Following Eji wasn’t as easy as Hira hoped.

Eji didn’t move like a man, he moved like a kid trapped in an adult’s body. Stepping into the crowd he ducked, bobbed, weaved, and occasionally shoved his way through. None of the civilians said anything; they knew better. Keeping an eye on Eji’s blue hair was going to be much harder than she had anticipated.

Hira’s only saving grace was that Eji seemed to relish in dressing like a punk. His clothes would, while his head alternated between eye and waist level like a boxer on amphetamines, possibly stick out enough for her to keep track. Eji wore a gray vest with an obnoxious white fur collar. He had on black leather pants and combat boots; his right arm was stained with a series of tribal tattoos. He definitely didn’t fit in. Whatever strange weapons the pair were searching for, however, were suspiciously absent from the picture. Eji didn’t seem to have them on his person at all.

Once he had pushed his way through the crowd Eji took off running. He seemed to very legitimately enjoy his own physicality, and this would be the first hint to his would-assassin as to what he was capable of: Eji took off1. Sprinting through the streets, Eji ended up cutting through an alleyway. Running along the wall of one of the adjacent buildings, Eji’s figure was near perpendicular to the ground below, held up entirely by his own speed. He wasn’t using any chakra at all.

Supposing no one had lost track of him, Eji ended up running into a nearby bar. Literally, he ran right through the door, shattering it into splinters. The bar itself was a homey establishment. Two stories, the second story looked down on the first, with wooden bannisters and railings smartly installed. The only stairwell that led up was to the right of the door, one meter from the entryway. Eji had bypassed the stairs completely.

There were three tables downstairs and several more upstairs. The entire bar had a rich, dusty oak motif. The tables and chairs were solid wood, hefty enough to anyone without the requite strength to lift them, certainly sturdy and capable of being used as a shield if the situation arose. The chairs themselves were flipped up and on the table to allow for cleaning. The bar was quite large; it ran the entire length of the building – which was 15x10x20 incidentally. High-rise ceilings were all the rage this year. – and was built from just as sturdy a wood as anything else in the place. Behind the bar the wall was richly blessed with shelves, stocked with an assortment of sakes, whiskeys, baiju, and soujuu. There was enough alcohol here to kill a small army.

Bursting into the bar, the place hadn’t opened up for business yet. It was just the owner and his daughter who was sweeping the floor. Eji eyed her with malicious passion.

Hi there, Eji growled, licking his lips.

Dashing forward, Eji wrapped his arms around the girl and ended up behind her. With his back to the wall and facing the saloon’s door, Eji sniffed at her hair and then glared to her father.

Do you have a problem with us escaping somewhere alone for a while?

The man was too stunned to say anything. Eji had positioned himself approximately 8 meters from the doorway. There was a table immediately to his left (what the poor girl had been sweeping under before this thug had arrived) and the wooden floors creaked underfoot. The other two tables were spaced relatively far a part from each other, one behind Eji and one further up in front of him.

I didn’t think so,

Eji bent her over the table right there. Surprisingly, this young barmaid had quite a bit more courage than her father and was putting up an impressive fight. She was struggling to stand against Eji’s superior strength and even stomped on his toe – the girl had spunk. Unfortunately for her, Eji liked spunk. Relishing the little wrestling match, Eji and the bar maid went back and forth, with her alternating between standing back to her feet and being slammed facedown onto the table. It was quite the disgusting sight.

This girl needed someone to save her.

There was a legitimate reason that she was bored. Chase scenes never ushered much enthusiasm when it was so laborious to retain the location of the hunted. While questing for a man through a convoluted street was one of her favorite past times, hunting for a delinquent in an overcrowded path was rather... unconventional, especially when said derelict meandered about like he was mentally handicapped. Eji flawlessly demonstrated how to avert a stalker without even knowing of his own pursuit. Hira heeded and followed a fade of blue in the distance, and then a rupture of perturbed citizens to her right and then suddenly... nothing. No fur-lined vest, no burly physique or mane of azure. No matter how his unorthodox methods worked, he managed to stealthily evade her into oblivion. Just what the fuck was he doing?

He must’ve bolted for it, but without any rationality to do so in the first place. Hira exhaled, slightly agitated at the sudden change of pace, as her legs progressed further down the congested streets. The kid was a screwball – unpredictable, down to the very definition of the word. Facing off against such an erratic person sent a twinge of fervor through her veins, since an opportunity to challenge such... incalculable people was far and in between. But, cockiness was never a factor when her life was on the line, but rather, a tenacity to win.

Observing every street corner and crevice for a literal fish out of water, Hira recognized a smear of gaudy tattoos trailing down a muscular arm deviating from the street and into an alley. Snaking through the throng of people, Hira glanced passed the lane as Eji dashed through it, rolling her eyes at his flamboyancy. While Hira lagged behind the one-man show, she tracked him further down to directly across the street – a bar, and one that she was unfamiliar with. She judgingly scrutinized his entrance into the facility and before she approached the place, radioed Tosatsu her current location, while removing her tool pouch from between her breasts and returned it to her leg, but facing the pouch toward the back.

