Jestre's shoulder as he rose up under it, the curved dagger plunged right between the man's eyes. Using the momentum of the stab and his positioning, which essentially hooked his arm around the other man's, he pushed the corpse away from the woman, before slamming him brutally down backwards across the top of the fruit-stand he had taken his hostage in front of, pinning his skull to the wood. The corpse twitched once, then no more. A hush swept over the gather civilians. Holding her hand lightly to her neck, the woman stared shocked into space for a few moments before abruptly bursting in heaving sobbing tears of relief, or possibly fear. Her knees started to buckle before the other blonde man swiftly caught her, hugging her close as she was wracked with sobs, both of them sinking to their knees. He glared at the KYOBU over her quivering form. "You maniac! You almost got her killed!"Jestre looked slowly over his shoulder. Jerking his knife with a wrench, the corpse slid down to the ground, leaning against the stand, eyes staring blankly as the open wound between them slowly dripped. A trail of red marred the side of the fruit-stand, and if the vendor was still around to decry the damage, he was wisely keeping his mouth shut. He wiped his knife on the corpse's shirt, sheathing it before walking past the glaring man and his sobbing... sister, wife, what have you. "She'll live." He turned once more to the genin who had been following him. "... Sōsuke, was it? I trust you can handle things from here." Without another word, he put his prodigious speed to work once more, leaping to a rooftop in a single bound before vanishing in a blur, hopping from roof to roof as he made a beeline for the Administration Building, and KYOBU HQ. There would be no missions today; he would have to spend it filling out paperwork for the civvy he had killed. Necessary, but tedious. He tried not to dwell on the momentary thrill, completely unrelated to the brief vent of his frustrations, that he had felt as the knife had plunged in. [Exit] SCs

Name: [Tier III] Flash Speed Rank: A Type: Physical Prerequisites: Character must have the “Advanced Speed” Special Characteristic. Training: A 1600 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic. Restrictions: The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties. Description: Years of training one’s speed has lead them to the next evolutionary step in their ability. The shinobi can now go up to thrice as fast compared to others of equal rank. On top of this large speed boost, those with this speed can essentially outrun cheetahs and even appear as a swift blur to unsuspecting bystanders who happen to notice the character. Unfortunately, the high speed training does very little in further improving one’s already great stamina.
Name: Improved Perception Rank: C Type: Mental Based Physical Requirements: N/A Training Requirements: A 600 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic. Description: The ninja trains their skill in perception and analyzing their environment to more distinct levels. Most physical motions are identified and picked up by the ninja whether its a movement in a leaf or a change in temperature. This skill is handy when faced with Genjutsu as it allows the user to identify the fact they are in an illusion in less time and with less clues than one would otherwise need. However although they can sense the Genjutsu they must rely on other methods of breaking the spell. The ninja also becomes extremely perceptive and observant when it comes to people, being able to pick out mood changes or better understand character. In addition, this skill becomes useful in combat, where the Ninja grows to understand the patterns, habits and the 'rhythm' of the opponent over periods of time.
Name: Sensor Ninja Rank: B Type: Chakra Based Physical Requirements: N/A Training Requirements: An 1200 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic. Description: The ninja awakens a dormant talent they've possessed and develops a new type of sensory. Now being classified as a "Sensor Ninja" the ninja is capable of detecting the presence of other people through their chakra. A sensor can detect their targets from a great distance which can extend 100m, as well as differentiate the characters by their signature chakra alone. They can pin-point any individual within their sensory limit even if they are surrounded in a crowd and even locate other sensor ninja. A sensor can determine a person's location and chakra capacity when in a locating position.
