Naruto Shippuden Episode 167

I know it is usually manga chapters that are discussed here but this episode deserves a look at for just how WTF-ish it all is.

The animation was different, the artwork seemed sort of poor as shown in the above picture and parts were just ridiculous. It completely takes away from the fight as both characters were being over powered, especially Pain (How many times his neck should of been broken...I lost count) and there was no way that much water was contianed in those bits of rock and how did Hinata remain unharmed? Maybe it was aiming for epic but it left me doubting if it was even a real episode at first, the manga handled the whole thing better. I cannot deny the last few minutes were good though.

I KNOW! The animation was TERRIBLE! EVERYTHING WAS! There was VERY little detail when they moved, it was like just a brown background with a stick figure running on it. e.e

I felt like planting a bomb into the heads of this episode's animators. I mean seriously, what is their problem?! Pein is supposed to look all calm and collected, I don't care if he was in the middle of a big fight, in the manga he didn't crack a smile or scream like a banshee. When Naruto began unleashing his 8th tail, the attitude Pein had at that point was the one he should have had the entire episode. Not a face seemingly made of putty with Dragon Ball Z expressions plastered on it! And what was up with the filler? Half, no, almost three-quarters of the episode was filler. Naruto was supposed to go straight from zero to six tails, not from zero to four and then six. And I thought just touching the Kyuubi's chakra coat set your skin on fire (refer to Orochimaru versus Four-Tailed Kyuubi)? How many times did Pein come in contact with the Kyuubi's chakra coat? How many times did the animators make Naruto pummel him into the ground only to show us that Pein did not receive a single injury? And like Tailbone said, WHERE in the world did that ocean of water come from?! Kisame had to use an A-Rank technique to generate that much water, but Pein did it with one punch? Seriously? These animators ought to be fired...

To really work the drama, I think my eyes bled... And that reminds me of Sasuke... And we all know that is not a good thing.

I was trying to find an excuse for them like....In some scenes it seemed that they were trying to show the sheer speed that both Pein and Kyuubi where travelling at and thats why it looked bad in some areas but...then in other areas the characters just looked screwed up. So meh *shrugs*.