Tosatsu, over. Follow the path down the block until you reach the Lucky Dragon Casino and take a right into the alleyway next to it. Take that all the way down until you see an old bar called Reno’s. That’s where we are. Radio me back when you’re close, and I’ll set up a telepathic communication with you. We’ll be able to speak to each other in a close proximity without him even knowing.

Hira slinked to the side of the shattered entrance, eavesdropping on the one-sided conversation of Eji’s attempted rape. While taking a woman fiercely was always a desirable course into sex, not knowing the other party definitely ruined the moment. But, the kid had the right idea, if not the balls to get whatever he wanted, even if it lead to someone else’s suffering. Even so, Hira had no will to shield the damsel in distress from his obscene manhandling. An unfortunate sacrifice should the circumstances of her death arise, although preventing such a situation was always the best course of action. If she could help it, no one would have to die but Eji.

Awaiting Tosatsu’s reply for no less than a minute, she immediately connected to him through their closer distance. Performing several hand signs, Hira took a deep breath and spoke to her partner calmly before initiating their fight. Be ready, Tosatsu. This boy is a wildcard, so don’t ever let your guard down, not even for a moment. I’m going to attempt a genjutsu on him, and that’s the moment you strike. I’ll let you know when I begin.

Pushing aside large splinters of wood with her boot, Hira leaned against the doorway, staring at the young Eji intimately. She crossed her arms and smiled charmingly, speaking in an inviting tone, with overlying hints all throughout her speech. “Hm, what shame to take a little girl so voraciously... Wouldn’t you prefer a woman, one that was more than willing to appease your every desire? Let the girl go, and I’ll take you on.” The high-noon sun illuminated through the open doorway, encompassing Hira’s curvaceous figure and darkening her more distinct features. Yet, her unmistakeable, violet eyes swirled, gleaming with anxiousness – a tension Eji would recognize as unadulterated desire. Hira disguised her true ambitions well. As the sunlight was blocked by passing clouds, her full form materialized before him again. Biting her lower lip, she raised her arm and motioned him forward with her index finger.

Within the time of her arrival and eye contact, Hira vanished before his eyes and reappeared, while a colossal tree sprout behind him, grasping him with its’ branches. Upon his capture, an immediate Go! would sound through Tosatsu’s mind, signaling the beginning of a battle. Hira approached the young man, a placid smile blatant on her face and a kunai in hand. This would be over soon.

PostSubject: Re: Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] EmptySat 07 Feb 2015, 9:15 am

Three's a Crowd, Five's an Orgy.
Leaving Hira to return to his scrolls had not been a preferred endeavour for the white-haired man. It hardly fell under the umbrella of distrusting the lusty woman, as he viewed her as a more emotionally-connected version of himself, but it did not bode well for their relationship if she was caught unaware due to the variables they had still not been able to account for and he was not in the vicinity to cover her. He was not entirely sure if this protectiveness stemmed from his need to continuously play their game of cat or mouse; finding someone as beautiful as she that was still capable of cohesive thought was a rarity, but Tosatsu knew that beneath whatever godforsaken feelings that he was experiencing, that he enjoyed this woman far more than those he had through sexual encounters. The challenge that she embodied pushed him to go beyond his crass comments and latch on to various items of substance in order to keep her attention, and he willingly attempted to amuse her.

This aspect worried the shit outta him. If Hira was capable of getting under his skin this early in the game, he could only imagine what the last round would be like for him. She was a virus, oozing through the open orifices of his body and polluting his mind with insignificant crap like emotions and thoughtfulness. He wanted to help her if she were incapable; which was something that bothered him deeply considerin’ that he valued the majority of society as useless. Unlike the rest of humanity, whom he’d let rot if their skills were so inept that they couldn’t fuckin’ take care of themselves, Tosatsu wanted to ensure that the woman succeeded – even if it was not entirely by her own merit. That thought alone was seriously messed up.

Returning to the tree he had previously stored his goods, the chūnin efficiently placed his pack back in the necessary spots, checking his wares to ensure that he had everything, before taking off back into the city at a dead run1. This time ‘round, he didn’t bother with blending in; hopping onto the city wall the moment he was able and streaking across the roofs, briskly. Hira’s instructions were somewhat ambiguous to him, as he was nowhere near as familiar with the area as she, but he quickly closed the distance between their original drop-off point and recovered from there. Breathing heavily in a theatrical way to signal his impending arrival, he let out a throaty cackle as the panther otherwise dropped silently from the roof to land beside his compatriot. Her voice suddenly penetrated his head, showcasing the success of her jutsu, but it took him a moment to regain his composure. The previous time when she had entered his mind, she had recreated his Mind Castle for her unworthy eyes to see, forever emblazoning herself as an adversary. Unlike then, however, it was only her smooth alto that filled his head leaving his vision unclaimed. Staring openly at her as he sought comfort from this new invasion, he found his eyes straying to her rather exposed chest as she went on about be prepared for their apparently volatile opponent. Nodding mutely, his fingers sought the zipper of her shirt and did it up snuggly, once again allowing his brain to practice his eidetic memory.

