Reinforcements on Route [Travel to Kumo] Vide

Life had been pretty slow in the village recently. By slow she meant peaceful of course. Not that it was a bad thing, Meiko quite enjoyed the peace and quiet and the ability to just sit back and relax at home. Still, sitting around doing nothing was not something Meiko was good at. The girl needed to be up and moving to feel alive. Three days of rest had been more than enough for her. Outside, the sun was shining bright in the clear sky, although the heat could be a bit lower. A heatwave had been growing over the past week, while it wasn't unbearable yet, it was getting close. Stepping outside wearing a simple t-shirt and shorts, Meiko made her way to the center of the village, namely the administration office.

Meiko had finally decided it was time to move out of her folk's home. Not because of issues with her parents, that had been settled long ago. She was just getting older and felt it was time to start branching out. Sure she'd lose access to her father's forge, but the place she had in mind could easily have a small one installed. It would be designed simply for personal use, the family forge would be hers' one day anyway, along with the business. Not a bad retirement plan if she thought about it. The personal forge would be more than enough to practice her blacksmith skill and keep all her equipment in top form. For that however, she needed money, and doing missions was the easiest way to collect funds.

Reaching the administration office however, there was a tension in the air. The people working behind the desks were stiff, distracted. Approaching the mission desk, Meiko leaned in and requested a list of available jobs. While the clerk was gathering the papers together, several officials entered the room. Talking with themselves in hushed voices so no one would overhear them. Meiko however, had been training her other senses extensively so even with their hushed tones, she could hear them clearly.

"...Tsumi, Mana, the Sorceress. Word is they found her. She popped up in Kumogakure half dead."

This caused Meiko to turn and charge towards the officials, leaving the clerk startled and confused as she placed the list on the desk before her. "Excuse me, what was that about Mana?" Worry for her friend had completely overridden any sense of courtesy she may have shown them otherwise. Whole the majority of the group looked at her with disgust, one at least, was willing to speak. "Yes, the Sorceress, Nakotsumi Mana. We just received word that she arrived in Kumogakure, severely injured but alive. We believe she was attacked by the organization known as the Parahambla while on route."

Bowing, Meiko thanked the man and darted off back to her house. "Argh, again.Running off without telling us anything. Not this time. This time I'm coming to you." Meiko muttered angrily as she ran towards her house. She did not need to gather up her equipment anymore, thanks to her new sealing technique all of her weapons were on her person 24/7. Instead, she was changing into clothes more fit for travel and sealing a couple of spare outfits. Travel to Kumogakure would take a couple of days at least on foot, but she had a short cut of sorts.

Once everything was prepared, Meiko left her house and went straight to the main gates. Rather than passing through the gates however, she instead began to rapidly ascend the wall. Reaching the top, she hopped over to the far side, passing straight over top a guard. Ignoring his protests, Meiko kicked off from the wall with all her strength, launching herself a good fifteen meters into the air. Once airborne, her chakra filled the seal on her chest, releasing her armour so it instantly covered her body. Next, the chakra went to her back and feet. Activating the seals within and the result was a blast of fire from her back and boots. With the jet pack active, Meiko rocketed forward in the direction of Kumogakure. Flying was far faster than running, even if it drained her chakra. At least this way she could cover a much larger distance in a much shorter time.

Once she left the border of the Fire Country, Meiko would land and make the rest of the journey on foot. It would do her no good to burn out all of her chakra before she arrived in the village. Walking would give her time to rest and recover the lost chakra, ensuring she was fresh on arrival. She'd have to stop for the night still, but would be able to make it to Kumogakure by mid morning at least the next day.
