Whilst every Shinobi goes through the same regimen of intense training as they endeavor to become the militaristic force for their village, each of the said Shinobi has many unique things that they possess to enhance or detriment their own skill set as they work to serve the village. Some of these aforementioned individual traits might be brought on as a bout of genetics, while others might have been gained through further training from one's elders elders or as a direct result of various other variables. Whatever their origin, each of these abilities give a varied and useful flavor to each Shinobi and as such are known as "Special Characteristics", all of them being valuable traits which separate one Shinobi from another in terms of skills or abilities. They can vary heavily from each individual and their subsequent talents, where some may be physically stronger, others may have a tremendous chakra supply, and others still might have been reputed to be the fastest of all Shinobi.  With that being said, there are many types of special characteristics and it is important to discover which ones suit your character the best as the number that you can possess is limited, and even further certain characteristics require you to specialize and train in a certain field before you can be eligible to obtain them.

There are two overall categories for Special Characteristics to group the six specialization areas that will be explained below. The first group and by far the largest, is Combat Oriented Special Characteristics, which entails Physical Based Characteristics, Mental Based Characteristics, Skill Based Characteristics, Chakra Based Characteristics. Sub specializations located within the Combat Oriented Category can as the name implies be used in combat oriented scenarios. The Second Category is Social Based SC, which although it only contains one sub section, details characteristics that can only be used in social oriented scenarios as the name implies and have little to no impact on combat situations beyond effecting the social and or mental environment of your character. Affliction Based Special Characteristics may fall under both of the larger categories depending on the specific ramifications of the affliction.

Physical Based Characteristics:
This category of Special Characteristics is centered mainly around traits relating to the physical body of the ninja. Many of these involve heightening the  natural abilities of the body to a incredible degree through vigorous training and skill. A large degree of them are most beneficent to ninja who specialize in close quarters combat as it augments many of their techniques and fighting ability. As such, those who specialize in the art of Taijutsu or Weaponry will oft take a number of these characteristics as it allows them  to acquire such key skills. Some characteristics that fall under this category include increase Speed, Strength, Evasion, or even One-Handed Seals. The training regimen for physical based special characteristics include spending long hours training your muscles from weights, sparring, or whatever creative methods relative to your training.

Chakra Based Characteristics:
This category of Special Characteristics is centered around the different possible aspects of a ninja's chakra. While it is not the largest category, nor the most varied it still holds various aspects that can be key to your character's development. Chakra based special characteristics are focused on transcending one's unique chakra abilities or type to a more powerful level, allowing them to increase their chakra levels to rival that of a Jinchūriki  or even at the higher levels of this category, create their own elemental combination. Some characteristics that fall under this category include characteristics that allow a character to increase their natural Chakra Capacity, gain the ability to Sense Chakra or even allowing yourself to train an additional element and access a second kekkei genkai for more powerful ninja. The training regimen for chakra based special characteristics vary depending on what you're trying to train, but most of which require deep meditation, training in a specific element or area, or whatever methods you can create.

Mental Based Characteristics:

This category of  Special Characteristics centers around amplifying the power of a ninja's mind. They focus around improving a ninja's mental capacity and skill to a exceptional degree through innate skill and mental training. Unlike some of the other forms of special characteristics, these do not require certain specializations but they do require a ninja to possess a patient and steady mind. The brain is a very powerful tool and those who peruse characteristics in this category may have access to parts of their mind people would think impossible. Some characteristics that fall under this category include Tracking Abilities  and Perception Increases. The training regiment for mental based special characteristics include spending long hours in mediation, training the mind through various games, or whatever creative methods you can think that trains the mind.

Skill Based Characteristics:
This category of Special Characteristics centers around dictating advancements in regards to the varied specialties that a Shinobi can obtain. SCs within this section will often allow for a Ninja to gain extra abilities in relation to their specific skill areas that are seen as a measure of their capability or mastery in said areas. Whilst many of these will revolve around the seven specialty categories that are allotted for a user to utilize, but some might dictate their skill with even more specified attributes such as their clan abilities or their familiarity with summons. Special Characteristics that can be found in this category are things such as, Ninjutsu Mastery, Genjutsu Mastery, Medical Chief and Clan Prodigy. Because of the skill capacity that many of these SCs imply, a large majority of them are limited to higher ranking Shinobi.