“Ma, Hira-chan. How are you supposed to catch his eye if they’re glued to your chest?” Winking coyly at the woman, he stepped away as she began her seals and found himself slipping into the shadows. Unzipping his own jacket to expose the planes of his blank chest, the shinobi scratched at his marked face before vaulting forward and grasping onto the window ledge of the second story. Having witnessed the decimated door, it seemed that their opponent had more going for him than just his apparent speed; it would be best if the two of them split and used Hira as point while he figured out other alternatives.

"I’m going to see what I can do about gettin’ you access to water.”

Pushing himself up so that his feet bit at the woodened building known as ‘Reno’s’, Tosatsu used a single hand to make quick work of the lock and rolled into the building with silent feet. The floorboards squeaked lightly beneath his steps, but considering the scuffle and sounds of a head being smashed into wood, he doubted that such a sound would be noticeable.

Moving as quietly as possible, the man scanned the room to discover he was in what appeared to be the owner’s office. It was hardly as well furnished as his own, he couldn’t help but note with a satisfied smile, but it seemed that the man wasn’t doing too badly. Skulking out of the room, he immediately plastered himself to the wall as he noted the gaping hole in the floor. Looking down slightly, he spotted his partner making her seductive entrance; her lithe body resting against the ruined door in a pose that drew the eye to her hidden assets. Tosatsu, having been privy to their glory, knew what laid beneath, but the coy voice that erupted from her lips drew his attention far more as it was unfamiliar and admittedly, quite welcome. Not daring to look into the purple pools that were her eyes as it would be highly embarrassing if he found himself caught in her jutsu, the man made quick work of slipping into the bathrooms around him and turning the taps to release water for his companion’s use. Grabbing large bundles of paper towel from the dispenser, he shoved it into the bottom of the sinks, plugging the liquid’s escape down the pipes.

Satisfied that this would at least provide her with enough to work with, the man slipped back onto the second floor balcony just in time to witness the abrupt freezing of a body. If it were to be Eji, Hira’s signal would ring within his head and Tosatsu would not waste a moment. Flipping over the guardrail, the sealer reached downwards to grasp the two coils of prepped seals on his side and released them, whipping the right first and then the left in order to avoid the strings from tangling. The coils unraveled deftly, ensnaring their opponent in two separate barriers that stood at six meters2 and five meters3 in diameter, respectively. Activating the seals, the shinobi waited for the telling glow before he settled onto the backs of his heels with an unfounded look of glee upon his face, “Well, well. Look at the pretty birds I’ve caught for lunch, Hira-chan.”

Not bothering to appraise his catch for too long as a distracted man was a dead man, Tosa waved amiably at the approaching form of Hira as he directed his attention to the stunned owner who still hadn’t dredged up the courage to actually move, “Oi, Owner-sama. We’ve got this man taken care of, but don’t touch your daughter unless you’re hopin’ for a beating. I can’t have you messin’ with my seals.”

Smiling charmingly with all the sweetness that was missing from his serious tone, the sealer returned his attention to the elusive Eji and contemplated him silently for a moment. The man was hardly anything to look at. With his over-zealous punk exterior and atrocious ink, Tosatsu had a sinking feeling that this kid was trying a little too hard to be intimidating. Cocking his head to the side as he stared at him disappointedly, the chūnin wondered what he had that was making his dossier so impressive, “Hello, Eji-kun. My name’s Xavier Cunningham and I’m wondering what toys you’re carryin’.”

If for some godforsaken reason Hira’s genjutsu missed and caught another, Tosatsu would file it away for later; it would be a memorable moment to rub salt in such a glaringly horrid wound.

Tilting his head slightly in contemplation, he knew he wouldn’t have long before Eji caught onto his companion’s game and closed the distance between the two. Glancing at the owner that was still frozen in place, Tosatsu calculated that the man would be feeling some relief considering Hira had made the statement of replacing his frigid daughter in the bandit’s rough play, thus aligning herself to him. Hoping that the idiot wouldn’t make any forward moves at Eji, considering that blood splatters were not a particular decoration he adored for his clothing, the chūnin decided that maybe it would be best to remove the obstacle that the barmaid was becoming. If Eji decided to use her as a shield, it would put Hira and him in a poor position. It wasn’t that he feared for her life as it was utterly worthless, but it would slow them down if they had to kill her first to get to the man. Tosatsu could hardly sneak up on their target either. Without meaning to, the kid had protected his back by placing himself near the wall so it would be impossible for him to make contact without giving away his position. Currently, he had the advantage of being out of sight and therefore an unknown factor, but the moment he released a jutsu, he’d lose that opportunity.

He needed to think.

