She liked it when it poured. The feeling of heavy droplets of condensed water hitting her face with a splash was relaxing and purifying. and the thunder and lightning often associated with a downpour also pleased her. But there wasn't a better place than indoors to enjoy the wonders of a thunderstorm. Her creep window would fog up from the mist, and the rain would slowly glide down, mysteriously wiping the fog. The sound of droplets smashing against the small porch outside had a muted, yet enjoyable sound to it.

What annoyed her, were tiny rainstorms, a much smaller version than her usual favourite. The droplets were pathetic in size and even more miserable when it graced upon her skin. So accustomed to the heavy rainstorms, she wasn't able to tell the difference between that of a raindrop and a rather unusually cold bug. The smell of worms slowly creeping out from cracks in the sidewalks was so wretched, that even stepping on them wouldn't solve the problem. And rather than seeing the thousands of puddles on the streets, she'd prefer to see the whole side of the town flodded. What a sight.

Her reason being to get out of the house got her dressed and out the door on a Saturday morning at 8. Since her last encounter with Demo, Suzu didn't have the time or interest to socialize with other shinobi. Mustering up the courage to say hello to her neighbours across the road didn't count, as she already did have all the knowledge she needed to get to know them. But unfortunately, her spy window wasn't big enough to cover other parts of Kiri; the slightly "nicer" part. Since when did getting to know people become such a challenge?

She wondered if the other Kiri shinobi was having a hard time. Perhaps they, too, are scattered from the rest, and have to deal with the consequences of being sheltered from socialization. Or, if worst comes to worst, they all know eachother, and Suzu has to suffer introducing herself to every single one of them. Highly unlikely, but possible. Turning a corner, she stepped into a puddle. 'At least it wasn't a worm..' she thought, encouraging herself to keep walking.

Heading towards the marketplace, she thought a quick shortcut to the east-end of the town was fitting. A small trail that started near the back of the marketplace led to a pair of small picket-fence gates, both on the verge of collapsing; one gust of wind could effectively tear them. Beyond the picket-fence gates were the Administration Building, a few graveyards and residential buildings. The grafitti plastered on the picket fences led her to a desolate alley between two apartment buildings. Stepping out into the faded sunlight, Suzu began exploring.

The rain descended on the village in what seemed like a single, loose, sheet of pure, crystalline water as the weightless, grey clouds rolled along the shoreline. Ichiro could hear the ever restless waves lapping against the icy stone of the harbour walls, the harbour was half an hour to the west, straight through the heart of the slumbering village, but his Nishisora ears sensed the sound as if it were but a moment away. He enjoyed the rain, the sensation of tiny droplets of water, icy against the warmth of his body, criss-crossing the sides of his face in minuscule streams of water. The dull pitter patter as it fell against the deserted village, so quiet that it seemed as if you were imagining it, but to Ichiro the soft song of the rain was as clear as the drops that fell from the rolling clouds, darting in front of his vision like birds on the wing.

Though to be truthful, the wistfully floating clouds were letting no more than a pathetically light rain fall to the miserable seeming earth, far from the torrential storms that Ichiro so much preferred. The village carried a slight smell of rottenness, it seemed to be rising from the very ground itself, not much worse than the usual scent of damp that the rain brought on but enough to grasp Ichiro’s attention for a moment or so. Glancing at the state of the buildings surrounding him he guessed that he had wandered into the more ‘poor’ areas of Kiri, not impoverished as such, just less fortunate than the wealthier districts which could be found neighbouring the residence of none other than the Lord Kage himself.

Ichiro passed a graffiti stained wall, glancing at the rough, simple pictures with some distaste. He recognised this part of the village; he was nearing the place where Kasumi had left him a little under a month ago, the market or something like that, though the stench of fish and wine made it very likely. Hoisting himself over a wind beaten chain-link fence he dropped down into a shadowy alleyway, at the end he could make out the shape of a wooden market stall miserable and dripping wet as a result of the ‘bad’ weather, he could hear the aging wood groaning under the added weight of the moisture and a short distance beyond it the sound of slight breathing and footsteps coming down the opposite path. Ichiro silently walked out into the open space, the smell of rotting fish strengthening rapidly and striking him in the face like a physical blow. Resisting the urge to gag he gazed over at a derelict gate where he saw a human form, outlined by the rain hop over a puddle and walk down into the marketplace.
