Spoiler:

The Jounin Proctor stands at the center between Kazuo and Hiryuu. The proctor waits for a few seconds once both combatants appear ready to start. He raises a white flag high into the air for a second to acknowledge the beginning of the match. After three seconds he brings the flag down in a blur and yells start. The Jounin moves out of the way instantly to watch the match.

Let the match begin!

Yusuke wasn't his first opponent. Good. Facing him so early on in the tournament would be hellish. Hiryuu understood the strength he held, and even though he had all the advantage in close range, Hiryuu wasn't so sure he could win against Yusuke. The Sharingan wasn't to be underestimated, and Yusuke's monstrous strength was another beast to tackle. When he walked up to his opponent he eyed him, sizing him up and noting anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately for his opponent the room gave him an advantage, but Hiryuu didn't know what exactly he would be facing. The only thing that mattered was the Jyuuken.

Hiryuu stanced himself in a traditional Gentle Fist stance. He kept his back hand close to his shuriken pouch and prepared himself. He had to take the advantage as soon as possible. There was no way he could let his opponent breathe in this fight, the entire battle would be about who applied the most pressure. All of his training and everything up until now, was in this moment.

Hiryuu acted the same moment the match started. Activating his Byakugan, he simultaneously pulled three shuriken from his ninja pocket and flicked them towards his opponent center of mass. The shuriken were all thrown directly at his belly button with a simple flick. Each shuriken was placed apart from one another. The middle shuriken was aimed for his navel and the other two were heading towards his obliques. As soon as he finished the flick, Hiryuu rushed to his opponent with all of his speed at his feet, body ready to strike.

Kazuo found himself standing in the middle of the arena. He was facing his opponent, standing on the concrete floor. He inspected the enormous room and tried to find possible shelters. None found. The only place he could possibly maneuver around would be the huge hand seal on his left hand. He was wearing a casual ninja outfit comprised of black sweatpants and a long sleeved teal top. His headband was wrapped around his forehead and his heat retardant gauntlets and resistant boots covered his four limbs. The only weapons he was carrying were the six senbon of his medical kit, and well, his techniques… A medium range type of ninja was standing there, and even though he was supposed to be fighting to aid others he was there alone, five meters away from a male that would probably just wish to defeat him right away. His green eyes beamed as he scanned the guy in front of him. They only things Kazuo managed to pick up were his pale eyes accompanying his long dark hair and a couple of weapons, a katana and a spear. “Okay, I’m dead. Nowhere to hide, they place him right in front of me, do they hate me or something?” Kazuo’s thoughts kept distracting him. The only thing he could do was fight back and hope for the best. It was a tournament after all, he joined to fight other ninjas. But that boy, looked younger than him, but didn’t wear a forehead protector with a village emblem. “Who the fuck is he?”

The Jounin proctor interrupted his train of thoughts by raising a white flag. Kazuo had to take combat position. “Senbon.” He thought. On the count of three Kazuo was ready to grab a set of three senbon with his right hand, while his left hand was prepared to use hand seals. The flag dropped and Kazuo’s first instinct was to run. His opponent’s hand reached into his kit and before Kazuo knew three shuriken were flying towards the center of his body. Kazuo stepped backwards and diagonally to his left. This move would allow him to be closer to the statue and immediately dodge the right shuriken. He retrieved three senbon and his right hand moved by folding his elbow in, blocking the middle shuriken, and out, blocking the left one. His next move was to start running sideways in an attempt to reach that statue. He couldn’t be in the open because… His opponent was already sprinting forward in a really fast pace. Close ranged. Hence the weapons and the… Byakugan. Konoha’s Hyuuga clan. Magnificent. He was for sure dead. Kazuo was certainly taller and older, but the boy looked fierce trying to reach him. The young genin let his right hand fall down and swiftly hurled the three senbon, each farther and below the next one. He simultaneously formed a short string of hand seals with his left hand. “Gaton; Kenpu.” A cloth made of transparent glass petals was to extend from his left hand’s reach, without connecting. A quick swipe would extend the cloth as far as around 5 meters away, farther than his opponent, and then attack him sideways hoping to inflict a slashing blow.

Being a Gentle Fist user, Hiryuu was going to feel safe in close range. A quick check with the Byakugan confirmed that his opponent didn't have any hidden traps that he could spring, allowing Hiryuu's run towards him to become one of confidence. The Gentle Fist had a high chance of success now.