Getting close would be a stupid idea, considering the two of them still did not know exactly how he operated. It was why they had initially hoped a pre-emptive strike would be successful as it canceled out the variables, but unfortunately it did not seem like that would be in the cards. It was still imperative to immobilize him, but they would need to think of other avenues to do so then. Looking downwards towards the ground, Tosatsu figured it would probably be best for him to make his move now, and attempt another distraction tactic while the two of them still had some anonymity. Figuring the timeliest way down was to plummet from the top floor, the shinobi drunkenly got to his feet, approached the appropriate distance that was necessary, and staggered over the guardrail to land soundly on his back. Having softened the collision by emulating a break fall on the unseen side of his body, his wrist and forearm connecting loudly to prevent damage to his hand, which followed quickly by slapping into the floor to activate his jutsu4. Groaning loudly and slurring out a somewhat audible, “Owner-sama, I dunno where my booze went,” the man flung his unused hand around erratically as he searched for the aforementioned alcohol.

All the while, his rock hand travelled beneath the earth and quickly erupted from the ground beneath Eji, simulating a grab for victory.

PostSubject: Re: Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] EmptySun 08 Feb 2015, 11:58 pm

Hira succeeded in getting Eji’s attention, but failed to make eye contact. Who dressed that way!? A slight breeze and she’d fall out of her top. Surprisingly, that didn’t concern Eji as much; Eji was an ass man. Failing that, he appreciated legs. That’s where his eyes had ended up.

Unfortunately, the bar maid wasn’t so easily distracted.

Amidst the fight the poor girl had desperately searched for a savior and when she found Hira she felt a wave of relief wash over her. When she stared into Hira’s eyes, however, her entire body went rigid. Regardless of whether or not Hira ended up cancelling the Genjutsu the initial contact had been made. Against a civilian with meager chakra levels Hira’s perverse invasion would have an instant effect. While Eji couldn’t perceive what was happening inside the poor girl’s mind, he was torn away from staring at Hira’s legs when he felt every muscle in the bar maid’s body tighten to rigor-mortis levels. Something was wrong.

Huh?

Eji backed up from the hypnotized bar maid and furrowed his brow. Taking a few steps back, he left the bar maid in front of him (between himself and Hira) and was mildly confused. He had seen something like this before. This was a trick that ninja knew.

Eji immediately reached into the back of his waistband. Hidden beneath his waistband and vest, Eji had kept his infamous trench knives hidden from view until he needed them. Quickly drawing them, Eji held one in each hand, his digits feeding through the appropriate gap. Raising his hands in a boxing stance, Eji was tense and defensive. Suddenly it made sense why this busty ‘woman’ had been so keen to ‘take [him] on,’ For a ninja, she was about as subtle as a runaway train.

Speaking of things that crash . . .

Tosatsu’s calamitous fall jolted Eji, who shifted his attention toward the ‘drunk’. From his current position, Eji was 9 meters from Hira at the doorway and 6 meters from Tosatsu. Tosa was on his left hand side, opposite the bar, approximately 9 meters from the large rack of alcohol. Despite focusing on Tosatsu, he could still see Hira. Eji was twitchy. Immediately suspicious of the drunk – how could someone be here and already be drunk? The place had been empty and wasn’t opened yet. – Eji’s suspicions were quickly confirmed when a hand exploded from underground and tried to grab him. Ain’t it always the way: you’re harmlessly minding your own business, innocently trying to rape someone and people show up throwing jutsus at you left and right. What is the world coming to?

Tosatsu’s attack wasn’t quite as stealthy as he might have hoped. Forced to burst through the wooden floor, the rumbling floorboards tipped him off as the hand broke through ground. Showcasing his tremendous agility1 and speed2, Eji lunged towards his left and dashed toward a table three meters away. Escaping the hand’s grasp – assuming that it didn’t chase after him – Eji rapidly approached sturdy wooden table while the girl (supposing she was free of Hira’s grasp) and her father started to flee out the back door through the kitchen behind the bar. They weren’t a factor anymore.

Eji’s sprint pushed him toward the aforementioned table. Having been diagonal to Eji’s position at the time of the hand job – heh – he moved three meters up, closer to Tosatsu’s position. Eji was about 95% sure that the guy was another ninja, probably in league with the doorway slut, but he was all about making sure. If he was guilty of being a ninja he’d likely respond to Eji’s attack with a display of superior physicality or a jutsu. If he was innocent, he’d die. Eji may have operated on medieval legal logic, but it was hard to argue with its effectiveness.

Already moving toward the table, Eji would use his momentum as buildup for a powerful3 kick. The tables here were large and dense. Circular, approximately 1.5 meters across and 1 meter high, a thick wooden pillar beneath the center of the table held them up. Their relative heft was derived from the rich oak they were made out of. These things could stop shuriken or kunai dead in their tracks, or bludgeon an unsuspecting person to death. Eji was opting for the bludgeoning effect.

