| Sitting in the courtyard, today was the day to focus more on his chakra. For a long time, people always claimed that Hiruzen had an unnaturally sinister amount of chakra, even by the standards of the Uchiha clan. His grandfather believed that this was because of his mother because she had a chakra pool that was almost as big as that of Hiruzen. Whether this was indeed the case or not, only few were able to sense that which was inside of him as he himself never felt that different from anyone else when it came down to his chakra reserves. Being no sensor, it was not until he unlocked his Sharingan that he started seeing the chakra of those around him and believed it was indeed inferior to his own. Whether he was just destined to become stronger than those around him or if he was just some anomaly among shinobi was up for debate, though Hiruzen knew the kind of power he had been entrusted with by his mother was to be used in a way he saw fit. When Hiruzen performed his own pilgrimage, a lot of things had changed for him in both the physical and the mental sense. By facing his own demons that had taken a physical form and defeating them with his mind, he had liberated more than just his mind. By getting rid of a lot of stress that held him back in his daily life, he managed to relieve himself of a lot of knots and physical defects that originated solely from the fact that he was overworked and stressed out to the point where he almost broke. With the origin of his stress beaten down for the time being and finding his own form of enlightenment, the things that sealed away his full potential slowly started unlocking themselves and in turn allowed Hiruzen to become a better and stronger person because of it.
The trials of the pilgrimage had restored a feeling inside of him that he had lost a long time ago. Thanks to the village and the clan always asking him to do more and more for them as opposed to him being able to become his own man, he had lost the part of himself that believed that he could succeed on his own. The mere sight of his mother during his hallucinogenic journey through the mountains had brought back those feelings and made the Uchiha realize that with this pilgrimage ending, his true journey had only just begun. Not knowing what to do with himself after his pilgrimage, he had decided to continue with his meditations and routine in the temple for a few more days. Sitting in the middle of the large group of monks that were working on their late night meditation before heading to bed, Hiruzen was the only one that was not chanting the Om Hymn with the others. Instead, he used the calming chant to further his own meditation and let it take him further into his subconscious. Thinking of the things he had seen during his meditation on top of Mount Kyousei, his vision of a village no longer plagued by personal problems clans had with one another and an economy that was restored seemed so real that the young Uchiha had started believing that it was in fact possible to achieve it. The thing that bothered him however was the vision he had about the things he had to do in order to achieve peace. While achieving the gift of the hermit group had in fact been the first step, the golden entity he had seen inside of his vision seemed so real that he could actually feel it touch him moments before his powers had awakened inside of him.
As his thoughts took him back to that specific time during his pilgrimage, he could feel something burning inside of him. Moments after the burning sensation inside of him disappeared and became a more soothing feeling that pulsated through his body, Hiruzen went even deeper into his meditation. Moving further and further into it, he forgot the world around him and suddenly stood in the stone temple inside of the cavern he had first seen a while ago during his pilgrimage. Back then, he had stood at the bottom of the massive staircase and had to climb all the way to the top before he could even see the temple. This time, he stood right in front of the temple while looking at the massive stone doors in front of him. Something inside of this temple was calling out to him when he was here during a previous meditation session, something Hiruzen could not see due to the fact that a bright golden light blocked his vision for the most part. Knowing full well that he was not really in an underground temple but just meditating in the lightning temple along with the other monks, he knew nothing would happen. As if his mention of the things he was seeing now not being real had in some way provoked it, the ground suddenly started shaking beneath his feet as the stone gate slowly started to open. Experiencing a case of déjà vu, the light that came shining through the cracks of the slowly opening door started blinding him just like it did the last time. Trying to focus his eyes on anything he had not seen last time, the light was too strong for him to pierce. When the golden entity stepped outside of his temple again, he wandered closer and closer to Hiruzen, though he would not know about this until the time when the light stopped shining so brightly.
“Find us when you wake up.”.
The golden figure said to Hiruzen as he reached out and touched the top of his head with the palm of his hand, causing Hiruzen to wake up from his meditation and seeing that everyone around him had no longer been meditating. Everyone was looking straight at him as his chakra had started leaking out of his body for some reason. Not just that, but his hermit chakra had awakened itself along with his own chakra that rose from him, taking the form of a gold and purple aura around his being. As soon as he noticed it himself, he stopped whatever was going on and left the courtyard to return to his room. Needing a moment alone with his thoughts, it was as if someone or something was calling out to him through the hermit chakra he had learned to control and manipulate. As soon as he reached his room, he shut the door and closed it behind him before walking over to his bed and dropping himself on top of it. Part of him wanted to ask Guroda about the things he was seeing to make sure it was not normal for someone that had gone through the pilgrimage ritual, seeing as he was the head of the temple and all. Believing that this would not be right course of action if he was to become his own man, he chose to keep it to himself and focus on what had been happening to him lately. The fact that his chakra had been coming out of his body when he started meditating had not been entirely strange as he was still getting around to better controlling the chakra that he had found out about after he freed himself from the stress that held him down. This was something he was controlling through meditation and training, so it was going to be controlled soon enough.
The thing that bothered him was that when he started meditating about the place he had seen during his pilgrimage, his hermit chakra would pop out for no reason whenever the golden figure placed his hand on top of his head. Everything happened in his head, so it made no sense to think that making contact with something in his thoughts would have a visible effect on him. Chances were that he was just over thinking things, something he had done for the longest period of his life. Hiruzen did not like to not think about any possible outcome, because if someone was in fact reaching out to him whenever he was meditating it deserved some looking in to. Because the golden figure was the same as his mother in that he had not been able to tell that it was her during his hallucinogenic journey due to the golden glow around her, it was wise to assume that it was someone he had met before while keeping in mind that it was just a figment of his imagination like his mother. Guroda had already warned him about how he might be seeing things as a result of the drugs that helped him meditate on his journey, though he wondered when all of that would finally end as it had already been two days since he had completed his ritual in the mountains above the temple. Closing his eyes and returning to the lotus position, he would leave things for what they were and returned to his meditation in private. Just as he had done during his meditation with the rest of the temple in the courtyard, he had to focus on his chakra reservoir in order to control the chakra that had broken through the barriers that had been set up by his own physical and emotional stress. With the chakra he could now access came the responsibility of learning to control it and make it just like the rest, meaning he would need to spend a lot of time meditating in the near future. |