Social Based Characteristics:
The Social Based Special Characteristics category is centered around allowing a Shinobi to better elaborate on non-combat aspects of their character and as such these SCs allow for a ninja to have a dynamic personality in how they may react in a social environment. This can add certain elements of conversation and activity between different kinds of people. Social SCs are allotted fewer slots than Combat SCs, though users may possess more than the allotted slots of Social SCs if they are willing to sacrifice a Combat SC slot for it. Special Characteristics that fall under this category are things like Chakra Aura, Animal Speaking or Street Smarts. Whilst they have absolutely no impact on a character's combative ability, they can add a fair bit of flavor to the social interactions between characters.

Affliction Based Characteristics:
Afflictions Based Characteristics can be seen as both a part of and completely opposite to Special Characteristics in some regards. As the name implies they act as negative aspects or attributes in regards to a character and act only to apply harmful effects to your characters. As one might imagine, they will provide no benefit to your character, or at least none that outweigh the severely detrimental effects. Afflictions are a disease, and illness, anything one can think of, with negative effects on one's health. Perhaps one gets memories from a clone that are too real, and are stricken with the memory of their own death. Perhaps they suffer some terminal disease, and will not live past 30. Maybe they're just color blind or even completely blind. Whatever the case, one can only reasonably have a certain number of afflictions before being unfit for a shinobi career. Exceptions will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Users will also not be allowed to start with an affliction of a higher rank than their character, unless granted Admin approval.

There are currently only a few Open Afflictions, and as such users are encouraged to create one if the so desire. However, users are not by any measure required to have an Affliction Based Characteristic. They are entirely optional, and as such, it is left to the user to design their own unique debilitating weakness to inflict on their character.

Special Characteristic Rules


Although there may be a temptation to attain the numerous special characteristics that spark your interest, there is unfortunately a maximum amount of special characteristics you're able to possess depending on your ranking. These limitations exist to separate a simple ninja from a god, and keep a fair balance between all ranks and characters. If you wish to change a special characteristic you can simply ask a mod to remove it which leaves you a empty slot to train for another.

Please note that when a Special Characteristic is updated or removed from the encyclopedia, the old version becomes void. It's your responsibility to check the updates and ensure that you keep your application up-to-date.

Starting Special Characteristics:
In regards to Starting SC's all Characteristics must be at the lowest possible ranking within that category, regardless of your ninja ranking. In order to rank up your SC's accordingly, they must be trained. ie: An A Jonin must start with the C - Rank Enhanced Speed Special Characteristic in alternative to the A - Rank Flash Speed Special Characteristic, but they can train it up to A-rank in character once they have been approved.

Physical Special Characteristic Limitations:
Given the power that the they grant, the four main Physical Special Characteristics (Speed, Strength, Evasion and Endurance) grant, the following limitations have been issued upon them to better balance their distribution. Firstly, at any given time a Shinobi can only possess one S - Rank Special Characteristic of these four characteristics. This means that if you choose to invest in the Lightning Speed Characteristic you cannot also obtain the Titan Endurance Characteristic.

Further, only Shinobi who specialize in both Taijutsu and Weaponry can obtain all four of these characteristics (with the above limitation implied). Those who possess only Taijutsu or Weaponry in combination with one of the other five specialties can only take a maximum of two out of four of these specific characteristics. A Shinobi who already possesses Taijutsu or Weaponry in combination with one of the other five specialties and elects to take either Taijutsu or Weaponry as their tertiary specialization can possess up to three of these four special characteristics. And finally, a Shinobi who does not have either Taijutsu or Weaponry upon approval but elects to take either one of them as their third specialty can only access one of these limited characteristics.

These limitations do not supersede or overwrite any limitation(s) or requirements written into the Special Characteristic Specifically.