Five meters distance was roughly seventeen feet, width of a common single lane road. Being a taijutsu user with increased speed allowed him to cross this distance easily – especially since Hiryuu's blitz required all of his speed. An average stride would be at least three feet, which marked curiosity in the opponents movement. When he dodged the right shuriken by moving a single step back to his left, and thus not a full stride,  he was now in side of a range shorter than five meters. With the distance becoming ever-shorter and Hiryuu's speed increasing over time, trouble was going to ensue for his opponent.

As he let his right hand throw the senbon each farther below than the next, the intervals between them were not an issue for his chakra thrust attack. The senbon were not aimed anywhere specific besides his general area. Hiryuu didn't need to break his stride to continue attacking, he could use offense to defend himself. With the senbon in mid flight, Hiryuu merely extended his palm forward and let out his Hakke Kuusho. Unfortunately for the slower moving opponent trying to form hand seals, the chakra thrust would be completely invisible to the naked eye. That is to say that the senbon would be deflected in surprise (scattered off into the area), and while he was performing hand seals the strike range of the thrust was bound to hit him, breaking his hand seals and stopping him from performing the technique.

If he managed to stand up after this, Hiryuu was going to be within the range of the Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms.

Issue:
Keos wrote:
So here's the thing: I deflect and dodge kunai with senbon then throw them at him. I am simultaneously forming a short string of one handed seals and he then says than while my senbon are mid air, he uses a technique that blocks them and interrupts my hand seals throwing me down. He completely ignores the fact my jutsu is already formed? I don't know how to respond.

Explanation: It seems to me that the issue here is more so a lack of understanding of the proper timing on Keos' side of the spar.

As soon as the flag drops, Hiryuu commits this set of actions:
Hiryuu wrote:

The middle shuriken was aimed for his navel and the other two were heading towards his obliques. As soon as he finished the flick, Hiryuu rushed to his opponent with all of his speed at his feet, body ready to strike.

On the other end of the spar, Kazuo commits this set of actions:
Keos wrote:

Kazuo stepped backwards and diagonally to his left. This move would allow him to be closer to the statue and immediately dodge the right shuriken.

The above are the two starting actions as dictated by the flow of the thread and thus start the 'timing' of other attacks.

After taking his initial first move Kazuo then draws three Senbon and blocks the Shuriken with them as noted here:

Keos wrote:
He retrieved three senbon and his right hand moved by folding his elbow in, blocking the middle shuriken, and out, blocking the left one.

However, by drawing the Senbon and blocking the Shuriken with them, you infer that this action takes place as the Shuriken are about to hit Kazuo, allowing for your opponent [in this case Hiryuu] to act freely in that time frame regardless of how minimal it may be.

You then write that Kazuo starts running sideways. After which you throw the Senbon and make a set of hand seals.

The problem with each of these actions is that you dictate them one after another (with the exclusion of the hand seals performing whilst throwing a Senbon) which leaves your opponent open to move whilst you are acting.

Because of your second set of actions in regards to blocking the Shuriken, it allows Hiryuu to cross the distance without fear of repercussions. From which there is enough of a difference in time that he can repel the Senbon thrown with the 5m range provided by Hakke Kūshō given that the numerical distance between you has not changed beyond that. Because you threw the Senbon at the same time as you were performing the hand seals, the technique has a large enough range that the knock back would either break your focus or directly interrupt your hand seals; primarily because the time it takes to create hand seals is greater than the time it takes to throw Senbon and that's not considering the fact that the technique would not form in the same instance.

Resolution: Hiryuu's technique will hit Kazuo because the latter of the two is bound by a set of movements as defined in his previous post. | Alternatively Hiryuu will have to edit his post as to correct an error in the calculation of chakra costs. | Hiryuu will edit the notion of Kazuo stopping.

Kazuo was in fact hoping that his quick response to his opponent’s first moves would be enough to get him out of his disadvantage by managing to be the first to pull off a strong attack. Kazuo was in the middle of forming his hand seals but his opponent’s reflexes were so quick that he was able to block the senbon midair by just extending his palm. Kazuo was confused. His frustration ended with a transparent mass of chakra becoming visible once the senbon were about to hit the floor. Kazuo’s instinct was to lower his body, letting his body weight fall to his left side as he was running sideways. His reaction wasn't fast enough to let him dodge the attack, but he at least wasn't hit at any vital spot. His medical training had taught him to always try and avoid getting a blow at his vital organs.

