“Awh look at your cute little self.” Mokuzai leaned down while looking towards the squirrel climbing up the tree in front of him. He wasn’t one to take nature by the hand and shake it while pure belief that it helped out the human world, but he could take in some beauty, and yet with beauty comes destruction. It was his mindset the past few days, weeks, maybe even months. He didn’t really take time to actually see how much time has passed since his act in the fire country. It took too much effort to make sure that he was keeping alive most of the time while on the run. That was more than enough things to keep his mind busy without thinking about time. Mokuzai’s body bend backwards at his waist while looking up the tree that the mammal decided to climb up with much haste compared to the innocence it had a few moments ago.
He noticed that the squirrel was doing something odd with his grip on the loose tree bark that he passed with his body. One paw was focusing on another activity while the other did one other command. It made Mokuzai think about his own tools and how he chose to use them as one item instead of separate. He’s heard of ninja that were able to do hand seals with only one hand, and keeping their other grip on a kunai or dagger to use once they got up-close and personal. It caught his interest with how he could incorporate himself and his own jutsu with the one handed seals deal. He looked down to his hands, with their palms facing his darkened orbs for a few seconds. “It doesn’t seem too bad. It’ll just be like learning how to grip things again, is all? I just can’t fuck it up or I’ll make something explode. That’ll be a bit messy for my grave.”
Mokuzai sat in front of the tree while crossing his legs over each other so that his back could press up against the bark. It could just be like practicing to do seals with both hands, only incorporating and separating his chakra into the different sides of his body. Seemed like it would be a legit method to gain these one handed seal techniques right? Mokuzai squinted his eyes down at his hands, which started to do hand seals like normal at first, but slowly, he would start to pull them apart from their grip around each other. He could literally feel his chakra starting to split from his body at this point, and he couldn’t get used to feeling like he was being torn apart. The nukenin quickly dropped the hand seals from his focus, allowing his digits to rest on his thigh and knee. Taking in a few deep breaths, Mokuzai laid his skull on the bark of the tree, allowing his darkened locks to flow from underneath his earlobes against his neck.
“Alright. Don’t be a wimp, man. You got this. You just..gotta take it slow. Take it like the women in the whorehouses. They take it like champ and they’re able to walk the next mornin’. You got this.” He shook his hands lightly before placing his fingers together so that he could crack his knuckles. The sound of the pressure leaving his joints signaled his concentration to focus back on his Digits. Mokuzai started to do seals once again at his normal speed, slowly pulling them apart and trying to imagine the opposite hand on top of the other with the seals forming from them. It was a nice tactic to do, once he felt his chakra split into the hands in front of him. Was this the feeling of actually obtaining this new found ability? He would hopefully find out sooner or later.

Mokuzai stood up from the tree bark located inside the water country. It’s been a long time since he had actually set foot in this part of the country with the vegetation still basking in its control that it had over the landscape. The lone nukenin had thoughts and images flash back to the time where he first met Akira Tenshi here, and forming the bond that would last between the two while they lasted to breathe with their bodies growing stronger. He hasn’t seen the other nukenin for months now, getting closer to a year once he actually was able to sit there and think about it. This is the longest that he has gone without actually having someone to travel with and be right there to witness the events that could unfold from just his presence becoming known in random countries and areas that he visited. It was nice to actually see what the reactions that people gave off to see a nukenin come within their boundaries. Just knowing that it made them uncomfortable and felt like their armies, and forces were slacking off in their job sent a rush of energy through the veins of Mokuzai.
Ever since he lost Yoi in the lab, and Akira disappeared from the map, Mokuzai was starting to get more aggressive in his movements and thoughts. There was not too much small talk anymore once a bout started up between him and some random shinobi. It’s not really how he ran things now. At least for the time being. There would always come a moment where he would spice it up a bit to see where he would get if he changed some of his usual mannerisms around. He was trying to distract himself with the task at hand; it was starting to get more and more common for Mokuzai to get lazy around the time to train. He just didn’t find it satisfying enough anymore like he used to when he was younger. What could he benefit from it now? He couldn’t do any damage to current three major villages at this rate. It was practical suicide to walk in and do an act of war to try to get their attention for a few seconds before getting obliterated from existence.
