PostSubject: Re: Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. EmptyWed 13 Oct 2010, 4:58 pm

Allow me to elaborate.

You'd have an easier time getting a rank up just by some Staff decision or somebody else leaving the site and having to have a rank position filled than through exams, and that happens rather frequently, so investing time and effort into a chunnin exam seems like a waste considering that. If you aren't a good enough roleplayer and you've been skipped over a few times to receive those spots when they open up, then you're probably not good enough to become a Chunnin now either so thats not a valid excuse either. Basically, the only reasoning that could be logical and pointful would be attendance for your own social RP-based amusement or character development.

Or if you're a Jounin and just really want to watch stupid people kill one another or you want to help them kill one another with some intricate plan. If such was the case then I'd have to question the intelligence of the Jounin as well since you could just kill the other contestants easier, but the site would probably protect the participants despite a suspension of logical possibility. So I guess if you have a plan so fool-proof the Staff wont auto-deny it, then you're either god or you already are a Staff member and thus can do it anyways.

So basically, this is the same thing as any standard off-RPG fight but on-RPG, assuming the exams are held in such a fashion, so if you're really interested in fighting or watching a fight theres a whole board full of them just for your particular amusement. You're probably already using it if you have such an interest. At least at a member level.

At a Staff level, the point is likely simply to obtain more site interest and hopefully amp up activity, but as all previous attempts have plummeted I would hardly believe this one would be successful. Hugh can't even get an active enough member base to do war games, and those are still going too so even more attention is being divided which doesn't exist in the first place. Inactivity also wrecks any exams you will ever attempt, been there, done that.

The only successfully CE I ever saw was the recently completed one on NWOTN 3.0, so good luck.

*slow clap*

Stuff like this is uncalled for, i mean really...who gives a fuck about any CE you've seen? Adam and the other Admins are trying to make a CE happen here on US, that's all that matters. I hope it works out great and i'll do anything i can to help make it so.

PostSubject: Re: Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. EmptyWed 13 Oct 2010, 10:55 pm

I'm very titillated about the Chuunin Exams and I'm sure my Kinu would ravish the idea of competing with other Genin. I have never role-played in the Chuunin Exams and hopefully my first experience will be pleasant. Quiet frankly I agree with Y on some levels although my complaints drift to a more narrow perspective. 'We' as a site have a problem with wrapping up our threads neatly and in a considerable time frame. War Games and the Kage Summit are still not over and they're a few months old? Can you imagine sticking a half of dozen Genin(including alts) in a three-part exam? We'll all be infertile by the time this is over. I'm interested on seeing on how it will progress none the less.

Not only that but expect drama in the battlefield while the Genin are role-playing aswell. "OMG u godmod! hoW cN u dodge ALL muh attaks?" "Yur charry's OPeh how'd u get approve?" "U used all your chakra how cen u make 2 clones???" "Nerf Uchiha ftw" And the list goes on. The competitiveness of all the Genin to 'win' the fight will be a hot mess but entertaining to say the least.

I had something else to add but I forgot atm. But I would like to know if were doing the traditional 'Forest of Death' and the horrendously corny 'PM Quiz' that other sites do.

No, its perfectly well called for, its an example of one that has succeeded in order to contrast the possibilities of this one succeeding. It goes very well with the rest of the post, so its appropriate to make said comment and thus 'called for'. You're not obligated to care, but you obviously took the time to reply so you care actually.

You could have still stated valid points and made the same impact without advertising that another site performs better than anyother you've been on (obviously regarding the CE's). There was no need for it.

I never said anything about being obligated? I posted because i wanted to state my opinion, which i have.

Its not an advertisement, its a statement of fact from my personal knowledge. Simply stating a site name isn't advertising, especially when it pertains to the subject at hand, if I had a list of sites with successful CE's Id list those too, but I only have the one.

A fact it might be but the context in which you've used it degrades our attempt at our CE's and then promotes NWOTN 3.0 if you can't see the error in the way you've presented your point then w/e. I've got nothing further to say to you.

Personally I see the CE to test out how good and Rper I am and to use the Necromite clan to its fullest powers.....xD
Aside from that I fully agree with all that Y and Kinu have said. The War Games have gone on for a while now. We need some more story line action.
I have thought of an idea for it.
Activity Checks; basically one of the Mods posts up a thread where people have to make a topic up and then post up their activity thread. If not...well they could get their character taken away.
Back one track:

Oh my lord. You guys have no faith.

Let's just say that: (disclosing I guess)
1. I have seen a more successful Chuunin Exams then 3.0's which is what this one is largely based off.
2. There will be time limits set on everything. Every part of the exam. To not have one with our current time-topic reputation would be ridiculous. If you don't have the commitment and the motivation to compete successfully in the exams, you sure as hell don't deserve to be any higher then a Chuunin, let alone one.
3. The layout, as far as I want to share, is a mixture of past and previous. You'll understand what I mean.

And also, I want to state this. The Chuunin Exams are a front for something which too is being organized. It is strictly Admin-Only for knowledge at this time so don't even ask. But let's say that if the activity improves for the CE's, you can bet it will for what else we have in store.

The Admins have upped the ante for final-year preparations: will you? And Hage stop being such a damned stick in the mud. D< and make a Genin so you can compete and total newbs.

The war games was help up because of me, Due to Zane editing his Clan i had to totaly redo my character and then with the mods not knowing that i was in the games the app proessess has been slow..

