Kuro stood atop the calm lake, surrounded by cliff like mountains that stood out of the body of water like prickles. It was a perfect day to train. The sky was loosing its orange glow that it had when he had first arrived to train. The clear blue sky was decorated with the occasional puffy cloud that was just making its way without a care in the world.

Kurogane began to focus his chakra once more as he had been all morning, concentrating on the moisture particles in the space around him. The ice disk began to slowly form in front of him. It was around the size of his face. It’s black pearlescent tint was easily noticeable up close. once the disk was fully constructed, the law of gravity caused it to start falling. Kuro caught the disk in time and held it up with his fingertips. The sting of the ice didn’t bother him too much. He actually found it to be quite comforting, it was better than the scorching heat that was back in the village at least.

The Yuki Clan ninja began to fiddle with the disk, testing its durability to pressure and its sharpness around the edges. He was still getting used to his Kekkei Genkai ability. It had only been a few weeks since he had found out about it. Not really having any one to mentor him, he had to find his own way. At this point, he started to get a good hang of it, though it was about time he took it to the next level. Not just with his Hyōton, but all of his jutsu. He remembered learning in his short time in the academy of ninja being able to perform their techniques with one hand. The shinobi knew the challenge that awaited him, but the rewards would be worth reaping.

Kuro let go of the ice disk, letting it drop to the surface of the water, causing it to splash the immediate are on impact. The ninja watched as the disk sunk to the depths of the lake. He let his left hand drop to his side as he kept the other in front of him, preparing to make another Ice disk. This time, he would try to use one handed seals. He recalled the books he had read in the academy library on chakra control. He remembered reading that those with exceptional control were able to perform jutsu requiring less amount of hand signs. Kuro’s current goal wasn’t to decrease the amount of hand signs, but to be able to do the signs one handedly .Kuro focused his chakra, then began to do the hand signs once again, but with one hand.

Kuro closes his eyes and tried to control the chakra that was flowing through his body. The water particles were forming once again to form the ice disk, but early into its formation, the ninja could tell something was wrong. The disk was too thick to cut through anything. Its edges were also anything but sharp and smooth, it was rugged and could be resembled closely to a shark’s line of teeth. Kuro placed out his free hand, waiting for the disk to drop down, but the abnormal disc shattered into pieces just as it was completed.

Once again, he watched his creation sink the the bottom of the lake, but this time in pieces. Most of them didn’t make it too far down since they were too small and melted rather quickly. Kuro knew that he would have to focus more on his chakra control if he hoped to achieve the skill of performing jutsu one handedly. his body was succumbing to the exhaustion that he started to feel. The hours he has spent training was now finally catching up to him, but he couldn’t leave unfulfilled. Kuro’s body was now slouched over from overworking himself. He performed the hand signs once more, The control of his chakra becoming the source of his priority.

Kuro fell to his knees. the amount of chakra he had left was close to none, he barely had enough to stay above water. He looked at his own reflection in the water. small ripples disfigured his image from the small drops of sweat that fell of his face. The impact of something hitting water caused a splash of it to hit Kuro straight in the face. He no longer saw his image, but a perfectly shaped Ice disk sinking to the bottom of the lake. Through the heavy breaths Kuro took, A smile formed on his face. He had done it, it would require a lot more work to be able to easily use it during battle, but he had completed the first few steps in mastering this new ability. He knew that performing hand signs one handedly was going to serve him great use in battle.