Planting his left foot on the ground, Eji delivered a powerful front kick to the edge of the table, sending it flying toward the downed man. Hurtling through the bar a few inches off the ground, if Tosatsu did nothing the aforementioned pillar would crack him in the top of his skull. With the strength of Eji’s kick and the table’s notable weight (100 lbs) the hit would undoubtedly stun him, possibly knocking him out or even breaking his neck. Tosatsu couldn’t afford to eat something like this; it warranted an appropriate response.

After the kick Eji put his foot back down and assumed a boxing stance with his trench knives raised. With both opponents in front of him, he had been able to keep apprised of Ms. Giggly Bits’ actions out of the corner of his eye. If she decided to try something shifty, he’d notice. After what she had done to the bar maid, he was particularly wary of handseals or anything strange in his environment. This one was going to be tricky.

Further from the far wall he had started near, Eji was half a meter right from the guardrail Tosatsu had thrown himself over. A simple jump could take him to the second floor if he needed it. He was getting ready to move, and if either of them were the perceptive type they’d quickly deduce Eji was not one for standing still. In all likelihood, he was probably to going to be on the move before they mounted a counterattack. For now, though, he’d examine their response to his opening salvo, trying to determine how he’d get in close enough to slice the pair to ribbons. He had a chair to his left, and more tables around the room he could use for cover or projectiles if he needed. And then there always the bottles . . .

What the fuck do you people want!?

Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] CEHpU91
Something was wrong.

Eji could not be found in her genjutsu, but rather, the dumbass in distress materialized instead. The young girl – an idiotic and hysterical one at that – superseded the degenerate target who inclined over her quivering body and, locking eyes with the Yamanaka, evoked a limp, wide-eyed body in the arms of Eji. To say such a situation was annoying was an understatement. Hira severely disliked variables in obscure circumstances, and this woman and her father were two of them. If Eji wasn’t going to kill them, than she would contemplate dirtying her hands if this conflict went south,  if either her or Tosatsu were wounded due to their muddling.

Despite the compulsion to finish off the girl herself, within seconds Hira cancelled out the genjutsu and witnessed Tosatsu’s rapid decline onto the lower floor, whilst an earthen hand burst through the floorboards. The kid was fast enough to avoid it, but only barely. Both of their endeavors to capture Eji were to no avail, and now a new strategy was required before Eji’s spontaneity turned against them. As her thoughts wandered for an idea, she observed walk Eji several meters from his original position and preparating to attack Tosatsu, whose voice sounded through her mind with a new plan. Her partner would use a Fuuinjutsu to blind the hoodlum, but the blonde needed to place herself elsewhere in order to ambush Eji at the correct moment. Hira peered around quickly before her eyes secured a substation. Across the room directly from her, a broom (presumably used by the young woman before Eji’s assault) lay on the floor. For now, it was her only means of reaching the other side of the bar without getting caught.

Alright, I’ll position myself behind him and trap him with my technique. Let me know when I should close my eyes. I’ll be able to sense him even if I’m blinded.

The young woman and her father finally ran for cover – good fucking riddance – and on Tosatsu’s que, and within the timeframe of his monstrous strength focused on thrusting the oaken table towards him, Hira performed a single seal and switched places with the broom. It landed upright against the doorway without so much as a thud, while Hira landed 2 meters behind Eji where the tool previously laid. Instantly, the blonde performed another seal in order to alter the surroundings of herself and the broom, switching their forms to look like each other, should the criminal suspect any other dubious movement from her.

An influx of adrenaline shot through her body at that moment, as the last time she performed such a simple maneuver was with her uncle the day she killed him. Rarely was real genjutsu vital when encountering an enemy, since a majority were half-witted and mistook her for harmless. But then again, most conflicts ended rather quickly and operated under a single mind – herself. Even still, she never took for granted the instance of a single second – every moment signified either a demise or victory, although Hira would prefer to procure the latter of those scenarios, especially with the support of her partner. Having Tosatsu on her side was a pleasure and a boon, one she’d inquire about again should her own mission struggles appear in the future.

When Tosatsu did perform his jutsu to distract Eji, Hira closed her eyes tight and released Sasagani immediately. Having previously memorized the location of the delinquent, Hira closed the gap with Sasagani shooting ahead to grasp onto Eji with her web, slightly moving her ability in a circle if needed to catch him, should he move around. Clearly he was not the sort to sit still for long, and within the instance between Tosatsu’s jutsu activation and Hira’s execution of Sasagani, there was scarce room for an escape.

With Eji’s capture, he’d manifest in a black space with nothing around him, but merely a smirking Hira standing directly behind him. He could take a whack at escaping, or endeavor to kill her in that deep, endless abyss, but that was the only problem: he held no power in her stronghold. Eji was captured like a dog in a cage.