Special Characteristic Clarification:
Although many of the Special Characteristics may have superfluous or dramatized phrasing in the description, it does not mean that such attributes should be attributed to those who posses the SCs in terms of Player Versus Player Roleplay Combat, when they should be taken with a more conservative mindset. In the context of missions or social threads, the traits of these dramatically described SCs may be acted upon in a more liberal fashion, but only in the appropriate context. All users should keep in mind that the Special Characteristic system was chosen in lieu of a Stat System to dictate the differences in various areas of skill or ability between two characters, but despite the nature of their descriptions one should use them with a logical and realistic mindset.

Training for multiple Special Topics can be done in the same topic, but must be done in the same post.

Purchasing Special Characteristics:

Due to the vast number of words one must write for special characteristics to rank up, we as Staff realize that writing Special Characteristics can be too tedious on newcomers and veterans trying to explore their creations while ranking up. In lieu of this, we have implemented a system which allows one to purchase Special Characteristics. It should be noted that each level is purchased, unlike jutsu where buying S Rank grants you all tiers.

Since we do want a healthy balance of writing, we don't want to incentivize purchasing SCs over writing out training. This option is for those that feel like SC training may be a bit challenging to write.

To obtain the Ninjutsu Master bonus at B-rank the cost is 10 AF while the A-rank bonus is 15 AF. Clan Master at A Rank is also subject to moderator discretion depending on the special effect, but be prepared to spend. It should be stated that it is not possible to train Special Characteristics half way and buy the rest. You either buy it or train it, there is no in between.

Speed Related Physical Characteristics:

If one possess Weaponry or Taijutsu as a Primary specialty, with one other specialty, and acquire Weaponry or Taijutsu as a Sub-Specialty, they may possess up to any three of them.
[b]Description:[/b]  After training relentlessly in cardiovascular and high speed movement, shinobi are able to greatly increase their overall stamina and movement speed. Those talented with this speed are capable of running with speed a man greater than their peers and even last a bit longer during extraneous activities without becoming exhausted. This boost in speed is usually enough to quickly catch escaping targets or outrun most regular citizens.

[b]Description:[/b] Further training in high speed movement has given the shinobi valiant speed that can perform olympic sprinters with no effort. By now, the ninja can run twice as fast as their untalented peers, and can usually run for miles on end without breaking a sweat.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier III] Flash Speed

[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Advanced Speed” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1600 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] Years of training one’s speed has lead them to the next evolutionary step in their ability. The shinobi can now go up to thrice as fast compared to others of equal rank. On top of this large speed boost, those with this speed can essentially appear as a swift blur to unsuspecting bystanders who happen to notice the character. Unfortunately, the high speed training does very little in further improving one’s already great stamina

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier IV] Lightning Speed
[b]Rank:[/b] S
[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Flash Speed” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 2000 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties. Character may not have the “Herculean Strength”, “Titan Endurance”, or "Elite Evasion" special characteristics.
[b]Description:[/b] OOver a decade or two of constant adapting and training in one’s physical attributes has finally lead them down the path of speed. Having chosen speed as their dominant ability, shinobi with such talent are able to move four times faster than the average ninja of equal rank. Their speed is so great in fact, that should they hit their top speed, they can essentially become nothing more than a phased blur from the high-speed movement. The movement is so fast, that little beyond the Sharingan or exceptionally keen perceptive abilities can spot them.
[b]Trade Off:[/b] While users of this characteristic are indeed fast, such speed comes at a price; when hitting their top speed, they can only move in straight lines, and require significant room to come to a full stop. Reckless users may find themselves plastered into a wall more often than not. Furthermore, their speed is so great, that users have just as much difficulty as their foes in actually seeing their movement. As such, users generally find it necessary to slow down when outright attacking, to ascertain their attack is actually heading towards the right target.