The unknown technique his opponent had sent out hit his right side, connecting with his waist and thigh, but not the entire mass of chakra landed on his body. The impact caused Kazuo to lose his balance and his breath, knocking him back while he was still on the air. His body performed a double turn midair and Kazuo used his clenched fists to land in order to avoid letting his head hitting the concrete floor. The friction and damage expected by the impact was slightly reduced by his heat retardant gloves. Kazuo rolled once on the ground landing on his left side and a ringing sound filled his ears. He had to react before his enemy would attack him again while he was on the ground. He didn't have time so he immediately played a card.

His eyes moved to spot his opponent who was now about two meters away from him. With a single handed tiger seal formed, eight transparent needles made of glass were materialized on the air above him in pairs, not really to close each other. His technique was simple and fast. They were directed to his target with force, all at once. He was aiming his eight shots with four different trajectories, one pair aiming for his head, another for his waist, and the other two pairs for his chest and thighs. Their formation was a cone, the first two pairs directed forward and the other two attacking from the sides. He hoped this attack would buy him enough time to save himself.

Right after the previous technique Kazuo was already forming his next hand seals while trying to get away from his enemy by pushing his feet on the ground with all the strength he could recover. His next technique was destined to immediately produce layers of glass on his whole body simultaneously, covering his whole person in a flexible but strong armor of glass that would provide him protection against his opponent’s physical attacks. His hand seals were short and simple, so he hoped he wouldn't be interrupted again. Trying to catch his breath while in pain, he let out a loud voice and forced himself to stand up. He would then attempt to start running away towards the statue again.

Kiretsu, Kazuo vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu [Concluded] Vide
PostSubject: Re: Kiretsu, Kazuo vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu [Concluded] Kiretsu, Kazuo vs. Hyuuga, Hiryuu [Concluded] EmptyThu 25 Dec 2014, 2:41 am

The mass of chakra was invisible, and the only visible thing about it was the fact that something hit the senbon. The question as to what or how that happened was irrelevant because Hiryuu was the only one in the room that had the ability to see chakra.* Just like he thought, the opponent wasn't fast enough to have time to work up a jutsu versus his blitz attack. The attack succeeded in knocking him back, though with the all seeing eye* he could see through it just fine.

Unfortunately for his opponent and his training in whatever he did, didn't mean much. He still got hit and still got knocked back, and for all intents and purposes he had to catch his breath again which Hiryuu could see with the Byakugan as his lungs went into over drive. Once he hit the ground and rolled over, Hiryuu was still moving at full sprint because he never stopped meaning he was going to close the distance impossibly fast. This was terrible for the opponent because the distance now very low – his opponent was not moving (for this second as he rolled over) and he still was.

From only two meters away -which was roughly two steps (strides)- at full speed, his opponent performed a hand seal. Hiryuu saw this the moment he began to roll over as he could see him preparing his chakra with his eyes.* He also noticed the chakra materialize around him in the thin air before the needles were actually formed, and since it was made of chakra itself and required chakra to fly, transparent needles were ineffective against the Byakugan*.

Since he was in front of him, at such a short range, it was impossible for the two aimed at his chest to not come at him in a fashion that wasn't linear. And since the cone was raised above the stationary body of his opponent, it meant that the attack was parallel to Hiryuu's center of mass. Despite this, Hiryuu continued to charge but would do something that his opponent would not expect. Especially since he was performing yet another technique and trying to scramble to his feet.

Hiryuu would keep running until the senbon were upon him and perform a signature technique to prevent himself from being hit.**

Using his knowledge of taijutsu and his evasiveness, Hiryuu performed a jumping twist with the momentum of his speed, leading him self (to crash into where his opponent would be, not where he was) at the opponent who was trying to pick himself up.

But the trick was this. Jumping and rotating at the same time meant he would come down atop his opponent trying to gather himself up. This meant instead of knocking back his opponent he would drive him into the ground, crushing any defense with the spinning chakra and his body weight.