PostSubject: Re: Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] EmptyFri 13 Feb 2015, 5:25 am

Take Two.
So maybe it had not been the smartest idea to use an earth jutsu whilst the ground was covered by wood, but in his defence, he was kind of in a tough spot. Surrounded by lumber and concrete, the shinobi no longer had direct access to his natural affinity. As demonstrated, he was capable of calling forth doton, but after witnessing the blunt delay and noisy emergence, the chūnin now knew that that particular element would be of no use to him in the current setting. Annoyed at being handicapped so quickly, Tosatsu could only thank Kami briefly for small mercies when he saw the disappearing frames of the civilians as they escaped out the doorway. It wasn’t to say he was relieved that they were out of harm’s way – in fact, he wouldn’t have lost any sleep if one of them was maimed or killed – but it settled better within his belly that their meddlesome bodies were no longer a factor. The fact that Hira’s genjutsu had caught the barmaid rather than their target still reverberated through his head, distastefully.

“Evidently, we need to work on your seduction skills,” he quipped lightly as he watched their target combat his confusion then proceed to dodge his attack, “Perhaps, I will try my hand. On my mark, I will release a distraction technique, and unless you want to be seein’ stars, keep those eyes closed. If you can manage to get close enough, catch him with sasagani so we can end this as quickly as possible. “

Rolling to a crouch, the shinobi was cut off from further ramblings to his companion when Eji began closing the distance between them quickly. Hypothesizing that he was perhaps readying himself to gain altitude by utilizing the table as a platform, Tosatsu rolled into a crouch readily, only to let out a curse as the aforementioned chunk of wood suddenly came careening towards him. Regardless of Eji’s ability to watch his opponents from his peripherals, the table was aimed perfectly at Tosatsu which only meant that for one moment, his attention would have had to shift fully to his opponent before him. Utilizing that moment, the chūnin saw Hira begin to orchestrate her replacement technique with the broom, but disregarded her in favour of dodging the table that was set on smattering his brain matter across the floor. Considering the size, he was sure that it would temporarily block his hands from their opponent’s view, so quickly, as he rolled across the floor in a forward diagonal to his left, shortening the distance to two and a half meters between him and the resetting Eji, Tosatsu initiated the necessary hand seal for his next jutsu. As he began exiting his roll-maneuver which would have taken seconds to complete, the man had sent out a quick ‘Mark!’ through their telepathic feed before facing Eji and closing his eyes in a resemblance of a blink1.

Abruptly, the arena whitened as a silent flash bomb ignited throughout the area, blinding whomever was caught within its radius. As it went off, Hira would be on the outskirts of its range, her eyes albeit closed, thus somewhat weakening the attack, but even blinded, she would be capable of connecting Sasagani due to Tosatsu giving his 'mark.' Eji, however, was in the midst of his attack, and it would certainly be interesting to see how he planned on getting out of that one. If all went to plan, Hira’s quick actions would have been timed perfectly with Tosatsu’s creating a fraction of a second for their opponent to respond.

He was a fly within their web.

Due to the 72h rule. It is assumed that Eji took the attacks laid out by Hira and Tosatsu.

Slice, Slice, Baby [Swallow, What? Combat Thread] CEHpU91
And trapped in a cage he was.

In a black abyss, Eji lie bound by the power of her mind, destitute and alone in the face the Yamanaka woman. A set of violet, widened eyes assessed the wild and belligerent boy, and for a moment, a glint of empathy washed over her trembling body. The poor boy – so young, so full of hope for a long and prosperous life... Alas, if only such a statement were actually true. He was a shithead, and Hira denied her bloodlust for his breathless body on the hardwood floor. She was unable to discern the last time she’d neutralized a target, and so simply, but every time she did so, a miniscule part of her was satisfied, and more than so this time around. Tosatsu was more than worthy of the kill and she’d grant him the indulgence. She was a rather giving person in that respect. Although, they required something of him first, and Hira wouldn’t dare withhold her friend from his bounty.

While able to spectate the outside world and her immediate surroundings, Hira awaited the moment Tosatsu gathered himself and approached the target. Any banter outside of Sasagani would be heard distinctly by both parties, despite not being able to join in on the ridicule. In the moments that Tosatsu performed his fuuinjutsu on the young boy to entrap him further, Hira considered allowing him a final request – after all, her mind was akin to a world of its own, although discernable and leaving no lasting effect on the target once released. But, why allow a murderous, raping, ornery little boy to have whatever he wished? She’d be the one to have nightmares of such a request later, and deciding against the idea, she merely shrugged her shoulders and spoke matter-of-factly, “What a shame. If only you weren’t a crazy, murderous asshole, you might’ve made a half-decent ninja in Kumogakure. Really. I might’ve considered training you myself, too, if only I gave enough shits to do so in the first place. Ah well, I guess you’ll have to try again in the next life, hmm?