[b]Description:[/b] Countless hours, days, weeks and even months of lifting weights, muscle stretching, exercise and pure raw-power training has built the shinobi’s strength to something comparable to an ferocious animal. These ninja are so talented in strength, they can lift objects over their own weight, and strike with the ferocity of one man greater than their peers. This boost is usually enough to cause serious damage to an enemy with a mere punch or kick; causing substantial bruises to their enemy and maybe fracturing bones.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier II]Immense Strength
[b]Rank:[/b] B
[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Improved Strength” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1200 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] Further training in the art of killing and brute force has lead the ninja down a road full of power. They can now lift objects up to two times heavier than they are, and their physical strength has also improved to about twice as great compared to ninja of equal rank. By now the shinobi can punch a log in half, and even crack stone with their bare hands. The increase in strength has also blessed them with the ability to jump significantly higher than their peers, though this not exactly a useful benefit. Smaller bones are easier to break with full powered punches or kicks.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier III] Ferocious Strength
[b]Rank:[/b] A
[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Immense Strength” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1600 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b]  By now, the shinobi has trained more than vigorously in strength; spending several long years in this incredibly tasking feat. Very few have ever passed this point, and for good reasons. With thrice the physical strength of ninja equal in rank, those with this talent in strength have been known the shatter rocks with a mere punch, and destroy walls without even expending a drop of chakra. The strength is so great, weaponry users can cut iron and steel in half with enough focus; and most are able to lift upwards of five times more than they weigh. This level of strength makes it easy to break bones with well practiced taijutsu or weaponry attacks.

[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have “Ferocious Strength” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 2000 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties. Character may not have the “Lightning Speed”, "Titan Endurance", or “Elite Evasion” special characteristics.
[b]Description:[/b] Decades of physical training have lead the shinobi down the fortunate path of destruction. With strength that is said to rival Gods, those with this talent can wrap metal with their bare hands and even dent sheets of steel with punches. Arbitrary defenses such as shields become useless to someone with twice the strength than the average shinobi of their rank, and by now they can lift objects ten times heavier than them; boulders becoming nothing but a training mechanism at this point. Getting hit will definitely break bones at this level.
[b]Trade-Off[/b]: While those of such indomitable strength may be able to rend steel with their bare hands, their bare hands are still mere flesh and bone. As such, users as easily capable of hurting themselves if they make full use of their strength. Broken bones, torn muscles, are all equally likely.

Endurance Based Physical Characteristics:

[b]Description:[/b] Conditioning ones body in the art of pain has allowed for the ninja to have a heightened physical endurance. These ninja are so talented in dealing with pain that they seem to only feel a quarter of the pain that their peers would. This boost is usually enough to prevent the feeling of serious damage to the person from a mere punch or kick.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier II] Immense Endurance
[b]Rank:[/b] B
[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Improved Endurance” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1200 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] Further training in the discipline of dealing with injury has allowed for the shinobi The possessor of this talent has an increased endurance of double that of their peers which makes them considerably tougher. They are near immune to the sensation of pain from attacks equal to this rank which allows them to fight under harsh circumstances with normal efficiency.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier III] Ferocious Endurance

[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Immense Endurance”” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1600 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] The second last level in the art of endurance, having being only accessible to those who have undergone intensive training in increasing their raw power. The possessor of this talent has an increased strength of thrice that of their peers which makes them remarkably tougher and harder to down. At this stage their endurance has transcended so high that they are now immune to the sensation of pain, even at a point where others would have passed out.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier IV] Titan Endurance
[b]Rank:[/b] S
[b]Type:[/b] Physical
[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have “Ferocious Endurance” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 2000 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties. Character may not have the “Lightning Speed”, "Herculean Strength, or “Elite Evasion” special characteristics.
[b]Description:[/b] The last level in the art of endurance, having being only accessible to those who have undergone decades of training in the face of pain, has led the shinobi to have endurance like that of a titan. The possessor of this talent has a phenomenal pain tolerance, amounting to five times that of their peers which makes them supremely tough to keep down. At this stage, their endurance boasts that of superhuman levels with shinobi able to withstand life-threatening injury for a heightened amount of time that other shinobi would be dead in their tracks.
[b]Trade Off:[/b] While users of this characteristic are exceptionally durable, it comes at the price that they are never fully aware of just how much damage they have taken. Their leg bones may be pulverized to dust, and they would not notice until the leg stopped worked, or the bone jutted out. It is not unheard of for such people to drop dead on their feet, unaware of their own organs failing them.

