Approved missioning

It was a chilly morning. The sun had just recently started crawling up the sky, so the air and earth were still cold as they were slowly waking up to the gradually stronger rays of sunshine. The gentle morning breeze that slipped its icy fingers everywhere, made Shuu shiver a bit as he zipped his black sweater all the way up to his chin. His hands were stuffed deep within the pockets of his black pants, and he was really starting to regret having forgotten his jacket at home. Surely his lips were just about ready to turn blue any second now. Well, if I look at the optimistic side of this situation then there aren't many clouds on the sky. The sun will soon start warming everything, including me, up. His boot clad feet shuffled a bit around on the ground as he glanced at his surroundings, trying to see if he'd detect any life form other than his own. He was first to arrive outside of the village onto the spot he was supposed to meet the other two. His early arriving wasn't really all that weird, seeing how early the young Hyuuga had been skulking around.

The evening before he had made the mistake of falling asleep before 10 pm, and thus found himself up and ready to take on the world at 6 am. Eight hours of sleep were usually the quota he needed in order to feel fresh and happy with things. So the Hyuuga had spent the morning reading the mission details, stretching, showering, eating breakfast and poking at his sleeping brother. Finally, when the clock had turned 8 am, he had tied his headband around his right knee, grabbed his ninja things and slipped out of the house; just in time when his parents alarm clock would have went off. The routine was strong with his parents, and every morning was an early one. Shuu had left a note on the kitchen table, reminding his parents where he'd be going for the day. It wouldn't do much good if they thought he'd simply taken off without word. His mother would rip his head off for less things.

Since there were still no teammates in sight, he jumped a bit on the spot and shivered again before thinking to himself about the names he'd read on the detailing list. Yuuzuki he knew, she was a kind and nice girl... with a few more arms than your normal teenager. They had always gotten along well and he considered her a good friend of his by now. The other name however, Kousen Naraku, was not something he was familiar with. That alone caused a small worm of anxiety to start wriggling at the pit of his stomach. He was always a bit nervous when meeting people for the first time, especially those who didn't know about his handicap. But Yuuzuki will be here also. I have at least one ally with me. A soft smile crossed his lips before he'd retrieve some papers from his pocket.

According to the map he had gotten with the mission detailing letter, a group of the people they were assigned to have a little chat with, wasn't very far from the spot he was supposed to meet his teammates at. It made him wonder if maybe he was being watched. Truly he'd like to activate his Byakugan to properly check his surroundings out, but it was never advised to spend Chakra without a good cause. He had no idea what this day would bring, and thus it'd be best to keep his Chakra stocked up.

What a strange event though, with these Mudfolk. I'm not sure if I've even heard the full story about what happened. Some grand misunderstanding that's causing a war to be at the brink of breaking out? It'd be terrible if people would be injured or killed because of something like that. I really hope we can properly talk to these people today, and then at least get a few of them on our side.

Silently, but with a thoughtful expression, he folded the papers again and stuffed them in his pocket. With a glance at his watch, he knew that soon he'd be spotting his teammates. Boy did he hope that Yuuzuki would arrive before the other guy.

This upcoming mission was one that Yuu had mixed feelings about. On the one hand she'd be learning some history. A subject Yuu did enjoy, but rarely had the chance to sit down and learn. On the other hand Yuu remembered her grandfather mentioning them. He didn't say much, but he did say their circumstances weren't happy, just like her scattered clan's fate. It could very well be a trying lesson, but thankfully Shuu was going to be there.

The thought of the young Hyuuga male made her stomach flutter and a light blush come to her cheeks. During their last mission he had seen her arms. Once more the people of Kumogakure surprised her. Every time she had expected an outburst of fear or hatred she was met with curiosity and something akin to understanding. It had meant a lot to her that Shuu hadn't hated her when her arms had been revealed. After so many years of having no one to really talk to outside of family Yuu finally had a small group of shinobi she could rely on.