Now they would more than likely be right on top of each other, and Hiryuu would quickly reach for a kunai and stab him in the throat, aimed directly at his jugular with the help of his eyes*

Kazuo was dragging himself backwards as his opponent was running towards him. Two meters away from him, his opponent performed an impossibly fast body technique that set him in the air, spinning and releasing a vortex. Kazuo was now again trying to stand up in order to reach his destination, but the vortex affected his body movement and caused him to lose his balance. With his back partially turned to his opponent he got caught up in the vortex of chakra that his enemy’s body was releasing while rotating. Kazuo completely lost his control over his left side that was already in pain due to the previous hit he received. The genin found himself landing on the concrete floor, his elbows hitting first, as his enemy’s rotation knocked him down on the ground. The layers of glass had already covered his whole person, but the chakra vortex connected with the parts of his body that were exposed as he was lying face-down, unable to move out of his enemy’s technique. The back layers started cracking, but his front defense was still intact.

His recent attack of glass needles was completely deflected by his opponent’s immediate acrobatic technique, but before his enemy had stopped spinning, he noticed his needles falling on the concrete floor, breaking in half around him. The wind and chakra were pushing his body on the ground but Kazuo managed to recover all the strength he could find in himself and folded his fingers in a snake hand sign. By the moment his enemy stopped his defensive spinning technique, Kazuo’s needles would’ve already exploded into shards which would be directed upwards, aiming for his opponent’s whole body mass. The most important target, however, would be his eyes, with slightly bigger shards hurled towards his precious Byakugan. Not being able to move away, his only bet was to turn around and face his enemy, who would by then be standing above him, with his front side that was still being protected by his glass armor.

Edit after his reply:
Nothing of the aforementioned attempts worked. Kazuo's whole body got hit by a rotation vortex, even though he had his back turned. His younger enemy (a 12 year old calling a 19 year old a kid) had driven him into the ground and once he was finished his ballerina spin he landed on top of Kazuo and murded him by stabbing his throat. Because let's not forget, Kazuo almost forgot: He has Gentle Fist, Byakugan, and so much more training than him, even though his opponent couldn't know what kind of training Kazuo had. Well he still mentioned it and kept boasting about his training.

Once again it seems that you don't understand the amount of time you have to act Babis. Because Hiryuu leads his attack and the fact that two meters is an impossibly short distance, at best you would only be able to get up, especially considering the fact that you are attempting to get up from a position without the use of both your hands (given that using both hands to assist you in getting up is ultimately faster than simply one) as they were busy making hand seals.

And you failed to understand my post. Hand seals don't require five minutes to form. In my previous post, Kazuo cast the hand seals while on the ground and then stood up. When Hiryuu started spinning, Kazuo was already making his first step.

Edit: Just because Hiryuu moves faster than normal, it doesn't mean Kazuo's body moves like that of a chameleon.

He continued to move from the point of you hitting the ground onward. Still moving whilst you perform your hand seals and proceed to state that his distance is two meters away a relatively small distance, and then begin to do another set of hand seals, all the while Hiryuu does not stop moving towards you. The Senbon do not make him pause, as you are preforming the hand seals for your second technique, he preforms the leap/twist/rotation combo, meaning he would come down on you just as you are standing up or immediately after. Entirely because of the short distance and his increased speed.

Quoting because I don't want waste the time repeating myself.

Even if you could some how manage to get up in the span of the short distance between you and Hiryuu, he still moving toward you at max speed with full momentum and he does leap or use rotation until the last possible second. Which coincides by with your formation of the second technique (which by your dictation is before you get up) so either as you are standing up or after you are standing up and proceed to run towards the statue, his momentum would cause his rotating leap to collide with you even if the distance between you is increased in the slightest because because the rotation reaches two meters. Even if he ends the rotation his body would still collide with yours because that's how forward momentum works. Additionally given that a defense is broken by and equal ranked technique, getting hit by the rotation will break your technique.

Even if Hiryuu was two meters away from him while Kazuo was trying to stand up, his rotation hit more than his left side, no it hit his entire back. The range of his rotation was two hand a half meters1, meaning he had just enough reach to hit his entire body. Hiryuu was right in aiming the trajectory of his body (by using his Byakugan), he maneuvered better than his opponent in ranges shorter than five meters. But whatever, he still got knocked down.

What his opponent didn't get was all of his years of:

  1. He learned close range weaponry which meant he understood how to approach someone and end the fight in close range.

  2. He learned mid range weaponry as a substitute, to help him stay at bay versus close range combatants – a range he understood very well – or help him set up devastating blows within close range with mid range weaponry's amazing reach.