While standing up from the tree, Mokuzai sighed in relief from the new found talent that he had with his hands. The thought kind of made him giggle just a few times throughout the whole ordeal of moving from one spot to the next. “Imagine the things I’d be able to do with my fingers now. Twice the pleasure, man. Twice the pleasure.” He shivered at the thought of having this amount of power at his fingers tips. Literally.
Mokuzai pushed his being away from the tree and onto the pathway in front of him so that he could start to muster his way back into the main road area. He needed to get back on track and make his way to the bear country so that he could retrieve his information from Akira’s old hideout. The faster that he could get there without any interruptions, the better. It tugged his sides that he would have to travel so far just for a small item of retrieval. It started to make him feel like a lower rank once again, and it only caused him to be more sluggish than he already was.
The simple thought of moving started to make his legs become sore from the exercise that he would have to exert from his energy.
Mokuzai yawned loudly once his feet started to actually drag across the dirt road on which he stood. There were times where he wanted to drop down and just rest in the middle of the crossing. He knew that some comrades would eventually find him and tear him apart, but at this point, he just didn’t really care. Mokuzai was too set on getting through the forest before actually settling down and relaxing. The nukenin was like a child in a way. Wanting to throw a temper tantrum whenever he didn’t get his own way. Even though he was his own boss and guardian, it left his mind from time to time when he forgot that he could control his own methods of traveling.
He was just dimwitted in that fashion when he was exhausted. Mokuzai perked up while thinking about the seals that he just learned to do. He knew that his own normal hand seals were nothing impressive and when he was a part of an academy in the younger years of his life, he was told to practice these whenever he had time so that he could become stronger with his hand and finger placements. He thought back to his bouts in Konoha and Kumogakure, and getting caught offguard with the speed of some more physical people. What if he could counter those movements of their legs with his hands and arms?
It seemed logical at first, and with thought being put into it, Mokuzai was sure that he could teach himself to speed up his hands, but make them more clear and crisper with their signals. It was a worth a shot in the first place, rather than not trying at all, right?
Mokuzai looked around the area for a few seconds and rushed into the trees that lined the perimeter of the area, hiding inside the branches and placing his legs on the edge of the larger bases so that he could look down at the road in case someone decided to sneak up on him and he could track their presence with his sensing ability. Allowing his elbows to rest on his thighs just like before, Mokuzai took a deep breath in and starting to think about what sort of seals that he would want to work on.
He didn’t want to start out too complex and then mess it up to only eventually give up on the whole thing before he started. No, no. He wanted to actually take it slow and work his way up to actually doing a pattern of seals. It was the only way that he could think about doing this in a quick fashion. His fingers and hands linked in unbelievable fashion, finally allowing him to focus on the task at hand while also keeping his mind open to any newcomers in the area.
He would hate for his training to be bothered by some upcoming ninja that were traveling on the road up ahead near him. It only messed with his mindset, causing him to mess up the placement of his hands. “Gah. Stay focused, damn it!” Mokuzai was actually getting pissed at himself, and others would find that hilarious. At least he thought. Starting over slowly, he started to pace himself and add another seal after a few seconds; slowly working his way to five seals. He wanted to see how many complete seals he could do in 20 seconds flat. So while counting to twenty, Mokuzai started to speed up his hands once he said “1.”
Trying to keep his focus on the way his fingers bend and his ligaments tightened. If he even screwed up once, he would never forgive himself for doing such a thing. After the seconds ticked by, Mokuzai kept the chain going while dropping from the tree just to see the training succeed in front of his optics.
“Well lookie here.”