Upon Tosatsu’s request to release him, Hira retracted her webs and took several steps back, allowing the white-haired man his space. Whatever he wished to do or ask, she would not stop him, nor would she interfere. This was his kill – his victory – she’d merely come along for the ride and faux freedom, if only for a few days. Retreating to the back of the bar and grabbing several bottles of her favorite alcohol, Hira also retrieved extras for later use, of course. While it was unlawful to jack as many bottles of booze as her bosom, arms and hands could carry, they were returning to Kumogakure soon and she intended to prepare herself for the encounter with Kagetora again. After all, leaving your intended person of interest in order to hunt down a criminal on little more than a whim, and in a neighboring country wasn’t exactly... conventional. Luckily under the bar did she discover a leather bag and immediately begin to fill it to its brim. Unfortunately, if Tosatsu wished to follow her lead, he’d require a bag of his own.

When the deed had been done, Hira slung the bag over her shoulder and waited along the bar for Tosatsu to either join her or retrieve his own treasure chest of liquor. With the knives in his possession and a content smile along her lips, Hira exhaled, satisfied at their fulfilled endeavor. “Well, shall we finally get out of here? I think a celebration is in order.. if you haven’t already noticed,” she referred to the contents of the leather bag, walking towards the entrance of the establishment. “You look like a lightweight though. I just hope you can keep up with me.” A sly smile slithered along her lips as they vanished into the congested street together once more.

Body Shots.
To say that Tosatsu was satisfied would be an exaggeration. The moment that he reopened his eyes, the explosive light of his jutsu framing the scene in spectacular shades of yellow, the chūnin’s breath caught in his throat as he waited for his mind to accept the distressing panel before him. The spidery web of Sasagani stretched forward delicately, the web-like structure reaching forward like a hungry predator. Within its claws, he noted the stiff figure of Eji; his face blank and hands still positioned in front of his face. It was an interesting frozen tableau; the wiry tension of his body held tightly as those lewd eyes shone with a bloodlust that Tosa easily understood. Stepping forward but preventing himself from being confined in his companion’s jutsu, the shinobi raised his dominant hand and very slowly poked the stony figure. It was an overly-dramatic gesture without an audience, but he couldn’t help the theatrical manner in which he sighed after reaffirming that indeed, Eji was ensnared by Hira and her icky, long fingers.

How disappointing.

Clucking his tongue in distain, the man carded a hand through his hair; untangling the braid he had previously dressed himself with. The disorder of its release calmed the calamity that crashed within his brain as he once again donned his appropriate persona, which finally allowed him to think. It was relieving to know that they had come out on top, as he never would have attempted this venture if he wasn’t sure of its completion, but it irked him deeply that such an ‘infamous’ bandit was so easily caught. He had been spoiling for a good challenge; an opponent that would have had him on his toes and even his back. From Eji’s dossier, the chūnin had expected that the man they would be facing would have been far more intelligent, as continuous, successful close-combat went beyond bumbling, testosterone-filled men, but instead of a coolly intelligent combatant, he and Hira had faced a horny teenager with a questionable mental state. To be so far off the mark was beyond depressing.

There was nothing to do now though, he supposed, figuring that it was just another enlightening moment that displayed the uselessness of humanity to him. He really hadn’t been askin’ for much, had he? All he wanted was someone, aside from the infuriating woman who wore the guise of his companion, to challenge him enough to force him out of his entertaining mind for a nice dose of reality. Evidently, it had been too much to ask, so with another theatrical sigh, the man placed his hand on Eji’s, caressing the skin in an open display of dominance before stripping him of his weapons. Staring at the metal that now rested in his hands, Tosatsu silently wondered what the potential behind the knives were. The rumours that had spread alongside the bandit’s loose morals spoke of destruction that occurred beyond the capabilities of molded steel. He knew already that chakra could be channeled through them, but was there more that such a tool could do?

Ideally, he would have loved to question Eji, but some niggling feeling at the back of his psyche told him that retrieving such information from him was not going to be a walk in the park. And even if he decided that perhaps the teen would be more forthcoming after being knocked around a couple of rows, he also had a sensation that the kid probably had some masochist tendencies and would probably get off on it. Nah, violence and sweet-talkin’ were not the ways to go with this one. Perhaps it would simply be best to inquire where the kid got them, and if he at least knew of the blacksmith, he could at least go on another adventure and then figure out what the limitations of the blades were. Swapping the knives into a single hand, Tosatsu activated the seal he had placed on Eji’s whilst feeling him up and nodded to Hira.

Walking towards her, his steps predatory as he skulked about like the best of creeps, his nimble fingers immediately went to the zipper he had previously done up and began dragging it down, excruciatingly slow, to her navel.

“Darling,” he murmured, his lips brushing against her ear, “You can stop teasin’ him in your mental whorehouse and let him see what he truly can’t touch in person.”

Licking his lips and giving her an appreciative stare that was entirely for show, Tosatsu winked at his well-endowed companion as he dragged his index finger from the zip and lightly stroked her newly exposed skin all the way up to the crevice beneath her breasts. Flicking upwards, he removed the contact from her and turned away, an airy presence about him as he did so. The act of touching Hira was hardly sexual – he did not need to flirt with her – but it was a playful action that he figured she’d either roll her eyes at or smack him over. Considerin’ that they had just copped a win, he figured coppin’ a feel was a good way to celebrate.