[b]Restrictions:[/b] Amongst the Speed, Endurance, Strength, and Evasion SCs, members may only possess two of them, unless they possess both Weaponry and Taijutsu as their Primary and Secondary Specialties. If one possess Weaponry or Taijutsu as a Primary specialty, with one other specialty, and acquire Weaponry or Taijutsu as a Sub-Specialty, they may possess up to any three of them.
[b]Description:[/b] Although all Ninja to some degree are renown for their evasive and slippery nature a possessor of this SC has trained to the point where they have begun to master not only the basic forms of evasive maneuvering, but they have also developed a small degree of Kinesthesiology (Bodily Knoweldge) increasing their natural mobility and flexibility.  The suitability of the ninja increases as they are now capable of executing quicker flips, twists or dodges than their peers.

[b]Name:[/b] [Tier II] Enhanced Evasiveness

[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Improved Evasiveness” Special Characteristic.
[b]Training:[/b] A 1200 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic.
[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu, Weaponry, or Medical as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] Compounding upon the gains of the 'Improved Evasiveness' Special Characteristic, a possessor of this SC has progressed to an adept level of mastery over their own body, not only through their own flexibility, but also of their surroundings and standing, thus they have become more proficient in regards to evasive maneuvers and general agile movements. At this stage a Shinobi has become notably more flexible than their peers which in turn allows them to contort and bend their bodies in ways that make them quite difficult to hit within combat.

[b]Prerequisites:[/b] Character must have the “Enhanced Evasiveness” Special Characteristic.

[b]Restrictions:[/b] The Character must have either Taijutsu, Weaponry, or Medical as one of their specialties.
[b]Description:[/b] Through intense regimes of training and a great deal of stretching, a possessor of this SC has now approached the tier of master in regards to their own Kinesthetics and as such retain a level of flexibility and agility that one might find common among career contortionists. [b]Description:[/b] The ninja awakens a dormant talent they've possessed and develops a new type of sensory. Now being classified as a "Sensor Ninja" the ninja is capable of detecting the presence of other people through a unique application their chakra. This sensory ability has two main facets of function. With the first the user must remaining focused and stationary and as a result the sensor will be able detect their targets from a great distance which can extend to a maximum of 100 meters. In this state they are capable of differentiating a character by their signature chakra alone to such an extent they can pin-point any individual within their sensory limit even if they are surrounded in a crowd as well as the size of their targets' chakra reserves. In the midst of combat, this ability is far less refined as the user is unable to maintain the proper focus. Without the proper time and effort a Sensor is only capable of utilizing their basic sensory at a maximum of 20 meters and the details they gain are far less specific. They are only able to recognize those of a familiar chakra signature with ease and beyond that their abilities are limited to a sense of vague location with no clues in regard to the actions or abilities of their opponents. It's not possible to sense without at least a minimal amount of effort, regardless of whether the enhanced or less refined senses are being applied. If multiple people are in close proximity to each other, it becomes harder to differentiate between chakra signatures. At max range, if people are within 5m of each other, their chakras become muddled. If the targets are within 20m of the sensor, their chakra only becomes muddled if they are within 1m of each other.

Their movements no longer create sound and they now gain a natural skill for hiding and camouflage. Along with being able to create no sound, the ninja is now able to suppress their chakra and hide from sensors among a crowd of people, and, when they make an effort, can approach a sensor more closely (5m passive stealth; 10m active stealth) without being detected, even when traveling solo.

The speed and number of these Hand Seals for a technique is the same as as standard Hand Seals, with the speed increasing if any of the Hand Seal Speed Special Characteristics are taken.

They gain a skill which allows them to identify a persons illness from a general observation which makes them good in determining what parts of the body must be healed to ensure patient survivability. From continuous knowledge in poisons and pathogens the medic also can instantly identify and create medicine for B-Rank Poisons with proper supplies.

They can identify injuries a person possesses from a single glance and can treat them accordingly. From their knowledge of poisons the medical ninja now has enough skill to create antidotes for virtually any poison given a sample and proper supplies.

Because of this, the user's clan based attacks cost 20% (rounded up) less chakra to perform, as well as an increased power and size.
[b]Special Effect:[/b] Possessors of this Special Characteristic can also grant their own spin to their clan techniques, setting them apart and identifying them as Prodigys. Given the diversity of clans and clan abilities, such distinguishing marks are left to the user's imagination. This effect is purely aesthetic.

