| Aboard her new vessel, the Seahorse, Saya was quite at ease. The lessons she had learned had taught her well, and for the first time she'd steamed the small ship out of port. It was only a little over 30 feet long, so maneuvering through the large port had been easy. Finally she was out at sea, and ready to break in her own sea legs. A small ways out of part she cuts the small steam engine and runs up her sails. It's really an easy task, and she could do it alone, if she needed too. Two masts held a total of four sails, and when the wind caught them the ship would cut through the water quickly.
The design of her boat had been one devoted to traveling the sea, a wandering sort of voyager that could go without a visit to port for months on end. She could travel to almost any corner of the world in this thing, but that wasn't her plan for her first voyage. The Tea country has been a border zone between the land of Waves and the land of Fire for as long as history records back. Squeezed between the two great countries, the land of tea has always been up for grabs, and it was no different in the present day. Saya was aimed for its southern coastline, the peninsula beneath the stretch of land claimed by Konoha.
Before she'd left port she had planned her route, and drawn out the fastest line to the land of tea. By her calculations it should take her less than a day to get there, and by sunup in the morning, Land should be on the horizon. She guides herself with her maps and compass, and the stars once the sun is done. On her ship she has enough space for a small party, but it was just her. Within an hour land was out of sight, and Saya was left alone on the vast expanse of the sea. |
