| It was still early in the morning as the young genin arrived at the river. Jinno Kuma sighed as he took in the chilly morning air and looked back down at the scroll whit instructions that was given to him before the exam. The directions given to him for the second exam had brought him here and also explained what the goal of this challenge was. The goal was ... Too reach the other side of the river using the stepping stones , and water walking was forbidden.
When he read this he lowered the scroll whit instructions for a bit. Where they serious, it couldn't possibly be that easy. He put the scroll away in the pouch where he kept his ninja tools and walked closer to the river. The flowing of the cold water was heard clearly in the morning and as he came closer he saw the stones. 3 rows of 3 stones across the river.
As he came closer he crouched down and gazed over them. They where positioned in a way that you at least have to use 3 to get over the river without falling in the water. It looked a bit too simple and this was supposed to be a test. Suddenly a thought came in his mind. What if those stones where traps. Looking like normal stones to give the unwary genin a false sense of safety before failing them.
In his own imagination he saw himself jump fearlessly to the first stone that blew up underneath him sending him flying away. He shook his head to get that ridiculous image out of his head. They wouldn't do something that extreme as blowing it up too a genin ... Would they? For once he wasn't really that sure. This test to determine the skills and ability's of genins could be who knows what. So ... For now lets play it safe. "He looks around and quickly looks over his area "Lets see if we can take some precautions firsts. Better safe then sorry." He mutters as he wanders over to the tree's standing at the edge of the water line.
Soon he found what he needed. When he approached the stones in the river he was carrying a wooden log. It laid there scattered between the wood of some tree's that had snapped during a storm and now it could be useful for him. It wasn't as big as the ones that they used in the academy to practice their substitution but still. He wasn't the tallest person either and it would do just fine to test out the safety of one of the stones.
He took hold of the log whit his both hands and chose a stone. The middle one would do just fine (Stone 2 in the picture). Keeping his eyes on the stone he sighed "There we go" Whit a swing he let go of the log watching it fall on top of the stone. He observed it as the sound of wood and stone meeting each other echoed over the calm river. |

| Standing in front of the testing ground for the second exam, Kakougan yawned and noted exactly how early it was. Although Kakougan didn't exactly enjoy wasting time sleeping when there is research to do and medical advances to be discovered, he would of enjoy it when he knew that the next was the day of the second part of the chuunin exam. Not surprisingly, Kakougan wasn't the best with children. It wasn't that he abused them or treated them worse than he would treat a grown man, it was the absence of a change in behavior that made him all the worse with them. Instead of toning the harsh manner and morbid content of his normal conversational material he maintained them and by maintaining them was bad at talking to children. Yet another re-occurring aspect of this was his appearance. While some ninja were the prince charmings that little children were told about while sitting on their mother's laps, Kakougan was the boogey man. The problem that Kakougan had with the second part of the exam was that he would be talking to one genin instead of a group and there would be no one for the single kid to cower behind when seeing his gruesome face.
All of these factors should have excluded Kakougan from this part of the exam and yet he found himself sitting on the far side of a river awaiting ones arrival. " Maybe people are warming up to me." Kakougan thought with a large grin on his face. His face, that dreaded three dimensional figure of a demon's imagination, was covered with his gas mask for the time being. Kakougan had decided to refrain from showing his face in the event that the genin sees it and falls of a stepping stone in shock. These thoughts brought Kakougan to the reasons he wanted to be proctoring the exam. One was that he wanted to see what his own villages genin were capable of compared to other villages. The second and final reason Kakougan wanted to proctor was a very unorthodox one indeed. Kakougan was under the impression that genin might die in the exam and was on the look out for aspiring young bodies to take part in his latest research. Even though Kakougan knew that the chances of someone actually dying in this particular exam were almost non-existent, the hope of the third exam being dangerous and life threatening spurred him on.
As Kakougan was deep in thought about his research and what he would do with a genin body if he were to acquire one, the participant of the exam appeared. He seemed to be completely unaware of the hulking behemoth that was just across the river from him and instead began to read the instructions for the test. Instead of alerting the genin of his presence, Kakougan just stood and watched him. This of course was Kakougan's job, to watch the genin and later grade him on how he performed. The genin seemed to have a look on his face while he was looking at the paper that made Kakougan assume he questioned the challenge. ' You'll soon find out what makes it a challenge. In due time...' Kakougan thought to himself as he continued to eye ball the genin. Before the genin made his jump to his first stone, he got a small log and threw it at the boulder he was planning on jumping to. As the log neared the stone a small twister appeared on the surface of the stone. The twister formed into a ball of wind and shot towards the log, sending it flying back at the genin's feet.
" A bit too conventional, but still a good move." Kakougan yelled to the genin as words of encouragement.
Note: I will underline the reactions of the stones (the clues) in my posts so you don't have to dig through them to find it. |