  3. He also spent all his life as a Hyuuga, a child of the Gentle Fist. He understood the range of every single Hakke and was a prodigy of his clan. Prodigy, by definition meant – a young one endowed with exceptional qualities or abilities.

  4. He also learned normal taijutsu outside of his clan arts, which further bolstered his ability in fighting opponents with other styles in close range, and also helped him how to understand how strong the Gentle Fist was.

  5. On top of that, Hiryuu also had better speed than his opponent, he guessed he was about half a man faster than him at any point – not just top speed and that his opponent ran no faster than a citizen. Heck, even those with Hiryuu's speed were able to run fast enough to 'catch' escaping targets. Something that his opponent was doing.

  6. To continue, he also had very good evasiveness, which one could argue was a little bit better than normal due to the Gentle Fists high speed movements when using the Eight Trigrams Palm attacks. By being so evasive on top of his clan arts, his natural mobility and flexibility were increased, allowing him quicker flips, dodges and twists. This skill wasn't just about dodging, it was about not loosing forward momentum.

  7. Continuing on, and perhaps the most important part of this was that Hiryuu had the Byakugan. This meant that he instantly saw everything all at once in fifty meters, from the lack of confidence between his legs to what he had or didn't have to eat, down to his chakra tubes. Hiryuu knew more about this guy than a surgeon would. In fact, Hiryuu's talent with the Byakugan was so great that his veins were less noticeable than anyone with the Hyuuga clan -EVER- no matter how much their genius was. Hiryuu was the best Hyuuga, or at least he was right now.

Since the twist wasn't a constant spin, once the technique landed and sent the opponent down to the ground, Hiryuu would be done with his rotation as stated before. He was not -nor was he ever- continuing to spin like a top. So the moment that his opponent was hit, he would come out of the rotation and stop while his opponent was below him, in between his legs.

After all of this, he was finally in range for an automatic hit.

However, the opponent performed a hand seal for a jutsu, but too bad so sad because Hiryuu had the Byakugan2.

He saw the chakra well up in his opponent and fill into the shattered glass. Why he was attempting to do such a thing in front of the Byakugan? This was meaningless. Hiryuu just waited, standing as all the glass began to converge on him when his opponent turned over to face him.

At the last possible second, Hiryuu jumped and brought his legs together, twisting once more and sending his opponent further into the ground1. The chakra and glass surrounding his opponent that he could see, would now be crushed under the pressure of the rotation that was literally right on top of him. By only spinning one time since he waited until the last second, the glass would be deflected again and Hiryuu was now officially angry at these foolish attempts to stop the Gentle Fist.

So with the glass armor no longer a problem, Hiryuu dropped to his knees while grabbing a kunai3 and stabbing him in the throat. With the Byakugan he could actually see the kids jugular carrying all of his blood. Angered by the unnecessary difficulty of this fight, Hiryuu would stab and slash as his neck until the proctor told him to stop, or his blue kimono turned red.

Okay this is ridiculous. If you are going to reply like that, completely belittling and disrespecting my comprehensive abilities and the damn reason we are fighting, let me state that I am not retarded. This is supposed to be a tournament to roleplay, but you merely roleplayed, you just stated how your character is better than mine. Guess what? I don't care. I don't know if that list was written by you, or your mod, but this is totally meaningless. It's like I'm fighting a 6 year old and his parents. I'll edit my previous post and take the maniac-homicidal hit so that this joke is over. Consider this battle concluded.

Keos, I apologize in which this matter has been handled and I will have this reviewed personally. A post will be up hopefully within the hour with a more respectable response.

After discussing with the staff the current situation, Hiryuu was desperately trying to explain his position, while he handled the situation wrong and is discouraged from writing that way in the future, the decision of the fight still remains the same. I have thoroughly reviewed the battle and have come to the same conclusions as the ones stated above. If you do have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me and I, as well as the rest of staff, will due what we can to help explain the situation. We will also listen to any points you would like to make in terms of the battle.

No matter what point I make I lost the battle. The conclusion was already made, I did not request a re-evaluation. I was a genin fighting a genin, not an Academy Student fighting a Jonin. Even if we were to continue fighting, I would not get in this humiliating position again.