[b]Description:[/b] The title given to those elite ninja who've become legendary for their power and mastery over their clan's own secret arts. Being classified as a prodigy during their early years, the ninja has now mastered his clans techniques and has attained great power from their continuous training. The ninja's clan based techniques now cost 40% (rounded up) less chakra to perform and each technique is bolstered both in their power and size. The user can now more effortlessly manipulate the clan's secret element/power even to extent of generating an innate resistance to attacks of the same nature allowing them absorb or nullify such attacks that are of lower rank than the user, although they're still capable of feeling great pain when doing so.

[b]Special Effect:[/b] Possessors of this Special Characteristic can also grant their own spin to their clan techniques, setting them apart and identifying them as Masters of their clan arts. Given the diversity of clans and clan abilities, such distinguishing marks are left to the user's imagination. This effect can allow you to make small individual advancements or changes to your clan abilities, these abilities may not grant you a large boost in power, but can add a strategic advantage to your character. This effect is open for discussion with the moderator of your application and may or may not be denied, much like a custom special characteristic.

Being well versed in genjutsu, that are additionally capable or recognizing any techniques they personally possess.

Their Illusions are extremely difficult to overpower while being no more difficult to discern their mastery of the mind’s chakra pathways make it extremely difficult to overpower their chakra within their mind. The user can create illusions with such ease and prowess that their illusions cost 40% less chakra(rounded up). Being well versed in genjutsu, that are additionally capable or recognizing any open genjutsu techniques.

[b]Description:[/b] The ninja gains the ability of increased power in their smell and hearing abilities. In combat, the ninja can sense the smell of their opponent(s) or target object over a certain range. The sense of smell allows them to keep tabs on the opponents clothing, blood and various other exploitable scents that the target may have. The ninja also gets an increase in their ability to hear, able to hear minute sounds and differentiate the direction and sources of sounds. The increase in these senses allow them an effective range of 20m around their person. With the user becoming extremely focused  without manipulating chakra for jutsu/combat after a post, these senses expand to a maximum of 120 meters, allowing them to pick up clues and locate nearly and subjects' movement through direction and natural instinct. There is no limitation on what could be tracked in this range, as if given enough clues and leads the ninja can even track a person across the globe. (Information needs to be gained through logical means when tracking someone, given the potential of the SC to metagame information.)

Like the obvious benefits of being very smart, the ninja may be well regarded for their great mathematical and thinking abilities.

Whether they may have gotten their start mastering games such as Chess, Go or Shogi, there is little to no doubt that those possessing this Special Characteristic will likely ascend to the level of a great General or wartime adviser to the Daimyo themselves. They are marked by their impressive abilities to plan and perceive at levels that generally surpass their colleagues.

[b]Description:[/b] A rare characteristic that one develops which allows them to understand and communicate with animals. Verbal exchange is common amongst those with this ability as the user will literally alter their voice to mimic the animal their speaking to as a way of communicating. More advanced people are even capable of feeling the emotions and pain of animals as well, although that requires physical contact. Animal Speaking is a very useful skill because they can manipulate animals to accomplish tasks, such as acting as scouts or gathering information they have already witnessed. Animals that serve as familiars to specific clans or people such as Kakichu Bugs, Inuzuaka dogs or summons, cannot be controlled due to their loyalty to their owners.

When out in the field the cooking ninja can use their surroundings to make food for their teammates or themselves. Because of their skill Cooking Nin tend to work at restaurants in the villages which gives them a steady income of Ryo and reputation amongst their villagers, especially Akimichi.

Blindness Affliction Characteristic:

[b]Description:[/b] A blind shinobi is obviously unable to visually see, something that could be considered a disadvantage; however without having to rely on their eyes, a blind shinobi's other sensory abilities improve drastically. This rapidly improves their sense of smell, sense of touch, sense of hearing, sense of taste, sense of temperature, sense of time, sense of pain, sense of balance and acceleration and their sense of perception, whilst being able to fight and use these senses to 'see' as motion.