| Jinno jumped up as the log flew back. The reaction from the stone didn't startle him but the voice that came whit it did. He scowled himself rubbing over his chest feeling his heart pound. He really had taught he was alone here. Stupid of him. Of Course there would be somebody observing him. But now it wasn't the time to worry about that. The real trouble here was that wind. As soon as something approached the rock it seemed to get knocked back by a weak wind style jutsu.
He probably could break trough it whit a jutsu of his own but he decided it would be wiser to save chakra "Hmm lets see now ... It pushes back everything that tries to get near ... Hmm or does it" He smiles as he saw the wind only form one projectile "Hmm i wonder how it would react to more then one thing trying to get on top of it."
Jinno looks around for a brief moment and starts to pick up some stones. They where of a decent size and fitted well in his hand. He managed to find 5 of them and slipped 4 in his ninja tool pouch who was getting pretty full along whit that scroll. "Well they might come in handy on my way over. Now lets test my theory out."
He throws the stone in his hand in a high arc trough the air aimed at the stepping stone before quickly taking the log again and throwing it too. The log would reach the stone first from the side before the small stone would fall down from above on the stone. This would test if the technique would react to several targets in rapid sequence. |

| The stones flew up high in the air and were about to come down on the stone along with the log. The stepping stone churned up another small wind vortex and shot it at the log, ignoring the stones which landed on the rock with a small clack. The log was sent flying back to the genin like it had been before. |

| The genin kept himself focused on the rock and watched the log approach. The stone conjured up another of those small wind blasts and blew the log back. He smiled and almost yelled out as his theory seemed to be correct when the stones hit the stepping stone. Now that the testing phase was over it was time that he turned his theory in reality. The log he picked up and put out of his way. It had been a handy test subject but once he was on the stones he couldn't keep any unnecessary weight whit him. Who knows what still was lurking for him at the seemingly calm river.
He formed a few hand seals while he muttered his jutsu "Water style : Water clone technique..." The moment he did so the river started to ripple water started to rise up and turned into a clone resembling the young genin perfectly. He smiled as he watched his clone "You know what you gotta do right... You might be made of water but i don't wanna take a swim just yet." The clone laughed and turned towards the river. "No problem, lets ace this exam." Jinno chuckled as the clone bend over placing his hands on his knees for support. Jinno had done this trick quite a few times already. Finally he would see it pay of.
The real genin took a few steps back and sudenley ran forward to the clone. Whit he jumped up and placed his foot on its back and used it as leverage to jump even higher in the air sending him into a arc towards the stepping stone just like the stone. The clone who would act like the log now smirked and jumped forward to the stone determined to take the blow for his original.
Jutsu's used :
Name: Water style : Water clone technique Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C Element: Water Description: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state. |

| The stone began to whip up yet another whirlwind as the water clone approached it's area. The whirlwind twirled around for a bit as if it were confused before shooting towards the clone and colliding with it. After the ball of wind was shot, the stone calmed down and the wind surround it died off. |

| Whit a grim look on his face the clone jumped forward to the stepping stone. As expected the wind appeared again above the stone and started to spin around. A bit worried he noticed it took the wind longer to attack him. Did he fooled the trap or not he wondered. Suddenly the wind packed together and shot in a sphere form towards the clone. “Gotcha.” He muttered before he got hit in the chest by it. The clone got a pretty hard blow and got knocked back to the side. He rolled over the ground for a while before his body burst open and turned back into water leaving only a small puddle behind.
Jinno smirked as he landed from above on the stone as the wind dispersed and saw his clone get hit and fall apart. He had served him well, at least this was one challenge down. He braced himself on the stone and looked further ahead at the next ones. From where he was standing he could reach 2 other stones. He briefly wondered which one he should pick and what more traps would be ahead. He reached back into his weapon pouch and pulled out 2 of the 4 stones that he picked up earlier.
He held them in his hand looking at each stone ones. After a moment of thought he decided to keep on the middle path. So he still had more options left in the end. He smirked as he aimed and lobbed one of his two stones too the middle stepping stone (5). He wondered what this would give and just to be safe he braced himself on his stone. |

| Much like the previous stone, this new stone whirled up a ball of chakra and blasted it at the incoming rocks. However, this ball of chakra was fire element and heated up the rock but didn't stop it from landing on the stone with a small tap. |

| He observed how the stone got hit by the fire orb and nodded "This is easier" He smiled as he saw the stone fall down on the stepping stone. It was obviously that it was heated as it rolled of the stepping stone and caused a small hissing sound when the heated rock fell in the water. He took a while to make sure his balance was alright before he taught about it. He wanted to reach the other side of the river as fast as possible but still he shouldn't’t do anything reckless. He tilted his head as he watched the rock for a while.
He sighed as he made up his mind. He would risk a bit more and this time use a bit chakra to be sure. He took hold of the second stone that he had in his hand and waited patiently. After a bit he leapt forward .
The morning wind breezed trough his hair making it wave behind him as the early morning sun reflected on the surface of the river. This would be a nice place to relax he involuntarily taught as he pushed himself of his old stepping stone. But now it wasn’t the time to worry about these small things. But its better to focus on the bigger things at hand.
He quickly threw the last stone in his hand to activate the trap again. But not feeling much for getting flamed by that stone he formed some hand seals in mid air. As he channeled the water chakra too his chest he felt the jutsu starting to work and soon he expelled a strong jet of water from his mouth to the rock to make sure it would’t send a second fire ball.
Jutsu's used : Name: Water style : Violent Water Wave Type: Ninjutsu, Rank: C Element: Water Description: Suiton • Mizurappa is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. After forming the needed handseals, Jinno will expel a strong jet of water at his opponent. |