It had done much to increase her overall mood. Although, the kimono hiding her arms wouldn't be coming off for a long time. Especially since it gave her an edge in combat. No one expected arms from nowhere suddenly appearing. Shuu would be her pillar of support today if the lesson became depressing. The third and final teammate though was someone she had never met. It was going to be weird with him along, but so far Kumogakure had given her a good selection in comrades.

Yuu rounded the corner to spy Shuu looking at his watch. Raising her exposed hand she gave the boy a small wave and walked over to him. "Hello Shuu. How are you today?" Yuu's dialogue between friends was getting longer with each passing day. Before it was a miracle if one could get more than a word out her.

Frigid winds had caressed the village the night before Naraku’s second mission. When he awoke in the early morning, sometime around six o’clock. It had been so cold, and yet, Naraku was sweating in his sleep. It was from the nightmares he was having. His father kept telling him time and time again that he was dying on an endless loop. There was nothing the young Kousen child could do to interrupt the cycle, no matter what his response was. At one point on his sleep, he remembered trying continually healing his father before he died, but to no avail. Each time, he sat there and watched as his father drifted off into afterlife, then it would fade to black before the cycle began again. It tormented him- it taunted him. His natural mind had the instinct to do whatever it took to save someone else’s life, but there was nothing he could do in this case, despite the fact that it was the human being he had been closest to in his early life. No matter what else he tried to think about in the morning, like all the good times the two had spent together, he could see nothing but the dark that laid ahead.

Having only gotten five hours of sleep the night before, the teenager looked quite ghastly when he awoke. His eyes were sunken in from his weeping and had bags beneath them from the lack of sleep he had gotten. He rose from his bed and into his shower like a zombie; his mind was on autopilot. Every step he took seemed like a mindless task that seemed unmemorable, every action he took seemed blurred. Some part of him had been shattered the moment he had heard the news, and it seemed to be making a physical manifestation. Once his slow and stiff steps had gotten him to the shower, he turned it on to a luke warm temperature. He wanted to try and wake himself up properly before he had to go out on his mission. With his head facing the ground, his hair was routing the water to either side of his face as he placed his hands sturdily on the wall in front of him. Streams of water caressed the crevices of his body and ran from head to toe as they exited to the drain. Naraku began to focus his mind to each and every independent sound that emanated from the shower. It was his way of preparing himself for the mission. He needed to focus so he could clearly remember the mission parameters as well as information about his team that would be important. No matter how hard he tried, he would be able to do it if all he was thinking about was his father’s impending doom.

It took him about fifteen minutes of just sitting there and listening to the white noise before he was able to think in a linear fashion with clarity. They were supposed to attempt to quell rumors amongst neutral groups of Mudfolk. Naraku had never even heard of these Mudfolk but apparently, they had a good deal of history with the village. Apparently, the two had a fallout over some mysterious deaths that happened quite a short amount of time before Naraku had graduated. According to the information they had been delivered by the Raikage, there seemed to be suspicion about their movement outside of the village’s walls as of late, and the Mudfolk were at the root of it. He would be completing this diplomatic task with one Hyuga, Shuu and Kidomaru, Yuuzuki. Both clans were relatively famous, but to his knowledge, Naraku had yet to interact with a member from either clan. While he knew he was in no mood to have a temper, he would need to remain objective to the actions they took. Any sort of deviation from a calm and collected standpoint would work against them in such a diplomatic exchange.

Having left at six forty five, after brushing his teeth and equipping himself fully for a mission, Naraku made it at the rendezvous at eight thirty five. He seemed to have made it just on time, because it seemed that the other two genin were just initiating conversation, having only heard a quiet and sheltered voice ask how the other was doing. As he rounded the corner, Naraku attempted to keep his face placid and emotionally empty. While he was emotionally unstable, he could not show that side of himself while on a mission or it could very well jeopardize the integrity of his work and the fate of the village.

He walked up to the other two, without a word, and stood with a stiff back and plain emotionless face. His words were flaccid and without any sort of vibrato; they were as hollow as his soul. ”Hello….” a stiff turn of the head to meet the eyes of both his companions followed before he continued. ”Shall we proceed to meet with this group?”