Not bothering to observe her as he walked back towards Eji as he knew that any hit she directed at him would be deserved, Tosa watched the pooling anger that was causing the bandit’s eyes to become liquid. They practically glowed with the frustrated tears that hinted at their existence and the man could not help but smile at the vulnerability. He imagined that Eji knew he looked like a rabid animal and the frustration at his position was what was causing him to clench his teeth so tightly. Placing a look of faux concern upon his face, Tosatsu reached forward and lightly pressed a finger into the hinge of the man’s jaw to stop the kid from grinding his teeth into dust. He didn’t do it because he cared, obviously, but this slight touch was easily a show of dominance. The chūnin didn’t need to touch Eji; he didn’t need to invade his space, but Tosa knew how to torment the psyche. Men like this, full of narcissism that demanded attention and control, could not stand losing what they held so dear. The shinobi had watched as Eji assaulted that girl, the look of glee that filled his radiant eyes as he smashed her head into the table, and he couldn’t help but appreciate that bloodlust. It was just a pity he didn’t get to experience firsthand.

Running a finger over the man’s bottom lip, Tosatsu questioned him quietly, “Where did you get these blades?”

“Fuck you.”

He imagined that if he could, Eji would have bitten him.

“If you’d like. I don’t mind bottoming every once in a while.”

The look of disgust that flashed across the kid’s face was delicious, even as he watched him work the saliva in his mouth to spit at his. Moving away to avoid any contact with the bandit’s bodily fluids, Tosatsu continued his line of questioning, pondering if it was even worth the use of air. As he figured before, he doubted Eji would be helpful in anyway. Glancing over at Hira, he contemplated using her skills to dig out the information he wanted, but his disdain for her tactics had not disappeared. He hated how easy she had it when it came to information gathering, and he refused to buy into her tactics. Thus, he knew disappointedly, that he would most likely not get the information he needed out of the fucker. Deciding that he’d at least ask a final time, Tosatsu eyed the trapped nin with a bored stare, “Eji-kun. Please don’t be stupider than you’ve already displayed. Tell me where you got them, and I’ll kill you quickly.”

It was obvious that this was the way his tale was going to end. The bandit had a bounty on his head that was worth collecting and he and Hira would be stupider than the former if they just left him alive for some other lucky wanker. Waiting patiently, he studied the look of contemplation that settled over the man’s face before stoniness overcame logic and the anger flooded back in. Working the spit in his mouth once again, the kid spat the glob at Tosatsu and the man could only move out of the vicinity and sigh. Evidently he was predictable and boring. Withdrawing a kunai from his pouch, the shinobi did not bother wasting any more of his time. Maneuvering his arm behind the kid, he drove the weapon directly into the forth vertebrae of his spine. A hiss of pain erupted from Eji, but Tosatsu disregarded it as he withdrew another knife and planted it into one of his kidneys. Satisfied at the glazed look that settled over the child’s face as he refused to make more noise than necessary that would draw attention to his pain, the chūnin turned his attention back to the pillaging Hira and sighed dramatically.

“I didn’t realize alcoholism was a hobby of yours.”

Sliding closer to her, he attempted to take a bottle from her bag and whimpered when she smacked his hand away and delicately told him to ‘get his fucking own.’ He let out a chuckle but appeased her by reading the remaining labels and choosing a few for himself. Taking one of the small scrolls from his pouch, he began sealing most of the bottles away aside from a nice bottle of vodka that was practically asking him to do body shots with. Glancing at the blonde, he eyed her innocently before inquiring if her delectable navel was available, and only smirked when she simply raised a brow at him. Kami, she was a crusher of dreams.

By the time the two Kumogakure nin had settled their alcohol comfortably on their bodies, Eji’s breaths were coming out ragged and broken. Blood spattered his lips and floor, but he still didn’t make a sound except for the occasional ‘Fuck you’ he kept muttering. Moving forward, he wrenched the kunai out of the man’s spine without tact and smiled delicately at the groan that came along with it. Tosa had to give him props for not dying like a bitch.

“Thank you for lining our pockets, dear Eji-kun.”

Slamming the kunai into his skull, he barely batted an eye as the knife broke through the cranium and sliced the brain. Withdrawing the knife, he busied himself with decapitating the deceased man and then sealing the head into another scroll. When he was done, he wiped the blood off his kunai on Eji’s clothes and glanced down at the gathering pool at his feet. Well, wasn’t that a mess? Figuring the owner was going to eventually get at it, Tosa pocketed the scroll and slipped a hand around a luscious hip.

“Ma, Hira-chan, are you tryin’ to get me drunk so you can have your filthy way with me? ‘Cause all you had to do was ask.”

Taking a swig from his bottle, the edge of it clinking nicely against the metal of his new possession, Tosatsu proceeded to sexually harass the woman until the edge of Fire Country.

Bliss.