Other then that the CE of one site should not be involved with another cause last time i checked this was Ultimateshinobi 2.0 not NWOTN 3.0

So please keep your comments of other site's away from this one and we can all live in peace with out ur annoying arguements.

Yeah. That'll happen when Steven Hawkings emerges as a bisexual and declares, with relevant mathematical and scientific backing, that blackholes are actually pink and filled with suggestive images made out of points of arranged singularities. I am completely uninterested in roleplaying here, the only reason I show up is to post well thought opinions and analysis of a subject in some vain hope of receiving an equally valid reply, but then I remember where I am and my hopes die more violently than Dumbledore....

It is indeed US 2.0, your powers of observation continue to serve you well.

Your sophisticated argument is very thought provoking indeed, I shall have to ponder on the deep and well backed statements you've made while I try to wipe all the sarcasm off from my lips here...Last I checked I didn't flame or bash anybody by stating my opinion, you're expected to do the same so refrain from such comments, besides, if you didn't find my 'arguments' enjoyable, you wouldn't be provoking anymore of it now would you?

Also....

That would be a relation if its based on another CE somewhere else. You're getting involvement regardless.

[Site Rules]

Pray tell, where is such a rule concerning the deletion of topics because you find the subject matter and the activities going on within it undesirable? None of the rules in that topic can be stretched to fit the current scenario, and topic deletion is not one of the ways of dealing with any of those rules either.

This is what I would have imagined to be nice discussions of the Chuunin Exams, not what is occurring. So PLEASE tone it down. (:

Question;

Depending on where the exams are being held, do we "Genin" have to travel to that destination?

Read the rules instead of just posting them up as a structure to your 'logical' argument. You have stated you have no intention in roleplaying here, which implies you have no intention to help the site. You come over to shun efforts and praise 3.0. Which quite frankly, I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate as they haven't ever been a site to cause drama with other roleplaying sites, especially Ultimate Shinobi. What you do here could be perceived as a form of harassment as all you do is poke, prod and provoke in any attempt to stir the bee hive. If you don't want to be here, don't be here.

PostSubject: Re: Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. Pre-Chuunin Exams Discussion. EmptyMon 25 Oct 2010, 1:05 pm

I have read the rules, and am abiding by them, and what could be perceived cannot be defined as such as I haven't broken any particular rules without provocation from one of your other site members. Also, the quotational usage of logical implies that you disbelieve the logic of my statements which isn't well proven by not addressing any of the points brought up but by simply ignoring them and going after the person who posted them which is not a logical tactic.

Concerning not wanting to be here, I don't want to be here for roleplay because I don't enjoy the site, its systems, or the people on it beyond a select few which don't redeem the remainder, but I do enjoy posting in discussions since nobody seems to be able to participate in any kind of debate without resorting to 'STFU Hage, I'MMA BAN YOU IF YOU DONT STOP HAVING A WELL-FOUNDED OPINION TO THE CONTRARY! LOL WUT?! D<'

I believe its well in my right to show up and post whenever I feel is appropriate, especially considering I helped put this place together and straighten it out, and considering this consistent bashing regarding me praising 3.0, I made one relevant comment concerning their Chunnin Exams, I am not going to keep going over that because if nobody can grasp the difference between-

"Oh I bought a dog at Johnson's Pet Shop"

And...

"I BOUGHT A DOG AT JOHNSONS, TOTTALLY BEAST! GO BUY ONE! NAO!'

Then I have to assume nobody even knows the definition of the word advertisement. This isn't an inter-site bomb, I'm not some 3.0 messenger sent in to infiltrate and steal members, or you know? I'd be doing that? Because we all know the most effective form of advertisement are TLDR posts that nobody bothers to read, that'll really draw em' in...

Last time I checked, posting with an opinion not popular to the masses wasn't breaking the rules, and it doesn't fall under harassment of any sort since I'm not harassing anybody, I'm actually BEING harassed so if you wanted to go with that rule then you should be punishing people who aren't me. I think personal insults are more akin to breaking that rule, like the ones some of the Staff made, then any post of mine.

I not only read the rules, I was here when they were put in, and I'm following every one of them so don't accuse me of not doing so, because you're pointing a gun and shooting nothing but blanks. So I would drop the 'Hage is breaking the rules' bit because its completely inaccurate.

Last time I checked my opinion was my opinion regardless of its negative or positive connotation, so its positive when I feel its appropriate and negative when I feel its appropriate. Also, as stated above, personal attacks are highly inappropriate and unwelcome as the actually DO violate site rules like the aforementioned harassment. If you would like to comment, do so within the rules and without resorting to insults.

I see what both of you are saying, but since i have no idea what the fuck you are talking about, seeing as how i only looked on this page, I will only give my opinion on the argument at hand.

Aaron is correct in a way. Hage, you really do have a 'glass is half-empty' lookout of life, knowing what i do of you. And yes, it would be a good idea to actually have some sort of balance between optimistic and pessimistic opinions.

Though, what he did say has not broken any rules, it would be a good idea to do what i just said, and secondly, what the hell are you here for? You're not a mod, and you continue to say you have desire to Roleplay. If that's the case, then what's the point of being here, on a roleplay site?

But, Aaron, lay off him. If he does wanna have an opinion, regardless whether you like it or not, he has a right. If he wants to look at it one way, and you want to look at it another, then so be it. Arguments are not needed, fo they only cause heat for the rest of the site rather than just the ones involved.
